>Thoughts on Transformers 10?

Can't be assed to care anymore

>Predictions?

Too much focus on human characters with secondary focus on Optimus and whoever has the Bumblebee role this time. Everybody else will have one sentence's worth of characterization and do nothing interesting. Lots of toys that won't sell and will clog up store shelves for years.

>Hopes?

That this'll be the last one.
>>
>>11613916
>>Hopes
Coherent editing and script. Not over stuffed with plot lines that should be allowed to breath. No world ending threat again.
>>Predictions
Overly long with with very loose script that's more or less the same as it's always been. Explosions are big and the movie comes in on budget.

eh, someday. when i have the time to really watch and enjoy the spectacle. I did enjoy those movies.
>>11613951
i just, i thought 4 set up quintessa, then 5 was like "meh" and did a plot about dragons and shit. that's how I remember it, 4 had a TON of flaws, some of the WORST human parts, yet it actually built up to an intriguing plot for the first time. then 5 shat all over the story, but somehow gave us the best human parts of the entire pentalogy.
>>
>>11613916
I don't think Bay is capable of producing a hit blockbuster movie in current year, his style of film-making has become old hat after the MCU, Star Wars and other such movies ran the CGI slapfest concept to the ground. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, though.
>>11613918
>Too much focus on human characters with secondary focus on Optimus and whoever has the Bumblebee role this time.
Lorenzo already admitted they have to focus on humans and their drama in these movies because they don't have the budget to have the big CGI characters on-screen at all times.
>>
>>11613948
>did she actually?
Yep. She took on a human form and was talking about waking up Unicron in the post-credits stinger.
>>
>>11613967
huh, totally missed that. could have been cool. though obviously unicron can't actually be woken up or the series is over, so the best I could see is like, she begins to partially revive him and a bunch of his drones appear out of the ground, a la Prime. and the world experiences earthquakes and storms, but that's it.

Predictions?
- i'd like to think some writer actually takes notes on what worked on previous movies and the very few seconds of giant robots would be midly entertaining
- 60 minutes of human doing stuff
- another Mcguffing plot
- something happened on earth on the past, but nobody new till this movie
- robots doing one or two terrible jokes

>Hopes?
- just make good toys about it, at this point is the only point I genuinely, but also:
- stupid but higly entertaing and re-watchable
- humans actively joining the fight in mech suits or whatever
-at least one combiner
- make every robot action scene epic
- a solid ending
>>
>>11614003
if you're GONNA have humans participating, I'm super okay with mech suits. Ideally just one, suggesting it's really hard to make something like that.

>What's a Cryotek?
He was a Cybertronian mob boss who had previously worked under Deathsaurus before breaking off and forming his own criminal empire. The Predacons who would later become Megatron, Terrorsaur, Waspinator, and Scorponok all originally worked for him, but when Cryotek planned a heist to steal the Golden Disk on a tip that it contained a message from G1 Megatron etched into it, BW Megs betrayed him and stole it for himself, hiring Dinobot as extra muscle and Tarantulas to decode the message for him instead before stealing a Transwarp-capable ship. As Megatron set off for primitive Earth, setting off the opening scene of the Beast Wars cartoon, Cryotek was arrested and dragged off to a high-security prison, which he later escaped from when Megatron came back and conquered Cybertron.
The 3H comics elaborate on his fate further - Megatron initially came to him to help him remove his dragon Beast Mode, but Cryotek planned on stealing it for himself so he could use its power to conquer Cybertron instead; while he succeeded in giving himself the Beast Mode, he failed to remove it completely from Megatron (who just regenerated it, the same way he kept doing in BM), and ended up putting himself into a coma. When he woke up, Megatron had stolen his research for making a Stasis-Lock Virus and had used it to take over the planet already.
Then he runs off to New Quintessa, does a bunch of evil shit, and eventually gets defeated (but not killed) by Sentinel Maximus.
>>11614073
>was it on the sprue?
It was on the original TM2 Megatron sprues. While it was decided to remove the pilot from all of the Megatron releases and the Western release for Cryotek, the Takara release didn't bother and just left it as-is.

As far as toys go we'll never have a stretch like 2006-2011 again. Studio Series is often a downgrade.

As far as the film itself goes who the fuck knows? I don't think it will do 2007 numbers either, but I could easily see it outperforming the last several movies if Paramount plays it right and Bay comes at it with more spirit.

i guess my biggest hope is that its a good film that reignites some real passion in the brand.

I feel a bit more confident in Bay now than i would've back in 2017 cause if he's actually serious and passionate about it, i think it'll be rather solid. Bay can be rather good when he actually wants to be (first Transformers, The Rock, Pain and Gain in particular are great), i want the Bayhem but less stupid but insanely cool if that makes sense.

I'd love to see Ironhide return, i don't really care if its like a proper sequel to TLK or it continues from where ROTB left off or its just soft rebooted again. continuity is fucked anyways, just have fun with it.

I really want some fresh new designs that would make for exciting toys. a movie so good it'll make me buy the entire cast.

oh and Megatron is in it and he's not a jobber.
>>
>>11614409
only in the last dozen or so episodes that aired in 1986.

season 2 is such a wild beast of a season cause the first dozen or so episodes are still writing with the '84 product line like they're late season 1 episodes, then the 85 product line is finally introduced out of nowhere without any explanation and for a majority of the season they are the focal point until we get to the Key to Vector Sigma episodes and then the combiners dominate the last few episodes before the movie. the show already had 16 episodes with season 1, so they greenlit 49 more episodes just to get to that sweet spot of 65 episodes for syndication cause back then that was the most lucrative thing and why almost every show or cartoon had that many episodes minimum if it wasn't a flop from the get go.

would kill for another Transformers show with 65 or so episodes again. last show that did that was Rescue Bots Academy but no one watched that.

And Beast Wars - stealing the disk for G1 Megatron's message was his idea, BW Megs just mutinied and ran off with it before Cryotek could backstab him.
>so did hasbro toss those out or did they put a lil block in the mold gate?
Not sure. All I know is that the little 'pilot' was part of the original gimmick for him (it's known Tigerhawk was supposed to get one, too, and there's a possibility OpOp also would have included one) that was supposed to be a projection of their Sparks for some reason. The gimmick was dropped because Hasbro ultimately decided it would confuse kids into thinking they were actual pilots a la Diaclone and thus defeat the whole mythos of Transformers being sentient, autonomous robots, but the chairs and bubble cockpits remained as a holdover of the idea. Since the chairs were on all releases, the pilots that were supposed to sit in them had to have been part of the sprues somewhere, and were still included with the mold when Cryotek came around.

Guaranteed that quintus is botanica pretool, then swap head, chest and hands and go for blue/yellow, possibly tweak any kibble into a more flower-y shape than the space needle thing.

But it'll be a Walmart/pulse exclusive with either cheetor or BM Rattrap

How do you know that is the case, and not just the new tooling specific to this license?
>>
>>11615396
>They'll be no A-Team retool.
Exactly. And that's why Hasbro won't get my money.
>>
>>11615407
Hasbro owns the mold for Onslaught and Siege Sideswipe, which is what Ectotron and Gigawatt are retooled from. They can use Onslaught and Sideswipe however they want, for obvious reasons. They can't use the Ectotron and Gigawatt tooling because the new tooling made on the Onslaught and Sideswipe molds to create Ectotron and Gigawatt belong to those license owners. Oh, and same for the Kingdom Cheetor mold used for Kurama from Naturo, the TR molds used for the Street Fighters, the Universal Monsters and whatever else I may be forgetting.

Then there's the brand new molds created for all the other Crossover figures like TMNT, Ghost Rider, Top Gun, Jurassic Park, Stranger Things, Naturo, ect. These are brand new molds created just for these licensing deals. It's very likely that they can't be used for anything other than the collabs, that's usually how these types of deals work. We never saw the Chevy Aveo mold reused for anything either and that was a good era for reusing molds just because they could.

Okay, Liolaeus Prime.
MAN they tied this guy down in the box. my nippers can't seem to cut these either though. Reminding me of Marahute.
The irony of the beast mode is that the main thing making it not look good are the beefy chest and pauldrons that attempt to bulk out Airazor's tiny frame. They really could have folded those away somehow or partsformed them for a longer tail. The thigh armor partsforms after all
The fact that the matrix plugs into the back of the beast mode's craw, rather than the robot mode chest, amuses me.. why did they bother?
pretty surprised the hip skirts don't plug in, but it's fine.
The Japanese instructions are surprisingly low-IQ-proof. They carefully tell you to raise the arm before putting the weapon in the hand..
Overall he's good, but not worth the price

Because the "Matrix" is a Rathalos Ruby, a specific, rare material you carve out of a Rathalos once you kill it. Rath Rubies (and all other monster "gems") are similar in nature to an oyster pearl, and form inside the body, usually around the torso cavity rather than inside the chest. Rath Prime's is stored in roughly the correct area.

fascinating. using some clear lacquer-based paint (on account of that's the only way I could get cool gray) on this clearance Tigatron, to keep the stripe deco but make him a cool foghat-gray tiger instead.
and the paint, or more likely the thinner in it that makes it suitable for airbrushing, took the stripes off of his thighs, but ONLY his thighs. Was that a totally different kind of paint in that one spot? was it a different kind of plastic it's adhering to? the thighs are among the parts that have that very unnecessary orange wash, was that done BEFORE the stripes were put down?

either way, if you ever try it, be careful. and also make sure the room is ventilated. that stuff gives my tissues a tingle. I think my sense of taste is at 80%.

Would you prefer the boxman of the marvel comics then? This is the true and original design of Prima.

I always found funny how hard Aligned failed. It was always laughable nonsense that nobody followed immediately after. What a great bible that subsequent projects were supposed to follow. Remember when WfC and FoC were supposed to be in the same continuity as the Prime cartoon? Never was able to take that shit seriously, and the whole Thirteen thing felt like corny fanfiction trying to make things mysterious and deep. Designs were pretty ass too, glad the toys are only partially inspired by them.

Yes. In Marvel, Prima was created by Primus. As he should be. Slapping the Prima name on a Quintesson built worker bot that we see die, get recycled as a gladiator and then die again is incongruous with that established lore.
I couldn’t care less what he looks like.

The lore on the G1 cartoon is different, that lore you talk about wasn't even established yet and name slaps have been a thing in this franchise since forever. Why is it so terrible that one of the first Autobots in the cartoon was named Prima too?

Unironically yes, not just because of that other anon's lore silliness, but because I just like the idea of Prima being such a generic boxman instead of some "holy literal white-knight" bs that Aligned made up. That and I'm just an unapolegetic comics fanboy. If they recolored and headswapped the current Prima toy to look like this guy (or the yellow+maroon version from G2), I'd snap it up immediately lawl.

So what? Not every Prima needs to be part of the thirteen. The very first Prima, the one from the Marvel comics, wasn't. Stop being so autistic about the name of a robot from a toy commercial, it's not like this franchise is high art as media goes, most of it is mid to terrible.

I'm still pissed they cancelled core class dinobot

vertebreak was one of the more fun core classes and I assume her mold would be the basis for core class dinobot's tooling

anyway; core class cope aside... Does anyone else think that dinobot's Cybertronian body should be a helicopter and not the motorcycle/excavator it's been previously. I mean, his cyberslash tail weapon is close enough to rotors as it is.
>>
>>11617347
They used the t30 toy as a cybertronian form in the awful uprising fan fiction. It worked well, specially because of the t30 sword.
>>
>>11617324
I feel you honestly. I bought a Studio Seroes RoTB Primal who was missing his accessories for $20 at a Flea Market. It bugged me in the long run, and I was never able to find loose replacements.

What did you get? May be easier to find the missing parts on the aftermarket than wkth a modern toy.

I would love a core clas dinobot so much. I really wish core class didnt die. I really appreciated having these small fun versions of all the characters.
>>
>>11617347
huh.. rotor. maybe. but I feel like he would have scanned a flying altmode. The raptor is the motorcycle of dinosaurs, even if he is the second largest guy in the cast.
excavator doesn't suit him much at all, but that toy did rule.
I would make him.. hmmm.. i feel like he'd have a cybertronian mode completely. A sleek futurecar not unlike an Arwing.
>>
>>11617359

For $10
I say it is pretty good. I like it better than the regular non-sd version.
The non sd kits feel redundant with how accurate the mainline toys are. Can't wait for Soundwave

Though do be careful with the sticker for the eye.
The sticker is plastic so it does not contour. The width of the sticker is just a bit wider than the visor piece so if you don't trim a bit of the left and right, the sticker will be forced peeling from the visor. Trimming it will give room for the sticker to stay flat

Prima was a Simon Furman creation from issue #65 of the original G1 comic.

>that's literally jim sorenson fanfic
Am I the only other person who hates almost everything that came out of "Ask Vector Prime" or Jim Sorenson-style guidebooks? Here you have people whose only contributions to Transformers fiction was stuff like obscure convention/club stories that hardly anyone remembers or cares about, but despite failing to make a genuine, positive impact through traditional creative means, took it upon themselves to try to define massive swaths of supposed canon by describing non-existent stories rather than actually telling those stories, all while riding on the coattails of people far more successful than them.

Any sane fandom would outright ignore every bit of this, but because the TFwiki is frothing at the mouth to create entire new pages for any tiny tidbit of lore in a collective circle-jerk of showing off to each other how well versed they are in obscure trivia, people have ended up pretending this stuff matters. And even worse, Hasbro employees now use it as references.

Finally freed my Missing Link Cordon (and his little Dianaut buddy) from my Private Warehouse, and I'm loving him - just like with ML Prime, he's got some nice heft to him and a solid transformation with all of the necessary updates. He includes some Hulk Hands to mimic his original toy look, though he can't transform with those attached (his modernized hands are small enough to flip into his arms, though), as well as some missiles and his rifle. Also has a sticker sheet, but since he comes prepainted, there's no need to really use any of them (though I did put one on his spoiler).
It's funny just how much higher the quality of these ML toys is compared to all of the modern figures that have come out in recent years; I'm looking forward to getting both of my ML Arcees, who I just got an invoice for a few days ago.
>>11618469
>How is that one?
Which one - the repaint of his Mega toy, or the repaint of the Basic one? I'm going to assume you're talking about the Basic (this version is named 'Stockade' and came with Magna Stampede). The mold is decent and is a fairly accurate representation of Tankor's show model (especially if you get the 'Tank Drone' repaint instead of the official 'Tankor' one, which I ended up getting a bit after taking that pic and whose deco is far more show accurate). Unfortunately, the mold has zero outward shoulder movement, and getting his cannon up into 'attack position/ the way its seen on the show requires lifting his entire back panel, which just looks awkward from any angle that isn't the front. It's also TINY, so you really can't pair him with any of the other characters - not even other Basics, because Tankor is supposed to tower over them.

Well, remember - this is a 41-year-old mold with modern joints added to it. It was literally one of the first transforming car toys ever, so it's going to look awkward - your design, on the other hand, has that 40+ years of previous engineering knowledge already taken into consideration, since you know from your own childhood toys what works and what doesn't. The awkwardness is part of the charm of Missing Link, though, and I've never owned any version of this specific character until now anyway, so I think he's cool.
>the cab to remain the cockpit in the torso
Actually, that's kinda what's going on here - the robot head was a bit of an afterthought on the original design, since he was a Diaclone figure who had a pilot until Hasbro added him to their Transformers line. His cab is still a cockpit, and his little Dianaut friend can still sit in him without you ever having to remove him (though he faces down instead of forward). It's even possible to mistransform him in such a way that the cockpit can indeed point forward and act as a 'head' if you wanted, though it looks even more awkward than the normal transformation.
>>
>>11618671
well that's just it, it kinda didn't. I had a few transforming cars as a kid, but I mostly missed vehicle transformers. in fact the one I thought up, in its initial stage at least, was closer to the Blue Senturion's car from Power Rangers Turbo.
I actually remember making some transformers designs as a kid, and they basically changed the way the mutatin' TMNT figures did. that was my only idea..
>cab
oh yeah, so he's like Ironhide then. Well I meant his cab IS still his torso so like, yeah perfect place for a pilot to sit. i was trying to imagine how a nice plush seat car could do that.. it gets messy
>>
>>11618685
also i drew that thing in 2000, so it was only 16 years of transforming history, but yeah

>they basically changed the way the mutatin' TMNT figures did
in other words, you used the already established transformation schemes of the TMNT toys as the inspiration for your design. But the original Transformers/Diaclone toys had no predecessors to draw inspiration from the way you did - they were inventing the engineering as they went along. You understand the difference, right?
>>
>they make a van that can use cassettes

>for a stranger things crossover

>>
>>11618728
Oh yeah totally, I'm just saying, I didn't have decades of good designs to help me, I had maybe a single decade of relatively bad designs. So it's no shock mine wasn't that good, I was just surprised to see a ML looking this awkward.
though as you pointed out, most of it is the head.

Wonder if they'd ever actually do a ML Galvatron. ML Megatron is off the table because he turned into a gun, and given OG Galvatron was a triple-changer that had a handgun as one of his modes, he might be off-limits as well. It's not like they can remove the third mode - the whole point of Missing Link is to remake the original toys with modern articulation - but I guess it might be possible if they left the gun mode 'unadvertised' in the instructions...

This guy has such a neat and well engineered Transformation, just to end up looking kinda goofy no matter what. I love him though. Head sculpt is pretty cool and his light piping is surprisingly effective (seemingly a commonality amongst the Beast Machines toys I've been buying).

Not sure exactly what his gimmick arm is about, I got him used so I don't know if its working right. I also the tail on his arm could fold away somehow, even if not entirely. Just a little but, or even an articulated wrist. Though perhaps in the designs mind the tail was to also become a "grabber arm". When I was a kid I often pretended my Dragon Megatron was grabbing things with his tail which was clearly supposed to be a claw. His pinky toes are also on the inside which is unusual. This is evidently so for the mold itself, not merely my toy.
>>
>>11620700
Some other oddities: He was not sold with any accessories whatsoever, yet he has a 6mm hole in his hand to weild things. In 2025 we have an overwhing amount of compatible accessories.

But in 1999/2000, what would he have been made to use? Does anybody know? Was he originally intended to be packed in with something?
>>
>>11620700
>his guy has such a neat and well engineered Transformation, just to end up looking kinda goofy no matter what.
He's just a simplified version of the previous TM2 Megatron toy, really. His 'third mode' where he wraps his wings around himself like a cape is supposed to mimic his appearance in BM where he straps himself into his Control Harness, though for some reason the toy makes his Harness's mask part of his actual head.
>Not sure exactly what his gimmick arm is about, I got him used so I don't know if its working right.
Which one? The dragon-headed arm is the same as before, so not really gimmicky. The other one was supposed to be a bare arm, and has no tail attached to it on the show - said tail was moved to his arm to help simplify his transformation scheme from the TM2 Ultra Class toy; it folds back a bit, but you're just supposed to ignore it's there.
>His pinky toes are also on the inside which is unusual.
They're Dew Claws; they're on the right sides of his feet, but should be a bit smaller and further back.
>>11620703
>Was he originally intended to be packed in with something?
Nope, he came with no accessories whatsoever. The peg hole lets him hold accessories from other BM toys (Mirage's gun, Battle Unicorn's axe and flail, etc), but he had none of his own. Again, on the show he just had a normal robot arm there due to this just being TM2 Megaron with a slight cosmetic change from the previous series.
>>
How do we end this pandemic?

Is this any ways to maybe get them banned from youtube?
>>
>>11620722
Really curious why they didn't just retool TM2 megateon honestly. Change the wings so they go robe mode, and he already had a weird visor that could easy have a Facemask added to it. Surely this was cheaper than designing a whole new toy right?
>>
>>11620725
Shut up faggot. Pick one, if any, that you like and watch them. Nobodys making you watch all or any of them.
>>
>>11620727
>Really curious why they didn't just retool TM2 megateon honestly.
Because TM2 Megs was an Ultra-Class toy with a firing launcher gimmick and actual third alt mode (some kind of dragster) built in, while the BM version was a Mega-class toy that had those gimmicks stripped from it. He's made with fewer moving pieces and (I believe) is a little bit smaller than his original TM2 toy as well.

Having something resembling a script prepared really does make all the difference
That and some basic video editing
>>
>>11620799
>Thew
>writing scripts
I actually preferred his older review style where he was clearly just rambling thoughts out in front of a camera then cutting the best stuff together. I didn't even care that the camera quality was shit because his reviews weren't about actually seeing/analyzing the toy, but just funny thoughts and observations. Nowadays he's too overly-scripted, and every line is some kind of pun or reference, and it comes off as forced and tiresome. But that's become his whole "brand" so he has to stick to it and play it up to keep the patrons happy.

It's funny, he recently did that ROTF Wheelie review, purposefully copying the style of his own reviews from 15 years ago, and it was so much better than his current output. I wonder if he or any of his patrons realized that.
>>
>>11620826
>his reviews weren't about actually seeing/analyzing the toy,
yeah it's funny how little this matters now. 15+ years ago, a video review was often your best way to get a look at a figure from all angles, but nowadays we get so many HD, in-hand photos of things before they're even released. I suppose a video review is still helpful if you want to actually see articulation/transformation in action, but Thew never really showed off either of those things to begin with.
>>
>>11620826
I'd say my problem with modern Thew, and it doesn't happen in every video, is that he can be too saccharine.
The Autorollers video rubbed me wrong because of it.
He reviews based mostly on vibes but that lost all trace of objectivity
>>
>>11620837
>he can be too saccharine.
He's been too saccharine for a solid decade now. I suppose the difference is that he used to actually call himself out on it, whereas now it's just standard operating procedure. I was still kind of surprised that he ultimately disliked ML Bee/Cliff though, but I guess he does seem like the kind of guy who would label updated G1 molds as some kind of sacrilege out of principle.
>>
>>11620859
>he does seem like the kind of guy who would label updated G1 molds as some kind of sacrilege out of principle
I don't remember if he did an actual review of missing link prime, but I remember he unboxed one he got as a gift from some viewer, and I was cringing at every comment he made because he was just pointing out how uncanny/weird/bad all the differences from the G1 mold were, and it made him seem ungrateful for what was a really expensive and thoughtful gift that most of his fans would have probably killed to get their hands on.

C'mon man, you know it's because it's his most recognizable performance. That'd be like introducing Kaye as "The voice of Prime from Animated". Like, you're technically correct, but you know that's not why people are there.
>>
>>11621087
>Do people just forget that he was also Optimus all through the UT?
Yes, because UT fucking sucks and nobody gives a shit about it, and it has no rewatch value, especialy in current year. The toys are cool, but Garry Chalk didn't voice the toys, so...

That said, I unironically prefer Garry Chalk as a "heroic transformer leader". He's got way better range than Cullen and is simply a better actor, overall—honestly Cullen was largely awful for the first two seasons of G1. I don't know how the hell he gets any praise. His performance in the 86 movie is so much better that I have to assume someone forked up the money to get him acting lessons for his big screen debut. Just in time for Prime to get killed, lmao.

it's much bigger than i expected (i thought it's close to legends class like Terrorsaur and i expescted it to be shit because Terrorsaur can't even stand)

BUT IT'S AWESOME
it's heavy and sturdy
it has gimmick-gun shooting and lots of stuff

i'll do some more later

The Wolfang version of that mold was one of my favorite Maximals when I was a kid. Shame that his mold degraded so much during his modern reissue - the pegs on his elbow joints are virtually nonexistent, so his arms fall off if he's holding his gun or shield. K9 legs keep falling off if you try to pose them by pressing too much (instead just take a leg and pose it - not press on a fit trying to change position-it will pop the leg off).
Even if i put it in a plastic bag in my backpack-when i returned he was with legs separated...

>>
>>11621807
Yeah the devastator is in progress.
Yep - im talking about reissue grimlock. the last chance to get him for ~60. Outside of amazon he's going for ~100
>>
>>11621809
Check some stores, they might have Grimlock on sale. Especially now that its the holidays.
>>
>>11621804
Which country are you in? Somewhere in Europe? Do you already have the other Constructicons? Do you mean 86 Grimlock?

Decided to go with constructicons.

Grimlocks are still available and at least there is that blue option.
Constructicons situation in my country is CRAZY.
picrelated is the last "cheap" option and then it[s up to 200euros.

At least i'm less stressful - the main part of Devastator is finally mine.
I'll put it under Christmas Tree and pretend to be super happy haha!
>>
>>11621815
I went with Devastator parts.
at least there is still blue Grimlock for cheaper if the "main one" won't be available.
But if i will miss devastator torso-it will be a GAME OVER
>>
>>11621804
Why are the colors so ugly and washed out on Devastator? Like, holy shit. I remember seeing early test shots and complaining, and some anon told me they were definitely going to "pump up the green" before the final release, but obviously that never happened.

I have Grimlock (the blue one), honestly get that. It’s pretty much perfect.
>>
>>11621818
86 Constructicons can definitely look a lot better (or a lot worse) depending what lighting you have them in. I've taken pics of them/him on sunny and cloudy days and it's a big difference.

yeah it's pretty different depending on lightning
For example this google search one is super colorful.

If they would make him colorful from the very beginning he would look way too saturated
I like him as current "calm" colors

86 devastator can look good with any mood.
It's a shame i didnt finish him before winter
i wanted to see how 86 Dev. looks in autumn colors next to fallen leaves or something like that
>>
>>11621818
You misunderstood. "Pump up the green" means they pumped up the amount of money (green) he was going to cost.
>>
>reissue of SS32 Optimus
Isn't that the one they later sold with the DotM trailer that turns into wings?
>>
>>11621402
>he's got hella range.
I've never heard it. In the first two seasons of G1, he's actually just plain bad. I think people mistake his awkward deliveries in an attempt at John Wayne to be "range", but he's arguably one of the worst VAs out of the principal cast. It's pretty clear they only hired him for the tone of his voice, and not his acting ability. He was better in the 86 movie, but I wouldn't say he had any "range" there, either—pretty much every line is the same stoic/wooden deliveries he gave in the Bayverse and Prime. Cullen is just a one-trick pony. But hey, he made a legacy out of it, good for him.

>>11621143
>At the very least G1 had Wally Burr
Yeah, Wally Burr was just a caliber of voice actor that does not exist anymore. I liked Michael Bell (Prowl, Sideswipe, etc) as well, but he actually got better with age; in the Devastation video game from 2015, his performance was head-and-shoulders above the rest of the cast—a rare case of an actor somehow having MORE attitude as an old man.

I ended up playing as Sideswipe most of the time because of it, lol. All of his snarky remarks were perfect as I was trashing endless waves of Decepti-creeps. Fuck, I can't believe that was 10 years ago already.

ahh I always liked that guy. Back then the shield didn't bug me, the weird krelbows didn't bother me, the way his missiles slot right into him, the way his dog head halves are conspicuously hollow so they look kinda dumb... his proportions (you didn't completely close his abs btw, that's to give him a longer dog torso), once you are enough of a kid to not mind those, he's amazing

Dude it's a toy from the 90s. Of course it's coming from a place of 'we can do better now' and it'd be disingenuous of me to just pour my teenage adoration of this figure all over it, giving it a sloppy blowjob of a review. I fuckin loved it, and now, even though I see its flaws, it's still a great toy and I can see why I loved it back then.

Whatever drama wars going on, don’t care, just know you can pick up terrorsaurs for cheap at your local ollies, or how I wish Gigastorm would get a new interpretation that is a full mix of ultra kaiju/tank/dinosaur vs trypticon being just super rex/city/spaceship

For those of you who are at loggerheads at the idea of another fragile Star Saber included with the AOTP Nemesis Prime, forget about that Star Saber and have a reminder that an opaque Star Saber did exist, and it's the rarest fucking thing in existence, being available as part of Kabaya's candy toy Change Micron line. Other combining Mini-Con teams, namely Roadstorm, the Skyboom Shield, and the Requiem Blaster, were also made as candy toys, but those three are relatively unchanged compared to the candy toy Star Saber, who, again, replaced all the clear plastics for more sturdy opaque plastics, at least for Kabaya candy toy standards. If anyone even found the candy toy Star Saber, assemble it and display it with your Cheapo Plastic Era Armada figures (like Optimus Prime and Burning Galvatron).
>>
>>11622438
Or just buy the Fanshobby Nemesis and get a trailer and a durable sword.
>>
>>11622448

Note that the candy version uses the same loose connection at the hilt. Though you can do the more stable fanmode by plugging Jetstorm's legs into Sonar's two minicon ports.

They only fixed the peg later with the Vorpal Saber version, making it longer and tighter.
>>
>>11622513
>>11622514
Hmm... Following said guidelines, adding one pla-plate on the candy toy version could help wonders, especially since it's opaque and Jetstorm doesn't self-destruct like his clear mold-shares and heaven forbid the AOTP Nemesis Prime.
