Armor Hal for 22 is a rip off. He was on sale for like 12 bucks online recently. Too niche a look for a wide release.
>>
>>11547920
McFarlane screwed over Death and Return of Superman fans so bad.

1. Producing tease newer versions before the classics to extract maximum profit.
2. Real Superboy is entirely incomplete without customizing that destroys the first Superboy figure and still has no glasses even then, so still incomplete.
3. Horrible, inaccurate Steel with droopy hammer and weird mixed plastic and/or paint splotch experiment because who knows why.
4. Making Cyborg Superman near impossible to find due to Gamestop being the only place that had preorders and then Walmart canceling almost any order in sight.
5. Eradicator stuck with inaccurate sculpted boot outlines and zany cape that is only good for power-posing.

For being new, one Target I was at had him on Clearance, although it was a smushed box.
>>
>>11548101
Problem is, stores have no idea what characters and looks are actually in demand, and figures are still distributed in waves which is really dumb as far as a perspective of allowing in demand figures to sell through their full stock by allowing reorders of popular figures. So the Target exclusive Cyborg Superman is getting sent to Walmarts because Target didn't reorder enough since he was packed with transparent Eradicator that no one wanted. So a peg warmer made an in demand figure hard to get. Ideally they'd just not make peg warmers but for some reason McFarlane Toys think "COOL VARIANTS" sell when people just want the canon look for the character.

Likewise, Armored Hal probably kept Target from reordering some other popular characters as well that were packed with him, since Armored Hal is a somewhat niche look and people already know the issue with that hammer.
>>
Ive got a yellow batman and a bulls eye patterned batman but my heart still feels empty.
>>
>>11548319
That's the way it is with the weird rare variants. You think you want it and you seek it out and are happy when you find it, but then you get the figure in hand and it's...just a figure. There's no reason to hunt for these things. None of them are worth it.

>>
>>11548355
This getting a random chase you don't want stuff pissed me off to no end. That and how difficult it is to get even normal releases makes me glad McFarlane is mostly producing very weird niche characters now and will be losing the license soon.
>>
Lego considers the critical and commercial success of Superman 2025 a fluke, so don't expect much Superman from Lego in the future. Instead, Lego is eagerly anticipating the much delayed Batman 2.
>>
>>11548374
I dont get why Batman is getting so delayed either.
>>
>>11548382
The fact that Matt didn't have a completed script before the writer's strike is really on him. And he had no family illness to point to at that point in time.

I mean, seriously. He went into Warner Brothers in fucking 2016/2017 and conned them into giving him a three picture deal and control of their Batman franchise with a pitch about THREE actual pictures. It took him from 2017 to 2022 to push out one movie, and part of that can be blamed on COVID. Only about two years of that was spent writing.

He's now spent longer just on a sequel script.
And probably has no fucking idea what the third movie will be about or even what anyone would call a rough outline.

>>11548382
It isn't being delayed, they're saying Matt Reeves is still working on the script, which is code for them waiting to see how Superman did and whether they want to pursue a Justice League with them together or keep them separate. It's all about which path would make them the most money. The script, which is always mostly dictated by the studio anyway with which villains to use and which stories they want to adapt, is most likely finished and they're just making world building changes to link things together. WB also wants their new movies to shine and gain a following on their own before playing the Batman card.

Batman is the one character they have left they can make money with so they're super cautious about not letting it turn poison again like after Batman and Robin. That's why the Batgirl movie was disappeared.
>>
>>11548395
They're just saying he has a plan. Directors of those things don't really have any control over the stories, they're just handed coloring books by the studios and told to stay inside the lines.
>>

Gunn's also still working with Maschetti (sp?) and the writer(s) on the script for Batman and Robin which will either feature Dick Bats and the Demon Spawn or Bruce and the Demon Spawn, so you're going to get your live action Robin shoved down your throat and learn to love it, anon.

But there are some definite weird out of character moments in Gunn's Superman movie, and it would've been better had Gunn put less of his own feelings into the character. We all know this movie was essentially about his cancelation on twitter a few years back and it is really bald faced and obvious.
>>
>>11548510
They don't have B&R cast, zoomie.
They don't yet have a finished script.
So it won't be happening at 'the same time.'

Unless Matt fucks up even more, Batpatinson 2 will be a late Fall 2026 or March/May/June 2027 release.
That's about when they will be FILMING, at best, Batman and Robin. Probably not even then at the rate they are going.
It feels like Gunn is the only one who works fast, probably because no one is rejecting his scripts and making them re-write them like he does to everyone else.

Even if B&R released in 2029/2030 - which is the earliest possible dates, no normie is going to fucking care that there's been two Batpatinson movies before it.

No one besides YOU will be confused.

No one besides YOU will find a non-Elseworld Batman to be anything stranger than Aquaman wearing a lot of clown paint and ugly motorcycle jackets/pants and calling himself the Main Man next year.

>>11548642
Morrison really tried to evoke all eras of comics into his work. Read his Batman run where everything is considered canon, from the pulp detective shit from the 30s and 40s, the campy goofiness of the 50s and 60s, the swashbuckling adventurer of the 70s, the dark and grim vigilante of the 80s and 90s, and the Bat God of modern times. It really is something special imo.

Metamorpho is pretty accurate to his comic book design, unless you want him in BVD type brief looking trunks or boxer brief trunks; the board shorts was a good practical response.

I agree, Coronswet suits suck ass and the Justice Gang suits were more MEH than not, especially sticking a fucking GREEN Lantern in one - and the color scheme makes no sense unless there's some Lord Tech reason - that the movie should have explained if that was the case.

But Metamorpho, Lex, and Ultraman (as a slim Doomsday tease) are actually pretty good and definitely comic accurate.

I have no idea who the review is, but he must not frequently review any DC (at least not McFarlane and not the few Japanese figures I've rarely looked to see reviews) but just skimming that, it's pretty obvious the reviewer pulled his punches a lot as far as informing the audience, likely not wanting to offend InArt so they would give him either more merch or more prototypes

It's also pointless to review, at least in any depth, a prototype, since it's not what end consumers will get. I personally go to these because it a different reference outside McFarlane's shitty boxes, and for other manufacturers, largely because they aren't readily available in hand, and doing a mail order return is a pain in the butt.

But I do want to hear about problems, so I am always suspect when they start by "Mattel/Hasbro/McFarlane" "sent me ...."

I'm kind of meh on both. Doom Patrol I lost interest in, I think, the third season while Sandman I've only seen the first episode of S2 so far and will get back to it whenever. At least Doom Patrol has Kandi/Rita.
>>
>>11553441
They're both bad. Doom Patrol became people just swearing constantly, yelling at each other, & feeling sorry for themselves until maybe eventually for one episode or two they actually do something.
>>
>>11553725
That's pretty much what Doom Patrol IS, to be fair.
>>
>>11553441
Sandman has really high production values, good acting, tight scripts; if you liked the graphic novel collections, you should be able to enjoy this as a lot of stuff was streamlined out and made tighter. I'm surprised a bunch of /poltards haven't chimed in that it was WOKE DEI and should be killed with fire so if that's you, then you can just avoid that. It's far more heterosexual and white than that implies but it seems those white boys are just that fragile.

I didn't watch Doom Patrol after S1 (but would recommend that season) because I cancelled my six month Black Friday HBO Max account when the price went up and if it's a DC property, I try not to pirate (like I did for Netflix Sandman) if it shows the suits at Warner Brothers that there is interest in the IP (same for some other things, like Venture Bros, etc.)

DP is also WOKE and DEI in a greater sense since there's not really any heterosexuality in later seasons; and the old white man turn out to be the bad guys more often than not. I can't argue against the people who are bitching about S2 onward seasons because I haven't watched it but people here are just very contrary about DC IP in live action and especially cartoons.

People here are often obviously not even comic book readers and if they know an adaptation, it's maybe from one movie or even just meme's and GIFs.

>Sandman has really high production values, good acting, tight scripts; if you liked the graphic novel collections, you should be able to enjoy this as a lot of stuff was streamlined out and made tighter
wat
They changed a ton of shit to make it cheaper and/or just to change shit just to change shit, which always makes for a shitty adaptation. The duel, dr destiny, and other shit made me drop it almost right away.
If Gaiman hadn't been hardup for money for the impeding divorce it probably wouldn't have been made.
>>
>>11553441
The Sandman is FANTASTIC. as long as you aren't an uptight butthurt /pol/cel who can't stand any mention whatsoever of LGBTQ and trans (though frankly the original comics hit on those themes itself) you will have a good time watching it. I highly recommend it and Good Omens if you haven't seen that either.
>>
>>11554248
Gaiman only got showrunner money and he probably only got a healthy chunk for the first season. WB has repeatedly sold the rights to adapt Sandman for decades now so several people have tried to adapt it.

Of course some things had to be changed to execute them. I agree with you that some of it was done to save money (like the fight between Dream and Lucifer in S1) but some of it was never going to be filmed, like the cafe/restaurant murder scene, or the Corinthian's worse shit, because it would be far too violent for something that isn't a pure horror show. I disagree that it was changed just to change, it's clear you didn't like some choices and just don't want to come across and say something like Kirby should be replaced by a white goth chick.

Cheap in your parlance is implying Roger Cormen. You're suggesting what was on the screen in Netflix was low budget, low rent, etc. And it was not.

And by your own admission, you've only seen 1/4th of both series.

There's all sorts of reasons things get changed and some shit is always going to be changed when comics get adapted, look at Galactus until this year and even this year isn't really anything great since it's essentially a X-Men Sentinel sized Galactus, so not anything that hasn't really been seen before for all that some people were creaming in their panties about how we "finally' got a 'comic-accurate' G.

You don't like it, fine.

But they did streamline 75 fucking issues plus the Death one shot, or 10 trade paperbacks in to about 22+ hours of television.

It made it easy for casuals to watch and follow, which is the point of an adaptation, pal.

>But they did streamline 75 fucking issues plus the Death one shot, or 10 trade paperbacks in to about 22+ hours of television.
WAT!
They finished the entire series in only 20 episodes? Nevermind that would also mean season 2 would by hyper-condensed, given season 1 was like the first 15 comics.
>It made it easy for casuals to watch and follow, which is the point of an adaptation
congratulations for them speedrunning a series, but the only accomplishment they made was making a great series into shit.... which isn't much of an achievement, given hollywood makes shit adaptations a hundred times a year

nevermind sandman was basically canceled at season 1 (gaiman was begging people to watch it so it would get renewed), which means that they undoubtedly cut the budget for season 2.
When was the last time anything that had its budget cut and needing to be cut extremely short ever resulted in something good? it's always infuriating for fans.

>Cheap in your parlance is implying Roger Cormen. You're suggesting what was on the screen in Netflix was low budget,
You're fucking stupid. It's no longer the 80s, so nothing will ever look as cheap as that anymore, thanks to green screen and CGI taking over.
But the more things change, the more they stay the same... because they used soooo much green screen because they couldn't afford to shoot on location or even good sets. So just like Roger Cormen shit, you can tell it has low budget because of that. Nevermind the quality of the CGI is shit compared to higher budget stuff, hence hell being so low-rent in the show. And that was season 1... i can only imagine how limited CGI would be in the budget strapped season 2.

>like Kirby should be replaced by a white goth chick.

I only buy something if I like it or have some sort of attachment to it. I've purchased random shit before just because it looks cool or fits in with another display, but I never have quite the enjoyment I do from the stuff I do like. For instance, I recently went on a Metroid binge and replayed a bunch of the games, and that prompted me to pull my Metroid Prime 3 Figma Samus off the shelf and futz around with her for the first time in literal years. I do this kind of thing all the time, whenever I am into a particular franchise, I will be prompted to want to play with the figures from that franchise. So I go through and do play with my collection every once in a while, it just depends on what mood I'm in.

>>11554584
>I think the show got axed because gaiman is a creep so they just dumped whatever they had into season two
Nah, Gaiman is no more or less creepy than the rest of hollywood. He's in their fellowship.

The fact that they rushed the last season is simply because Season 1 did so poorly. Like i said, Gaiman was begging people to watch it because the show was too expensive for the low amount of viewers it got. Since it takes so long for a TV show like that to be made, Gaiman getting exposed would have nothing to do with the show getting cut.
Budget + planning would have already been made 3-2 years ago and production wouldn't be completed until maybe 6 months ago. So there's really not enough time even cut the show short, because everything but the CGI/editting would be finished and Gaiman already got paid.

That guy claims that Sandman season 2 crammed the remaining 55 comics worth of stories into 10 episodes and that's just classic hollywood butchery.

They're calling this "Batman Earth-2" but I thought Earth 2 Batman was the golden age Batman. Apparently there is this new Earth 2 Society thing. DC continuity is getting too convoluted. They need to keep the Earths numbers consistent.

it's actually kind of amazing. There's not a single aspect of that thing's design that I like in any way.

Is DC Gene the only generale on this board that's proudly ignorant of the source material? Amateur hour

Put on your imagination cap pal, looks like he has a plastic mustache on.
We will settle on groucho marx batman, just needs a cigar.

Partly reuse of Earth-22 Batman but torso, diaper, head and hands are new. They really are making new molds that are not for key or important versions of characters. Very strange choices in where to reuse and where to not.

>>

Glad I don't have to get this reused buck again. Face is kind of weird and like 1970sish or the like and that'd be the only reason to get it if it was good. Hard to tell if there's a wire or not as well so no one likes playing the wire lotto and being the first to open.

Yes.
>>
>>11555764
thats just the toddfather being real with his fans, showing even a god can be imperfect.
>>
>>11555763
Only if you trust the blue raised part in the back is actually part of the cape and not a shopped in background. And I don't trust their promo images as they play with lighting and backgrounds. I only trust the white background pics from McFarlane and they likely won't indicate if its wired--plus they only get released when it goes up.

Is the eyeshadow being off the QC issue on Babs?

I assume the Batman is paint flakes and sloppy paint all over the place
>>

You can see the wire dipshit.

And the fucked up plastic on her torso. And the dents in the thighs from the factory slaves pinching the legs into place.

I’m blind and before good text to speech software my brother would have to read posts and double-check my spelling before posting for me.
>>
>>11555771
Looks like this bro got x-ray vision to see the wire within the cape. X-ray vision, X-ray vision, X, X, X. I say that's no fun--that's not a good--XRAYS--not a good game.
>>

Would you call?

>JARRET I KNOW IT'S YOU WHO KEEPS CALLING ME

He’s right. You can see the wire flexing.
>>
>>11555824
I'm not 100% convinced that lump is a wire. Maybe like 60%. It could be, but I would really like them to show the capes flowing using the wire in the foreground (not background) so it can be confirmed. It doesn't much matter to me as I wouldn't buy this figure anyway though. There's not too much left on my Toddlist, and depending on headsculpts and such it could all be skipped.

This Earth 2 Batman is from the New 52 era when they rebooted Earth 2 along with the rest of DC. This was the universe where Clark, Bruce and Diana are killed of by Darkseid's minions in the first issue. This is where younger versions of Jay Garrick, Alan Scott (the first time they made him gay) and Kendra Saunders. Eventually Power Girl made it back to Earth 2 as thats the earth the New 52 version of her hailed from, a new black Superman stepped into the picture and Earth 2 Dick Grayson took up the mantle of Batman. This is that Dick Grayson's Batman costume.

Normally, I'd rag on you guys for not knowing this, but you had to read the ass Convergence event and it was terrible. Along with most of the New 52 Earth 2 stuff.

It's based on this cover from that time in Detective Comics when Black Mask and Jeremiah Arkham fought for control over Arkham Asylum and DickBats had to intervene. Actually kind of impressed that Todd got the figure right by using the DickBats body.
>>
>>11555898
But they got the figure wrong by not making an actual standard look for Black Mask instead.

No need to be pessimistic. All antifa commies will be thrown in a gitmo and every leftist celebrity cancelled into oblivion. We are back bros, this time we will be using the the same poison to fight back.
