>What's New?-Hammond Collection Mussasaurus, Sinoceratops, and Ornitholestes have reached store shelves, but for some reason, Dryosaurus is still MIA-Blokees Indominus and Mosasaurus shown off-Creative Beast Studios has shipped the Mammoths from their Beasts of the Cenozoic line and shown off the new Kelenken at Legions con. -Nanmu Tyrannosaurs should be shipping out this month, with the Spinosaurus shipping in late Q1 2026.
>>11647455Can I fit an onahole inside it? Asking for a friend.
Great Hammond Collection wave. Ornitholestes might be their best small theropod. Sinoceratops is definitely too small, but the swapable parts is great new add.
>>11648253Swappable mouths instead of opening mouths is absolute trash. The fact that they can do perfect opening mouths on their cheap shit figures but fucked up the opening mouths on like at least half of all Hammond collection dinosaurs is one of the biggest what the fucking retard fuck things I've ever seen. This is a step backwards, not forwards. Kill yourself for supporting such a dumb fucking feature. Not being able to figure out the eyes for the line for years was also retarded. Glass eyes is a great idea and they manage just fine on their fucking toddler line but somehow managed to fuck up 80% of the line there too. The whole thing is a monkeys paw of embarrassment.
>>11648600I was mostly talking about the horn, but you sound like a super balanced person
>>11648718Yeah the horn is cool. The mouth is retarded and ruins an otherwise perfect figure.
>>11648718I think it's funny that it scales better with the nanmu carno than the HC one
>>11648826I think the main issue with the jaw swap is the position of the peg hole which makes it annoying to remove. But I still think it's better than not having an open jaw at all which is what happened with the Stego and Trike. Also the swappable hands are nice in the other figures. I wish the raptors has swappable hands like Ornitholestes same goes for the Cory and the Para. I would have bought a couple more of each if I could properly have them posed like Mussasaurus.>>11648935Yeah, the size was a major letdown after they gave us the big stego. The HC Sino is closer to Nanmu's 1/35 scale than the HC 1/18.
>>11648982baby mammoth spotted
>>11649045The calf is a cute little guy. Kind of didnt expect it to be as small as it is.
>>11649100Did anyone figure out what the best mammoth herder figure is? i was looking into the mythic legions ice troll but that one may be too big
>>11649112I decided to go with the Mythic Legions Frost troll. I asked the guys in the Mythic Legions general >>11641696 they said the ogre scale figures are 9-inches tall, so that makes it the same height as the mammoth, which is a little bigger than I'd like, but at the same time, it's closer than the standard figures which at around 6.5 inches are a bit too short for the Mammoth.
>>11649100I got the non-snowy adult and calf along with the 1/35th adult. Thinking of making smaller tusks for the 1/35 to make it into an older juvenile. Might splurge and buy one more adult and give it the male tusks.>>11649112>>11649130Marvel Legends BAF Sasquatch would work aesthetically. Give him a furred loincloth and a pole or shepherd’s hook and you got a mammoth herder Bigfoot.
>>11649157>I got the non-snowy adult and calf along with the 1/35th adult. Thinking of making smaller tusks for the 1/35 to make it into an older juvenile. Might splurge and buy one more adult and give it the male tusks.I didn't get the 1/35, but I'm also thinking of grabbing another 1/18 to be a Bull and a 1/35 to act as an older juvenile.Speaking of Bigfoot. The Hiya Kong works pretty well because of his longer arms. Alternatively, if you pose him on all fours he's an alright Gigantopithicus substitute.
>>11649188>Gigantopithicus substituteThat reminds me I gotta get around to adding orangutan cheeks to my Playmates Skull Iskand Kong and give him a ginger paint job on his fur..
>>11649197I'm good with just apeing the Prehistoric Planet Giganto since it was darker colored and lacked cheek pads. The Orangs' red hair makes less sense when you're a giant ground-dwelling ape living more like a gorilla than the more arboreal lifestyle of Orangs
>>11649234Are you kaijunomachi on Instagram?
>>11649188Damn i never thought of using Kong as a Gigantopithecus. That is actually really cool
>>11649262You could also kitbash the bootlegs of Neca Luca and Maurice together, they go for much cheaper than the legit ones and are basically the same quality barring a some paint jobs in general.
>>11649251We're all anonymous here. But also, that account is so small, it's kinda wild seeing someone recognize my blank white wall and scratched up wooden table.>>11649262I'm debating painting his metal tooth white so that it looks more natural when I pose him with the roaring head.
What was the performance of the micro play sets?
>>11649279Let me go check the numbers from the file here at official mattel headquarters
I'm sorry if I'm wrong here but are there any cool shark toys? Some articulation would be cool which neither schleich, Safari ltd nor papo offer.
>>11649404thank you mister men inside
>>11649644Definitely Mattel's best Comic Con set.>>11649686I think the Neca Jaws the Game shark figure is basically the only real option and it only has an articulated jaw. It is supposed to be 1/12 scale, but it's actually 1/18
>>11649738I love the use of the 1/12 Smilodon as a fictional selectively bred war cat in Cyberzoic. I bet that thing would weigh over a ton
>>11649798I love the idea too, but the paleonerd in me is shouting, "Homotherium would have been a better choice because it was the only truely cursorial cat while Smilodon was a giant grappler and ambush predator... also it would have made more sense to be with the Mammoth since they both lived on the Mammoth Steppe while Smilodon was a forest animal."But sometimes you just have to ignore the science and just go with what's cool.
>>11649686There's this. It even swims in water!
>>11649686I used to have a cool great white toy as a kid. The entire body was hard plastic, but it had a button on the back to make it bite, and the gums were a separate part that came out from under the lip, which made it bite like how great whites do.That would've been like two decades ago, though.
>>11650776Wait seriously something like that existed cause I would have loved something like this. I had the Chapmei GW but not something as realistic as that.
>>11649736Lol
>>11650871Yeah the gums coming down were cool enough and the spring was so strong that just making it bite was entertaining. I also used to get my thumb under the lip and manually pull the gums down to make it snarl, even though I knew they didn't do that.Took me a bit to find, but mine was an older model of Safari Ltd. Jaw Snapping Great White Shark. The newer ones have this awful segmentation in the neck, whereas my old one didn't.https://www.safariltd.com/products/jaw-snappers-jaw-snapping-great-white-shark-352240?variant=5223790673957
>>11650871>>11650921This is an older model like I had, although mine was glossier and *slightly* darker blue in color.
Are these the best dino toys to ever hit shelves? Maybe
>>11649880nta but I've seen reviews of this. It's a pretty cool shark figure. Would look great with a model orca.
>>11651078The sino's jaw aside, this has been a great wave. It's nice to have another Morrision Formation dinosaur
thinking about grabbing a reindeer to use as a substitute for megaloceros
>>11651078>>11651969My favorite of the wave is the Dryosaurus. Always loved that little dude
I fucking love dinosaurs
They'll make a prosauropod for the toyline but they won't be assed with even doing Plateosaurus or Mussaurus (a novel dino) for JW Evolution when it's been heavily requested for years
>>11652009You gonna 3D print or hand-sculpt the antlers? Not Dino-related, but I got the zombie reindeer as a Notdeer.
>>11652580proof it!
>>11652879Why would they give us a prosauropod when they could give us a dinosaur like Hypsilophodon, which isnt even a wetland animal and does nothing unique or interesting.
Dire Wolf on the way. 1/12 scale first, like Smilodon and Kelenken, for the Cyberzoic line, and then 1/18 for the Cenozoic line. I'll probably be double-dipping like I am with Smilodon. >>116530643D print. them probably. I'm shit at hand sculpting.
I finally put the armor on my Smilodon yesterday
>>11654969And here he is with his effect parts
>>11654970>>11654969The aesthetic and inclusion of laser effects still works very well and is visually striking.Fuck Mattel for keeping Dinoriders from returning to walk the earth.
>>11654969>>11654970>>11654973I hope one day he does all the species that were in dinoriders
>>11654981We'll probably get most of them. The only ones I don't see us ever getting in 1/18 scale are Diplodocus and Brontosaurus because they are too big, and Monoclonius because it isn't real.>DR Species with figures and armor:DeinonychusSmilodon>DR Species we've already got figures of, but not armor:TyrannosaurusTorosaurusTriceratopsStyracosaurusProtoceratopsPachyrhinosaurusChasmosaurusWoolly mammoth>DR Species that have figures in progress but no armor yet:Killer Wart Hog a.k.a Andrewsarchus, since David is doing an inaccurate reconstruction of Andrewsarchus and just having it be a large enteledontPachycephalosaurusStegosaurusKentrosaurus>DR Species with no figures:MegatheriumQuetzalcoatlusStruthiomimusDimetrodonPlaceriasEdmontoniaSaurolophusPterodactylusAnkylosaurus>BotC species with armor that never appeared in the DR lineAllosaurusAchillobatorDryptosaurusDilophosaurusUtahraptorCarnotaurusYutyrannus
>>11655076Forgot to include Kelenken
>>11655076>and Monoclonius because it isn't realYou say that but they already released one. Tho i'm not sure if they plan on giving it armor and a rider
>>11655250>Tho i'm not sure if they plan on giving it armor and a riderThey can't re-release that paint scheme but there's nothing stopping David from making armor for it. I'm praying he gets around to arming my Dino Rider t-rex.
>>11654973I didn't get the armor for my Allosaurus or my Achillobator, but after having my armored Smilodon, I'm very tempted to grab their armors as well. While I probably would have preferred some kind of prehistoric-looking bone and leather armor, the futuristic stuff has grown on me.
>>11655330Be careful, From all the reviews i have seen, the Allosaurus armor breaks easily. Also my favorite armor style is the one that turns into its own little robot animal figure
>>11655076>>11654969>>11654973>>11654981I just want small species with armor, and more small species in general. Most of the large figures kitted out are $200, that's unsustainable and certainly not anything I plan to get more than a couple of. If he can make a figure "handler" with an oviraptor with armor for $50 though, that I'd be all over for multiples. The closest we've got so far is the desert clan guys and that's literally the only one that small.
Rubbersaurs? On MY /toy/? It's more likely than you think!
>>11655761Impossible
>>11655625Yeah, I saw that big post on facebook about how to prevent the Allosaurus armor breaks. It did look super tedious, so I might just skip it and buy a set of Dryptosaurus armor. The head will probably have some issues fitting the Allo, though. >>11655636All they've got for the small guys so far is Deinonychus, though I assume that the Cyberzoic dire wolf will also have armor. I think the Pachy also is confirmed to be getting armor for the cyberzoic variant, and it's pretty small.>>11655761I wanted to get his Compies, but they sold out too quickly.
>>11652009I recently got one of these reindeerPretty neat figure and the antlers are removable. Itd be easy enough to do custom ones
>>11656987is that 3d printed? Also nice Tarbo. I went with the Daspletosaurus, but Tarbo would have been my second choice.
>>11656987GROUNDWALKERS
I love this dude like you wouldn't believe
used to smash things with the big ammonites shell for lore reasons
>>11659764What was the lore?
>>11659981his spiky shell could shatter worlds
Anyone else pre order the Nanmu Tyrannosaurs or the Spinos? I got the two Rexes and the JP3 Spino. Wonder what Dino they're going to do next?
>>11663399I pre-ordered Doe because Buck was out of stock. Gonna be my first figure in the line. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Dominion/Big Rock Allo next.
