In other news the final two episodes of the newest ninjagay season kinda sucked cock with the villainous dragon ending up being a massive fucking jobber. Going to hit up a tiny brick shop 45 min away that is only open one day a week for 4 hours tomorrow morning. I’m hoping for some decent shit and maybe a parts bin. Seems to have a lot of 2017/2018 stock from what I could see from the window.
>>
>>11554199
It is a bit of a shame how all the secondary stores seem determined to close before any working adult (realistically, most of their customer base) could physically get there. Went to Brickmania a few weeks back and literally the only people there were me and the guy minding the shop.

I tried watching a few of the lego tv shows ( dreamz and Ninjago) because an anon here shilled them and they’re just awful. If you’re watching them with your kid because he likes them then sure whatever do what you gotta do. But if you’re an adult watching that shit I just cannot understand. Live action Disney channel teen drama terrible. Most of the show isn’t even Lego. I was probably spoiled by watching the lego movie first where everything is lego but like the only thing that’s Lego about it are the minifigures.
>>
>>11554221
This reminds me of the scene from too many cooks where the stuffed animal is crawling across the floor while dying
>>
I cringe making this post but I'm undecided.

I always loved the Amidala design but the 100€+ you need to pay for the minifig is insane. The Brickheadz is the next best thing and someone is selling it on its own for lower than the partout value so I don't need to spend 50€ on the set. But still it's this funko pop looking thing do I really need that?

I am not a very creative person
I have this Lego tallneck and another MOC robot dinosaur, put them in a 40x40 display case

How can I spruce it up inside so it doesn't look so boring? I'd like to give the impression of fauna,so maybe instead of just a case it looks like it's inside a forest or something.
I was thinking along the lines of artificial grass, but I'm not actually going to use artificial grass so what kind of things am I looking for to buy? I genuinely have no idea.

Or are there any actual Lego pieces I could get that decorate the display case walls and give the impression of fauna? plz halp

disappointed. Apparently, you have to call and then someone might show up between 10-3 on a Saturday. I guess next Saturday we try again. I wouldn’t bother but I gotta know what the deal is. There’s easily 15k worth of new and old stock but nothing older than 2017 and it’s just sitting there on shelves. They had to have dumped 20k into the Lego table and counters and shelving and inventory and it’s always closed or by appointment only.

The bulk of their business is probably online. They use the storefront as a warehouse and shipping location/business address primarily and don't/can't do it from their home. Probably tax reasons, too. Knew a store owner like this.
>>
>>11554981
I would think that to except: A- They do have a website it is the most basic shit ever and only has a “contact us” form and “sales” email. There is no BL link no LG affiliate shit nothing. 2- They have no fb or social media at all. 3- The phone number on the sign has zero search results not even like a “been verified” or “spokeo” kinda shit. 4- the storefront is built up like a legit Lego store. Brick table for kids, lots of shelves with new shit (saw the new 3-1 castle prominently) and the place has been there for at least six month from what I can tell. I’m not going to dox myself but I’m gonna investigate. Seriously 20k investment at least just chilling there.

So I did a deep dive and looked into who owns the building. Apparently, a dude from this tiny shitheal town near me of 3,500 won 75million in the lottery. He’s bought up pretty much the whole downtown and “revitalized” it. There’s boutiques all down Main Street, a couple bars, the old movie house, the old Carnegie library, paid for EV hookups, and just broke ground on a 6.4 million dollar aquatic center. They got like 40s style big band music playing on loudspeakers throughout the downtown and build the pavilion at the park into a large bandstand.
Everything looks and and sounds like you’d want a small town Main Street to be but something feels off. It’s a facade and I had to DIG to find out what was going on. It all seems great… why hide it?
Why have a Lego store and not open it?

Hell, I’ll work there five hours a week for a $125 in Lego!

There's probably better options. They've put out a lot of random crap, you just have to search for it the right way. Try a bricklink search like
>torsospider pattern -web -spider-man
to filter out all the irrelevant samey shit. There probably isn't anything with a pattern of specifically the classic spider piece, but there's got to be some sort of sufficiently generic armour with a spider symbol.

Yeah I think that's the vinyl guy. He used a vinyl cutting machine at his work to cut vinyl shapes which he stuck on to blank pieces. I remember he used a black shape on a plain yellow shield.
I use sticker paper in my regular printer, which doesn't have the same look but is easier and more versatile in terms of colours. This article and others on the same site are a good starting point if you want to try it. I find a coat of clear spray paint over the sticker paper helps keep it from smudging.

If lego make a transporter room diorama or deck diorama for star trek, which one will it be? TOS or TNG? I'm sure we get a TOS next year to celebrate the anniversary but would be nice for more sets, still think it's a mistake the Enterprise for TNG has no interior.

Because there are people who will actually end up buying the 400 dollar set, who otherwise wouldn't have if there were a more reasonably priced option instead. That's why pirates of the caribbean figs are locked behind jack sparrow's slave I. That's why trek figs are locked behind picard's galaxy-class starship. Same with zelda and so on.

I'm glad that at least all the dune figs were in the reasonably priced ornithopter.

>>
>>11559422
I wasn't aware of any stigma. Do you mean stigma against technic parts in system sets or do you mean technic sets specifically?
Personally I've never found technic sets appealing because it's mainly just these large vehicle models but nothing to go along with them. No figures (even though back in the 90s we had technic figs). No locations or buildings or scenery. Just vehicles. And everything in technic is almost always very impressionist and you don't really get "good looking" exterior design with just using technic.

Love using technic to help build with regular legos though, for articulation or stability/frames, etc
>>
>>11559427
That's SOVL. There's a difference. No one would think that comes close to a real skeleton. Autistics can't appreciate stylization like that though.
>>
>>11559422
>these days
You clearly weren't around for the heyday of Bionicle
>>
>>11559434
bionicle is technic but it's also kinda its own thing in terms of it's special parts, focus on articulating ball joints, etc. I'm sure he's just referring to the technic branded sets that are all 400 dollar bulldozers and sports cars and VTOLs
>>
>>11559428
What’s >>11559281 this? Secular?
>>
>>11559422
I think most of it comes from twchnic just not being very fun to put together. Its torture sometimes, I dont mind a little technic to make the skeleton or a cool play feature but the majority of technic is unfun and tedious. Why would I pay $700 for a crane that isnt fun to put together when I could buy something actually fun to build?

The most egregious was that one guy saying

How the fuck are these guys going to even be able to give an accurate assessment of whether something is worth a grand if they just get it for free? It's one thing if they get free samples for sets that are like 50-150 bucks, but for 1000 dollars they simply do not have the capacity to accurately judge the value if they didn't have to pony up the cash.

Friendly reminder the terrible fucking writing on the first three seasons of Voyager and the Kaizon Keska story arc is why we’re in the shithole reality we’re in.
Voyager has terrible writing and they bring on a young Jeri Ryan to boost ratings.
The long distance affects an already crumbling marriage and she divorces Jack Ryan Illinois politician and sleazebag.
2004 rolls around and for Illinois senate it’s Barack Obama vs the hand picked replacement for the retiring and popular Peter Fitzgerald none other than Jeri Ryan’s ex Jacky boy.
7 of nine reveals her ex hubby used to take her to sex rooms and make her fuck in public and definitely hotwifed her out.
He drops out.
Obama subsequently waltz’s into the senate seat and then the White House.
Blah blah blah
Makes fun of Trump and goads him into running and here we are.
Voyager caused everything.

Pretty sure you can make him with existing parts. That face is just that guy from Harry Potter who was disguised as Ron’s pet rat. There’s already a green top hat. An exact match of torso probably doesnt exist but I bet there are clowns or green suits somewhere that are close. I know a bow tie exists, is there one in red?

Leaks are the only reason to come to this dogshit general. Or do you find enjoyment from reading the same bitchy comments in every single lego general about slop this and slop that or how everything is too expensive for muh neetbucks? Nah, you probably love reading the absolute garbage ideas from permavirgins who think they could run a billion dollar toy company better. It'd probably be entertaining if their ideas weren't the same every time. Now it's just stale and sad.

I really dont understand all the seething about this piece i've been seeing lately on youtube.
Its a preassembled mechanism. Of fucking course it has to be printed - you cant injection mold that shit. Nor is it (At least on paper) a price riser since 3D printing is configurable unlike a single-piece expensive mold you have to cover the expenses for.
>>11559295
I hate that you are right. I'd genuinely love to buy it since the build is actually looking fun as fuck but that shit is going to cost like a trip to space because of mario tax and scalpers.

>I really dont understand all the seething about this piece i've been seeing lately on youtube.
Because it's a sign of what's likely to come. In 10 years time, nearly every Lego set will be 3D printed slop and electronic parts. Classic Lego lost to the techbros.
Literally nobody would care if it came with a brickbuilt train, working wheels and connecting rods aside.

most of the sets I want are cheap or the ones I want cost way too much and offer way too little to justify the cost
I regret buying the 3 in 1 haunted mansion before it went on sale near me.
my regret of ever only picking up 1(one) of the kino monster fighters sets(swamp creature) made me purchase it prematurely
>mfw they will never resurrect that line
>>
>>11559354
I simply refuse to buy any set that's over $50. If it costs more than that it's liable to just be a "display piece" (IE waste of space) anyway. $10-20 3-in-1s are my bread and butter.
>>
>>11561092
Are they finally shipping red heads?
>>
>>11561262
the 3 in 1 mansion was such a nice surprise for monster fighter fans. Shame about the price. The build is TINY
>>
>>11561234
Its literally not feasible you fucking retard.
SLS requires a shitload of postprocessing and maintenance, way more than an injection mold just popping out a piece one after another onto a conveyor. Majority of the pieces will still be the same because its faster to mold them and ABS pellets are cheaper to source than the cheapest SLS powder. At worst it will just be a shitty gimmick for a few pieces and will fall off.
The only big problem here is that lego advertises "3D-printed" as something special on the box. If they just bundled the piece in there with no words no one would suspect shit.
When they start bundling actual layered FDM slop in there - the one that most people are familliar with - then its the time for worrying, but even then it wont be able to ever replace injection molded pieces either because its slow as shit, and i see no profitable reason why the fuck would they ever do that.

God i fucking hate the mainstreamification of 3D printing so much. 40+ years of technology overshadowed by some retards with a cheap little chunk of it slopping out ugly dragons on youtube 24/7 and then even more retards using that as a justification that it must be shit in all fields.

watching TPM and AOTC made me realize how little Actual prequel sets we actually get. Lot of clone wars sets but rarely anything from the movies beyond the occasional Slave 1 or starfighter. in the past five-ten years we've only gotten the following non starship sets:
>NO Naboo scenes since 2017 (duel on Naboo)
>NO Coruscant scenes since 2012 (palpatine arrest)
>Most Geonosis and ROTS sets are just clone wars related (battle packs and and clone/droid vehicles)
>NO Count Dooku sets since 2012
>The last Mustafar set was 5 years ago
the only planet that gets a decent amount of sets is Tatooine and even then there's barely anything that can be done there

Honestly considering the shaping of the source material the green ship's tail is definately the best they could do at the time, and honestly could be passable on a modern set.
>>
>>11562299
>and honestly could be passable on a modern set.

The old sets were good because they looked more like Lego interpretations of Star Wars than an attempt to be a Star Wars model.

>>
>>11562611
I don't understand why people hoard non-retired parts in non-retired colours as an 'investment'. For example the light bluish gray chainsaw body was in only one large Star Wars set in 2005 so it's more expensive than you'd think. But Lego could put it on PaB or release a $10 City set with 4 of the same part tomorrow. The blue lantern piece from the 90s Pirates sets is another example.

I'm not deep into Lego, but I have picked up a decent amount of the Sonic license, getting the Master Emerald Shrine and Biolizard in this Wednesday. Is this line selling well? I'd love to have more game accurate robots and displays, but most of the line is gimmicky crap that's never been in the games. Only picked up the Knuckles mech for Knuckles himself and Rouge, and the Campfire Sonic for the SA2 robots.

Normies are finally turning on Lego. If this Adults Welcome nonsense can collapse and Lego shrinks back to a smaller toy company, we may see the return of good IPs. I'm hopeful.

>Normies are finally turning on Lego
Since when? Did influencers find something to bitch about to the masses or what?
>>
>>11562744
Decent line, half is gimmicky shit, but the rest is really good. I'd say it's selling well since we've gotten plenty of Brickheadz, a GWP, an Insider Set, an 18+ set, and in 2026 it will be the line's 4th year. That being said, if they don't do more game accurate stuff (maybe even a CMF for the 35th anniversary of the franchise) things will get stale quick

tl;dr Lego released a mid as crap death start for $1000 that was basically a bunch of $20 scenes slotted into a dollhouse frame with so many cut corners that it isn't even funny. Oh, and it had a part of it that was cut to be an extremely limited gift with purchase purely as a FOMO tactic. In even shorter terms, it's basically a culmination of everything wrong with Modern Lego and only the most ardent of Lego Group shills defend it.
>>
>>11562883
It's been a crescendo with all the price increases but the Death Star pushed them over the edge. At a thousand dollars, this was supposed to exemplify everything Lego is capable of, and it still came out with stickers, scratched pieces, subpar figures with poor printing, on top of a controversial design. It's basically an admission from Lego that this is the best they can do, it'll never get better. That and things like Pokemon of all themes only rumored to feature 18+ sets. Lego adults are just a step below Disney adults.
