New 2012 Leo, his foot joint is completely stuck in place, this is my first neca figure. Ive tried heat and beating it with a hammer, won't budge, worried about breaking the joint too.
I'm sure this happens often with Neca, are there any fixes to it?
>>
>>11581397
You mean those two? I think they look great together. Skeletor being slightly taller feels right to me. Hes a big ol buff dude next to a normal sized human. but I'd want Shredder to be more CC's height
>>
>>11581349
I like to mix and match as long as they look ok together. But I own most of the first wave of vintage, including 3 soft heads and a few from later waves and a lot of the 2012 collection.

I actually like pairing the 2012 Turtles with the vintage villian mutants because they appear larger and more intimidating while most of the 2012 villians were scaled down to cut costs.

Anyways, I'm reading that the Page Punchers are 5 inches tall so the Shredder would probably about the height of the 2012 playmates turtles.

>>
>>11581442
I feel like they went too cartoony with both of them.
>>
>>11581442
Yeah I agreed from the start these don’t look like Henson designs, but I’m also starting to see what anons were pointing out about how these wouldn’t even work as actual suits. I hope that these not being seen for a while means they’re still working on them.
>>
>>11581396
Silicon lubricant (sometimes sold as treadmill lubricant) + heat and gentle but firm pressure. Make sure to move the joint in a natural angle to it's rotation. Get a nice thin hobby knife in between the edges of the joint if you think there may be some paint causing it to hold, just enough to make sure there is a gap between the part and the ankle.
>>
>>11581442
It's not shit, the fact that you're making this lost proves you're only wanting to troll and anything you say is completely invalid. It 100% looks like a Henson design.

I said years ago about a 'what if' movie series on here. Including the planned 4th film - Eastman had concept drawings.

But I just don't believe that these could have been wearable Jim Henson created suits in the early 90s. I can't picture a normal person inside.

They should have got Henson veterans to design them. No offence to the creator of these. But there are nuances that don't quite register as 'right'.

The goofiness is right. But these are firmly in fantasy land. And not very 'what if' - like a long lost design. It must be a hugely difficult task to get this looking and feeling right. But they're not quite there IMO.
>>
>>11583470

I wonder if/when NECA ever drops a Kirby figure from those sketches. If any company does it'd be them with their deep diving.

I wouldn't put it past them to do the Hallmark Turtle though it might be too similar to the Raph as Shredder figure they got coming.
>>
>>11583303
They look pretty good visually. But what about articulation? Can you show how far legs bend straight forward and knees backward?

>>11583470
>But I just don't believe that these could have been wearable Jim Henson created suits in the early 90s.
That's a you problem.

>I can't picture a normal person inside.
Again, that's a you problem. You can see where a person would fit inside without any issue.

>But there are nuances that don't quite register as 'right'
You are also incorrect there. There's everything about them that look right. And they had input from the Henson shop.

>But these are firmly in fantasy land.
Nope.

I think what makes the bebop look wrong is it takes more cues from the Micheal Bay Bebop than the 80s design and Henson style. You have the purple mutton chops, the pot belly, and the spikes on the shoulders, it looks like they tried to make a "what if Out of Shadows but in the 80s" and not "what if Henson Bebop in Secret of the Ooze".
>>
>>11583599
>it takes more cues from the Micheal Bay Bebop than the 80s design and Henson style.
No it doesn't. Like, at all, it's hitting the late 80s/early 90s punk look. It looks like a Henson design.

After seeing comments from multiple people on forums where samefagging isn't a thing, there is a consensus that the Bebop design is awful and looks nothing like what HCS would have designed. But across every toy forum I've seen them discussed, I've only ever seen one pathetic loser actually try to defend this garbage, so I'm willing to bet that the samefagging you claim is happening is either imagined or a coping mechanism.

Being able to voice your honest opinion about a toy is the opposite of miserable.
Hell, I can go into almost any thread on this board and say I think something looks shit and know I won't be attacked by a company sycophant for voicing my opinion. You are so miserable that whenever someone says they don't like something that NECA made, you take it personally. Despite your attempts to make this thread the most miserable place on the internet, there are anons here that can tolerate differing opinions.

Shredder is fine. It looks like the source material. It might be digging at the bottom of the barrel for ideas, but that's to be expected when the line has made nearly every cool character into a figure and needs to resort to obscure Glup Shittos like Creepy Eddie. I'm all for the mutton chops, but yeahhhh. the rest.. eh.. I mean I love spiked shoulders, but this is just spiked -trapezius area-
Bebop needs his turtle shell pauldrons, IMO. you can put spikes on them if you want, make them alligator snapping turtle shells, or hell just make them koopa shells, but this just isn't balanced.
still, the biggest problem is the head shape and ear placement. Bebop should not have a ton of head north of his ears, nor south of his mouth. he has a weak little pig chin, not this big diaper of a chin.
>>11583626
you know what though, the double tusks thing should be kept. because that's A) how you tell a boar from a sow, and B) how they sharpen their tusks, each set sharpens the other set. females just have smaller ones without that pairing.

>>
>>11584270
THAT was it, thank you. I knew there was just one time they got it right.

in fairness, given how americanized they are, and how many generations it's been, it's totally reasonable that this could have changed since Sansho's day. What was amazing to me was finding out that Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki/Nagi aren't exactly real names (Yamato Hoshi would have been. Though there's definitely people NICKNAMED Yoshi, and Saki and Nagi are real names but they're for girls. i believe I have that right)
But in fairness, anime makes up new names based on word-kludges, all the time. and gives normal names new kanji.

this is actually fascinating to look at, given the earlier discussion of how to fit a man into a very unusual body shape..
I think it's safe to assume those hands don't articulate? They look like they're permanently in an action figure grip, which is fine... I would love to know how this looks while it walks, though. . and whether it's a pain in the guy's neck, because I would think his head's gotta be tilted forward.

hmm yeah i'm looking down the reddit, he says hands are static, and he sees through the mouth, so, hmm.. the shoulder height >>11584381 here ...

OH. he posted a gif. https://files.catbox.moe/0wqrhi.gif (it's too big to attach)
okay this is interesting, unless he was just being jaunty on purpose, I think the thighs are very restricted by the belly here, hence having to kinda hop around. he can't really use his knees much.
>>
>>11584400
Yeah seems less like a full on costume and more like a wearable prop
Still neat to see though
>>
>>11584401
just so!
It does make you wonder what limits could be circumvented in the case of an actual full-budget movie prop. Laird's idea for a TMNT reboot movie was to go back to Henson, but allow for CGI eye blinks and mouth movement cleanups, impossible stunts, junk like that. Under some circumstances, I suppose "cgi thigh-movement-fudging" would be acceptable in the name of more interesting movements. And maybe if the shoulders couldn't line up with the actor's shoulders, you could still have close-up shots of the arms with nothing inside (or just mechanisms), being puppeted.
>>
>>11584402
Keep in mind this is an amateur build, without the same kind of budget to do fully functioning suits.
>>
>>11584571
yeah hence... literally everything I said
I'm not sure how my post would make any sense without that fact as a given.
like I'd have to be retarded to say "makes you wonder what limits could be circumvented in the case of an actual full-budget movie prop" and not understand this isn't one.

Saw someone’s customized 2012 Leonardo and wow, it improves the figure a lot and fixes all my issues I have with the NECA release. Left is before, right is after.

>This figure is really amazing. The articulation is a bit wacky, but after upgrades it's a lot better.

>The right bicep swivel on mine tore apart, so I had to use the screw method to replace it, turns out it felt a lot better and more study than before, so I also did it on the left arm.

>The modifications I did are

>Repainted mask+eyes

>Trimmed the sides of front shell and repainted

>Trimmed out more torso articulation at the joint

>Replaced the hinge in the right sword holding hand with a ball joint, for vertical movement

>Wired posable bandana in the back

>I also separated the front shell from the left side completely, and the bottom, to allow more movement

>Yep skipping both of them. Animu eyes are kinda gross
>>11586422
>The faces are actually awful

I mean the anime eyes aren't everyone's taste, but consider that rage toys has consistently put out a "found the copyright line" bonus accessory set with an alternate head or two, I fully expect these girls to get a unhelmeted, masked head in there somewhere.

Assuming they do another pair of girls for shits and giggles, l'm guessing Venus (light blue or white) and Mona (pink)?

I like the yufffie ninja star, but what other weird weapons could they get though? Maybe... Hook swords? Some other weird thing.

>>11588472
forgot to mention, like, jennika comes with her bow here >>11586370
so I assume her claws (along with alt head) are surely in the accessory pack.

>Shoud make Alopex
I mean if you can get past the missing blue facepaint thing and the mutant town casual clothes, Lado toys already did a solid Alopex. Unless the exposed feet are part of it too? I don't know if that's part of it for you.

She's also coming out with an alternate armoured body, so that might get closer to the ninja suit if you didn't like the civilian clothes.
>>
>>11588496
you understand there are other differences, right?
>>
>>11588496
Other than being the same species that doesn't look anything like Alopex

Can't help but notice how light these two figures are on accessories compared to past figures. Taco troubles I'm assuming.
