Why did they make him a chud?
>>11651953swindle's always been a chud
"Not so Big" Convoy
>The Beastie Boys
>>11651953Chud accurate.>>11651886>That's the point - every new design is made with intentional flaws so they have an excuse to come back a few years later to remake itYou're nuts if you think they have any plans to revisit Big Convoy. Some updates are bad because they're trying to reinvent the wheel without understanding why these designs were made in a certain way the first time around. It's just incompetence, not some master plan.
>>11651968>fire convoy>is not on fireexplain this nips
>>11651968Canonically he's only 3mIt's his personality that makes him BIG
>>11651976>fire retard>posts on /toy/Explain this
Are the various retools and both the retro card and Legacy G1 Bumblebee the same size as the Netflix version? Or are they all super small even by the small mini bot deluxe scale size?
>>11651809I think the new Big Convoy still looks fine, but the big issue is mainly the shoulder kibble. On the original figure and the show model, the shoulder kibble added to his overall silhouette and gave the illusion of Big Convoy being a lot bigger than he actually was. The shoulder kibble on the new figure isn't just big enough and it's not in the right shape either
>>11652065once again a beast mode head is too small for both modes
>>11652065How do you make his shoulders as wide as possible and is this it
i wonder if we'll get a 3p version that fixes it but is in MP scale so he can't really replace this guy on a shelf...if so, I'll buy a repaint. Because who's to say he doesn't have an even bigger blue cousin or whatever? I can shelfcanon that as CHUG scale.but I feel like we kinda stopped getting those. Haven't seen a new one in ages.
>>11651976Fire (Firetruck) Convoy
>>11651891happy holidays my queens!
>>11652126*Merry Christmas
>>11652141It's not Christmas yet, Starscream you idiot
>>11652047Yes. Bumblebee, Gears and Outback are essentially just repaints of recent figures. They’re too small for my liking (especially with SS86 deciding that certain characters have to be huge now) but they’re the ‘correct’ size for the main Generations lines.
>>11651970Hasbros Down Syndrome Lio Convoy.....Some retard looked at this and went "yeah this is fine">>11652065Hes TOO wide. The OG toy still blows the shit out of this joke. It looks like a jpeg image that's been stretched.
>>11652156But are the legacy bumblebee figures (which are brand new molds) the same size as Netflix/four pack Bumblebees, bigger than them or smaller?
>>11652176I got Leo Prime a few months ago when he dropped to £7 and aside from the terrible lion head, I’d say he’s a decent toy. Decent enough that I’ve bought the Takara version for myself for Christmas.

This is just sad at this point
So, Shockwave gets his space laser gun mode?
>>11652201>bawww why current toys are more expensive than toys from 500000 years ago?? :(you can thank orange pedo for that
>>11652201>those flappy shell-parts on the old one>those legsyeah i like the new one better
>>11652201What kind of poses can the new one pull off that the old one was unable to?
>>11652204>tdsLol, schizo
>>11652206What's wrong with the legs?
>>11652201>worse colors>no ratchet joints>gimped cannon with retarded ladderCan we fire those hacks already?
>>11652209the design is bad overallcome on it's an old ass wobbly shellformer from one of the worst transformers era of toysThe new one looks more solid and he's not havin that annoying shitty "him i'm a 00s shell-former mess" kind of feel
>>11652201Worth noting that even when factoring inflation the left was still cheaper by about $25USD give or take. Even at Import price it wasn't anything near $50 back in 1999~2000.
>>11652213>worst erasStopped reading right there. Beast wars & its JP equivalents were definetly not that. It brought life to an nearly irrelevant franchise & the toys were great for the time.Either you're underage or a trukk not money fag
>>11652201after seeing how Black Convoy and then the Haslab God Convoy turned out I gave up on the newer toys being any good and just started working on the backlog. I get this shit is hard to do with modern budgets but the amount of phoning in is just too much for me.
>>11652220I'm actually a fan of beast warsbut that's 90s not 00s you zoomiealso your anime crap is not even Beast wars because nobody cares about these.
>>11652186You realise your saying that down syndrome lio convoy from Hasbro is so bad your buying the improved takara version to fix up their mistakes.>>11652201Point proven>>11652222Colors wrongProportions wrongsHead is tinyThin legsThin armsWorse than a 20+ year old toyHasbro being jewish charging nearly 80 for this
>>11652222Nice quads & its the best way to go. There are some good newer figures but they are few & far between.
>>11652226So you're retarded. Got it zoomer
>>11652229I actually don't hate the Legacy Laser Prime mould (I have Toxitron and think he's pretty nifty) but fuck did they mess up big time with Big Convoy. Might try and track down the OG on Mandarake or somewhere.
>takara gave the toy for free for PR>Couldn't bother to give one of the top JP toy channel a relatively good sample without the fucked up eye paintLike who dropped the ball here? >Vietnamese factory workers
>>11652237The visor seems painted fine to me. What are you talking about?
>>11652230>big convoy shitposter is brokenOh no i broke himdon't forget to cry about the price you poorfag, lmap
>>11652260
>>11652201New one is clearly going for a more anime vibe, which it does succeed at. I also like the old one, but if you breathe on him, he falls over. I think the only thing I don't like about the new one is the leg design where I would have preferred if it looked more Gundam-esque like the original. I hated the new one with a passion when I got him in hand, but when I woke up the next day, I found the value in him. He really does look just like the anime and for some reason he pictures like shit.I unfortunately sold my original Big Convoy a while back because one of his shoulder pauldron things broke at the ball joint. These comparisons of old though, and being all hyperbolic about it is fucking lame. You really don't have anything good to say about anything. And I don't mean you have to compliment anything, I just mean if the original came out today with no reference, you'd still be bitching about it, but since you have a new one to compare to in current day, you're going to be bitching about that one. You're always complaining and always will be.
She is correct
>>11652280>2017
>>11652275>New one is clearly going for a more anime vibe, which it does succeed atWhen in the show is he wide and overweight
I wish Takara milk the Lio Convoy mould and give us Black Lio Convoy, Dark Amber Leo Prime (this is the black body and silver mane color one), Galva Convoy, Flash Lio Convoy and the green one.
>>11652312I really want the green recolor version, after seeing the music video from Studio Trigger makes me really want that figure.
>>11652142it's not Christmas until Noddy Holder says it is
>>11652227>You realise your saying that down syndrome lio convoy from Hasbro is so bad your buying the improved takara version to fix up their mistakes. No shit, Sherlock. You figure that out by yourself?
I got the first of the three DNA upgrades for Devastator in. Not gonna lie I'm glad I did, the forearms for Bonecrusher help a lot and whilst installation is a bear (and the altered transformation is a bit fiddly) the freed up waist joint MASSIVELY improves the figure. Didn't bother with the booties though, they don't really do much.
>>11652206>>11652213Anon, the new legs are one of the worst parts compared to the old toy, what are you smoking. The lower half is just a front white panel of robot detail with huge ass hinges that look like ass and the rest is just folded mammoth bullshit. It's way more busy than the original, on that one there's the big panels with the missile launchers on each side for sure, but the back was super clean with the full front legs of the mammoth instead of a mass of folded pieces, and it actually had FULL robot legs instead of that single flat panel nonsense.
>>11652416i like the new chunky badass strong legs better it's a better figure overalli wont even touch any of 00s shellformers. It's all the same autistic faggot posting this comparison anyways so who the fuck cares. its already one of the best figures of 2026
>>11652437>i like the new chunky badass strong legs better
got myself an early Christmas Present
>>11652439he's stealing your beer
>>11652438eh..i'm okay with both of these. I MIGHT be talked into getting a recolor of this guy as his own guy
>>11652439Why did you open it before Christmas
>>11652439That's cool anon, but may I offer you another choice of beverage?
>>11652201the new one is better because I'm a poorfag and I'm too retarded to buy any toy older than 2 years old on ebayt. average tfw2005 poster
>>11652379I'm just waiting on the Hook and Long Haul double pack then I'm ready to build Devastator. Got the limb parts ready to go.
>>11652379I refuse to believe that DNA is not a Hasbro side hustle

Those are DVD-discs
>>11652511I think they mean RID Megs.
The cool Scourge
>>11652465Kek. Funniest part is that I got the official Korean release of Big Convoy on ebay ten years ago, all accessories, instructions and card but without the box FOR 16 BUCKS. The guy was selling a good bunch in the same condition, I'm guessing the boxes got water damaged or something because the figure was clearly brand new.People who were too afraid of buying on ebay back then we're missing out so much it's unreal. That was the golden age of official Korean releases of Japanese robot toys being sold for extremely cheap prices, also got a brand new boxed Magmatron for 24 bucks before that, and a big ass Eldran robot in a fucked up box for roughly 20, new with the stickers still unapplied.
>>11652531ha, same. god bless that korean release. wish they had the recolors for the same price
>>11652310Have you watched a second of the anime? I'd say he is wide and squat for like 90% of the show save for a few scenes where they draw him slightly skinnier.
>>11652528Do those legs even kick forward?
Barricade's pretty neat - I like how you can cram all of his weapons onto his alt mode. Just wish he had wrists.
>>11652798
>>11652804Hopefully we get a BW Clawjaw out of him without the clear plastic
>>11652798that is pretty gnar. i liked barricade.>>11652799such excellent legs. wait, doesn't he normally have like, wheel hands?>>11652801>>11652802help me out, what are these? they're showing as deleted for me.
>>11652817>what are these? they're showing as deleted for me.NTA, but he posted his Quintus pics sideways, deleted them, and reposted them rotated correctly.
>>11652828oh so it's s'posed to be like thatnevamind
>>11652817>wait, doesn't he normally have like, wheel hands? He did (and a whole different head) up until TLK, which this is supposed to be a toy of. He got fucked up during the Battle of Chicago, and ended up looking very different after his repairs.
>>11652807No.Aside from both having tentacles they are nothing alike.
>>11652831ahhh got it, thanks.
>>11652798giving him twelve billion firepower is the funniest shit, and it's such a fun little feature. Truth be told, I like him more than I thought I would, even if I think the feet look a bit fucked, and would've liked him to have the original figure's brass knuckles.
>>11652848Yeah, that's also why he's blue instead of silver - dude basically got a whole new body in TLK, just like "Galvatron".>>11652857>would've liked him to have the original figure's brass knuckles. That would've been cool. On the plus side, though, they remembered his wrist taser, which you can clip on either arm, though it's unpainted (it was yellow in the movie). They gave this dude a small arsenal.
Turns out Vector Prime's minicon has been a lady this whole time
>>11652899Never saw the Unicron Trilogy - is Safeguard's gender ever mentioned on the show? Do they even speak at any point?
>>11652899Mine's a dude.
>>11652905/d/ is for /d/ickbots
>>11652900Safeguard is a complete non-character
Any chance that Big Convoy will shelfwarm?
>>11652919Hopefully not or Nemesis Prime will get fucked like Cryotek did.
>>11652920Hopefully yes so I can get him
>>11652919I expect so. I’m curious to see which shelf warms hardest between Big Convoy and Razorclaw.
>>11652924Razor Claw doesn't look nearly as bad as Big Convoy, even with his tiny head and hands.
>>11652201>smaller bad
I like transformers and I think its lame that its taking so long for the new ones to come out. I will get flatline though like saturday. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter DJT
The only colour of this mold that was decent.
>>11652947smaller for more money is definitely bad
>>11652899not with those wide shoulders
>>11652950Honestly I relate. There aren't even many TFs I want next year particularly - just 3, (not counting the few overpriced SS86 figures I'd only get on discount), and I'm already being impatient about the two preorders I have lol.
Kranix when?
>>11652952man i want a new Thunderclash so bad
>>11652960He's been in the leak list for a while
Anyone else think the new Quickstrike looks lame? The original toy deco was so much better than the poorly animated cartoon.
>>11652967Nah, though I would actually like a toy deco version too.
>>11652899basically AOE Slash all over again
>>11652985Not impossible that it will happen though differences are minimal. I'd hop on it though I loved the toy-deco Kingdom versions.
>>11652966Yeah that’s the only reason I’m asking. It’s such an obscure character, I feel like the designer must have woken up from a fever dream with a flawless transformation scheme. Or it will suck, but I’m curious.
The product shot of Buzzsaw's wings folding up is a complete lie by the way. The actual toy is incapable of bending its wings upwards.
>>11652867was gonna say i didnt remmeber him being digitigrade but i LIKE it. Once again bayformers showing me why they're my favorite vehicleformers
>>11652899what a bold thing to admit that you don't know how to draw females
>>11652924Razorclaw is gonna be about whether they rerelease the upgrade kit. which itself is going to rely on whether they give us a silverbolt recolor. Which they would be mad not to.
>>11652899I can see it but also the toy doesn't give a hint of it nearly
>>11652960i love how he has that Vehicon thing of 'my altmode head is like my head and also my altmode has a head despit ebeing a vehicle' along with the overall BM thing of 'clearly could not really transform', and.. on top of all of that, he looks like Fugitoid
>>11652967the crotch is too low and the thighs too short.
>>11653030funny, i swear i see a joint there. do they fold DOWN?
>>11653042Another Beast Machines W

>>11653070ffff
>>11652439>Judas Priest collection in backgroundbased
I'm tempted to try figure swapping my legacy Soundwave for an SS86 Soundwave, but my stupid conscience is preventing me from doing it.
>>11653095good things will come to you, but more importantly, bad things won't come to someone else. Once you get in that mindset, you'll feel good about doing good.and it's contagious. someone else will not-do-a-thing-that-would-fuck-you-over and you'll be one-thing-less fucked over.
>>11653095Wait for someone else to do it first because you know they will, then you do it.
>>11653095I wonder if I should wait for a KO. They did do SS86 OP.
>>11653095Like swapping it out collection wise?Or you mean being a nog in a store with one?
>>11653124The ko makers are coming back it seems. This is what was just announced:>Leader Tigerhawk KO only in half, classic unfinished masterpiece…>SS86 Devastator KO part one, should be mutated.>New Optimus Primal toys on Temu, maybe.>SS86 Megaton KO, may be simplified and enlarged.>New Tyrannosaurus Rex, details unclear.>New Lion accessory pack, waiting for further news update.>12 new Optimus Prime toys added to Temu, possibly re-releases.>AOTP Quickstrike ko enlarged, simplified.>MP rattrap ko
>>11653116this assumes the false concept of a 'start.'it never starts, and it never ends. so you can't 'wait for it to happen to you first'
>>11653139>simplifieddid anyone want quickstrike simplified? he needs proportion tweaksi wish upgrade kits were back and cheaper, but oh well
>>11652920>put that dragon Megatron on my wishlist like three years ago with a comment "it's on sale for $35" >check the listing these days>$29Goddamn, I almost would buy it for myself I didn't hate it.
>>11653224can you even still get the upgrade kit?
>>11653252Why would I want that?
>>11653257makes it a better toy
>>11653260Nah it still is ugly and the deco is horrible.
>>11653264you'd prefer it to be more metallic, eh
I absolutely love this hulking big bastard.
>>11653273>There are still people who think the CW version is better.Absolute madness
>>11653298They look like 95% the same anon
>>11653299Studio Series is smaller but it's a lot sturdier.
>>11652924>check a review for Big ConvoyIt actually looks like it's fucking good>can't do shit about the textures>the only deciding factor is whether you can finangle it so you still get a decent width for his tusksI'm so fucking mad
>>11653302and a lot more expensive
>>11653310Well worth it, imo.
>>11653305elaborate
>>11653334What the fuck do you want from me>watch reviews for the old and new ones>yep the old one sure is a finnicky fatass that can move well in robot mode, but with fun gimmicks and missiles>the new mammoth looks dopey with a weird texture but I love mammoths in general and animal modes have cartoon eyes in Beast Wars Neo anyway>wow very dinky tonfas and missiles>actual butterfly joint so you and he are not just pretending that he's holding the matrix>optional stand for his cannon, which makes sense>people love not moving around the tusks, or straight up not having them attached>the elephant head bits definitely don't get as wider as the original, but I saw glimpses where the tusks were satisfyingly wide>the parts seem to generally move and cooperate better, whereas the older toy looks grander but sometimes more frustrating to deal with>still really love mammoths and elephants>literally everything hinges on whether the toy is able to get as intrusively and obnoxiously wide as the original
>>11653349Thank you, I now understand your sentiments.I haven't decided yet if i'll get a recolor, but that requires them to A) make one and B) give it to me for free
>>11653311No, no it isn't.
>>11653355Thank you for thanking meAnd yeah, that's some good thinking, point B is particularly crucial, at least for me
>>11653298It isSome stuff may be a little hollow but SS86 is literally a worse CW/UW but with maybe better articulation in some spotsThe SS86 being so god damn small is fucking insulting
>ss86Can someone point me to where Devy was a midget with wide chest in the movie?
https://news.tfw2005.com/2025/12/18/tiny-turbo-changers-returning-in-tra-core-line-553062I look forward to never seeing them in stores again.

>>11653372wonder if we'll get any new molds based off the cyberworld designs.
>>11653376That'd be nice. Or some reissues. Theres so many I missed last time.
>>11653349>optional stand for his cannonIt's not. If you don't deploy the stand you can't access the handle. At the very least you need to leave the fur panel hanging.Pretty absurd that they added a stand when the toy can hold it no problem this time around.
>>11653379>It's not. If you don't deploy the stand you can't access the handle. At the very least you need to leave the fur panel hanging.FUCK.>Pretty absurd that they added a stand when the toy can hold it no problem this time around.Ok fair enough..
>>11653367The CW feels like an oversized KO and is jank as fuck on hand. SS86 has accurate sized individual robots and a Devastator mode that fits with the new combiners heights. And the less we say about Fat Haul, Mixmaster's vehicle mode and the lack of basic joints on the individual robots unless you own the UW version, the better.
>>11653367>I ated the p- I ated all the pie. Demonstator, I ated the pie.
>>11653384I would discuss but >New Combiner HeightsI fucking hate Frameslop and will not take them serious nor even remotely consider them
>>11653408Good to see you agree on how it feels like an oversized KO and how bad the individual robots are. Also Devastator's proportions are way worse with those extremely high knees due to the ridiculously long shins and Scavenger arm looking like a thin pancake because you can't pose the shovel arm to obscure it.
>>11653367>"CW was better">posts CW toy loaded with upgrade kitsEvery fucking time.
>>11653451>Being retarded over hands/forearms>Somehow that invalidates the statement and is "Loaded with upgrades"Another fine cope
>"Dinner for two, please!"
>>11653495>"This way to the buffet!"
>>11653384CW Mixmaster is the weirdest shit to me, they changed his alt mode into a different sort of mixer truck just to give it a tiny fake cab so it can still form a foot like he used to.Why?

>>11653544so* gladand the original I mean. This just.. eh. I'll wait for the upgrade kit.
>>11653379>>11653382I just fold that panel back up against the arm. There's even enough articulation to use the other arm to make it look like it's supporting the cannon with two arms. The butterfly joints actually elevate the toy to kino. A few drops of paint and I think it'll be peak. The only customization I would want is a better way to fold over the mammoth butt into the gun mode.
>>11653471>Failing to see the new part on MixmasterYou didn't even notice because that's how it should have looked from the start instead of the weird thing we got.
>>11653515I saw this guy at Walmart and he's seriously tempting to me. I know nothing of the character other than he's a what-if Tigerhawk possessed by Unicron or something, but I do know he's a cool looking bot.I figure he'll shelfwarm for a while so I grabbed Big Convoy instead.
>>11652180Netflix Bumblebee and all of its retools are smaller than SS86 Bumblebee and Legacy Cybertron mode Bumblebee and the other minibot deluxe figures. Legacy and SS86 are the same scale as said deluxe minibot figures
>Friday night after work toy huntAll the latest waves are out hereBut I just can't believe I have to go to 3 different stores to find a brawl that doesn't have major paint issue with his orange visor or a big convoy with a clean white face plateThe Orange with brawl's eye seems a bit difficult to paint as it is not opaque enough to cover up the black plastic. And another one literally has a dust fiber stuck in the middle of the orange. The best one I can find you can still see hit of that blackness underneath the orange coat.As for big convoy it is with his white face plate. It seems to be very hard to get it perfect. The first one I saw has a chip on it the second I found have a blue streak across it. This one I got has a perfect face but the red patch on the forearm has a rather large overspread from the silver on the side. Talking about dropping the ball with the QC>These are mass produced consumer goods and you are letting your OCD getting the better of youYes I know.
AndWreck gar with no head Though I do have say the all the deluxes I saw all nearly prefect in their paint job if not way better than the voy and leader figure. I don't know if the factory put the deluxes on a higher priority or what

>>11653593Ok now make him as wide as possible
Something a bit different So the G1 transformers capsule wave 1 is here.I have the whole on pre order but the local shop has the machine so why not.So the box is taped on both side. The toy in the box is just a slightly slanted image of the original toy. It does give that 3D look if you don't stare to hard
If you ever get the set I recommend you keep them closed rather than open it
>>11653515Found him at WalMart. No Big Convoy though…
>>11652222I got a Black Convoy at BotCon 2000 when I was a kid. I lost it and all my other toys during an emergency move. Now they're rotting in a landfill.

I'm pretty good with these optionsPS:Will they make DANIEL?It's a pretty important human-character in the movie. I know they probably don't have guts to just make an articulated kid-figure under transformers brand but just to make the cast complete - they have to make Daniel (articulated and good quality with a detailed face) at least as some Con-exclusive of limited quantity if they are scared it will be shelf-warming as a regular release...PS:That core class is not Daniel
>>11653359It most definitely is. The sturdier build alone is enough to put it well above CW's rickety ass.

>>11654464here is a photo of what we got so far(actually i do want G2 dinobots despite what i said about "nobody wants" - i just dont think i can afford that much space to have both teams of dinobots...these are big figures and i alreadyt hink i have too many toys...but these DO LOOK SO FUCKING COOOL)

>>11654459>given that that kind of dinosaur is currently assumed to have a special head metamorphosis to become more sexy for the lady dinos, it'd be silly to make one a female..Well, yeah, except the morphology you're describing is that males get that big swollen done you see in pic related. Dracorex is believed to be either an immature Pachy (meaning both males and females look identical at that age) or a female (which would also be lacking the head dome).Regardless, as you've said, the sex of the alt mode is not really an indicator of the sex of the robot. We know for a fact Vertebreak, who uses the same mold, is female - both because she was addressed as such when she was announced, and because she showed up in the mobile game and had an entire storyline for herself (she's a violent, bloodthirsty psychopath who has no qualms about attacking her own teammates and is currently working as BW Megatron's bodyguard...who she has a yandere-esque crush on).
>>11654492the thing i'm describing is as I described it. those are obviously male spikes. In any case, yeah.man that is not the personality i'd give that figure if I had it.. doesn't look bloodthirsty.
>>11654434Waiting for the studio series release, even if it's likely just a package refresh/repaint.
Hello /toy/, tourist here. How dumb of an idea is it to jump in off the deep end and pre-order the new predacons set after not playing with Transformers since I was a kid (still love the cartoons though)? It feels like a significant amount of money to drop on a whim but on the other hand I'm pretty in love with it after randomly stumbling upon it.
>>11654547if you're truly in love with it, get it. Check out a video review first so you can see them in action, see how they work, but.. I think you'll be able to handle the transformations. This isn't Masterpiece we're talking about, where only experienced collectors need apply. If you can wait, then wait. Everything plummets in price now if you just hold out.
>>11654440no it's not. stop being a hamhands and your figures will hold together better
>>11654379You mean write a girl NOT being an angry bitch?

>>11654576>not that guy.
>>11654580Everything is a Takara design.
>>11654550Hmm, interesting, does stuff like this actually drop in price these days? I always understood collectables like this to go up in value (providing the condition is fine I mean). I didn't even think about the transformations but you're right, probably a relevant concern. Thanks for the input.
>>11654605Well let's make sure I'm not talking out of my ass, we ARE talking about something from Age of the Primes, right? A standard mass-market non-limited-release retail product? I'm searching my brain and the wiki and I'm not seeing any 'the new predacons set' so now I'm confused.and yes, this is how collecting is now. Too many versions of the same thing too close back to back. Like how we have to refer to different iterations of a given franchise by their release year now e.g. ninja turtles.
I've got Razorclaw on my desk right now. How long until we see the next wave of leaders? How long until I see them finally try to translate this into plastic?
>>11654611Oh no sorry I should have been more specific. I actually meant the "Adamas Machina" one that comes out next year. My understanding is it's still Takara but a more specialised product. So actually maybe it is this masterpiece thing you're referring to?>t. dummy
>>11654576I think the shill would be on the side of buying new product rather than defending 10 year old product
>>11654619ohhh yeah no, I shouldn't have assumed.Adamas Machina stuff is limited, not likely to be discounted, and.. yeah, very expensive. But you know what? high quality. Worth it. At least going by their Zoids entries. Some parts might be a little fiddly, but the quality seems worthy of the price tag.>still TakaraI'm confused on it myself, I think they're a third party, or else they are what HAL/Gamefreak is to Nintendo

>>11654622>I'm confused on it myself, I think they're a third partyThey're part of Takara, so it's official. In fact, it's listed on Hasbro Pulse (though it's now out of stock), so it's definitely not a third-party thing.
>>11654438Were Hot Rod and Daniel actually friends? Or was was it just a glorified babysitting gig foisted on him by the other Autobots to keep him out of trouble?

>>11654625>>11654615the temptation for them is going to be to make liege a big war machine tank, but I really hope they go in a different direction. The fact that "Liege" derives from the concept of being a truly free man, I think a spaceship makes more sense. It makes more sense for his hub-related backstory if he was able to travel easily from planet to planet by himself.

>>11654839Applying this much stickers means you can't play with this toy anymore. It looks good btw.

Man, Amogus Prime's limbs can turn into vague vehicles w/ wheels, wings and treads, but it sucks that the main body by itself is a big-nothing altmode. Also the head keeps falling off and I'm waiting for the acrylic to dry.
>>11655489Nah man the gay fujo-appeal one is Metal Cardbot. Tobot's the one that did a reboot 2 years ago to appease korean unc fans.

>>11655473To me, these modes doesn't look like anything.>>11655644I think that is more Diaclone inspired than Sentai. Whichever it is, it failed to be either.
>>11655656'fail' might be dramatic, but it's certainly clear which mode was prioritized. and in-universe, that doesn't make as much sense, since he SHOULD be the other way around, a robot forming out of the available parts of a bunch of machines.
>>11655599Does anyone actually care about G1 Sunbow Swerve? Did he do anything other than get stepped on by Trypticon? Say what you will about IDW, at least they had him do something.
>>11655731It's Hasbro's character, THEY should care at the bare minimum. Faggot.
>>11655223Exactly the same
Got my NarutoformersGamakichi would really have benefitted from a double ankle hinge so they could fold away better, his robot forearms are so shrimpy. It looks like they prioritized the frog thigh orientation, though that should have been easy to avoid. swapping them would improve robot mode but i'm not doin thatand sadly his frog arms cannot hinge forward enough in robot mode to do like Spittor did where I pretend he can fire lasers out of the toepads. Is he meant to represent someone specific? like the Kurama one looks like Naruto. You can put his tanto in his mouth which I think is way better than the scroll case thing. very tempted to display him in beast mode, something I haven't done in ages.
>>11655805Kurama's paw-knees don't lock in nearly as well as his moldfathers, and they're not looking great in beast mode either. not sure why they did that. cheetor already basically had good fox paws. The ball joints are REAL loose on the fox shoulders.. definitely won't be bothering with this guy's beast mode muchall in all, glad I got it at a discount, because -yeesh-
Actually Gamakichi's frog arms have a weird, almost pointless extra shoulder rotation point that actually lets him reach UNDER his robot arms with them and.. I guess that counts?
>>11655731How do cartoon and IDW Swerve even look different? As far as I can tell it's only because people think he should have a goofy smile permanently etched into his face sculpt (he shouldn't); other than that the "two characters" are effectively the same guy and look the same anyway.
We got 2 Hotrods in studio series before Rodimus Prime.
>>11654074I guess I could put him with my G2 guys, now that he's even more pink. I want my G1 Hot Rod to use the Velocitron colour scheme, if they ever find a place to release that.
>>11655819IDW Swerve is some sort of deformed homonculus with arms growing out of his ears that reach his knees.
>>11655930he's a robot. It doesn't need to have normal humanoid proportions and anatomy.
>>11655930And to be clear, the IDW trannies are upset that he *doesn't* look like some abomination and is instead a perfectly normal looking Autobot?
>>11654035Why do alt modes always look like fucking SHIT now? They're making it real easy to save my money for missing links. Even if they're overpriced as fuck, at least they get the concept of "robots in disguise" right.
>>11654101With a craft knife and enough patience, you can make the hinge functional. You'd have to find your own Energon cube to fit in there though. A 2x2 Lego brick easily fits but the closest I can get to an Energon looking colour is glitter trans-dark pink.
>>11655896SS86/The Movie figures sell really well compared to everything else, I'm sure we'll see a new commander class for him eventually.
>>11655984They flipped flopped a lot on how they'll do it, last I heard, they ditched the repai t of Kingdom without trailer and wanted to do a new version that went from robot to vehicle like show Ultra Magnus.
>>11654546Cyclonus will definitely be a repaint. Too bad they'll get rid of the clear parts and give him boring grey biceps/thighs. Gen Selects will remain the best colour scheme.
>>11654406Very nice. Fingers crossed Sludge isn't yellowed out of the box like mine was.
>>11655731It shouldn’t be that hard to make a good swerve anon
>>11654991Shard is a 'maybe one day' pretool for Energon Bulkhead, right? Like how TF One mainline Sentinel Prime is basically Energon Megatron.
>>11655530All of those mushroom pegs should be 5mm posts as well. Simulating battle damage would be a lot easier if more Transformers were designed to be disassembled.
>>11655930>>11655970>rent free
>>11655599This is what happens when you base your new toys on a poorly made cartoon instead of the original toy.
>>11655993>ditched the repaint of kingdom without the trailerGood. Don't try to sell me an incomplete toy. I'm still mad about Armada Nemesis Prime. Not sure why they'd made a Rodimus that incorporates his trailer into his robot mode though. It rolls off and on screen like Optimus'.
IDW sucks

>>11656040The Superion case is isolated so far, the guy gave it to some customized, who left it a shop that's apparently really hot for over a month, and that shop could have chemicals in the air that could have reacted with the figure. Meanwhile, Omega Prime was a fuck up at the factory, no one knows if batches that came white are prone to yellowing quickly.
>>11656015Anon, swerve's toon design is almost identical to his toy one, details and all. This is entirely hasbro's incompetence.
>>11656100i guess if silverbolt yellows, I can get out the clear yellow paint and change him to.. goldenbolt. but then I'm gonna wanna get the japanese release, if they ever do one.
>>11656101my very early childhood memories are fading, and I'm forgetting how I was able to enjoy this kind of transformer, where it barely transforms and becomes a completely goofy robot brick
>>11656102Silverbolt is fine, the parts that yellow are that while hinge that helps fold the chest piece and the back hinge that holds Silverbolt in place.

One of you could have at least posted a picture of IDW Swerve so the anons at least know what you're angry about.
I went to 4-5 Walmart today and best I could find was Wreck-gar x 2 and 1 Amalgamous. I wonder if I should have grabbed an extra Amalgamous to attempt making a bigger abomination or just grab Wreck-gar even though I suspect he'll rot on shelves like trashmaster for almost a year.
>>11656014>le rent free lololNeither of the two anons you quoted are the ones who brought up IDW to begin with anon, calm down and go dilate elsewhere.
>>11656210IDW is gay retarded shits there's a reason they lost the license
I wish bots weren't so obvious on this stupid site. It's just boring now.
>>11656287Care to point them out?Aside from posts you don’t like of course
>>11656213You can grab both, and use Wreck-Gar to make a bigger Amalgamous.
>>11656004My point is why do we need a G1 cartoon accurate Swerve at all when he literally did nothing? For the record I don't particularly want an IDW Swerve either, but if you must make a Swerve for some reason at least make it the one that has actually done anything memorable whatsoever.
>>11656320Why?Just make one that people like the design ofDo you not think the one I posted looks good?I think he’s great
>>11656320The most memorable thing Swerve did in the cartoon.
>>11655731>>11656320Man, they did & are dead set on doing G1 Minibots, it's logical that Swerve follows by being his G1 self, that's like doing the G1 Stunticon team while making TFP Breakdown because "muh do we need G1 Breakdown??"Yew tf we do nigga, finish the team, be coherent about it
>>11656320They already did a decade ago, go buy that one
>>11656331False equivalency. Breakdown is part of a failry prominent combiner team, you need him to finish Menasor. Swerve is just a bare-bones retool of Gears and was only in the cartoon for about a minute.Though I will say G1 Breakdown being replaced with TFP Breakdown would have made me laugh quite a bit.
Lotta tooner talk about "well it wasnt that important in the cartoon", these are toys sir not cartoon characters.
>>11656353Worse, it's a Muh Relevancy fag.
Ok this is actually pretty cool
>>11656294>Aside??>>11656320>My point is why do we need a G1 cartoon accurate Swerve at all when he literally did nothing? What does it matter what he did or didn't do though? The whole point of G1 Swerve (be it toy or toon) is that he's a recolor/retool of Gears. So if you're finishing off a collection of new G1 minibots, that is what he's supposed to be.There should also be an element of respect to the original material at play, as opposed to misplaced reverence towards Nick Roche's officially licensed fanfic. And besides, if you any of the elements of imagination left in you you had as a child not completely burnt out yet, then you can picture any toy of Swerve in your collection having "done" whatever you want. I might get him and say he used to barback for Alchemist Prime or something if I wanted the IDW influence (I don't). But you and I can both do whatever we want. None of that means there needs to be an IDW influence on his character design even IF that's the version you want your Swerve to take after.
>>11656331Eh, I mostly agree with you and I was just arguing with the IDWfag but this is kind of a different thing. Prime Breakdown is a different character and he literally exists in the same continuity as the Stunticon Breakdown sometimes, he's just a different person with the same name.IDW Swerve and G1 Swerve are literally the same guy though, just different takes. Actually, not even that because there's nothing about G1 Swerve that explicitly says he *wasn't* a goofy bartender in his past life before the war or something. It's just IDWfags wanting attention and not respecting the fandom chain of command and thinking they have seniority.
>>11656364Eh, I don't think it's a bot, he's just an autistic retard
>>11656364>What does it matter what he did or didn't do though?Because he's taking resources and budget away from things that need it more than a literal who with a minute of screentime who could probably have been skipped over anyway.
>>11656402>muh slots
>>11656364>There should also be an element of respect to the original material at playThe "original material" does not deserve respect. G1 S3 was pretty bad and FFOD was no exception. Now if we get Swerve doing something good in Skybound, then we can talk.
>>11656402>we need toys of my tranny faves from IDW
>>11656408Or how about something other than fucking G1 for once? How about Armada Demolishor or Cyclonus? How about literally anything from Energon?
>>11656410They're rolling out UT toys now. Where have you been? Hot Shot's had 5 figures. UT Starscream's had 3. UT Megs had 5...
>>11656355I like this. Shame the Camera isnt Reflector
>>11656355poor Cliffy
>>11656419I mean, there is a perfect one out there
>>11656320Or maybe... just maybe... make one that's simply a good toy in its own right. Just make a cool-looking little red and white truck guy with big chunky wheels, and I'll buy it. Promise.Everyone is wondering why transformers fucking suck now, and it's because the concept of them being a "toy" has been put on the back burner. Tooners won and they're still miserable. What now?
Considering TF is still going fairly strong, I'm surprised nobody has brought back Circuit Breaker in some way. Doesn't Hasbro put out Marvel's characters as toys?Even if Hasbro can't, someone could. They made a figure of Death's Head
>>11656423Tooner here, I'm actually happy
>>11656423Can we go back to toys having actual play value? Like Wild King did. That's why I always prefer Takara Tomy side of TF, they always invent new play features for their original IPs.
>>11656430If you didn't mind Wildking being 20 retools of the same core molds, you should check out their other not-TFs from the past decade. They have better limb joints than wildking too, some ratcheted. There's also toyrise
>>11656430I missed Combiner Wars, Titans Return era.
>>11656440I got Toyrise King Exkaiser in the mail this weekend, but haven't cracked it open yet

>>11656440>If you didn't mind Wildking being 20 retools of the same core moldsTo be honest, the same can be said for Shinkalion CW and Jobraver...
>>11656445I know. Marvel owns Circuit Breaker. But doesn't Hasbro put out Marvel comics character toys?Like I said, Marvel owns Death's Head too but managed to get a figure out of him.
>>11656445>I didn't even really want Swerve but you fags are making me want to pick him up out of spite.Hasbro's marketing team wins again.
>>11656447Yeah, but Death's Head isn't as hard a sell for what is (ostensibly) a children's toyline than a naked woman wearing electrical tape.
>>11656451>a naked woman wearing electrical tape.at one time, she'd would be sold out
>>11656320IDW swerve already has a generations toy. G1 swerve doesn't.
>>11656446We can see Takara Tomy's plan for turning its popular toylines into robot lines:- Shinkalion for Plarail- Jobraver for Tomica- TF Wild King for Ania? (I know this is a stretch.)
>>11656424She has too much skin exposure so they won't make her in Marvel Legends line.
>>11656355Being a Cliffjumper fan is pain
>>11656504I don't get why they can't do a Masterpiece Cliffjumper. Yeah the car is a Porsche but it's so bent out of ahape, it cant still be a trademark infringement, can it?
I know this is not related to TF but I've been trying to find this with no success. I just want my Boob robo.
>>11656509The rumor on Chinese sites is that Takara had some issues with a Chinese factory and somehow lost acess to that mold and a few others. Supposedly, it's why no release after MP 44's original have the trailer, because they made the mold again in a new factory, without the trailer.Sounds like bullshit since they would still have a cad model, but that was the excuse.
>>11656452I'm sure she'd be a big hit with the hot-glue circuit but it's really not the kind of thing Hasbro should be doing anon, leave it to the 3rd parties.Forget Swerve; THAT would be a much bigger wasted slot.
When are we getting BIG Ravage?in G1 ravage when attacking autobots is as big as minibots like Brawl or Bumblebee.i need big G1 Ravage why hasbro is not making one? minibot sized ravage is a perfect idea(yeah i know that core class exicsts but it's not G1)
Hasbro is really fumbling the ss86 mold. They could have had 20 redecos of this man out by now.
>>11656550Instead it's what? The original release, a refresh, Skybound, and now this?Normally there'd be at a Nemesis and a Shattered Glass by now
>>11656550Hoping it shelfwarms. Not paying 60 for it
>>11656550damn I knew i should not buy Megatron or Optimus.pretty sure there will be many versions of these.Idk may be i will buy the first one...how better it could be in the future?i surely don't need a "dead damaged Megatron or Optimus" in my collection
>>11656551I really wish the would do more Gen Selects to get obvious repaints of characters like this out of the way. It’s really annoying having to pray they end up in the mainline or as an exclusive somewhere
>>11656601I guess the diaclone redecos didn't sell very well since they stopped doing them.
>>11656608That didn't seem to be the issue, it seems more like the selects method didn't work, it's why we now get big ticket items as selects. We still get the toy only repaints or oddballs as a capsule for walmart or target.
>>11656424She's a shit character and the worst in comic story telling >ARGH I HATE ALL ROBOTS>only attacks autobots
Found Big Convoy at Walmart, love him. But also, he has these weird square holes on his front mammoth legs by the 5mm port. What are these for? Or are they just some weord toy-accurate detail they decided to include?
>>11656632I'm just saying that I'm surprised Marvel hasn't tried to cash in.
>>11656546https://youtu.be/bONtMlzdgus
>>11656622What was wrong with it? had to be better than the Walmart exclusive bullshit which was a total disaster
>>11656546I don't know if Ravage was meant to be big or Bumblebee was meant to be small.>minibot sized ravage is a perfect ideaMinibots are all Deluxes now, and I don't see Hasbro making a deluxe scale cassette transformer.Might have to make due with the Masterpiece or Titans Return version.
>>11656652>>11656652>I don't know if Ravage was meant to be big or Bumblebee was meant to be small.>>minibot sized ravage is a perfect idea>Minibots are all Deluxes now, and I don't see Hasbro making a deluxe scale cassette transformer.During the cartoon ravage turns into a panther/jaguar of a size normal for that animal. So he can fight minibots.I always found stupid how tiny ravage is.he should "grow up in size" when coming out of Soundwave so we need a bigger size Ravage.right now the SS86/Studio series Ravage is super TINY
>>11656648Generally that not all stores got them, most selects are only on Hasbropulse and other toy sites and most consumers would rather get them on Amazon or other storefronts without the extra shipping charges.
>>11656652>>11656655They're prioritizing "fits in Soundwave" much to every Ravage's detriment. And if they didn't, you'd get the usual screeching from those people that a toy wasn't restricted to a toy gimmick from the 80s
>I am machine.>I never sleep.>I keep my eye wide open.
>>11656672Why the big glowing boob, tho?
>>11656550>Shard of rubble can slot into the gridAs someone that enjoys spending hours autistically recreating scenes from movies and shows with toys, this appeals greatly to my sensibilities. Here's hoping the Megatron equivalent will finally include the Prime killing gun.
>>11656663well we already got plenty of Ra...aw fuck..man...yeah you are rightretarded autistis would cry about not being able to "make it fit inside" or some bullshit like that...
>>11656681Clearly the solution is to make Deluxe class Mini-Bots even smaller, so they scale correctly with Ravage. Seriously though, it’s weird we never got Core Mini-Bots as an idea, feels like they’d be perfect for that and would scale pretty nicely with the Deluxe G1 Optimus
>>11656360that is kinda cool. needs more 'abdomen' and i'm surprised there wasn't a ton of meat left over to make it with, but still
>>11656451it was in my daywomen's suffrage was a mistake
>>11656632>>only attacks autobotsWhile I agree the character is shit, she very clearly attacked Skullgrin and Shockwave anon. The Skullgrin thing even got a whole issue devoted to it.
>>11656701You say that but a lot of the boy’s toylines I’ve studied always hesitated to add female characters because they were afraid they wouldn’t sell (Transformers, Toy Biz Marvel Legends, Macfarlane DC)
>>11656701Boy's don't like girls. So you are aiming for a very small niche if your target audience are the 4-10 range.
>>11656323But that that looks like shit. Robot mode is pretty good thoughbeit. >>11656004
>>11656443It's pretty fun. Really looking forward to Dragon Kaiser and base GaoGaiGar... and even Goldran in the future maybe? Please?
>>11656364 extremely telling that the second someone asks for anything that isn't Sunbow completionism, you jump immediately to "muh fanfic". Sometimes I let myself believe it's Hasbro's fault that the franchise has been doing nothing original or interesting for the past 15 years, but then I remember people like you exist.I don't even have anything against G1 Swerve. He's an easy retool to make and would've been neat if they didn't fuck him up - it's TFA Ratchet that's a travesty, up there. But you're not even trying to be subtle. Kindly piss off, ay?
>>11656714that's one of those self-fulfilling things. Things that aren't made can't sell. A bigger issue though is they just do so clumsily. they add goofy accessories to justify the price of a smaller figure, they fuck up the smaller details of the faces and hands...>>11656716not even remotely the point at hand. And we liked sexy ones. they gave us the funny feelings.
>>11656747>extremely telling that the second someone asks for anything that isn't Sunbow completionismThrilling 30 Swerve literally exists though anon, a new Swerve figure without the IDW baggage does not. Cope and seethe more. Also no one said anything about Sunbow, people want a new Swerve because he was part of the original G1 TOY lineup of minibots. You can then headcanon the new TOY of Swerve to be what/whoever you want.
>>11656750>not even remotely the point at hand. And we liked sexy ones. they gave us the funny feelings. So why a dyke cut character instead of someone beautiful?
Does the Origin Bee jetpack fit on Siege Sideswipe?
>>11656758yes
>>11656755Not the point. You literally blinded yourself to the part where I said I wouldn't have minded a G1 Swerve, I'm a G1 minibot completionist myself. The point is that there hasn't been any Swerve toys besides G1 and T30 for a VERY good reason: literally-who completionists aren't and should never be the target audience. Only one coping and seething about that fact is you, here.
>>11656764>literally who characters are...LE BAD>unless they're the literally who characters that *I* wantYour arguments are extremely dishonest anon. Furthermore this is a franchise FULL of "literally who" characters and some of them are in demand and sell very well. That IS the target audience; you ignore that and you'll have store shelves filled with nothing but Bees and Optimus Primes and nothing else forever.
>>11656756>dyke cutyou have terrible tastes
>>11656720That’s what he looks like thoughIf you don’t like that then you don’t like his design>>11655599
>>11656784Doesn't that mean the toy doesn't have Swerve's design?
>>11656694what size is Core again?
>>11656806not that guy but core core-responds roughly to Beast Wars 'basics' in height, though not remotely in mass.
>>11656655That's why you should get a KO Masterpiece Ravage
>>11656807Like a Legends class?
>>11656771>"literally-who character = character I dislike"You are really in no position to be talking about biases. As a fan of actual G1 glup shittos, I know my place. Learn yours.

>>11656831You just pointed out that the 3P toy also resembles the shitty fanmade model sheet, not how he actually looked.

>>11656833I remember doing a double take when seeing the price of Cyberworld guys at Meijer.
Re: Swerve I'm just glad they made him so we can get the G1 cast "out the way". Gears is a good mould, but I will be honest I find getting hyper-fixated on toon accuracy to Swerve a bit pointless. As mentioned he had very little screentime so I find it hard to believe cartoon Swerve specifically made that big an impression on anyone. I'd have thought Swerve fans would be happy he was being made at all rather than bitching he's not toon-accurate enough.>>11656824I still want this little guy. Cute robot mode and I love the cube car.
>>11656824>dedicated Titan Master seatMan, these were so cool. I miss this kind of integration in the line. I wish they'd still put out those Titan Master sets. Hell, I miss Lengends/Core class period. Small cheaper bots were the heart and soul of this franchise and it sucks not having them in the main line.
>>11656824Alas I don't have anything from that era to compare to. Unless any of the movie Dinobots were legends
>>11656851oh wait a tic, was PotP Slash a legends? Because she's roughly a core class, yeah. maybe like 8% smaller at most

>>11656839>rather than bitching he's not toon-accurate enoughThat literally never happened at all in this thread, it's IDW fags who seem to think their version of Swerve is supposed to rightfully supersede all others (and by "all" others, I mean the original, yes).
>>11656830My "place" is far above yours anon. Though I admit I don't even know what you're trying to say anymore, since you seem to be trying to argue with me while simultaneously also agreeing with me.

>>11656852Yes, Slash was a Legends class. They made most of the mini bots in that scale, although many of them weren't terribly accurate since they were repaints. You had correct ones like Powerglide or Beachcomber and lamer ones like Pipes

>>11656871

>>11656877>We can not be this buck brokenThe simple fact is that the "dollar store shit" is an actual toy that is fun to play with. Mainline garbage is ugly tooner trash with half-assed transformations and garbage alt modes, and pricetags that keep creeping higher and higher. The only good thing you can say is that ankle tilts are standard, but was that really worth it?Outside of the one or two weeks of fun everyone had combining weaponizers/fossilizers/modulators into ridiculous monstrosities, most of the retail line stuff has been pretty dogshit since PotP. I'd happily go back to "forced gimmicks" because at least that prioritized some sort of play function.
>>11657302Blokees aren't transformers and Earthspark was a show for literal toddlers that is now cancelled. Why are you so obsessed with such inconsequential things? Oh, right, because the mainline toys are all tooner garbage now and there's nothing worth buying, plaything with, or posting pics of, so you have to deflect your inner frustration onto something else because if you stop seething for two seconds you realize that's the only emotion you know how to feel anymore and the emptiness starts to creep in.
>think IDW was fine>Also like the more cartoon accurate figures that have been coming out latelyI guess I'm the odd man out here. I just want cool looking robot toys, I don't care what source material they're pulling from.
Poor anon that never got "tooner" to catch on but still doesn't give up is so mindbroken and retarded, he now tries to pass his dollar store kids toyline purchases as based and epic. I hope you have a happy Christmas, tooner anon.

>>11657368>Funny how i had no interest in Superion but after seeing the whole crew in the comics i kinda want these planes...I-is this how advertisement works...?Yes. I was sticking mostly to Beast Wars shit prior to picking up the first four issues of Skybound. Two years later and I'm all in on every G1 figure they put out. I also love the 1986 movie though, so that might have been inevitable.>It made me excited for that 2026 Thundercracker character. i dont remember anything about him from G1 but in Skybound he is greatSkybound Thundercracker is an awesome take on the character and I'm really glad that bit early in the run where he chooses to spare those humans is finally coming to something. Conversely, I love that Skywarp is just the sociopathic thug he always. None of Starscream's ambition or Thundercracker's sense of honor, just a piece of shit who takes delight in inflicting suffering on anything that isn't a Decepticon.
>>11657308>no see PotP was actually awesome>and TFs have gotten *worse* since thenImagine having taste this bad.
>>11657418I just noticed thatChrist hasbro
>>11657421>Yes. I was sticking mostly to Beast Wars shit prior to picking up the first four issues of Skybound. Two years later and I'm all in on every G1 figure they put out. I also love the 1986 movie though, so that might have been inevitable.I was also sticking to mostly 1986 movie.it has the best cast so i was out of "random bots" in my collection. Just top tier famous ones - DInobots/Sharkticons/Sweeps/Etc.But this comics made me want to have Cliffjumper and Superion and some others.I now finished the "cool art" arc and it's the other artist with more "normal Marvel-style art" right now... i hope the comics will continue be awesome like it was at the beginning.Holy shit that Starscream with fat evil grin was top tier.
>>11657418>But the Skybound Optimus has painted shins! (like he should have had in the first place but Hasbro were too cheap)They were unpainted because that's how he looks in the cartoon. Weirdly enough painting them now makes it inaccurate to the comic. Who knows what the guys at Hasbro are thinking.
>>11657520>Holy shit that Starscream with fat evil grin was top tier.forgot to postand picrel is not even the "fat evil shit eating grin".I liked how the first artist was drawing the actual EVIL grin on Starscream's face.it was so specially drawn - i never seen any joker-ish grin like that.
>>11657236I still don't understand it - both Cryptek and Sunstorm are probably the two most wanted repaints of any character these past few years (ESPECIALLY Sunstorm - people have been looking for him since Siege), yet they seem to be actively avoiding doing them. Fractyl and Pack Rat were also easy repaints that people were pretty vocal about wanting (especially after Kingdom Terrorsaur released), but Hasbro waited so long that the demand in them seems to have died out completely.Do they just not want easy money anymore? Especially when we're talking about straight repaints that require no additional tooling to make?
>>11657520Cliff was technically in the movie, though very briefly. And I'm not a G.I. Joe person at all, but I'd still put down money for H.I.S.S. tank Screamer.
>>11657532>Cliff was technically in the movie, though very brieflya lot of normal car-autobots were in the movie lolPS:btw i was so happy to see Superion.it was a brief moment when autobots found at least some hope. I don't remember when i felt like that (the feel of hope and happiness for a moment) in pop culture. Like in In a moment of dark despair, a team of warriors emerged who could help you fight back - it was so good even if it lasted just a few pages.PS:I had no idea i actually hate Shockwavewhat a shitty character. in fact...all decepticons are unlikable may be with an exception of Starscream just because he does his stuff because he's "insane". But other deceptions just making you hate them.
>>11657543>a lot of normal car-autobots were in the movie loli forgot the picture again...(when i watched the movie first time before G1 i thought Arcee looking at the bunch of just random "civilians of an autobot city"...i had no idea that pile of bodies were actually famous and well known and loved characters...)
>>11657090you create a protoform by taking a regular transformer and putting him into a stasis pod, where his body goes into stasis and becomes malleable and stops needing energy. An important thing in an energon-stingy time.
>>11657531>cryotekI think it's because dragon megs bombed so hard>pack ratthey killed core class>Fractylthere was a big pushback against terrorsaur being so undersized, and he already got a recolori wish takara would give us some recolors..
>>11657543>btw i was so happy to see Superion.it was a brief moment when autobots found at least some hopeThe constant 'things are fucked beyond all repair' of the first 25 issues was really great. I'm also getting preemptively hyped for Thundercracker taking Slingshot's place in Superion.>I had no idea i actually hate Shockwavewhat a shitty character.>In fact...all decepticons are unlikable may be with an exception of Starscream just because he does his stuff because he's "insane". But other deceptions just making you hate themStarscream gets a little bit of a pass from me because Megatron's influence is what drove him to become a monster. Shockwave is a real bastard bot though. That said, I really loved all the Punished Magnus stuff. His 'I know how to die' speech before rallying all the surviving Autobots against Megatron is maybe the most emotionally moved I've been by a piece of TF media since Code of Hero (even if it ultimately amounted nothing).
>>11657546>i thought Arcee looking at the bunch of just random "civilians of an autobot city"..And the funny thing is, narrative-wise nothing would have really changed if they had been. But the creators decided to go for shock value, and these were guys not in that year's toy catalog, so...The other funny part about that scene is that originally Wheeljack was supposed to survive, and even take part in a sub-plot on Earth after Magnus's group leaves. But Chris Latta (his voice actor) being a pain in the ass to work with behind the scenes likely put the kabosh on that. Hence also Starscream getting killed so he could be moved to "special guest star" status in season 3 as a ghost.
>>11657418>>11657521This. Fag whining for it to be painted are being retarded as always.
>>11657582TFTM made men out of us
>>11657558>dragon megs bombed so hardThat was their own fault. His initial release sold out completely; when the package refresh came along, it was too close to the initial release, do only the people who missed him the first time bought him, and Hasbro's overcompensating on the second run left them with a ton of extras. They've since learned to space out their rereleases, but seem to still attribute the error they made as a sign of disinterest - a shame, because I can guarantee Cryotek would sell even among people who don't know the character due to it being the better color scheme.>they killed core classUnderstandable; that's why you sell him in a 2-pack with Fractyl, like how his toy was originally released. I mean, it's not like they threw out that relatively newish mold when they stopped with Cores entirely, right? RIGHT?>there was a big pushback against terrorsaur being so undersizedAnd yet they had no issue making his Toy Colors version, and then going on to use that version of the mold for Takara's Rathalos Prime - TWICE. At this point, why not give fans the color they've been asking for?>No excuses for the lack of a SunstormI'm really curious about this guy the most. They've had two (now three, excluding the Core version, which would have made four) molds to choose from, and people have been demanding him to complete their Seeker teams since Siege. Is there some kind of licensing issue involved with him or something? Because there really is no logical explanation for why they seem to be actively avoiding him.
>>11657678Especially since, at one time, they did have a hot nut for him. Masterpiece, Animated, Universe, and Cybertron all got Sunstorms. Then they just stopped.
>>11657582The funniest one to me isn't even the big Season 1 mains of Latta's all getting iced or put on a bus... it's that he was the voice of Defensor and because of that the big lug gets like, two whole lines in Season 3. No wonder everyone just goes for Bruticus all the time.
>>11657678Anonit's ALWAYS their own fault. They thought it was a good idea to retool airazor into the voyager-sized Terrorsaur, and not even retool the transformation to reverse the head and tail or put the feet on the arms. then they thought it was an even better idea to only release him as a limited thing (or for that matter, to HAVE limited things at all)>2-packey that's not a bad idea actually. I didn't know his original toy was like that.>that version of the moldeh, is it? He has terrorsaur-specific parts?>Takara'swell see that's the thing, they make CORRECT choices. though this wasn't one of them.
>>11657582ah, so THAT'S whom this was about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoiANALpqTAI knew the creepy guy in the easter egg, who voices Blue Laser Commander, was a Latta expy, but I guess this time Crack Stuntman is
>>11657706>eh, is it? He has terrorsaur-specific parts? The Airazor version of the mold has the beast mode head fold forward to make the chest, and leaves the robot head hanging out in Beast Mode. The Terrorsaur version has the head attach to the back piece and has a separate piece for the chest that completely hides the robot head in Beast Mode. Both Rathalos Primes have heads attached to the back piece and a separate, opening chest that hides the robot head, so while both the back and front halves have been retooled, he's using the Terrorsaur version's transformation scheme instead of the Airazor version's.
>>11657741got it, I see what you mean now.
>>11657706Even worse is that they keep reusing that transformation, even though it sucks.
>>11657763ehit sucks for terrorsaur because it would have been SO easy to simply swap the head and tail, which would even have allowed them to keep the tail as the chestplate. that's literally less work for them.just swivel the knees around and let the feet point the other way, done. you don't even have to put the ptero feet on the arms like you should, because the way it's tooled now, that would look funny and bowlegged. It's a fine mold for airazor even though the falcon head should have been bigger in both modes
>>11657706>I didn't know his original toy was like that.Yep - they came in a 2-pack. Both of their bio cards were printed on the back, and they were advertised as having "Energeon Armor" (hence the glitter).
>>11657794boy that is some inefficient packaging but ... cool.. That's a stupid gimmick but I don't even care. actually it kinda helps explain Packrat's otherwise odd color choice. Yeah I'm here for that.I wish they focused more on characters' roles.. these days the boxes give you nothing. of course we also aren't getting new and original characters very often.
>>11657795oh I see, a comic inside. that's why it has to be so big. i rescind my criticism.did not know those guys were 'con exclusive either, that explains a lot
>>11657794>>11657795>>11657797Here's the back side, so you can see their bios and stats. But yeah, even though they cancelled Core Class, if they still had the Rattrap mold, there's really no reason why they couldn't sell a new Packrat bundled with Fractyl, the way they did with the Narutoformers.
>>11657706Bold of you to assume Hasbro thought past "whatever" the whoe reason he was a limited release was they never cared about you or what you wanted. Look at how much effort goes into G1, Movie and the 13 Primes offerings. Now compare that to their Armada, Beast Wars, and really, anything else. Hell anything that's an exclusive now is dubious for it's quality and it be better to just assume it's a bone throwing and nothing more.

>>11657201Im still annoyed we haven't gotten Armada Skywarp or Ramjet. Ramjet especially since i want to group him either Razorclae and Antagony to form a Unicron servants trio.
>>11658375Just to clarify because I have nothing but time:what you want is water-based polyurethane. You can buy it just on its own, and easily apply it using a cheap henna bottle kit. A single bottle will last you for life. There are floor polishes containing this, but they're harder to find now for cheap and without a bunch of weird scents and shit you don't want.it's fantastic at working its way into crevices (with some working) and will subtly thicken. and if you fuck up and just glue the thing because you forgot to wiggle the joints, it's water-based. so you can just wash it back out and start over.
>>11658390i wonder how hard the tigerhawk upgrade kit will be to get these days.. you'd have to paint-match it for razorclaw, but.. better than nothing.
>>11657763It is kind of baffling, especially since the mainline ROTB Airazor has imo the better bird transformation but that mold has never been reused.
>>11658397I mean, none of the RotB toys got recolors except Primal into Apelinq, and that was done as slipshoddily as it possibly could be. They wouldn't fit in anything but the movie continuity.also, that transformation is indeed better but it wouldn't work for anything but a mechanical one, where you'll accept the thick wings. also they kinda fucked her wrists.
>>11658153Try just pushing them in, that works for my copy.

Quintus is probably the weakest figure among the Primes yet. His transformation is really simple and he has no real gimmicks.

>>11660342Both of my Arcees showed up today, too. They both come with the same sticker sheet, but I thought I'd try arranging them differently to give them each a more individual look.Like all of the MLs I own so far, I love them - and for a toy based on pictures of an unproduced prototype, I think they came out great.
>>11660518Like the others, their transformation is fairly simple, but effective - and, more importantly, fun. They also feel pretty solid - no real hollowness to them, and the plastic quality is good, they have a decent amount of heft that's not present on most modern Transformers. Articulation is good (no wrists or waist swivel, but that was to be expected), and they surprisingly have weapon storage in both modes (their guns can tab into a little peg hole next to their spoiler fin). What's really incredible is how little of a backpack they have - something modern Arcee designs tend to struggle with.Of the two, I think my favorite one is the Prototype Colors version - she's brighter and feels more unique to me, though I like Cartoon Colors version's gun better. I'm going to use them as two different characters, though I haven't decided what I want to call Proto Arcee yet.
>>11660518not bad. though am I wrong or... toys back then didn't tend to have such obvious hollow spots
>>11660521>I haven't decided what I want to call Proto Arcee yet.she looks like a "Starbarella" to me.
>>11660521Here's all the MLs I have so far - I skipped Bee and Cliffjumper, at least for now. I'm really loving this line - the toys are a lot more simplistic, but they seem to do a better job of being fun to play with than modern Transformers. Also, I'm dying for them to start making some Decepticons - I really, really want a ML Starscream, at the very least.

New>>11660530>>11660530
>>11660522>though am I wrong or... toys back then didn't tend to have such obvious hollow spotsPretty much. From what I remember, most toys were pretty solid - plastic was cheaper then, and toy companies designed their stuff with the fact that kids would be playing rough with them in mind, so they were built to last. Modern toy companies, on the other hand, cut corners pretty much wherever they can get away with it - cheaper quality plastic as the cost of oil has risen over the years, more hollowed out areas (again, so they can use less plastic), and so on. While we've advanced in terms of engineering and making things look more proportional/realistic, the penny-pinching ultimately results in an inferior and less durable product that wouldn't survive in the hands of an 80's or 90's era child; fortunately, most modern kids prefer gaming to playing with actual toys, so they can get away with it.
