>>11626973Anthony reviewed these and didn't notice or mention the swivel at the knee in his bashing of them. Truly a fair and unbiased individual. Don't get me wrong, I agree with him that they are shit for the $30 price tag, but he is letting carelessness, and/or bias creep in to facts about the figures. That knee swivel is on the DCMV Abyss figure and it helps a lot in posing as it acts like a hidden thigh cut, which most McFarlanes besides motorcycle riders lack.

>>11627056We have to trust YouTubers since they're the ones who get the figures first and can make definitive judgement calls on whether or not certain things are bad or good prior to the rest of us getting the toy. Without reviewers a lot of people would end up with terrible figures and waste their money.
>>11627072Whatever you have to tell yourself, loser.
>>11627077How else, pray tell, is someone supposed to make an informed decision without reviews?
>>11627057sad. it'd be nice if people tested these figures to make sure they could perfectly replicate iconic poses before mass production

You'll save a lot of money on bad products.
>>11627083McFarlane Toys has no interest in making cool toys. Their focus is on making collectible versions of things you recognize and will pay premium for, knowing once you're on the hook you'll keep chasing rarer, elite, $60 editions."Fuck toys, fuck articulation, fuck aesthetics. It's the blue ninja from those video games and people will spend money on it."
>>11627086>Anyone who gets a toy early is already biased for the manufacturer and cant be trusted because they got free stuff.I mean that's not necessarily true. I once got my hands on some Earthrise Transformers before any videos of them surfaced on YouTube. Sometimes people just find things in the wild early. >Stop preordering figures and stop buying figures from companies that dont produce enough to buy figures without preordering.I buy figures based on the characters, not whether or not the toy is the greatest engineered figure ever. But then again, if I don't like a line I don't collect it, despite the actual property. Like, I don't collect Toddslop because they're objectively bad figures, even though I'd love to have a DC equivalent to Marvel Legends.
>>11626973yeah thats the onefigure looks like itd be miserable to pose
>>11627119McFarlane Toys figures are not all objectively bad. It also depends on what you value. If you heavily value articulation, many are bad or even downright awful. But if you heavily value sculpt, many are outstanding. There is no way to objectively weight these as the preference varies per person.
>>11627126Here's an issue though: most modern domestics are miserable to pose. Hasbro and McFarlane both embraced the ratchet, severely limiting positioning in poseability to specific predetermined points, rather than the way toys used to be which was a smooth friction joint that could stop anywhere along its range, that is a large portion of super hero domestics right there and even a large portion of domestics entirely. Mattel's Masterverse line keeps ratcheting to somewhat of a minimum in only key areas like the ankles from what I have tested and Origins doesn't seem to use ratcheting. But those are kind of niche lines compared to DCMV, MK, Marvel Legends, and Star Wars
>>11627136i think its funny even super powers got ratchets for no reasonnot only that but the whole knee range is 4 notches i just counted
>>11627078I dunno, but buying figures id truly like to have has worked fairly well for me so far. Never watched a review for any figure i own, if i make a bad choice then thats on me.
>>11626973Huh, youd think for figures based off of a fighting game would be better suited with more range of articulation given the iconic poses they have. Regardless its a step in the right direction for future figures.
>>11627130I wish i liked this more, but it just doesnt fit my view of swamp thing. Maybe i should re read the nu 52 stuff with animal man and swamp thing and get more familiar with this version.

Just to finally finish off the topic of my white whale, the second CE Wonder Woman just arrived. Happy that she's in good condition as well because I didn't know what to expect after the seller told me the other one was so badly damaged that they couldn't send it to me.Will unpack her by the end of the week when another batch of figures arrive along with some flight stands.Gotta say I really like how her colours pop as well. There are quite a few figures which would be perfect for metallic-looking suits, yet they didn't bother investing in better paint.
>>11627119>who gets a toy earlyNTA, but any reviewer of anything who gets a product is suspect. It's why newspapers and tv shows never allowed their film and theater critics (or even restaurant food critics) to watch/eat for free. I always laugh when you go to Best Buy or Amazon and see all those ACTUALLY NEGATIVE reviews, especially for things like the summer Spin Master Superman toys, where the parent's writing the review making comments like "my little Bobby swallowed the Krypto toy and I had to take him to the hospital" when they give it a negative review because the toy says "3 and up" and their little brainlet child was 5 and still swallowed the plastic dog. You can just imagine their next sentence would, "I really wish they hadn't made it look so delicious." >>11627072>have to trust>make definitive judgement callsYou should trust who has earned your trust, son.I do watch these, it's how I decided the SpinMaster BAF of robot #4 would actually be more accurate to paying $30 for the McFarlane "theatrical" based on visible information like the length of the cape and the design of the torso, etc. Also, that the BAF articulated and looked on screen just as, and in some cases (paint app) better. But that was a judgement I made, not one I got spoon fed, anon. If I saw a McFarlane robot for $5-10 on clearance, I'd probably pick it up as well.

Think of how many new molds could be made for figures if they didn't have this crazy idea that people want 1/10th scale vehicles.
>>116278691/12 can fit toys with bulky armor more cheaply than 1/10. There is no advantage to 1/10 scale besides potentially level of sculpted detail possible.
>>11627866He's so happy!
>>11627889Many of the batmobiles are online only or pegwarm hard, whether instore or online. The 89 batmobile was really the only wise choice as a release. The rest I still see available unless they were exclusive and heavily limited like the one that was MTS exclusive.
I was reading and remembered asking what a good idea for a megafig might be.well, how about gog? Fuck it, throw in a magog too and slip a nft in the sunuvabitch and turn that box sideways and sell it for a $100.
>>11627896I don't mention Hasbro at all. The problem is McFarlane Toys is reusing bucks like mad and wasting money making vehicles instead of using that on new figure molds.
>>11627869larger scales are only beneficial for RCs and model autism
>>11627502you're spouting bullshit at a brazilian bikini wax emporium, sonnyof course people are gonna call you out on the stupid
>>11627909Hasbro reuses molds as much as McFarlane does though. It's just less noticeable because they use overlays... which are also reused. See pic.And toylines work on budgets. Each wave has its own budget, so they don't spend over a certain amount of money and this budget is standard across the year. So one release doesn't affect the other. This means that a vehicle being made won't affect the budget from a standard wave. Inversely, this also means that the vehicle not existing wouldn't increase the amount of molds being produced for a wave.If you wanted to increase the molds being created, you'd need to increase the price. This is why the vehicles all have brand new molds, because they cost $50+. If you wanted more brand new molds for the DC figures, the figures would start costing $3-10 more. So vehicles being released is just there to make McFarlane extra money with their higher price point, which benefits fans who want that sort of thing. No one is negatively affected by them being made, aside from retailers who hold onto stock too long.
>>11627679Saw one of these at a place kinda like that pic a few months ago, was distracted by other shit i wanted though. still it was only like 10 bucks
>>11627969>Hasbro reuses molds as much as McFarlane does though. Stop comparing to Hasbro. I said literally nothing about Hasbro. Start comparing McFarlane now to McFarlane before 2023 or so.>If you wanted to increase the molds being created, you'd need to increase the price.Anon, McFarlane already raised prices multiple times this year. WHERE'S THE NEW MOLDS?
>>11627991The point of the comparison is to show what is possible for a toy company to give you for your money. If a large company like Hasbro reuses molds for $28 figures as much as McFarlane does, it points toward what they're capable of producing for their prices. Be thankful they're not Mattel, who reuses molds even worse. And prices being raised is only to keep up with inflation/tariffs/other issues like demand. Everything has raised up in price across the board over the past 5 years, from food, fuel, and all luxury products, including toys. Creating new molds would be an extra price increase, which too many people here have already said they're not willing to pay or able to afford. So which do you prefer... the current quality of product or finding two or three more molds per wave but nothing else changed for $30-35? To note that Hasbro is reaching $30 for their 1:12 lines without any improvements. And i use Hasbro as primary example, because they have relatively high standards for budget children toys and very few companies (like McFarlane) have released higher quality budget children toys than them.
>>11628000>The point of the comparison is to show what is possible for a toy company to give you for your money. >If a large company like Hasbro reuses molds for $28 figures as much as McFarlane does, it points toward what they're capable of producing for their prices.Except if we compare to McFarlane before 2023, they were shitting out new molds like it was candy with a 19.99 price point. So it was clearly possible to do so. They could've went to 24.99 to buffer for costs and continued shitting out new molds like candy. But they raised the prices but didn't give us the molds. The reality is that a goblin from Mattel got in there, took over and started doing Mattel level reuse to ruin the lines and maximize profit rather than doing what McFarlane had done before. And McFarlane doesn't have shareholders.>Everything has raised up in price across the board over the past 5 years, from food, fuel, and all luxury products, including toys. This is just THIS YEAR, not 5 years, anon. They had a price increase a year or so ago to 22.99 too, then this year they went to 24.99 and later 26.99, and that is only for basic figures, ignoring the Page Punchers and Digital figures. Ignoring that the CEs went to $35 while still reusing molds. WHERE ARE THE NEW MOLDS FOR THE MONEY, ANON? >So which do you prefer... the current quality of product or finding two or three more molds per wave but nothing else changed for $30-35?Anon, frankly I don't buy the current product because it's just endless improper reuse. I'd probably be more likely to buy a new mold every once and awhile for $30. But that isn't even the choice. Because CE and DTE McFarlanes already are $35 and they STILL reuse molds. The only entirely new molds from Batman Returns wave are Catwoman and the penguin pack (who have little if any articulation, are a prohibitive exclusive, so cannot cost as much as a new highly articulated figure). The Penguin, Batman and Max all have reuse, heavy reuse in the case of Max.
take the flea market pill
>>11628018And if you compare to Hasbro in 2008, of course there were making a shit ton of new molds for their brand new toylines. When shit is new, they HAVE to make new molds. Once they make enough molds, they can start reusing them.>This is just THIS YEARNo shit? Everything else has increased in price THIS year too. It hasn't stopped, and as i pointed out, there's preorders for HAsbro shit for $30 now AND they're not increasing the quality either. So it's not going to stop getting more expensive in the future either.Your entire problem is with the economy, not McFarlane. You just don't notice because you don't buy any other toyline, or buy your own groceries, own a car, buy clothes, eat fast food, and other shit that normal people have noticed has gone up in price because they leave their house.See pic? There's some mold reuse here, but there's way more new molding. This budget children's toy cost ~$45 one year ago. The previous image i used was released just a month ago, has way more mold reuse and it costs ~$65 RIGHT NOW in stores. The higher prices are simply because of the current state of the economy. The mold reuse is just how shit has been done for 20 years or so. You can't expect other companies who make budget children toys to act differently, because this is already a standard that's higher than 90% of childrens toy companies out there.
>>11628049get back to work you slacker
>>11628060I'm on break. We didn't get too many cars tonight so I have some free time to wonder round the store.
>>11628039>And if you compare to Hasbro in 2008, of course there were making a shit ton of new molds for their brand new toylines.>When shit is new, they HAVE to make new molds. Once they make enough molds, they can start reusing them. This isn't how McFarlane worked, and it's evident by the fact that none of the molds they made were blank bucks that could be reused for many characters. There were molds that could be reused for different versions of Batman or Superman and the like with some modification but that's it. Even the booster-beetle buck they made later in 2023 had that dumb boot sculpted in so it wouldn't work on specific characters (they reused it anyway). McFarlane had never been a "body buck" producing toy company. Until Mattel Goblin. They did reuse, but in non-obnoxious ways. Until Mattel Goblin.>Your entire problem is with the economy, not McFarlane. So I thought if they went to $30 or $35 extra for basics I could get my new molds, anon, mentioned in just your last post? No new molds now, canceled due to The Economy? >See pic? There's some mold reuse here, but there's way more new molding. This budget children's toy cost ~$45 one year ago. The previous image i used was released just a month ago, has way more mold reuse and it costs ~$65 RIGHT NOW in stores. That is essentially a 2 pack. And McFarlane's 2 packs went from $40 to $80 with mostly reuse of both figures just by throwing in a megafig instead of a 2nd regular fig. Makes 45 to 65 seem not as bad. If I had to get one I'd certainly buy that Desert Viper pack before I'd buy the Spectre vs Atom Smasher abomination pictured here. Though in reality I don't want either.

>>11629383One is blue and gray, the other two are black and gray, obviously? But you're right, I should put one of the black and grays is up for sale. Want it?Only $19.99! Cheaper than a Toddy McFarty.
>>11629263I'm gonna guess this is Anthony's ideal sculpt of super heroes.
>>11629234lol nogo fuck yourself retard
>>11629480Yeah, you really do need to cut it out. It's really cringe and no one likes it. Feel free to do it with your own poorly posed Power Girl photos, stop trying to steal other people's pictures you cretin.
>>11629486it's too late, I already stole that Batman's soulI'll keep stealing soulsnothing you can do about it
>>11629497Well at least you admit you're a fag.
>>11629480*cums on power girl 1000 more times*
C'mon Todd, one last ride
>>11629607Barreltorso Green Lantern would require a new mold. I'm not sure McFarlane will use a new mold on anything but a Scarecrow figure these days. If you looked up Batman villains they have made I get the feeling he is #2 in the number of times they have made him behind only the Joker.
if Todd loses the license without doing this, the whole thing was a failure
>>11629746it won't be done. It would require new molds.
>>11629620I think the crackerjacks at mcfarlane toys could easily pull off a Per Degaton by using Red Latern Guy Gardner. It is a strange choice but yeah, theyve done like five diffrent Scarecrows i think.
>>11629750Repaint The Questions head could get a Rorschach figure though. Pretty sure it uses the same body The Sandman did which ive read was the Heath Ledger Joker body.
>>11629751imagine if they gave him a "karate chop" hand
>>11629132Awesome
>>11629753That mold has an open jacket. Rorschach typically has a closed buttoned up jacket.
>>11629753>>11629766Here's a mold that might work for the jacket and arms for Rorschach though. I doubt the shoes match though and obviously a new head and shirt under the coat would be needed
>>11629477Been guessing wrong your entire lifewhy change now?
>>11629132Garbage. Stop ruining these threads with this crap.
>>11629751Not the vampire mouth and eyes. And better red hair. But yeah, McFarlane - who hasn't cleared a good vanilla JSA or JLA, or Legion of Doom/Secret Society - much less a basic core LOSH, should totally do a time-traveler's wave. Let get Rip, Super Nova and Michelle, the Woman of Tomorrow figure easily turns to a Goldstar, the Blue Beetle buck with cape and Mid-Nite or similar head into Gold Star, and plenty of unmasked peg warmers easily convert to Hunter.
These are still clogging shelves at GameStop and Target has brought them back, just in time for Christmas. It's still a cheap, flimsy cash-grab by Todd, but I'll take one at half off (or less) for the chair, doo dads, and the console. Saw some SpinMaster movie stuff at a Ross finally, and the Toys R' Us at Macy's has all their stuff at 50% off (not just the Superman movie but great deals in person that aren't on their site), I pretty much got all the junk I need for the nieces and nephews, including LEGO.But I suspect this won't drop down till maybe 10% or something stupid for Black Friday, like the current small discount on Amazon, or after the Holiday.
>>11630029just for the record even sp fags dont like the superman wave
>>11603542>>11603930>>11603287>Trying to find the Epic Strike Guy Gardner figureSaw this on sale at Macy's, Toy's R Us Tuesday.Only a few on the shelf but even if no store near you, family/friend must have one you can ask pick it up. Grabbed two more of the 3" 5PKs at half off to cheaply army build Ultraman and Fortress Robots.>>11630085Just for the record, don't really care.Even better if the hardcore money-wasters 'don't like' if it means heavy discounts. It's barely worth $8 for the actual plastic I want.
>>11630029Nice blog. But no one fucking cares. Are you going to tell us what you got for breakfast too?
>>11630110your just a giant baiting faggot again? cool. peace out then
>>11629063what cycle is that?
>WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT POWER GIRL OR SUPERMAN AC43579??????>AUUUUGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>ILL SHOW THEM!!! TIME TO BRING MY PHONE TO THE TOY ISLE IN WAL-MART AGAIN....AGAIN!!!!
>>11630111>>11630146
>>11630147nta but i think its the cloud one
Stop talking to yourself holy shit.
Why can't they get the new waves into stores now?
>>11629959McFarlane was never about completing teams
Meanwhile, Targets are restocking Sandman, the Superman '78 Movie from SpinMaster are also being re-stocked and the Zod carded from those can even be ordered for shipping.
>>11630110I was the anon looking for that figure. Gave up the in person search and won it on Ebay for cheap a week or so ago.
>>11630408I refuse to hunt for figures in 2025. Put it up on the website or you don't get money from me, Target.
>>11629959A good old fashioned villan would be nice, plenty of noteworthy vharacters with appealing designs to choose from too. As far as time travellers go, their is a wave rider. Im not well read on him but he was in zero hour i think. . >N0H0G
>>11630414I was looking too, got sandman online and found mister miracle. I was getting mad about going out to target so for an $13 it felt like a smart move to just buy from a reseller once prices cooled down.
>>11630414Glad to hear that. I won this for cheap on a auction a week ago, it was a white whale for me for a while. It's even tall enough that it will scale with my greasy mcfarts
I tell ya what guys...Mafex has lost the plot.
