That Shulk mold was really good for the time, I was always surprised they didn't do more with those bespoke legs
>>
>>11644278
Since we are getting McFarlane's lizard redesign, how long until we his Hobgoblin or Taskmaster or Ultimatum goon or some form of Tri-Sentinel?
>>
Is that Lizard really worth $40? Or are collectors just lunatics?
>>
>>11644304
The BaF regularly sells for anywhere from $60 to $80, so yeah, it seems worth it.
>>
>>11644304
I mean, no, but nothing is worth what it costs; within that framing it's not actually horrible
>>
>>
>>11644304
What's crazy is how bad the BAF is... I'm a Lizard collector but I remember hating those legs. Like even looking at the figure photos I get frustrated with how limited they were. And that fucking tail...ugh!

I still bought two for the Lizard collection, but even then...
>>

Thanks for your pointless post.
>>
>>11644322
>figures SOOOOO bad I get frustrated just looking at it

Thanks for your pointless post.
>>
>>11644323
Yeah dumbass, I collect Lizard merch. I can have complaints about a figure and still want it for the main thing I collect.
>>
>>11644326
Nta but you bitching to ultimately admit to buying not 1 but 2 just because you must consoom is the gayest shit and makes your post pointless literally.
>>
>>11644333
No it makes you a giant faggot for trying to claim you're not him, when you very clearly are.
>inb4 badly photoshopped screen grab

Sorry I actually buy toys and can have criticisms of the different ones I do buy. Faggot.
>>
>>11644337
Ok. Take two doses of your medicine in the morning anon.
>>
>>11644315
>Product is horrible!
>I'll take TEuWWo!
I can't believe collectors are like this. If the product is bad you're not supposed to buy it. The market does not work if you buy bad product, it just leads to more bad product being made.
>>
>>11644343
Jump off a cliff already
>>
>>11644344
Just because -I- have problems with the BAF doesn't mean others do. The world does not revolve around me, I recognize that, unlike you apparently. They already put out a better figure with the retro card Lizard.
>>
>>11644308
Just because someone on ebay will pay $60-80 for it doesn't mean it's worth that.
>>
>>11644347
Anon, if you believe the figure is bad, you should buy 0. That is the only way the market functions. You are not doing your part to give proper market feedback to Hasbro. For all we know most agree the legs are bad on the figure and they still just buy it anyway because "ITS LIZARD OMG". Don't be part of the problem, resist the FOMO.
>>
>>11644349
I mean, to that person it seems to be. You seem to think that the concept of worth isn't subjective. What you may think isn't worth it, someone else will. Stop being so close minded.
>>
>>11644351
It's impossible for a buyer to judge worth, because they can't experience the product until they pay for it. So only people who own the BAF can say whether it's worth it to them.

Like this guy who is saying the legs are terrible, does he tend to topple over or are they loose or what? I can't tell because I don't have this figure, so I have no idea if its a dud and will shelf dive like crazy or if its very fun
>>
>>11644350
Bitch, you think me not buying it would've stopped Hasbro somehow? The fucking thing sold out, twice. Me buying it doesn't change anything.
>>
>>11644350
You're a retard. He can have issues with something and still want it. Why are you all such closed minded faggots?

>>11644352
It's amazing the mental hulah hoops you retards will jump through to justify whatever bullshit subjective opinion you have. You have a mental deficiency if you can't figure out that some people can like an item and still be critical of it. Consider drinking bleach.
>>
>>11644353
And you are part of the problem by buying it. As I said, for all we know most agree the legs are bad on the figure and they still just buy it anyway because "ITS LIZARD OMG".
>>
>>11644315

The Lizard legs don't look limited at all from the pics Im seeing. Whats wrong with them?
>>
>>11644358
Holy shit, why are you incapable of accepting the fact that others can be fine with something, even if it has issues they're critical of? Are you THAT fucking autistic. Holy fucking shit.
>>
>>11644358
What problem? Obviously there's demand for the figure. Again, I don't have to love it, I have issues with the engineering. But it's clearly a hit.

>>11644359
It's the knees, you can't straighten them out. On the original BAF the knees were a bit gummy and would be loose. That hunched look is really all you can do with it. Sculpt-wise it's all very good.
>>
>>11644360
If I said this about a figure:

>I remember hating those legs. Like even looking at the figure photos I get frustrated with how limited they were. And that fucking tail...ugh!

I would not be buying a re-release of it.

If I said "yeah the legs were a little tough to work around and pose with but it was a generally cool figure" then I can understand.
>>
>>11644363
Good for you. The world doesn't revolve around you. Anon said that he is a Lizard collector is able to look past the issues he has with the figure. Get the fuck over it you autismal faggot.

Goddamn, you little queens think everything revolves around you. Actual zoomer brain rot generation behavior.
>>
>>11644278
I kinda want it but then i just think i dont want it for anything more than adding a cool looking villian to my Spiderman collection. It does look pretty nice overall but when i think of times where i thought the Lizard was a bad ass and i just go blank.
>>
>>11644364
I'm closer to gen X, anon, you're multiple generations off.
>>
Don't worry, anons, we just have to imagine the Lizard figure is a McFarlane made figure, then the articulation will make sense. And hey it has a McFarlane drawn head, so that's just the warning Hasbro is sending out; "this thing is gonna have a cool sculpt but don't expect it to articulate"
>>
>>11644367
Doesn't take away from my point that you're a self centered fucking retard incapable of accepting that others have differing opinions than you. You should stop posting here until you're less autistic and retarded

>>11644412
They did two Batmans and a Superman and nothing else, as usual
>>
>>11644437
Not really accurate. Under the Future State banner, they actually did a weird lookin' Kal Supes, Jon Kent Supes, Ghost-Maker, Static Shock, a Bruce Batman, and a non-Bruce Batman. Maybe more.

>>11644433
They know pins don't matter, a re-release baf with pins (ie Lizard) just sold out in a day at $40
>>
>>11644446

No, I ordered from Amazon and its not scheduled til February. I was hoping it would get here by Christmas. Did you order it from Japan?
>that face
Something about his neutral face has been bugging me but I cant put my finger on it. I think his face is out of scale with his head.
>>
>>11644906
Amazon seems to be screwing up toy deliveries this year. Last year I ordered toys from them and they were one of the first to deliver vs EE or BBTS going in stock. This year its the opposite. For example basically everyone has gotten Catwoman from McFarlane's Rip Off Returns line. Meanwhile Amazon has it slated for late December. I'm reconsidering Amazon vs other options
>>
>>11644914
You new to importing? Ordering from domestic sites like BBTS, Amazon's US site, or Gamestop results in having to wait a month or so after Japan gets the figure. That's how it's always been. Previously, it was still cheaper to import and pay the more expensive shipping fee than buying domestically due to the Japanese exchange rate. Now though, with no de minimis, the more expensive shipping makes it about even now. Amazon won't get theirs until next month.

I have been expereince weird shipping issues this year with Amazon myself, but it's only after the item physically leaves their warehouse it gets delayed by a day. Happens to almost all my orders now, and my mom even mentioned it happening to her too, and she lives in a different city than me. Other than that I've been getting my Hasbro product from Amazon weeks before places like BBTS get it in. At least this past year or so. I don't collect McFarts so I can't speak to their availability.
>>
>>11644315
>I HATE IT!
>I bought two.
You belong in the mines
>>
>>11644822
They’re all poor anon
>>
>>11644921
I was not comparing importing toys directly to BBTS, Amazon or Gamestop. I don't know why you think I was. As can be seen in the post itself, I was comparing Amazon to BBTS and EE. Everything I have ordered from Amazon since the middle of the year has been in stock at BBTS and EE quite awhile before Amazon sends it.
>>
>>11644914
Amazon and Gamestop have been good to me lately, how fucked up is that?
>>
How can you tell which ML figures you can play sale chicken online on and which you cant?
>>
>>11645000
The general popularity of the character and version. For instance ultimate iron man is one of my favorite designs but I knew most people don’t like it. I just got him for $15 off of amazon.
Another example are the gamerverse 2 packs. Those will go down because they aren’t most people’s preferred versions even tho they are all popular characters. The exception being psy and thanos

Here's some toys, pardon the boring poses, they're just hanging out on a shelf right now.

Saw Al Apac/Dark Avengers Spider-Man at GameStop today while out Christmas shopping. They're charging $30 for MLs now, it's outrageous. Anyway, wasn't a big fan of that particular iteration of the Dark Avengers, so he was an easy skip, especially at that price.
>>
>>11645005
This works for comics many times but is harder to tell for other media.

Like the Marvel Rivals figures that will be coming out, I assume they'll probably sell like gangbusters just because it's Marvel Rivals but... I don't know. Maybe that craze is over. So it's hard to say definitively. Plus the looks are all not classic so they could pegwarm. Really depends on if Rival players like figures.

Movie figures are a rough gauge as well more recently. Lots of pegwarming, but not as many sales online vs in person. The movie reception doesn't fully help either. I've had movie figures like Ravager Thor who I thought would hit like 12 bucks online--the movie was mostly received negatively by the fandom and it was far from a normal look--but he never did.

And even comics can surprise you. For example the Lilandra 2 pack is going on somewhat deep sales now despite the fact that Lilandra is a relatively important secondary character in X-Men and this is the best version of her. So it's surprising. I imagine they made too many of the 2 packs and the fact its a 2 pack turned people off. But I don't know whether that will still be true now with the tariffs. Yet Deathbird's 2 pack, who has not had a Hasbro ML figure, still is available and may end up dropping in price as well. So comics are not always easy to predict either in some cases. Maybe my impression of Liliandra and Deathbird and Gladiator's importance is skewed though, even despite no Deathbird figure existing until now.
>>
>>11645032
>Maybe that craze is over
I don't see it discussed nearly as heavily as it used to so I have to assume they missed the boat on that. I for one wouldn't get any of them, the designs are terrible.

It hasn't been good since issue 100 so you're not missing much. But there are a lot of good designs so I guess it makes sense why you'd buy toys of it. Like Plague is a pretty fun design from the modern era and works well as a figure

Even when I go out to stores or talk to other people online, even weebs, everyone knows the correct terms. It's just on here that people aren't knowledgeable enough. I mean even statuettes would be fine but statues are factually wrong

>>11645421

That's a bit more complicated since anything designed for play can be considered a toy. Army men and those shitty little Scheich figures are also figurines but they're still toys if kids play with them

I saw these in october and didn't get them right away. Went back the next week and they were all gone. They haven't restocked since. Still kicking myself over it.

Which figure do you prefer: DinoLizard, RetroLizard or McFarlaneLizard?
>>
>>11645647
For me it's will always be this retro.

Honestly none. I wanted Retro Lizard to be as beefy as thr BAF one. Pinless and bendy tail with a TAS head.

Retro Lizard is the better figure. Though as >>11645655 said I wouldn't say no to a bigger, beefier Lizard. If I could get a figure based on this cover I'd be over the moon.

>>11645670
You're a very boring Carnage collector then. I have pogs, cake toppers rings, grow-in-water toys, game pieces, posters, shirts, jammies, promo art, sketch cards, comics, etc.

Retro because its body is actually functional and both headsculpts work well for his classic and modern appearance. Still excited for new Lizard mainly for the McFarlane head and I always loved those old Toybiz Lizard figures that were based on his art. I don't hate DinoLizard though, since it reminds me of old paintings like pic-rel.
>>
So it's settled then, Retro seems to be the figure people prefer most. Why are we making a big deal about OP then? Anyone who wanted a Lizard should have already gotten the Retro one. Didn't it even get reissued?

I'm just buying a version that works for me and keeping that version, but the fact that they so incrementally update the figures rather than making figures quality at the time and maybe in like 10 years make a new one
>>
>>11645984
Yeah, but when they go a long time between refreshing a character people complain. Look at Psylocke. People have been clamoring for a new fig of her to the point her two pack sold out instantly. Of course popular characters like Wolverine or Spiderman get numerous releases with small incremental updates. It's one way to hook in new collectors.
>>
>>11646002
Popular characters pay for the obscure ones. Nobody's gonna make a fucking Stingray if there's not 4 other Iron Mans to eat the cost. Also please make Stingray

If the attitude is, let people spend money on whatever the want, let them live their life, apply that to comments. Let people argue about whatever they want. What someone buys doesn't affect you, what conversations people have in marvel general shouldn't either.

I think the strain of collecting figures as well as the constant price increases in recent years has taken its toll on a lot of people in the hobby. It's stressed people out a lot more than it used to. People are venting.

Not to mention a string of disappointments with hard to get exclusives a lot of people missed. The most recent being the Savage Land pack and Psylocke for example

What is the chance of Jim Lee Colossus seeing a single release? Sold my Warlock Wave Colossus a few weeks ago for 60 bucks after holding onto him ever since they started releasing classic versions of most X-Men characters. >>
>>11646526
You all laugh at this. But this is what "toys" will be like for kids in the vast majority of the US in another 10 years or so. They won't even be made of carved wood. People will make pieces of paper that they cut out and color in to look like a super hero and pretend it is what their forebearers had, because the generations before had to ruin their lives preemptively.
>>
>>11646611
Toys are an escape and some people get really caught up in that escape. It becomes a big deal for them and they become perfectionists as well as addicted.

Oversizing is a big issue with even lines that are 12+ like DC Multiverse. I don't get it. Is it really the safety standards that force it? The thing is, there are some Black Series figures with absolutely tiny guns that I would think would be a lot easier for someone to swallow than that thing. It just seems like an illogical thing manufacturers are doing across many lines.

Usually only imports wont do it, although I'm sure someone could post an oversized accessory for an import and prove me wrong in some cases.

>>11646578
Looks like Emo Wolverine with that hair

>>11646579
I agree with people who say the toybiz Werewolf by Night was better. The mobile grasping hand articulation and even toe articulation really help with a werewolf. This could've been a trial run for Hasbro to try to get back into hand articulation with him in a case where it really matters for grabbing/swiping attacks. But sadly no.
>>
>>11646713
>Looks like Emo Wolverine with that hair
Re,inds me of how Hugh had his hair styled for Wolverine Origins. I don't care how absolutely terrible that movie is, it's super nostalgic for me. Reminds me of my first year at college, I was just getting into actually reading monthly comics around that time, I have fond memories of pirating the incomplete version that leaked early (still have it saved on a HDD lol), playing the game (which was fucking kino), getting the Berserker Burger at Red Robin, and checking out the world premier, which was at a movie theater within walking distance from my buddy's apartment at the time. The cast was there, and we caught a glimpse of them, so that was cool. Too bad the movie was fucking ass.

As someone who watched Spider-Man TAS and never read a single comic story with Mysterio in it (Don't really care for Spider-Man comics, too street level), I go with the comic look. Far more detail. The TAS look just looks way too much like a happy meal toy. Unfortunately the comic look is no longer available at any reasonable price.
>>
>>11646702
The Lizard BaF one ranges for $35-$40. It's not that bad. I'd still get the TAS version since it's cheaper, but the comic version isn't in unobtanium status like some figures.

>I don't get this. If I miss something I miss it. Big deal, it's not like they're never going to do that character again.

Anon, some figures are basically one and done. It isn't as crazy as you'd think. Do you think there will ever be another The Orb or D'Spayre in ML? I don't. Now sure those examples aren't hitting huge ebay prices so for now people could just go back and get them, but what about Savage Land Rogue? When will they come back to that look? Will Sauron get another reissue?

Even if it's a character they repeat again, it may not be the look of that character someone wants, especially for B or C list characters. Take even Hasbro's releases of Lizard, who is not a niche character by any means. The only one I would want is the dinosaur lizard look. The retro carded one looks wimpy. The new one looks too bright and colorful rather than darker/grittier.

So really, Hasbro has only ever released 1 Lizard I would buy. And it was a BAF--which therefore I wouldn't buy in that form, because even at the time it would cost like a hundred bucks and be a bunch of trouble trying to sell many of the pack in figures on ebay, or it'd cost a bunch just getting it complete on ebay. So there is certainly a possibility to either purposely or accidentally miss out on a figure and never be able to get that figure again for any price you would accept.

Not even that anon, just know you need to go.
>>
>>11646762
Ok if seething about my presence helps you sleep at night.
>>
>>11646759
Anon, shut the fuck up. No one cares what you would or wouldn't buy in what form. Sorry that this megacorp isn't bending over backwards to cater to some hyper autismo from 4chan. I said it earlier, I have bigger problems than worrying about if a toy I want is easy enough to get.
>>
this thread is filled with the most low tier rage baiters to the point they must be bots.
>>
>>11646801
You're trying too hard anon.
>>
>>11646803
Let people bitch and moan about toys on /toy/ though I guess? I think people are being nitpicky and obsessive, but that's /toy/ dude. I get what I think looks cool. I like the green and purple on this new lizard, but I have the old BAF too, so idk, I might get it. People wanna over analyze, well shit, thats why theyre here.
>>
>>11646803
That's just the thing though. It isn't me. I'm just using Lizard as an example of how rare it is to get a character release that is tailored towards you in a period of over a decade in ML (as its recent and came to mind). But its not a big deal to me because I'm not some huge Lizard Stan.

Some people who missed things though--it's a big deal for them. There were many people angry about the Savage Land pack. Many people angry about Psylocke. Many collectors needed that Shanna or that Psylocke or that Savage Land Rogue.

And Hasbro did not cater to them or make them very happy. So what happens? They let it out on everyone else in the community. That is the point, people have had it hard over these past few years in more ways than just not getting some figures and that explains what we are seeing.
>>
>>11646816
Bruh, everyone is sick and tired of listening to the same old thing over and over about how some anon won't get X figure for Y price or as a multipack/exclusive/online purchase/what the fuck ever. I'm not asking people to actually like any of that or do something they don't want, but endlessly bitching here to a bunch of strangers that can't do fuck all to help the situation just makes this place fucking miserable. Look earlier when anon dumped his toys how the thread was actually getting along and actually discussing Marvel toys beyond bitching they're too expensive or not good enough or too hard to get. There's zero benefit to whining, over analyzing and being annoying here, it just pisses everyone else off.
>>
>>11646819
>They let it out on everyone else in the community. That is the point, people have had it hard over these past few years in more ways than just not getting some figures and that explains what we are seeing.
Sorry but that's not mine or anyone else in this thread's problem. I'm sorry that it's tough for some of you and that you have to make concessions on things. I certainly have, but you don't see me throwing a fucking shit fit like I'm a literal child who can't get the toy he wants. Sorry that I and others dislike the overly negative nancies that bring the whole rest of this place down. Just get what you can get/afford, and enjoy that. Stop trying to bring everyone else down just because you're miserable.
>>
>>11646820

It doesn't piss me off, I can ignore peoples bullshit pretty easily and reply to the convos I wanna participate in. Sorry you're so affected by this.

>>
>>11646838
I mean good for you, but it's pretty apparent that the rest of us have a problem with it. You declaring it doesn't bother you contributes nothing, and in fact is somewhat antithetical to the point you're trying to make since you cared enough to reply at all. So, piss off I guess?

Im sure, but I also dont see it as one.

We are more likely to get a shirtless Outback era Colossus given that we just got Storm in her outback costume plus you could toss in a civilian Maddie Pryor with Colossus to kill two birds with one stone to get us ever so closer to getting the Outback roster complete

He's referring to the Chinese bootleg company CT Toys. They knock off figures like Mafex, Revoltech, and SHF. They're better than most bootlegs but are still only ok at best. I don't recommend them tbqh as the quality varies greatly from figure to figure. Also, Gambit's coat looks pretty bad, they didn't do a good job bootlegging the Mafex coat.

So does Mafex kek.

They really should just follow that model for all 'iconic' sexy females and make as many of them as they made of her. They have to know the demand will be huge.

This is the only version of Spider-Man that ever looked comic accurate to me. I'd go as far as to say most comic figures should be done in this style barring the artist they are mimicking with the figure having an unusual style.

Yeah, I guess. I know when I was a kid in the mid-to-late 2000s, I was making almost all my toys with bendy wire from the supermarket, masking tape, and Bendaroos. Economic downturns are a bitch. even remember salvaging cardboard boxes to fashion fake packages for some of them. So I get this level of autism, just not the satisfaction with making paper cutouts of real, extant toys and finding satisfaction in that.

Oh, it's this guy again. Stop bitching just because one figure burned you and a Spider-Man at that. CT Gambit is fine 95% of the time and isn't comparable to the Spider-Man figures, get over it

>>11646927
>>11646893
If you feel like getting any newer Gambit figure, CT is the way to go. In case the doomposting anon is correct, just send it back and get a new one. It really isn't that difficult
>>
>>11647911
Just going off my experience. I've seen others with figures that were just as bad. Not worth the risk imo.
>>
>>11647911
>If you feel like getting any newer Gambit figure, CT is the way to go
Actually Mafex is reissuing him in more comic accurate colors. Imo, that one looks to be the best one you can get. Sure, it's more pricey than a bootleg, but it'll be better quality.

If the government banned multipack action figures and every figure had to be sold individually or not at all, would you be happy with this decision?

I would.
>>
>>11648072
I don't care because I'm not broke and autistic. So tired of you whiners whining about multipacks.
>>
>>11648079
People who don't want to overpay just to have more junk toys they didn't want lying around their house or have to take the effort to sell it on ebay are not broke, anon.

>>
>>11647932
>not worth the risk
Ffs, it's less than 25 dollars and you can literally return the figure if it doesn't meet your standards

>>11648034
I saw that one and surprisingly enough, I prefer the first version. Huge fan of TAS X-Men but I still think the shiny pink pops a lot more. But I would understand if that change made people prefer the new Mafex one

>>11648072
I would because I am waiting for a single pack Colossus

>>11648079
>>11648100
What does being broke have to do with it? I have plenty of money on my hobby account and I don't want to waste money on a figure I don't want to own or even worse, spend time reselling it because it's a waste of space. Logical thinking doesn't seem to be your thing
>>
>>11648109

Just sayin, you guys make too big of a deal out of it. Any figure I don't want I offload at one of my local shops. Do I always get what it's fully worth? No. But we're talking only a couple of bucks and I can't be assed to care about that.
>>
>>11648112
If you're so wealthy why not just throw the figure you don't want in the trash can instead of selling it to a local shop? Did you just admit something to us, anon?
>>
>>11648137
I'm just trying to highlight that if money was such a big deal it's not hard to offload stuff for at least some of it's worth. I actually rarely do that, I actually have a few unopened figs that I've been meaning to offload, but just have been too lazy to bother. For the stuff that isn't worth unloading I just give away to friends with kids.

But at the same time, I don't really get rid of too many figures either. Most of the time, if a figure is in a multipack, I want the whole pack. The Cabal set was a great example of people only wanting that updated Doom, meanwhile I wanted the whole set for Iron Patriot and Taskmaster. The recent Iron Man, Mandarin set is another example. I wanted Mandarin, even if it isn't his usual look, and the Extremis suit is my favorite IM armor so I wanted the update. Sorry that you're more picky in which figures you want I guess? I for one am really anticipating the Kitty/Colossus set that's supposed to be coming out next year. It'll almost certainly be their Astonishing looks to round off that team.
>>
>>11648112
>you guys make too big of a deal out of it
Sometimes, I feel like people really don't understand what a message board actually is. People sometimes merely ask just for the sake of discussion. Maybe you're the one interpreting too much into the questions and statements

>and I can't be assed to care about that
Yet you have so much time on your hands that you would waste it by selling it at a local shop. I for one have too many other hobbies to want to waste my valuable time taking pictures and waiting for someone to buy my figure, then pack it up and send it to that person

You can always cancel a pre-order before it ships if you change your mind. Reviews for these figs comes weeks, sometimes a month before they ship. I pre-order anything I'm interested in and just cancel if I don't care for the finished product. Not sure why that's such a big deal.
