Reposting my rant.

This confirms what I noticed, Rook's head mode looks like utter shit now because it transforms differently, now Rook's arms are the same as Mirror's, meaning the horns are too low in head mode.
They always need to fucking reinvent the wheel and fuck up something. Is it really that difficult to look at an old design and understand why it was made in a certain way in the first place?

The head modes are the most important part of these minicons, for fucks sake. But it goes beyond that, the individual modes have less articulation than the originals (the removable Rook's legs and Crosswise's arms are solid pieces).

It's baffling to me that the old toy looks better and better when I compare it to this, and that thing can barely pose. This was supposed to be the Sideways I always wanted back then, but it really isn't.
>>
>>11646445
between this, Swindle, and the TFOne Alpha Trion the 2026 voyagers are a fucking joke so far. It's like all the budget went into the 86 seeker mold.
>>
>>11646447
I think the new minicons are smaller so the head modes are on par with titan master heads.
The changes and solid limbs were probably made due to concerns over fragility or child safety.

i dont care how much it costs-it's just lame and boring looking. I don't get the "hype" (i see people keep talking about this figure here and outside of 4chan). It's not a big deal. The old toy was kind of "meh" as well.
What gives?

Any Titans Return-level design is better than that (even Skullcruncher). I don't get the hype

come on, morons at hasbro. greenlight ONE more Beast Wars thing. One that... eh.. broadstrokes away Beast Machines without killing Primal off (or has him return as some kind of matrix oracle guy with a cool new altmode), brings back the old writers and characterization, uhh gives the actors of dead characters new characters to voice since they're dead.. and gives us some closure to the best part of the entire franchise. then? fuckin.. do transtech or whatever.
>>
>>11646447
It is a shame, but I'm sure DNA will come out with a set. Sideways himself at least looks decent, but it is absolutely insane they were not able to at least match the quality of engineering for the minicons of the original, especially at the price they're charging.

No, a lot of Fun Pub's stories (especially Beast Wars Uprising) liked to repurpose toy molds as characters that didn’t have new toys at the time (usually to convince HasTak to let them use the newer mold to make a convention toy). Jetstorm and Thrust are also repurposed molds, Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream and Combiner Wars Deluxe Groove, respectively

New Rook doesn't turn upside down when combining with Crosswise into Mirror, his legs are not Mirror's arms anymore, they just share arms. That's why in head mode they're in the wrong position and it looks terrible.

Not only that but now Mirror's head isn't even stored inside Rook's body, it's just on his back. And Rook's head ends up on Mirror's chest. And they couldn't even be bothered to have sliding panels like the originals to hide the head mode eyes.
>>

>The body is ok
The feet look really bad and the bike mode has egregious hinges that were perfectly hidden in the original, but it's decent enough. The problem is that the head is one of the most important things in a design, our eyes are usually drawn to that point, and if they ruin that they ruin everything.

Something I always wished the original toy had was heads more accurate to the anime, because they looked really cool there, and this new one managed to make them look worse than the old toy. Misplaced horns on Rook and an obvious hinge on Crosswise's faceplate.
>>
>>11646635
The difference is Armada (well, Micron Legend) is actually good.
>>
>>11646696
G1 is extremely dumb but really fun with the correct mindset. Micron Legend has good ideas but executes them poorly and meanders way too much. Even the second part of the show isn't as good as people thinks.

All in all, both are bad for different reasons, like most Transformers media.

I assume there’s some art out there, but the only thing public is the Fox Kids blurb about the series
“BEAST HUNTERS, the next evolution of the popular Beast Wars franchise, continue their fight against the evil dragon Megatron and his hordes of Predacons in 13 all-new episodes with cutting edge computer animation, action, adventure and humor, produced by Mainframe Entertainment.”
I just like the idea of flipping the premise of what led to the Beast Wars “Maximal dominate society with a Predacon underbelly” on its head more than “Megatron enslaved everyone and turned them into unfeeling drones”
>>
>>11646765
>13 episodes
jesus, in the 90s that was like "we'll give you a pilot, then you're on your own"
>flipping the premise on its head
do you mean by having the preds kinda rise up and largely overthrow, gaining back more than half of what they lost? so now the maximals are on the defensive again? because I feel like this setting sorta went startrek-y for a reason.. gigantic wars can only go on so long, and now that time travel has been invented and is as easy as just stealing a ship, outright warfare is suuuper dangerous to *everybody*
>>
>>11646769
>jesus, in the 90s that was like "we'll give you a pilot, then you're on your own"
I’m pretty sure that’s also what Beast Wars also got initially
>do you mean by having the preds kinda rise up and largely overthrow, gaining back more than half of what they lost?
Yeah, although I realize that premise also just matches what the situation between the Autobots and Decepticons was. I just think it’s too bleak to basically kill off everyone on Cybertron (including several main characters of the previous show) just so Megatron can have a drone army that follows his every command
>and now that time travel has been invented and is as easy as just stealing a ship, outright warfare is suuuper dangerous to *everybody*
I guess, though I’m not sure it’s ever explained why the Maximals or Vehicons can’t do that in Beast Machines either
>>
>>11646508
I always felt like Peter Cullen and Frank Welker should do one last Transformers thing as the voices of Primus and Unicron. It could be the ultimate good guy opposite the ultimate bad guy, as corny as it sounds. That said, Cullen's last role is probably going to be Optimus in one of the new live action movies, and Welker's will be in some random Scooby-Doo movie.
>>
>>11646787
I'm fuzzy, but from what I remember, the cast (outside of Megatron and possibly Dinobot and/or Tatantulas) didn't know they could time travel. In terms of ships, I assume most have that capability blocked by default and the only reason the cast end up enabling it, is because the ship Megatron took was modded, and the Maximals piggybacked off the Predacon ship (or where unblocked by Maximal High command in the event he was trying to time travel).
>>
>>11646791
Frank's last role being him reprising Fred would be fitting though given it was one of his first voice roles

The body is very modern hasbro. Sideways, and a lot of other characters at the time had very sleek organic shapes baked into their designs. Sideways and Big Convoy are excellent excellent examples of how the squat square proportions of modern transformers destroy the looks of thwse newer figures.

Sideways should be tall and slender with more mass focused across the top. That they crunched his hips up next to his windscreen again and bulked his legs up more, alongside completely fucking up the foot orientation ruins his lean, sleek silhouette.
>>
>>11646787
was it implied most everyone on cybertron was killed? I thought megatron paralyzed them all with his virus, essentially doing to them what the ark and nemesis crews did for a few million years.
>why they can't
Maximals can, the question is how Megatron didn't get ahold of transwarp tech.. but the answer is A) he doesn't need it now, he rules Cybertron (and it was risky enough the last time, best not fuck with what's working), and B) the new writers did not watch the old show
>>
>>11646791
everything you've said here is true and I would love that casting. though I'm imagining Welker doing his Soundwave/Dr.Claw voice for Unicron.
>>11646793
Maximals control the transwarp tech, Megatron STOLE a ship, I believe one that was captured because it was still a Pred ship. It's like how the romulans cucked the federation into not doing any cloaking research, and anytime someone thought that was bullshit and tried to sneak around, they were portrayed as villains.
I'm pretty sure Rattrap's Axalon was always transwarp-capable. Maximals are literally programmed for good, they can be trusted.
>>
>>11646597
>please buy our shitty $45 toy, yes it's inferior to the 20 year old version, but look, "modern articutation"!

This shit kills the fuck out of me so bad. People accepting inferior products because le "its better than the original because this one has knees!" Is so beyond ignorant. If the gimmicks and style of the original toys were preserved there would be no issue. Hasbro CAN do an upgrade of original toys, they proved that for the most part with Magmatron and to an extent Override (if her gun was better). Some of the modern figures are damn good, they are just massively overpriced for what similar offerings can do and the remakes always have some weird jank shit going on that stands out as a massive eyesore.

Why the hell does the titan class sparkdrinker NOT OPEN INTO AXE MODE

>>
>>11646812
>That they crunched his hips up next to his windscreen again
You said it: again. That's what makes it even worse. That was one of the most obvious proportions issues that had to be fixed from the original toy and they managed to completely fail to notice.

And they also bulked up the forearm purple panels. They truly are unable to do the more curved and lean designs justice nowadays.

He paralyzed them, then sent his drones to rip their Sparks out. Said Sparks were then stuffed in a massive jar that we see a bunch of times, and the bodies of the now-lifeless Cybertronians were then collected and recycled into more drones.
>>
>>11646898
that would not work for shit for a bunch of reasons, but I do wish we got a more creative transformation than 'literally the transforming lion mech I made up when I was 15' and I also wish they did a better job on zoid mode's legs, they look weirdly empty in back.. it might end up being something you can fanmode or articulate into looking better, Iunno. I also wish the head was bigger, but that's most zoid releases since like 2008.

>>11646899
oh right right RIGHT, the spark jar. Okay so they're not dead, but they're in serious trouble. Presumably the great reformatting rebuilt their bodies and they quickly flew back into them, though realistically at least a tenth of them would just die because sparks need to be inside bodies.

Had Galvatron not suicided against Optimus he would have succeeded, even if he himself was already dead.

His nature as a living being is also super interesting, is he the bike? Is he Rook and Crosswise? Is he Mirror? Is he Unicron himself? Is he posessed by Unicron? If the bike is alive, but not Sideways, are the heads controlling the bike? If he is the bike why, when he gets absolutely fucking annihilated by the Requiem Blaster does Mirror start gloating with Sideways's voice?

He really should be Unicrons hand among the cast in more media, the idea that there is a character playing both sides in service to the greater threat of Unicron is fantastic. The concept of a hybrid of the armada and G1 situation where he manipulates Megatron into being forced into Unicrons services as his herald all the while continuing to infiltrate the Autobots is too good. Especially so if he IS actually Unicron in the body of a cybertronian.

Also the abandoned unicron cell version really should be used as a true form of him once the schrade doesn't need to be maintained anymore.

I already fucked up my $20 Tigerhawk by pushing his right foot all the way in even though there wasn't enough clearance. Normally I don't do dumb shit like that but the last Optimus Prime figure I bought required extra force and I thought it would be like that.

That sucks ass, man. I love TF, obviously, but the thing I really hate about this particular subset of collecting is how inconsistent the durability of some of these parts feel. Sometimes it feels like trying to make two pieces of glass fit together and others you might as well need to take a hammer to them to get them to come together properly.

Honestly his design and gimmick are the LEAST interesting part of him because he has all that potential going for him instead.
But instead what we got is a fandom who likes the part of the fiction where the Autobots and Decepticons get duped by the obvious same guy.
>Prime, how can you not tell that's the agent of Unicron itself, Sideways!?

All of this is true, but I feel like it's also an issue with Transformers in general. Like, Autobot or Decepticon, who the fuck would ever trust a bot named Doubledealer?

>>
>>11647087
i think Armada's take on Unicron is genuinely brilliant, the whole idea of creating the minicons from his own cells as a means to perpetuate war and conflict from the Transformers and feed off of that to satiate his hunger, its some really out there heavy dark stuff. its great. I feel like Unicron as a character peaked her cause its never felt like since then they've really known what do with him.

Energon - it's Energon, kinda contradicts that final shot of Armada implying Unicron isn't truly defeatable, oh now he's just a giant head like in Season 3 of G1 and Megatron/Galvatron wants to revive him cause reasons and....i just feel like they didn't know where to take him beyond his destruction creates the black hole in Cybertron/Galaxy Force which ok fair enough is a good threat.

Prime and Bayverse - Earth is Unicron which on paper at first sounds great but then you realize its insanely limiting and you can't really do much with it because the Earth would be destroyed if Unicron awakened properly

IDW - absolute slog to read through his arc, he's just some alien pissed about the Transformers so he just decides to genocide them all and Optimus hugs him and it kills them both.

ROTB - its basically just G1 again. they blew their load too quickly. Made what should've been the endgame finale a footnote, kinda like how the Fox X-Men films did Apocalypse.

I'm kinda not surprised they don't tackle him much cause i think his scale and importance is maybe too great right now without a new interesting approach.
>>
>>11646809

This isn't really TF related, but going through Welker's 10 mile long filmography turned up what is maybe the the funniest credit I've ever seen for anything.
>>
>>11647122
You don't have to trust him. He's a mercenary. You hire him to do jobs wouldn't send your own men to do and don't care if he gets killed or not.
>>
>>11647172

You're right, but I don't think most mercenaries lie about being soldiers of fortune to their potential employers. Doubledealer's MO basically seems to be

>Show up at Autobot/Decepticon base
>Pretend to be loyal member of whichever army
>???
>Profit!
>>
>>11647115
In a way yeah it's disappointing that Sideways double face gimmick isn't utilized to it's full extent as a way to infiltrate both Autobots and Decepticons at roughly the same times. But on the other hand Armada's cast is small scaled compared to G1, it's basically a single company on both sides that have scouted themselves on Earth and fight each other for the Mini-Cons. Sideways can't really get away with being a shadowy figure and infiltrate both sides like a spy when all he has to differentiate himself is only his head and he's expected to fight alongside the team. I think what Armada/Micron Densetsu did with Sideways was ultimately still good, he was introduced helping the Autobots then probably realized that the Decepticons had most of the Mini-Cons so he betrayed Hot Shot and switched sides, helping the Decepticons collect the rest of the Mini-Cons which I assume is part of his plan to help stoke the fires of war and make Unicron stronger.

>>11647160
The best twist they ever did with Unicron and ties with the themes of the existence of War itself and whether Transformers have the capacity to do more than just fighting. Not to mention it plays with Unicron's imagery as Satan with those skeleton like wings of his and the Mini-Cons basically being steroid boosters spawned from the Dark Lord and sent out to the Transformers so that they receive a power boost and make the war even more fatal and chaotic and thus fueling Unicron in turn, just what any demon would do. And it makes Sideways look like the devil, two-faced with antlers on his head and serves as Unicron's loyal lieutenant who was sent in to ensure the fires of war are stoked.
>>
>>11647200
Did he? I never read anything he was actually in.
That seems to over complicate his story.
It should be the Autobots or Decepticons got a mission that looks like a total loss. They hire this guy and pay his price because he's the best and its too risky or difficult for the normal troops.
>>
>>11647224

>The best twist they ever did with Unicron and ties with the themes of the existence of War itself and whether Transformers have the capacity to do more than just fighting

And provides a great and interesting reason for Megatron to have a believable change of heart. I'm not the biggest Armada fan, but I always loved seeing the most power hungry tyrant Cybertron has ever produced come to the realization that the price to be paid supreme power is, ultimately, too high even for him. Choosing to end his own existence for the future his people and the maybe even the universe is also extremely poetic. He's basically a nuke that chose to detonate itself so that future generations would be spared the horrors of nuclear war.

You have the IDW backstory all wrong.

Shockwave, who in IDW hated Cybertron for stealing his face, hands, and lobotomizing him of all emotions save murderous rage after he outed mass corruption in the Senate, ended up stranded in the past where he took over Cybertron society and nearly genocided an entire planet. The few remaining survivors then decided to go "fuck it" and using tech purposely left behind by Shockwave, to turn their planet into Unicorn so Unicorn would do Shockwave's bidding and genocide all Cybertronian life in existence
>>
>>11647390
Yeah, that. When you close the legs the toes/fingers touch tips. A hand like that I alwasy pictured closing more like a hair clip
>>
>>11647417
I always took Doubledealer as a Decepticon spy who's vulture mode was his real baseline mode als Skylynx and his humanoid form is his Autobot infiltration form and he takes great care to make sure no Autobot knows about his vulture mode
>>
>>11646586
Its way to expensive for the size.
>>
>>11647424
Well, you're right about the humanoid form being the Autobot infiltration form, since he uses Knok to assume it. He needs Skar for the vulture, though, so that means his actual baseline form is his ICBM carrier mode - it's the only form he can assume without needing a Powermaster linked to him.

on the other hand, their faces were not something I had a problem with. I mean maybe make Ramhorn's face more like his art than how his original toy interpreted it, but don't touch the others.. the CG faces were improvised quickly, and while not bad for a shadowy council, are not right here.
Considering all the continuity nudges lately, we could always make the council separate guys from Tripredacus. Which then raises the question: altmodes? should they all three still be red even though that was a poorly-implemented attempt at dramatic lighting?

Just got the AotP 4pack Horribull, he's honestly pretty solid despite the back of his legs being hollow (and the nub marks, eh).
I have the Cancer figure and he's neat, but a bit loose, which I'd assumed was due to the mold's age. Horribull's just fine though, love this guy. Now to just wait for Fangry next year.

Man this's put me in the mood for more Titans Return figures. Any you guys recommend? I already own Chromedome, Brainstorm, and Hardhead.

It's funny, I didn't really ever have THAT big of an attachment to any of the Headmaster characters besides those three and the HMjr's, but they are just remarkably fun toys. >This is so good, if only the Maximals had thought to channel his murderous impulses into grilling.
It should have been obvious - the dude's got a Texan drawl. Give him a grill, a lawn to mow, a six-pack of cheap beer, and three other guys to stand in an alley with all day and he'd have been as docile as a kitten.

>His nature as a living being is also super interesting, is he the bike? Is he Rook and Crosswise? Is he Mirror? Is he Unicron himself? Is he posessed by Unicron? If the bike is alive, but not Sideways, are the heads controlling the bike?
tl;dr, the toy was designed with a really specific character concept (he's the bike, hence the extra head, but the extra minicon heads brainwash him into the factions) which the anime staff weren't interested in pursuing.

the current design team had been made aware that people would've just accepted Slipstream as a simple retool of the regular seeker design and now with this little cameo here, they've basically been given a canonical greenlit to do one out of the new SS86 seeker mold, they could do it for the SS Comic Edition line in the near future.

The "canonical greenlight" was there from the character's inception way back in Animated. She was always just another seeker repaint, possibly with slightly more delicate features at the most. The Windblade repaint cope didn't start until later.

2027 is where the chances of a new set of Generations toys begin anew, if Hasbro survives to Fall of 2026, because we all lost confidence in the charlatans that took over the toy giant five years ago. The strangest part for me that it's Armada of all things that keeps getting these near misses. Armada designs are VERY simple at their core and they keep trying to do something different with every single one. At least Prime is excellent
>>
>>11648053
I think the problem is Armada is very gimmick oriented. All the features the toys had and the minicons. That's why many of them were bricks.
Hasbro, being the penny pinchers they are, try to match they gimmick heavy figures with the articulation people expect now and all kinds of bad compromises are made
>>
>>11648053
I’d argue that Starscream, Megatron, and Red Alert are pretty good as well. Wheeljack is nice too, but I won’t count him since he’s just a retool. Honestly, the worst thing about them is the lack of Mini-Cons since that is such a big part of Armada's identity

The TFWiki gets a good amount of things wrong with "dude trust me" tier information. The most Damning is the claim that Transformers Universe toy line was created due to how well Armada sales were. Armada came out only five months before Universe and both were announced at the 2002 Botcon. The success was from RiD which is where they got the idea for Universe because year two of RiD was just redecos of old toys and they still sold stupid well. But for some weird ass reason the Wiki demands you give credit to the toy line of Armada that came less than a year before it launched. You don't even need to understand how manufacturing works to know that's total bullshit.

>>11648080
That is the heart of the issue is the OG figures were very complicated in terms of getting the gimmick to work right. To get it to function correctly here and be in budget Sideway's head would have to be stationary here and it might have even cost him the torso joints too, but I wager people would take that price over this awful design.
>>
>>11648176
Considering most OC's from the comics don't sell well it's understandable they are cagey about making them. Rung ended up at deep discounts stores along with Legacy Jhiaxus, all the Windblades, etc. Basically if it wasn't a G1 toy originally the market just doesn't bite.

>The TFWiki gets a good amount of things wrong with "dude trust me" tier information.
They also take the Micron Legends fansub as God's word when making the comparisons between Japanese and English. There's times they claim the characters are saying something different between dubs when they're actually saying the same and the fansubbers just fucked up. I watched the sub last year and I know enough Japanese to spot several of those.

It's how Aaron Archer said it happened, but he's fumbled dates before. He had a video that talked about Armada being strong enough they needed a quick product to turnaround.
What I think it the more accurate view is that Armada had strong enough initial orders coming out of RiD's success. Since orders would be a few months in advance for a new line it could line up to a longer cycle between Armada hitting shelves and Universe.

A fair point but comic sales don't push the needle that great for their volume otherwise the UK comic and G2 in the US would have kept going as those books sold very well, just not the numbers Hasbro needed ie the toys didn't move.

>about hasbros utter retardation in handling the IP
I think it's just a money issue. Prime series was a high risk high reward that ended on the high risk part sadly, while other factors such as pulling the Hub stunt didn't help with cash flow the toys just didn't move. RiD in 2001 was a medicore show with a very poor time slot in the states (3:00 est time) the toys sold very well. Again a lot of movie parts but Hasbro has done worse with the brand and the toys moved well enough.

true, it's impossible to have a captive culture like before and with the smaller generations you can no longer make the number go up.

Nah they're right on that part, Armada is a shit ass dub that was rushed to come months earlier than it has to, MD is the true embodiment of what the writers (japanese ppl) wanted to tell (tho it was not w/o it's problems), proven by their Jap/Eng section on each episode & the LOTM 2003 year book

Nahhh, she was a cute addition to the group & Hayato Sakamoto was responsible for her design

>>11648398
Nah it's defo a lack of input, though I'll develop it in my next paragraph

>>11648406
All of this, no one seems to care at all until suddenly it's too late, a mishap was acknowledged by Hasbro and suddenly you hear that they were aware of the prblm in question (somehow), I had to correct multiple toy pictures because they were for many years in shit quality, flipped (as was Doubledealer) or had some problem since some were untouched as they were imported in 2009, I had to rework months ago the Dark Nova/Star Giant article because multiple of his forms were messed up & wrongly attributed

& even then it's never enough because there's like 5 ppl in this community (not the wiki, the whole western TF community) to understand japanese (while it represents half of the franchise mind you, if not more than that decades ago) & can help on that matter.
>>

>Nah they're right on that part, Armada is a shit ass dub
I'm not denying that, but there's still instances were the subs are wrong, the characters say the same as the English dub and the wiki takes that as a change between versions. So no, they're not right in that regard.
>>
>>11648722

Any of the old anime stuff being dubbed is bound to be crap. 50/50 on Cybertron because it did some stuff better than the Japanese version, surprisingly. If it's the other way around, it becomes crude humor that shouldn't exist.

On a different note, I had another stupid idea I'm sure kids who own more expensive releases tried: Has anyone tried fitting a Human Alliance figure in the chest of any Revenge of the Prime Leader Optimus mold? It was reminiscent of the one scene from the first movie where Optimus, Sam and Mikaela were escaping from Megatron.

it is funny, I immersed myself in past media to escape the present, what I found was that I'm standing on the shoulders of scads of people who all thought and acted the way I think is correct, and it's both sad that so many have fallen away, and satisfying to remember yeah, it's NOT just me, as the moderns like to claim. They try to gaslight us that the standards have always been as theirs are now, which then raises the question of why their view should be a protected minority, but.. old tv shows disprove em every time.

.. what? Transformers? Uh, i liked Beast Wars. I wish they'd been able to put Transmutate into stasis lock, poor girl. I bet the technorganic reformatting would have fixed her right up.

>I bet the technorganic reformatting would have fixed her right up.
Hell, with the number of times characters got their Sparks ripped out and transplanted into new bodies in BM, I'm fairly certain she could have been given a new, more stable body if she had made it back to Cybertron.
>>
>>11649758
>the number of times characters got their Sparks ripped out and transplanted into new bodies in BM
This is something that kinda irks me with Transformers. I'm getting into IDW recently and even with the grittier tone of that so many characters have (seemingly) meaningful deaths only to get revived later. It really cheapens it for me
>>
>>11649767
The really need to stop with that shit. Every comic kills off name characters to look like they're pulling no punches,
but because they're name characters, eventually SOMEONE is gonna want them back, especially if you bring in someone's fav character in your new continuity just to bump him off.
We all know it's pointless.
At least during the 80's/90's "push the merchandise" heyday, the writers were forced to keep a guy around for a while before they were allowed to whack him
>>
>>11649767
I prefer when it's not something you can do willynilly. it's very difficult, like when Rhinox recovered Primal's spark.
There are probably also body incompatibilities. but it does explain why they would keep blank protoforms on board, too.
>>11649769
it's at least meaningful if his toy- uh I mean character model changes. To me, anyway. like yeah i'll never be that guy again, now i'm in this body.
>>
>>11649769
It just ends up feeling silly, like the character death was just used to set up a new storyline because of grief/distrust/whatever. There's one character whose arc and death in IDW is really cool and made me like him more than I have ever before, but then he gets resurrected (as a double whammy, even) a couple of volumes later and now I can't even look back on the original moment untainted.
But I get it. Children's toy franchise. Still, I wish that the more adult-leaning media (like IDW) would shy away from it a bit more.
>>
>>11649774
yeahhhh i hear you..
you have to at least WAIT a while. hold your goddamn horses, i know you're pissing yourself with excitement but be a big boy and hold your bladder. THEN you can have the triumphant return actually maintain the weight of the sacrifice.
Liiike show that he missed out on something important in the life of someone else he cares about, while he was busy being dead, or...
>>
>>11649775
Yeah, that's a compromise I could buy. With the IDW examples I'm thinking of I believe it took a good while in terms of real time between releases, but when you're reading it back without having to wait for new issues it feels like they were barely gone.

I know we already got them, but I really like the Rainmakers. They're obvious recolors even in design, but there's something very charming to me about a brightly colored obvious C-team.

That's a snake, perhaps mine is defective?

It wobbles a bit inside the 5mm chest port, some angles it stays in but otherwise there's little to no resistance. Guess I'll have to swap it with another figure.

Little QC anomalies like these are so damn tiring, I wish I could force myself not to care. Could you do me a favor abd see if another 5mm peg weapon etc fits snug in the chest port for you?

This is gonna be a new one. I just watched the 1986 movie. I've never liked G1 itself because of the animation quality, so I never got around to this despite being into Transformers for 20 years. A friend of mine asked to watch it with me and I'm genuinely blown away by how good it looks. I guess the SS86 hype gained one more member today.

>>11649938
Nothing I could say the wiki didn't say better.
also yeah most of them are just like g1 knowledge stuff, but some of it is like, oh we made this new character for the movie and.. hey here's three of him in this shot
>>
>>11649935
The fidelity is quite good for the time, everything is really shiny and pretty, they shoved in a ton of detail whenever they possibly could

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the animation, which is still very much g1 TV tier messy and amateur. Unicron's death is the most "fuck it, all the camera angles!" shit ever, absolutely no thoughtful direction at all.

I suppose the notable part to me is that as a non-G1 fan it stood out to me as really impressively made. I flatout cannot get into G1 because it looks cheap to me, so I was expecting the same here. Glad to have more parts of the franchise to enjoy.

They really did
It was on the 30th(?) anniversary Bluray they said they cleaned it up so the details were more clear than the original theater projections
>>
>>11649950
I mean it makes sense as I've never seen a Walther that was flat gray.

The original toy is grey with chrome parts
If you mean the toon version, he was sometimes grey and sometimes silver, so either is fine

HOLY SHIT ANONS IT'S CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!

I found this Razorclaw for just 3 eur
it's all perfectly moving and has those neat 80s ratchety-metallic crickety-crackety joints!
im soo fucking happy - i always liked those bulky G1 monsters
it trandforms perfectly too and lion legs make him weirdly VERY posable.
i would fucking love this as a kid if i had
PS:
I thought that now when i have a torso it will be easy and cheap to complete G1 predaking but...wow...
even his limbs and wings are expensive..

I bought him and other "broken old toys" today and im so happy.
I want to go outside and return to that flea market to get more but i feel embarassed because i acted like a happy nerdy kid diggint throught that pile of vintage toys lmao (i have not seen such flea market rich with vintage toys for years)
PS:
They also had Voltron lions for 3eur/bucks each but i wasnt sure

I was wondering can I make it's elbow bend and ankle tilt without 3rd party upgrade parts, and took me some minutes to came out with this configuration. The biggest challenge is making the heels stable and both legs at equal length.

I know that Naruto Gamakichi figure's kinda based on the Beast Wars version of Spittor and not the TM2 version, but I wouldn't mind at all if they just repainted that version to do a new version of Goosher/Slapper from Car Robots/RID 2001. I'll take anything from that series. Though I don't know the likelyhood of them reusing crossover-toy molds..

I need to ask, as a Soundwave fag is the new SS86 worth, bc seeing that weird ass empty corner in his alt mode is kinda turning me off from it, the 86 line has been pretty good imo but they could've found a way to not have that fuck ass corner.

yeah that's not battle damage, that's weathering. that adds realism so the altmode looks less like a toy.
