Is anyone able to find the instructions for this online? Hasbro site for instructions seems finnicky for search terms and the unicron site didnt seem to have it either, or not that I can seemingly find. I got a loose autotrooper and could just watch a video or get the ironhide I think it is instructions instead I suppose, but gosh the instructions are hard to find for this pack

Finally made it to Wally World before the scalpers. I don't buy much these days, but I'm something of a Seaspray afficionado. G2 was my first Transformer ever. Shame he never gets any love, but I guess vac metal is a hard sell these days.
He's cool, I guess. He was also over THIRTY fucking dollars after tax. Like, I guess he's big enough to be considered a deluxe, although a fairly insubstantial one. He's definitely feels a bit hollow in both modes. I know the idea is that size classes are just price points now, but I can't say that I'm feeling that extra $X.XX worth of quality anywhere.

And he's got the same problem as pretty much every transformer I've bought over the past few years—the transformation is unsatisfying and the alt mode feels unfinished. There are a bunch of little tabs and bits that ultimately only seem to affect his final proportions slightly, and I'm not sure why because his proportions are still weird. So, Pulse FINALLY decided to send me my Onyx Prime today. He's the one Prime I was actually excited about, and I was getting impatient seeing others with theirs all this time.\He's bigger than I had expected from pictures, and he's actually a Quad-changer of sorts.Standard robot mode looks cool and imposing; his hooved feet are digitigrade and have some extra joints that are useful for posing. His shoulders are also on pseudo-butterfly joints, so you can swing them forward a bit if you raise his extra set of legs that are draped over his shoulders. His wings look nice and can move back and forth as well as having a joint in the midsection to make the tips go up and down, but I wish he had a joint at the base of the wing as well for better range of motion in his other modes.He comes with a spear, the tip of which is actually intended to be a reimagined version of his signature Triptych Mask.

His chest panel opens up to reveal a little square slot that the armature normally slides up on when in Beast Mode, but the rectangular port on the back of the Mask/Spearhead fits into it perfectly; closing the chest panel (which is slightly curved and conforms perfectly with the cylindrical base of the spearhead) holds it in place, and his forehead fits right into the groove on the raised ridge that runs along the back of the spear. It's not perfect and looks ridiculous, but it works.

It's honestly pretty ungainly and difficult to pose him with - the length of the spear itself gets in the way of most of his arm articulation. Still, I like that he can go full Sagittarius, and it's definitely my favorite of his four canon modes.

Technically, the ankle spurs on his hind legs are supposed to fold into his hooves in this form, but I'm keeping them out to further differentiate it from his next form.His spear plugs into his back for storage, with the Mask detaching and reattaching to one of the pegs on the spear handle's side with the other peg tabs into a slot above his tail cover; the spear can also be tabbed into a slot on the back of either of his wings.

It's basically the exact same as his dragon mode, except you fold his shoulders forward and flip the extra legs down, using the extra joints on them to shorten them a bit. He has a bunch of other tabs on his body that look like they can be used for other unofficial configurations, though I'll have to play around with him a bit more to see what I can come up with on my own.Overall, I like him - definitely the most interesting of the Primes released so far. I'm still wondering if they'll do a blue repaint of him for Shockwave-Onyx at some point.

Seaspray is mixed feelings. He definitely feels like they tried to overcomplicate a simple design to justify the price point (the most blatant is probably how his boatshoes fold in on themselves). He feels less ... solid than others and might have benefited from tiny wheels so he move around on flat surfaces like other . His robot mode is pretty good at being Seaspray and I like his colors. Finished installing the DNA set for Megatron and Tidal Wave:-Instructions are garbage, look up an installation video.-Megatron parts are great, but the lack of knife in this set is still annoying. After installation, there's a small gap between the shoulder and the body, but this won't impact transformation. The wider shoulders make it harder to use the burning Megatron mode, but not impossible. Most of the issues with the shoulders are gone once you install the new parts and it really elevated the figure for me.-Tidal Wave parts install well, but the back doesn't fit as snugly ad I'd like. No clue how well the new knee parts will hold, but at least it's cheaper than the alternative.Set seems worth it to me.

Got my Armada Nemesis Prime and Air Defense Team in; not much to report that I didn't already cover in my Armada Optimus review ages ago, so I won't go into a lot of detail here. Nemesis has a cool new head sculpt (apparently, his face is supposed to be in the middle of regenerating, though my camera is being shitty again and you can't really see it too well) and comes with a Matrix that's been repainted to look like his Doomstone. He's got the same big cannon and two wrist blasters as Armada prime, and is more or less identical except he's missing the latter's trailer. He's molded in a deep navy blue with black, red, silver, and metallic turquoise accents, though again, my camera is deciding not to cooperate today, so everything looks way darker here than it actually is.As for the Air Defense Team...well, they kinda suck. Runway absolutely refuses to stay attached to Jetstorm (I ultimately ended up using a clear rubber band to hold the two together), and their Star Saber mode really doesn't look all that great in-hand due to everyone's kibble being a bit too noticeable; this extends to their individual vehicle modes as well, where their arms and legs are all sticking out far more than they were on their original toys. I didn't bother trying to transform them after both hearing about the defect on Jetstorm as well as realizing how much of a fuss it is to get them back into Saber mode, so they're staying as-is; my FansHobby version of the team is far less finnicky and does the job while looking a whole lot better anyway.

BUT chest armot, can form nasty stressmarks from tabbing left wing to it. I had to shave it a lot and then hit chest part with heat.So do what you want with that.And I found that Blitzwing fists look great plugged onto Devastator back, like batteries or RE boss weak points. >pics in two days

Personally, I don't care about the scale - I like 'em as big Claymores instead of normal-sized swords, and it's particularly fitting if you give them to 'bruiser' type characters like Grimlock.

I don't care for the way the alt mode works; I'd happily take a more Classics/old school Generations upgrade if it meant a more cohesive alt mode and a better transformation. I don't mean the fact the trailer is separate, but rather the whole thing looks awkward no matter what you do with it. It just feels compromised in a lot of ways, even ignoring the price. Some of the WFC/Legacy/AotP upgrades find a decent sweet spot, but Rodimus is one of those toys that to me feels aimless, like they knew they needed Rodimus but had no clear angle on how to satisfy the purist hell-monster they'd been feeding for years. I think SS86 Megatron has a great robot mode and a better alt mode than Rodimus's, but it's a similar case. A lot of recent figures have this problem to varying degrees because their priorities have gotten warped.It's still not a terrible toy or anything. I just don't like it. Don't like the sculpt, don't like the alt mode, don't like the transformation, just don't care for it.

At that point, the only target customers become the super loyal Hasbro fanboys who will buy anything they put out, which isn't sustainable for the health of the toyline, and is already getting dangerously close to being the case. Variety is the spice of life, so each line needs some fresh choices to avoid stagnation. If the character is lesser known, then the main focus should be on just making a really cool-looking, fun to transform toy, and trusting people to recognize quality when they see it. Unfortunately, with Hasbro's current budget-driven design strategy involving cutting corners at every possible opportunity, it has become uncertain as to whether they can consistently pull off this off.
