I wish they gave the female Crimson Guard an alternate head with hair and eyes showing.
>>11634250
>>11634250I wish they had alt heads for Joes disguised as various Cobra troops, which happened a few times in the cartoon. With the female Crimson Guard, they threw away their chance to give us Lady Jaye disguised as one in the "Gods Below" episode.
>>11634250I am going to start a kikestarter to make a new show, G.I. Hoes and make an entire line of coomer toys and run hasbro into the dirt

Does hasbro ever reprint more after the first run? Like could we possible see the ghost viper show back up in stock or do they announce reprints or are they just done?

Speaking of hell.....>>Wal Mart has a bunch of CC, Stalker, Cobra Trooper retro card figures no one wants clogging shelves for nearly a year, causing countless waves to not show up since the store won't order new ones until these sell out.>>Two months ago, they vanished and we got a restock of a year old wave of Leatherneck, Zandar, and Saw Viper that sell out>>But instead of new figures, we get the fucking CC, Stalker, and Cobra Trooper figures back on the shelf as someone in the back just put them back out instead of dumping them into the clearance section
>>11634679*CC
>>11634463Yo Hoe!
>>11634681I just got the one on the far right and waiting for Pythona in the mail!!!FACT!!!
>>11634741Your local Walmart has a better selection than mine does.
>>11634672Their MO appears to be to do a low-production initial run to feel out the demand, and when/if it sells out, do a second run. In that time they usually end up over-producing to turn a successful figure into an over-produced toy that's hard to sell. And the Ghost Viper already had its second run, and maybe a third run as it's now showing up in stores that didn't initially get it two months ago. The first run completely sold out in around one day. Now it's looking like it might a clearance-sale figure in a month or two.
>>11634872I don't think they're second runs, because stores take forever to reorder anything from the manufacturer, Hasbro takes even longer to start production again, and it takes about month to ship something from ChinaWhat's likely happening is just normal restocking issues at the distrubtion level. Figuring out if they have enough to restock certain stores without taking too much from other stores that need it and then shipping things out.
>>11634872>Now it's looking like it might a clearance-sale figure in a month or two.I wouldn't complain to be honest, I just got into Joes. But I am in the 3rd world shithole called canada and I cannot find it online anywhere within canada. Local places are not an option for me unfortunately
>>11634921I'll be happy with scalpers wanting as much as $100 for it getting burned on it.
>>11634915The Ghost Viper was initially sold out, then a couple of weeks later stores got more in. Cold Slither also initially sold out only for new inventory to show up a bit later. Crystal Ball too. First it was a successful sellout, and now some stores are clearance-pricing it. That's my basis for what I posted.
>>11634834I hope snail shell apes this idea. I love the CG uniform and really want the femal CG buta sexy CG would be an instabuy.
>>11635089Not that related but how come some clearances feel random like those toys that get put on clearance the day after they're released
Not to give more fuel to the schzio but it looks like they increased the prices on these causes I decided to get another Viper and its now $16
>>11635222Actually, same anon, this was the image posted at the same time I bought those figures, so I guess the discounts stack or something and its not apparent
>>11635089Sold out doesn't mean what you think it does then, if you think Hasbro could start production on it again in less than 6 months. First, Walmart would have to reorder it, which would take a while for the bean counters to figure out what actual demand is like (SUPER FUCKING UNLIKELY even if they sold half a million units). Then Hasbro would need need to interrupt the factory's current schedule to start production on the figure (SUPER FUCKING UNLIKELY unless it was million+ units, because that's putting another toyline on hold). Production time could be anywhere from a a few weeks to months, depending on the amount order. Finally shipping takes a month to get shit from China to Walmart (walmar basically has their trucks sitting at the docks to ship things directly to their distribution warehouses), maybe longer since the Christmas rush started 3 months ago.And what do you mean by sold out? Because if it's sold out online, it just means that whatever allocation they had to their webstore is "sold out", but there's still stock in the distribution warehouses and stores. If it's sold out in stores, it might just be sold out in a specific store until it gets restock from storage in the back OR regional warehouse. And due to how distribution works, sometimes not all stores get all their stock in until a month later. Since the united states is a very large country, it can takes weeks for a shipment to get to your store, especially if a specific store doesn't have priority. So the distribution warehouses might have plenty of stock for the Ghost Viper, but who to give stock to can take a while to figure things out and since it's the holiday season now, other products might be more important to ship out with the daily/tri-weekly trucks. There's limited space on the trucks and GI Joe hasn't been popular for years now.
>>11634566Nah, Funko will buy them, combine the licenses and tech with Mondo, and then, in a few years, all of it will go under ... or not.
>>11634741>instead of dumping them into the clearance sectiondepends on how the retailer agreement works, son
>>11635329Funko is trying to survive right now that the pop vinyl speculation bubble has popped. They probably can't afford to buy their employees a hamburger for lunch.
>>11635127Snail Shell would spoil it with retarded anime faces though, defeating the point.
Got the accessories for this guy. Holy shit he's fucking great. I have been looking for a good SF solider and the Action Solider GI Joe did came close, but this takes the cake. The NODs were kind of a bitch to get on his helmet, but whatever. Same with the Peltors. Also, I got a third Peltor ear cup, it was just floating around randomly in the package. The other two were in their respective spots. Just an extra by accident?
>>11634681I wanted this as a kid... sniff... it's - it's beautiful
>>11636850Is there a trick to getting the headset on? I can't get mine to peg in.Anyone???
Were there any good black friday/cyber-monday Joe deals out there worth mentioning?
Anyone get anything good lately
>>11637631Not many. Most places just had a few figures down to like, $18 or so. Walmart had a few figures in the $10-$15 range. Probably the only interesting thing to me was that BBTS had Night Creepers down to $15.>>11637787I got a couple of the Grim Vipers. They're pretty cool. They're so bulky and look like tanks that I almost want to strap a bunch of the ammo bandoliers on them to bulk them up even more and make them look covered in bullets and shit.
>>11637787>B.A.Ts with double weapon armsI knew buying two was the right choice. That said does anyone find it weird the Retro B.A.T didn't come with a laser rifle?
>>11638295V2 bat when??
>>11638572The Retro Classified line is supposed to be based on the Sunbow animated seasons right? Probably this custom for $120 is all we'll ever get.
>>11638575>The Retro Classified line is supposed to be based on the Sunbow animated seasons right?Who kows what they'll do when they run out of source material, WON'T make "those" figures of the ladies in the Sunbow cartoons, and need something new?
The camping stuff was actually to prepare us for one of the tires on the Thunder Machine Haslab just being "Enough grape soda and doughnuts for all previously released Dreadnoks to hold"
>>11638966The camping stuff comes from the episode "haul down the Heavens" where Flint, Lady Jaye, and scientists camp out in the arctic. Baroness goes in disguise doing blackface. That whole HASLAB package is a "cartoon package."
>>11639104>That whole HASLAB package is a "cartoon package."And shows clearly in the figures.
>>11639110Please God let them do a retro card Lady Jaye in her normal outfit but with the head from this figure
>>11639282Agreed. Every version of her up until this one has been ugly as shit. The retro-card one was especially bad with the hat and wrong colors for the cartoon likeness.
so the idea is give us shitty versions, later good versions but not accurate, then combine them, selling us the same figures multiple times
>>11639523You only have to buy one of them but yeahAt this point anyone who wants a retro release but isn't waiting to buy them is just gaming themselves
>>11639575they make you wait for years in between each better mold and remake of a main character. it's a joke.
>>11639293>>11639523>>11639575>>11639729To be fair, Lady Jaye (both the regular and retro release) were pretty early in the line. There were some pretty rough faces/heads early on, and they just haven't even really done a Lady Jaye since then.
>>11639523That's probably true when considering it took five times and five years to get an attractive Baroness. At any rate they'll definitely re-use that mold due to her being the original blue Baroness underneath the flight vest. It's just a matter of when.
>>11639523yeah, you new to hasbro or something?
>>11640216They did this shit with the 25th line, and I am hating it!
>>11634179Got "Once A Man" Cobra Commander with Pythona on the way and hope they also do Nemesis Enforcer and Golobulos!!!FACT!!!
>>11634179O-Ring Chads for the 2026 era!!!
>>11640241I collected the vehicles and not the figures from that line. It was nice being able to get affordable reissues.
When I was a kid I wanted a G.I.Joe (the OG 12 inch and that Space Capsule I would have murdered for) but I had a Big Jim and a couple of Action Jackson's. (which I made my own damned spacesuit for out of fire fighting gear and a carefully cut capsule from a gum machine for a helmet. By the time the 1/18 joes came out I didn't have that much interest. Later in life my reawakened interest and in photography and my in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. got me interested in joes again. But I never collected O-ring figures and never had the nostalgia for them. I still don't and really do not get the love. Can someone sell me without using "nostalgia" as a reason to buy them.I find them okay as background figures but not center stage.
>>11641088Large quantities of both figures and vehicles. The vehicles and playsets were stuff that was just impossible to have in a larger size. Plus the cartoon was incredibly well-written for an 80s kid cartoon. It even did dark shit most cartoons of the era dared not to do, like show dead bodies.
Big Bad Workshop do what Hasbron't
>>11641127 Oh I think the cartoon was a lot of fun and I originally watched when I got home from school. - and size IS a factor. But there are more articulated better sculpted figures at that scale. - and they also fit the same vehicles.
>>11641300NOW there is. That wasn't true in the 1989s.
>>11641154And just for $20 more than a Hasbro offering, which doesn't seem that bad nowadays
>>11641318 No. But NOW everyone wants the O-ring figures and that's a lot of nostalgia sales. And might turn off new customers.
>>11641679New customer here, just bought like fucking 12 Joes. But I chose classified, I am really not sure the allure of the 3.75 figures. Why do you say everyone wants the o ring figures? In my opinion it is just sunk cost fallacy, once you picked one you stick with it?
>>11641679i don't think people actually want o-rings.Like Classified, people are only buying it because it's the ONLY option in America if you want a 1:18 scale GI Joe line. And part of the reason why o-ring engineering is popping up is because it's cheaper to produce than modern 1:18 lines.BTW, I don't care for o-ring and I've been buying GI Joes since 84.
>>11641679Maybe for you, but I'd love another round of reissue vehicles since even the 25th anniversary reissues have gotten a little bit pricey. >>11641698Speak for yourself. Like 5 POA Star Wars, a lot of people appreciate and enjoy the original format.
>>11641834>Like 5 POA Star WarsYes people enjoy goose stepping and heiling
>>11641698o-ring is based
>>11641898>poorfag coming up with a nazi excuse for why vintage is too rich for his collecting meansSomething's only new and original once. The first Darth Vader in all of its simplicity will always be worth something, while the 100th version is a waste of money no matter how well-detailed it may be.
Well the year's pretty much done with the last figure of 2025 (retro-card BAT) trickling out now. Anyone have any top-5 lists of their favorites for the year?My personal favorites:1. Rattler Baroness2. the cop3. Rattler Gunner4. Battle Armor Cobra Commander5. Crystal Ball
What is the alternative to G.I. Joe for a child who comes from an anti-military family, anti-army family, a family that hates weapons and whose parents are against guns?
>>11641975C BallHis troopsBig scorpionRattler and its figure accessories Donner party from Monster Force but if I cant pick him then Beef Range Viper
>>11641981Wrestling figures? Sci-fi and capeshit stuff? Robots? It must unbelievably suck to have liberals as parents.
>>11642002I wish Fresh Monkey Fiction or someone else would make highly-stylized pirates, samurai, and other historical types in this scale.
>>11642068>samuraiBudo too accurate?
Artic Hiss going on sale today, 30 day window. 4pm eastern. $199
>>11642098A Name only reveal of Deep Six, and a what looked like a swamp skier fin to me as a teaser.
>>11642101Oh is that what this is
I have the 12 Oz Mouse theme song stuck in my head
>>11642111We're getting Ninja Force Zartan next year, and if this comes with yet another Zartan, that'll be 6 zartans before RnR v2 (and a whole lot of v1 figures)
>>11642111Definitely looks like a rear strut and ski for the swamp skier. >>11642114Who's been demanding this one?
>>11641698That's how I feel, I've been collecting Joes since the 80s and I still have a box of original O-Ring figures buried somewhere in my closet. But I don't really care to buy them these days because modern figures are just so much better in almost every way. I get it, the nostalgia factor gives them a bit of charm, but even as a kid I wanted my toys to be the *best* toy it could be, which is the whole reason why I loved the G.I. Joe figures. Other lines had less articulation, less detail, less accessories, intrusive gimmicks, boring characters and so many other problems. But G.I. Joe in the 80s and early 90s were just awesome figures in almost every way. Once those Modern Era build figures hit, it was like being a kid again, the early ones were kinda rough but they improved by leaps and bounds and towards the end of the run each figure was a little work of art (Retaliation Wave 3 is still one of my favorite waves of the line). I view Classified in kind of the same way as the ME stuff, the first few figures were rough, and there's some low spots and nit picks, but overall it's probably the best western toyline being made and one of the best Joe lines overall. >>11641834They really need to put out a mass market HISS V, one that's not a DTC release or Con exclusive. >>11641919The first Vader isn't worth something because it's good, it's worth something because it's old. But I'll gladly take a newer, cheaper, *better* toy over an expensive old figure because the value in the figure for me isn't how much I can resell it for, the value is in how much fun I can have with it. >>11641981.....Super Heroes? I mean, there's a billion marvel figures you can get that have nothing to do with weapons, army or guns. Hell, most toylines these days have nothing to do with military stuff, you should be buying stuff based on what the kid likes, not what his family hates.
>>11642287The O-ring stuff will always have stuff over the other scales that the others just don't have. That keeps them appealing.
>>11641834>Speak for yourself.I don't think I am, since the o-ring stuff doesn't seem as popular as modern 1:18.Every attempt at o-ring is extremely niche and doesn't s eem to get as much support as any modern 1:18 line. Every modern engineered 1:18 line that got a kickstarter got way more support than an o-ring line by 2-10x.Like i said, the only reason we're even talking about o-ring right now is because it's the only thing that Hasbro allows to be released in the US for GI Joe.>>11642327Vehicles and playsets like that are just 1:18. So it's not that o-ring is appealing, it's just that it works with anything 1:18 scale.o-ring is just outdated engineering and purposely outdated sculpts.
>>11641692 There seems to be a lot of demand for them.At least in these threads. >>11641698 But WHY has HASBRO gotten stuck in this "retro" and O-ring bullshit. It may be cheaper -but it looks it. It's like those terribly articulated old Star Wars figures that were worse than joes by any yardstick.
>>11641981 Get figures from Marauders and gear them up with science shit. Adventurers use guns for protection. >>11641906 Not really an argument there.
>>11642068 I wish they would put out replacement helmets for their Space Force - especially with new figures coming out.
>>11642582 no guns
>>11642432The last O-ring attempt by Hasbro flopped because the figures were noticably lower quality while being over-priced. And the original stuff is still holding its value, which wouldn't be happening of the demand wasn't there. >o-ring is just outdated engineering and purposely outdated sculpts.Yet it still sells and the original stuff will always be worth more than what you decide is the best version. And I noticed your mental gymnastics with wanting the O-ring stuff repurposed for 1:18.>>11642578It actually doesn't look cheaper to me. That's you inserting your tainted eyes that have gotten accustomed to Classified.
>>11642432Dude. When Hasbro did the "retro" O-ring Joes, they had crappy plastic rivets, and a paint job and overall feel in the hands that made them look noticably lower-quality than the originals. And they were $20 each (in 2-packs for $40) against the $25 average price of a Classified. Then Reaction+ charges $25 for one against a $27 average price for a regular Classified. It's the economics that fuck over the O-ring line, not the demand.
>>11642825The retro figures sucked so much it was like they deliberately sabotaged the line so people wouldn't want any more from them.
I'm surprised no one is chimping over the artic hiss being 199.
>>11642838At this point I think people are getting used to bullshit prices.
>>11642844I mean it's cheaper than the haslab. I was wondering if anyone even noticed it dropped.
>>11642432>Vehicles and playsets like that are just 1:18. So it's not that o-ring is appealing, it's just that it works with anything 1:18 scale.Technically, O-ring stuff being (slightly) smaller than modern 1:18 figures means they're easier to fit into 1:18 vehicles than actual 1:18 figures; same reason why 1:12 figures fit better in 1:10 cars than 1:12 ones (unless you use smaller than average figures like Figma anime characters). It's one of those weird things with action figure design where unless the cockpit/vehicle seat is intentionally oversized and simplified it's quite hard to squeeze a same-scale figure in.
Do people care about the new Classified HISS tank?
>>11642967I did up until the $200 price. I don't like it that much to pay that. Personally I think it would have been cooler in a dark red for a Crimson HISS. But I guess that they wanted it as a counter to the Snowcat.
>>11642967Not winter themed. If it had been the blue one then great, but don't need arctic shit.
>>11642967They should have just re-released the regular one
>>11642967i like the red canopy and the snake skin tampos, and the new machine guns look way better than the original onesbut i don't like the missile rack and don't really care about winter stuff enough to dedicate this kind of space to itcan't justify dropping $200 to steal some parts off it
>>11643127It would have been cheaper if they had just remade the same thing but different color. But they had to alter and re-tool a bunch of shit, so now it's $200.
>>11641981Transformers, He-man, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Jurassic Park, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Halo, Fortnite, Gundam, Marvel, DC, Adventure sets from Chap Mei, Star Wars and stuff like that.
>>11643188There's nothing new there, though. Maybe some of the railing around the missile launcher, and the little rolled up tent or blanket or whatever that hands off the side, and I am pretty sure that comes with the SnowCat.The missile launcher was already on the Stinger, and the Joe version of the Trench Viper set with the Steel brigade guy. The figure is just a Snow Serpent with a HISS Driver head. There might be a new gun part on the turret, but that's about it.I thought it was pretty obvious it was going to be $200.
>>11634250I wish they gave her a better body, I would have bought two and did some head swaps with my spare Baroness heads.
>>11643336You might be talking to the guy who throught the Ghost Viper would be $30 because it was mostly reuse that pops up here and spams those walmart images
>>11643357Or maybe no one expected Walmart to sell one figure that's mostly recycled for more than the average price of a 2-pack.
>>11643395Now hes saying there's only one figure because he doesnt consider the dog with more articulation than a Marvel Legend a figure
>>11643400The Desert Scorpion sold at the same time was $44 and right next to it is the Ghost Viper in the same size box for $60. The Desert Scorpion is all-new. The GV is around 85% recycled kitbash. Hell even Hawk with MMS that was a whole lot more toy was like $12 more than the GV. Ghost Viper is a cool figure, but they sold it at a "doesn't make sense" price.
>>11643443Ghost V was made for Wal Marts collectors con and was budgeted like a convention exclusive D Scorpion was part of a wave and everything in a wave is budgeted together. They're objectively not comparable if you're trying to say one cost more than the other to produce.
>>11643477>part of a wave and everything in a wave is budgeted together.Oh right that's how Transformers are budgeted.
>>11642967I'm vulnerable toward getting one since I backed the snow cat. I already have the Haslab HISS but I could potentially see this thing in my vehicle fleet, if for no other reason than because I want to photograph it in the snow.I think it's a good deal overall. $200 is a fair price, it doesn't devalue the Haslab HISS since it's a variant, it gives owners of the original a reason to double dip without being a "here's a better replacement for the thing you already have," and it comes with different accessories which makes up for it coming with less.
Man, can't believe how good the upcoming Baroness is! I'm so happy they announced it, she looks amazing with a reuse of the great Rattler head and body in all black! I was worried for a minute that we were going to go another event without a Baroness reveal, that would have been really saddening, but Hasbro always come through! Thanks Hasbro, now I don't need to hang myself from the attic rafters!
