sure, though they'll each be Leader class priced because of it.

They already gave us Goldbug, I don't know why they can't do the other 5. They could be easy retools of the existing molds.

>devastator and the MP/commander are so big I have to put them on the ground

SS devastator complete

I think I would like to get my hand on the classic G1 devastator just to see how much improvements are there between the vintage and the current SS

Checking on my local sellers
The encore reissue and the Tonkanator is about the same price

Though for The encore I am afraid the set might be Kos and not to mention the discoloring between the Greens- it is very transparent in the photos

Maybe Tonkanator is a better choice? There are no KO of the thing. And the yellow is a change from the usual green. But that is not really TV devastator though

Both mold should be same right? With the new improvements?

>Encore anime
Yeah no. That thing is like $300 right now

Dreamwave was better than IDW thats for sure. The only bad TF comics ever were IDW. Even the old Marvel comics dunk on IDW. Even if you put aside the massive amounts of pussy ass faggotry in IDW, the designs and the art were vomit inducing

Is anyone able to find the instructions for this online? Hasbro site for instructions seems finnicky for search terms and the unicron site didnt seem to have it either, or not that I can seemingly find. I got a loose autotrooper and could just watch a video or get the ironhide I think it is instructions instead I suppose, but gosh the instructions are hard to find for this pack

same with me. modern transformers are not safe to just 'figure out'
fuckin original tigerhawk had steps that could be very confusing and I often found myself pulling hard on really thin parts of plastic that flexed.. and even the black remold that's like 20 years old or more now.. still didn't break last time i tried to transform him from memory.
>>
>>11594420
I haven't bought much Hasbro stuff since we got headmasters and the WFC stuff. If Bruticus lives up to the hype I will be ok playing that much since I tend to just do 3p purchases these days.

He's cool, I guess. He was also over THIRTY fucking dollars after tax. Like, I guess he's big enough to be considered a deluxe, although a fairly insubstantial one. He's definitely feels a bit hollow in both modes. I know the idea is that size classes are just price points now, but I can't say that I'm feeling that extra $X.XX worth of quality anywhere.

And he's got the same problem as pretty much every transformer I've bought over the past few years—the transformation is unsatisfying and the alt mode feels unfinished. There are a bunch of little tabs and bits that ultimately only seem to affect his final proportions slightly, and I'm not sure why because his proportions are still weird. The whole thing could have been a lot more elegant, I think.

I don't disagree with you. Even with his ridiculous feet, his proportions are still better. Plus he had to have a titan master cockpit in his torso, so I feel like that's the only reason his head gets left out in the cold. And wasn't the MSRP for legends still like 10 bucks at that point?

Honestly though, the new one looks better if you leave his feet un-collapsed. He's still got gorilla arms, but it fixes a lot of my issues with his proportions. It feels like these designers are adding steps and parts to transformations just to try and justify the absurd price points, lol. All these fiddly little panels just for the sake of aesthetics feels like a step backward. It feels very "3P" to me.

>>11594565
>Personally I'm looking forward to every issue
Yeah, I like it. I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm interested in what Kirkman is gonna do as writer. I was just really sad when DWJ stopped doing art back around issue 6 or whenever it was—his page layouts and paneling were excellent. The guy that followed was decent enough at copying his style, but his layouts were fucking snoozeville, and it made me realize that was a big part of my enjoyment.
>>
>>11594575

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with the [current issue spoilers].

I do have to say though... while I respect it from a pose reference standpoint.. it's kind of stupid that the current artist is using yolopark non-transforming figures as VERY OBVIOUS REFERENCE MATERIAL
>>
>>11594553
I completely disagree.

The clearance of the fan frame around his head is hugely important for me, not to mention the new one is a lot more fun to transform than the TR one.

>I remember how angry anons got when the first look at TFA came out
To be fair, it was a pretty bad first look. DJW had this way of making his designs look really unappealing in their stock art, you had to see it motion to get a feel for it.
>>
>>11594583
He managed to make the leap from page to screen, which comic OCs rarely do
But it's the amount of merch he's go since then that feels disproportionate

I read the entirety of their G1 series (not all of War Within though). Only the 1st mini series is dogshit. The 2nd mini and ongoing were actually quite good.

Honestly one of the reasons I like Skybound so much is the first 24 issues try to keep the references to previous Transformers media minimal (mainly a handful of eyerolling 86 movie references) and it mostly tries to do something unique with the Sunbow setting. I hate how self-referential Transformers has become. It's grating when every other line out of a character's mouth is their G1 bio or some quote from the 86 movie.

It's one of those bots of yesteryear that manages to stay relevant just because it's unique and stylish. His posability isn't even bad, it's just that some of his joints are weird. But he makes up for it with a cool, functional alt mode, which is something modern bots fucking suck at.

I find it really funny how some fucking nerd at Yolopark designated a new universal stream. In 2025. I wonder if this is just a one-off thing or if more Transtech representation will happen

>>
>>11594711
Yolopark made 2025 Botcon-exclusive model kit toys and packaged in a story with them. While this botcon was unofficial.. the licensed toys were not, technically, and in the story the universe 'Lady Cliffjumper' comes from is named 'Primax 625.12 Gamma', which is a Transtech-style universal stream designation.

So, Pulse FINALLY decided to send me my Onyx Prime today. He's the one Prime I was actually excited about, and I was getting impatient seeing others with theirs all this time.\
He's bigger than I had expected from pictures, and he's actually a Quad-changer of sorts.
Standard robot mode looks cool and imposing; his hooved feet are digitigrade and have some extra joints that are useful for posing. His shoulders are also on pseudo-butterfly joints, so you can swing them forward a bit if you raise his extra set of legs that are draped over his shoulders. His wings look nice and can move back and forth as well as having a joint in the midsection to make the tips go up and down, but I wish he had a joint at the base of the wing as well for better range of motion in his other modes.
He comes with a spear, the tip of which is actually intended to be a reimagined version of his signature Triptych Mask.
>>
File: Triptych Mask.jpg (246 KB, 1500x2000)
246 KB
246 KB JPG
>>11594871
Speaking of the Triptych Mask - yes, it is indeed possible to make him "wear" it, though it's not documented in his instructions. His chest panel opens up to reveal a little square slot that the armature normally slides up on when in Beast Mode, but the rectangular port on the back of the Mask/Spearhead fits into it perfectly; closing the chest panel (which is slightly curved and conforms perfectly with the cylindrical base of the spearhead) holds it in place, and his forehead fits right into the groove on the raised ridge that runs along the back of the spear. It's not perfect and looks ridiculous, but it works.

>>11594872
Centaur mode. Throw his shoulders forward, unfurl his extra legs so they come down and around, then bend the joint in his midsection; from there, it's just arranging his legs and pushing his robot face up into his helmet to give him a more beastly visage, and he's done. In either mode, his tail detaches and opens to become a bow, and his spear can be attached to a slot on the edge to turn it into a massive arrow. It's honestly pretty ungainly and difficult to pose him with - the length of the spear itself gets in the way of most of his arm articulation. Still, I like that he can go full Sagittarius, and it's definitely my favorite of his four canon modes.
>>
File: Onyx Prime3.jpg (301 KB, 2000x1500)
301 KB
301 KB JPG
>>11594874
Dragon mode. This isn't really much of a transformation - it's just his bipedal robot mode on all fours with the tail moved down slightly and his robot head tucked into his chest while the dragon head hanging off of his back is folded down. It's not the most horrible beast mode I've ever seen, and I was a fan of the Prime Predacons, so it doesn't bother me too much. Technically, the ankle spurs on his hind legs are supposed to fold into his hooves in this form, but I'm keeping them out to further differentiate it from his next form.
His spear plugs into his back for storage, with the Mask detaching and reattaching to one of the pegs on the spear handle's side with the other peg tabs into a slot above his tail cover; the spear can also be tabbed into a slot on the back of either of his wings.

>>11594875
I'm honestly not sure what to call this mode. a Hexa-dragon? Whatever it is, it's official, and has an entire section dedicated to it in his instructions. It's basically the exact same as his dragon mode, except you fold his shoulders forward and flip the extra legs down, using the extra joints on them to shorten them a bit. It definitely looks alien, but doesn't really accomplish much more than the normal dragon mode.
>>
File: Onyx Fanmode.jpg (252 KB, 2000x1500)
252 KB
252 KB JPG
>>11594876
Lastly, I tried out the fanmode an anon here posted a little while back. By repositioning his robot arms and slightly raising his upper torso on the joint used for Centaur mode, the additional legs can be brought forward a bit more, giving him four hooved legs and making him reminiscent of a Hippogriff - albeit one with a dragon head. This mode leaves his torso a bit unstable, since you bend the transformation joint about halfway between its centaur and normal configurations to give the robot arms the clearance they need to move back, plus the robot hands are left kinda hanging out exposed in the rear, but it's still a cool configuration and one I actually have him in on my shelf right now. He has a bunch of other tabs on his body that look like they can be used for other unofficial configurations, though I'll have to play around with him a bit more to see what I can come up with on my own.
Overall, I like him - definitely the most interesting of the Primes released so far. I'm still wondering if they'll do a blue repaint of him for Shockwave-Onyx at some point.
>>
>>11594871
i was so worried that he'd be too badly short-shinned, but really he ended up okay in that department. not great, but better than he looked from the promotional images
>>11594874
but then this, the part I assumed would look good, does not at all. Someone needs to tell them a centaur doesn't have the horse legs right behind the horse arms. yeah you need horse ribs and horse tummy and hips and shit. looks more ridiculous than Motaro. and the tail is the bow? I love weapons storage, but... I want to be able to display a complete-looking centaur archer. also: rule 1 of winged archers is the bow comes from the wings.
>>11594875

It depends on many factors, but stock in general seems low for this line. A unique problem for me is that locally, stores barely stock anything, so it's online or bust. I mostly have to get lucky with sales or ebay.

The other problem for figures is that everything after w2 tends to be a mystery on what will go on sale or sell out. Hell, right now Targets over in the united states are tossing out leaders and some people have gotten them for a few bucks, but others have been denied sales.

I think you have to use the Target app on your phone. You can create a free account, and can add "Circle bonuses" to it that are available each week. Then when you check out at the store, you scan the barcode on your app, and it applies the coupon.

>time to finish Devastator
>switch to Pokemon cards because this season is hype with team Rocket and Mega sets
>...

>no money to finish Devastator
I'm thinking about going back to transformers after i will get couple of cards i need.
Trasnformers is a much better hobby.
In pokemon cards regular "cheap" cards cost like one Deluxe transformer and a card you really need costs way more than a Leader or have even a price of a Titan.
And at the end you just get a thin paper you put in your binder.

I was out of Pokemon Hobby for a year and i felt so happy collecting Dinobots and other SS86 stuff and and it felt SO GOOD having physical chunky heavy objects that just make you feel nice.

Another thing is community. I know TF-community like to argue about stuff but it's not nearly as shitty as Pokemon community filled with absolute dogshit people - investors scalpers NFT-Crypto bros and other degenerates.
They don't even like pokemon cards. Most of them joined yesterday and just want to sell you some garbage.

this is so toxic it eaing your soul
Transformer bros...i betrayed you...hope i still have time to finish Devastator...
>>
>>11594978
Not gonna lie collecting isn't any better here. Scalpers are still a problem with some releases, QC is still inconsistent especially after the omega prime fiasco and the prices have yet again went up. Like 45+ Dollars for a voyager at retail price? 80+ dollars for a trailer-less ss86 prime with a megatron arm? Any more increased price hikes after this and I'm for sure to tap out.
>>
>>11594981
I've been collecting transformers in a long time.
Just saying that i left it for Pokemon for a while.

I was trying to say that owning a physical thing like SS86 Swoop feels so much better than a pokemon card of the same value.

And the community is a constant "YOU ARE POOR! NO +YOU+ ARE POOR LOOK AT MY CARD. HAHA YOU BOTH ARE POOR LOOK AT WHAT I GOT!!!"
what a bunch of fucking normie clowns.

at least tf-community is still just nerds collecting toys
>>
>>11594967
oh okay. thank you! I probably won't bother. apps are not my cup of tea, but good to know. I mean maybe I will and I'll get sky byte for cheap.. or something.
>>11594978
yeahhhh the thing about cards is.. they need to be cheap, to be worth it. like real cheap. How much do booster packs go for these days?
I really miss POGs and I occasionally want to go collect more, but they're not as cheap as you'd hope.
>>
>>11594983
Don't forget the SJW demanding queer representation like the bon binary owl
>>
>>11594983
That's funny, I just ordered an 86 swoop off ebay just yesterday. But I agree, at least the community doesn't have dick measuring contests with their collections, it's all just genuine fun.
>>
Can someone explain to me why voyager got such a crazy price hike compared to deluxe and leaders? 8 dollars is crazy when deluxe wenr up by 3 and leaders by 5. Do voyayers sell that well?
>>
>>11594986
>yeahhhh the thing about cards is.. they need to be cheap, to be worth it. like real cheap. How much do booster packs go for these days?
>I really miss POGs and I occasionally want to go collect more, but they're not as cheap as you'd hope.
I do have a card that costs $600 (i just pulled it from a booster that was $5). Stuff like this keep me in pokemon.
Pokemon is all about money and gambling and it just fills your soul with junk.
So many people in Pokemon community became investors and trying to get rich quick. Pokemon is now a shitty NFT-market only people switched from digital NFTs to physical cards. Lots of crypto-bros moved to pokemon.

It's like this He-Man lesson: https://youtu.be/yJb646u5hno
Man...so many years have passed and He-Man still speaks the truth.

Just be a sane man and do it the right way. Have a healthy hobby (like transformers, lol) and do your job.

They wanted Takara out of the way for years. They claim they have money issues yet somehow have funding for trash lines which dont sell, waste time energy and money on awful shows with prowl saying he thinks the fat ugly black tranny is brave and how he himself is non binary.

Seaspray is mixed feelings. He definitely feels like they tried to overcomplicate a simple design to justify the price point (the most blatant is probably how his boatshoes fold in on themselves). He feels less ... solid than others and might have benefited from tiny wheels so he move around on flat surfaces like other . His robot mode is pretty good at being Seaspray and I like his colors. I feel like the Sideways I got in the same order was the better toy for the price.
Also that might be a problem with toys in general, but the card part of his packaging is far too large for the actual toy.

Finished installing the DNA set for Megatron and Tidal Wave:

-Instructions are garbage, look up an installation video.
-Megatron parts are great, but the lack of knife in this set is still annoying. After installation, there's a small gap between the shoulder and the body, but this won't impact transformation. The wider shoulders make it harder to use the burning Megatron mode, but not impossible. Most of the issues with the shoulders are gone once you install the new parts and it really elevated the figure for me.
-Tidal Wave parts install well, but the back doesn't fit as snugly ad I'd like. No clue how well the new knee parts will hold, but at least it's cheaper than the alternative.

Set seems worth it to me.

I love fembots and femcons.
Even if the cartoon writers didn’t make Nightbird, Arcee, Elita and her crew, or even the Japanese didn’t make Minerva in the 1980s, I feel the franchises would have eventually created fembots for the 21st century regardless.

No modern franchise these days is going to survive being a sausage fest.

MAGA has no involvement in either, with the latter issue not even coming from an American group in general.

As part of the Velocitron storyline, she was literally a Diaclone robot piloted by a human Dianaut woman that got whisked into the Transformers universe alongside Lift-Ticket and his pilot; the process somehow merged them with their mechs, turning them into legit Transformers. At some point they get separated and returned to their proper universe, though I think the mechs remain as their own characters at that point.

it's a new version of the lesson, but it has been seen before.

Disney was so certain that the core Star Wars audience would swallow "anything" that Disney completely targeted the new Rey-era stuff at a different audience. Not only did they NOT gain any new fans, they lost a ton of existing fans.

you can't blame companies for trying new tactics, but it's a lesson they can only learn when they try, and watch it fail

for example, Hasbro already did a 180 on the environmentally-better plastic window-less boxes. that was a disaster, and the windows are back

Check if yours have one of the upper arms reversed, the detailing obviously needs to be mirroring each other. You will need to unscrew the shoulderpard to fix it. Seems like a somewhat common thing in the reissue, I've found three instances of it including mine (and also the stinger being upside down).

Weird thing is, after turning it around the three screws of one arm are on the front side, but on the other they're in the back. I'm wondering if they just use the exact same pieces for both upper arms, as other than that they look the same to the point they even have screwholes on both sides. I remember the japanese designer saying they had to do that with some parts to save space on the molds (the hips are also the same, you can tell by the blast effect port on the front), so maybe that's the reason.

In 2011 deluxes were 7.99. Thats a 275% price increase in 14 years. Our grandparents complained about inflation constantly and it wasnt that bad over the course of their entire lives. In that same 14 years federal minimum wage has never actually gone up. Thus these toys are no longer affordable. Officially a luxury now.

The crazy thing about inflation is that prices never ever go back down. $30 deuxes is our new normal. The sentiment of scaling back and being more selective with purchases seems nearly universal amongst the fandom. You cant just grab a $10 figure anymore. Every single purchase is an investment now and the kicker is that the quailty of the figures didn’t increase with the price

Given the way both halves of the upper arms split on your pic before the fix I can see that yours also has the exact same pieces for both, I guess that the screws are facing different directions after turning around the left arm to the intended position on your copy too.
I think that's exactly what's making the guys at the factory get the position of that arm wrong, they must be using the way they screw both halves as a guide but that ends up with one arm reversed.

Armada Red Alert was $24.99 at retail. Taller than a modern voyager, made out of nigh indestructible plastics, had lights and sounds, a micromaster, and four accessories that stored neatly within both modes. Articulation was nill in the legs and waist, but that was certainly value for your dollar back in '03.

If deluxes with dubious QC are $30 now, what kind of landscape is the market going to be in five years time? I'd rather buy all the CHUG stuff people are slowly rotating out and watch the whole thing burn from a distance.

Ignoring the toy engineering, does anyone else like Kingdom Magnus' look over Commander 86 Magnus or is that just me?

I think the relatively slimmer proportions look better, and are more cartoon-accurate for season 3.

Honestly, if Hasbro ever gets to season 3 in studio series 84 (which is totally happening), I think Kingdom Magnus would be a better mold to use than 86 Magnus.
>>
>>11597349
Kingdom magnus has a way better detailing than ss86

Not really, I guess the proportions are nicer (although I don't mind wide magnus) but everything else about it is unbelievably fuck-ugly

Finally got Triple T Kup (it was marked down) It's actually not bad. Better engineered than the previous 3 G.I. Joe crossovers since there's full articulation and none of that hollow bullshit.
Plus it comes with THE SARGE! It's like they finally figured out how to make these things.
The only thing is Kup is a weird choice considering the other three were all 1st year guys. I feel like it should've been Ironhide.

Got my Armada Nemesis Prime and Air Defense Team in; not much to report that I didn't already cover in my Armada Optimus review ages ago, so I won't go into a lot of detail here. Nemesis has a cool new head sculpt (apparently, his face is supposed to be in the middle of regenerating, though my camera is being shitty again and you can't really see it too well) and comes with a Matrix that's been repainted to look like his Doomstone. He's got the same big cannon and two wrist blasters as Armada prime, and is more or less identical except he's missing the latter's trailer. He's molded in a deep navy blue with black, red, silver, and metallic turquoise accents, though again, my camera is deciding not to cooperate today, so everything looks way darker here than it actually is.
As for the Air Defense Team...well, they kinda suck. Runway absolutely refuses to stay attached to Jetstorm (I ultimately ended up using a clear rubber band to hold the two together), and their Star Saber mode really doesn't look all that great in-hand due to everyone's kibble being a bit too noticeable; this extends to their individual vehicle modes as well, where their arms and legs are all sticking out far more than they were on their original toys. I didn't bother trying to transform them after both hearing about the defect on Jetstorm as well as realizing how much of a fuss it is to get them back into Saber mode, so they're staying as-is; my FansHobby version of the team is far less finnicky and does the job while looking a whole lot better anyway.

Nemesis can obviously still go into Super Mode, but no trailer means no pants, so you're stuck with half a 'bot unless you borrow Prime's trailer. I know he didn't have a super mode on the show, but it still feels a bit like I've been cheated here.

Truck mode looks a little naked without the trailer as well, but at least you can stow both his gun and the merged Star Saber on his bed (or rather, his gun can plug into the truck bed while the saber can plug into one of his exposed hands on the back, letting it lie across the length of the truck bed.
He's neat if you enjoyed Armada Optimus Prime, but he's probably not worth it if you were getting him just for the Star Saber and is missing half of the mold's gimmick (even though that's technically accurate to the show).

Anons should i go for Devastator?
i already have Bonecrusher i bought 2 months ago and our eu-Amazon has all the remaining formers.

i just...
>everything else is overpeiced for some reason
>at the end it will be a huge pile of action figures or a very big figure
>and i already have too many toys
I'm thinking of just skipping Devastator and just getting Bruticus in the future (i like bruticus more and i already have Vortex too)...

Might just buy that reissue of Grimlock or a Blue Grimlock and be done with it.
i'd love to have Devastator but man...tha'ts A LOT OF FIGURES and i already have many and Bruticus will add lots of figures too...

I have 4/6 of them and I like them in combined mode only. My Scrapper had loose hips, Bonecrusher in arm mode required a lot of work to not be floppy shit, Hook and Long Haul are great. BUT chest armot, can form nasty stressmarks from tabbing left wing to it. I had to shave it a lot and then hit chest part with heat.

So do what you want with that.

And I found that Blitzwing fists look great plugged onto Devastator back, like batteries or RE boss weak points.

Yeah... i just can't buy too many toys anymore. If you are an adult you probably started to collect back in the 2010s and in 2025 you can't just buy fucking new 6+ figures... You have to think carefully about it...

But at the same it's Devastator and if i will miss this window - in the future i won't be able to buy him anymore due to an insane overprice on Ebay/etc...
>>

True - but both the originals and the FH ones at least VAGUELY resemble one (with the red one there being the best-looking because it's all one uniform color). The newest one has too much kibble visible and is too fat with a very stumpy handle - it just looks like a mid-air collision.

They're scaled for FH's figures, which are roughly Masterpiece-sized. Personally, I don't care about the scale - I like 'em as big Claymores instead of normal-sized swords, and it's particularly fitting if you give them to 'bruiser' type characters like Grimlock.

Thunderwing.

>>

I remember hearing bad things about Rhinox, but own neither.
>>
>>11598327
Mirage, Tracks, and Hoist have all had multiple toys from Classics up through modern Generations. I'd much rather see characters who haven't gotten updated toys at all yet, or have only had one attempt that was awful, or completely the wrong scale, or was just a lazy repaint that looked nothing like the actual character beyond the colors.
>>
>>11598366
Kingdom Rhinox LOOKS okay, but the transformation is total ass.

Overall the T30 figure was just better.
>>
>>11598372
Such as?
>>
>>11598352
Depends on who you ask. I don't care for the way the alt mode works; I'd happily take a more Classics/old school Generations upgrade if it meant a more cohesive alt mode and a better transformation. I don't mean the fact the trailer is separate, but rather the whole thing looks awkward no matter what you do with it. It just feels compromised in a lot of ways, even ignoring the price. Some of the WFC/Legacy/AotP upgrades find a decent sweet spot, but Rodimus is one of those toys that to me feels aimless, like they knew they needed Rodimus but had no clear angle on how to satisfy the purist hell-monster they'd been feeding for years. I think SS86 Megatron has a great robot mode and a better alt mode than Rodimus's, but it's a similar case. A lot of recent figures have this problem to varying degrees because their priorities have gotten warped.

It's still not a terrible toy or anything. I just don't like it. Don't like the sculpt, don't like the alt mode, don't like the transformation, just don't care for it.

I'm still salty that Thunderwing didn't win the PotP fan poll for a leader class figure. Being a Pretender (especially a Mega Pretender) would have fit PERFECTLY with that line's theme for its leader figures being smaller guys that power up to become larger guys by fitting inside part of them! Plus, he demonstrated affinity with the matrix in the old Marvel comics, so it even would have worked lore-wise with the concept of the line. And who knows, if it had turned out well, maybe it might've encouraged Hasbro to try giving a few of the other Pretenders a similar treatment instead of the little "prime masters" dudes.
>>
>>11598387
I'm salty Star Saber was in the poll at all
He should have been in by default given it's his whole play pattern
>>
>>11598387
The poll was an attempt at fan engagement that backfired on them because they didn't think about how people vote in polls.
>>
>>11598387
No one knew what PotP's gimmick was going to be at the time of the poll.
>>
>>11598378
There are plenty to choose from. The Triggerbots, the Firecons, the remaining Throttlebots and Pretenders, several Action Masters, the Monster Pretenders, just to name a few. If you count the European exclusives in the transition period before G2, that also opens the doors to other groups like the Turbomasters and Predators. This isn't even an exhaustive list.
>>
>>11598386
Transmetals would probably be a bit of a budget-buster given they'd have to have enough parts to work their third-mode gimmicks in.
>>
>>11598396
But those guys aren't poplar. Going to turn into more "16.99 on Amazon" if they make them.
>>
>>11598388
PotP was full of stupid/strange decision making.
>>
>>11598401
>But those guys aren't poplar.

That's what double-packs are for. That's how we got a surprisingly nice Ruckus.
>>
>>11598397
Either they get bumped up one size class above expected or they eliminate the third mode based on how other recent Transformers have been.
>>
>>11598394
That's true, but we did know it was supposed to a the next Matrix bearer. Not only was Thunderwing a far more interesting choice than half the options (including the winner, Optimus Primal), but it would have been a great follow up to the concept of the Matrix Quest storyline from the G1 comics. So, even if fans didn't know beforehand that the gimmick would have been perfect for a Pretender, it was still disappointing to see the fans make such a boring choice.
>>
>>11598414
That'd be pretty devastating for a Transmetal Rattrap.

>>
>>11598251
shit, that really looks cool. like the car alone looks cool. no idea how you'd fucking get INTO it, but
>>
>>11598401
It's a double-edged sword, because the more popular guys have already been re-done so many times, that eventually you get to the point where nobody will want to buy a new version of a character you already have five or ten perfectly good toys of, especially with prices continually climbing higher. At that point, the only target customers become the super loyal Hasbro fanboys who will buy anything they put out, which isn't sustainable for the health of the toyline, and is already getting dangerously close to being the case. Variety is the spice of life, so each line needs some fresh choices to avoid stagnation. If the character is lesser known, then the main focus should be on just making a really cool-looking, fun to transform toy, and trusting people to recognize quality when they see it. Unfortunately, with Hasbro's current budget-driven design strategy involving cutting corners at every possible opportunity, it has become uncertain as to whether they can consistently pull off this off.
>>
>>11598422
Yeah, it's my opinion, and I'll stick to it. Optimus Primal was a boring choice because he already held the matrix for a time in the Beast Wars cartoon when he turned into Optimal Optimus, and had a great figure depicting him in that form. There was nothing new or interesting about choosing him for this. On the other hand, several other options had never had the matrix, so a toy of one of them powered up by it would have been something that hadn't been done before. The Matrix Quest comics were simply a lore-driven reason it would have fit Thunderwing well, but almost any other choice (except Ultra Magnus who also had held the matrix) would have been better than Primal.
>>
>>11598414
Yeah, they'd probably just have their beast modes, and then a half-baked third mode involving tucking a couple legs almost out of sight, and then clipping on tiny, unpainted wheels or thrusters. Plus, there's no way modern Hasbro would go the extra mile to give them that vac-metal chrome finish on some of their parts.
>>
>>11598443
I'd have been more interested if it involved a new design for Optimal Optimus.
>>
>>11598443
You have autism. No one gave a shit about the matrix lore, it was an excuse to get a new toy of the winner. Optimus Primal was way more popular than Thunderwing and back in 2017 the latest Primals were the Masterpiece and reissues. It was a different time when Beast Wars figures were far less common than they are now.
>>
>>11598443
Even the way that question is phrased in the ad doesn't properly explain that and sounds more like a general popularity poll (plus Optimus Prime was a downgraded remake of Optimal Optimus with his original self as an attachment instead of new design anyway). You are shifting blame to fans for Hasbro being inept.
>>
>>11598448
Imagine if they were just retools of the existing Beast Wars guys on top of that.

Like I said, the Matrix Quest comics are simply why I would have preferred Thunderwing, but literally any other choice (besides Ultra Magnus) would have been more interesting than Optimus Primal. Shockwave? Sure! Star Saber? Why not? Of course Primal was more popular than Thunderwing back in 2017, but popularity doesn't make something interesting. But instead, online spergs from places like Allspark and TFwiki salavated at the idea of a character who already held the matrix... holding the matrix. Wow, bravo.
