can't wait for more Sakamoto kino
what the fuck even is the MP line anymore
>>11666916crazy how we have 4 MP Optimus Primes and yet still no core characters like Jazz, Cliffjumper, Galvatron, Blaster and the rest of the season 1 BW cast.
>>11666916The japs are still struggling to figure it out. Maybe they just want to make fun toys but all the MPGs have been hand grenades so far.
>>11666916Now? Whatever the fuck the designers want it to be>>11666921Ginrai has issues, but only majorbtwo breakage problems, with the only major one being the ginrai skirt breaking, but moding that is easy, while the springs are easy to fix.
We heard you were talking shit about Universe, that don't fly around these here parts
>>11666919It's not that crazy, Optimus just plain sells every time. Porsche infamously has licensing issues that only got sorted for ROTB. Other characters have had issues not selling as well as they could. Honestly for a JP line, the MP line is a massive outlier. Very rarely do you see B-list characters or lower done in pricy, large scales like it. It's bizarre to me that we have a Tigatron toy that costs over $150, because how many people really care about Tigatron, especially in Japan? The whole idea of MP being a line to cover a bunch of minor characters was a pipe dream that was only reasonable when the MP cars only cost about $50-60(in Japanese prices, they were more if you bought through US importers).
>>11666960>it ONLY has two major breakage issues that are fixed in the reissue broAs I said they are all hand grenades. Handle with care despite the toy designers intention of them being fun to play around with and transform. The train bros also had issues though they were made more as scale model trains that transform and combine than as fun toys so I can slightly forgive it. We'll see how good MPG-17 is, its just MP-10 again and that was a solid toy so maybe the new version will be fun too.
>>11666999>>11666921Hamhands detected
When Takara is reissuing the toy with fixes you kind of lose your hamhands argument bro. Keep defending the multimillion dollar company tho.
>>11666999Anon, regular ass transformers have had worse issues, the issues on Ginrai are easy as fuck to fix and while those issues shouldn't be there, you'd be careless to buy any figure without checking for issues. I do think buying mp's on release is a mistake, but calling saying they're handgrenades is a bit much.
>>11667008Fag's been asshurt ever since MP44 existed and he's only gotten worse about it.
Need help identifying a toy from my childhood. This would've been sometime in the mid-late 2000s, definitely not a Bayverse design. It was a police car or armored vehicle, pretty sure it had some kinda SWAT theming. The robot mode used the roof as a shield and maybe a roof gun as the other, though I'm less sure of that. It's not Barricade, I don't think. I just picked a toy with a similar theme and color scheme.
>afraid to reply directly>doesn't want to list examples, just hide behind buzzwordsI accept your concession, Faggotron
>>11667012Probably Universe Onslaught or one of his redecos, Hardhead and Clench.
>>11667032Holy shit, yep, that's it. Didn't even cross my mind to look at Onslaught figures, I thought ht was always army themed. Thanks a bunch!Do you or anyone else know if he's worth getting?
>>11667008>regular ass transformers have had worse issuesOkay? That doesn't forgive Ginrai for shipping with such simple issues that plagued enough people for a reissue with fixes to come out. If the term hand grenade is too powerful a term for you then...hmm...maybe an eggshell of a toy?
>>11667032Huh.. I just realized, the recent-ish lunar cruiser Optimus prime looks similar to this guy, at least on the surface.
>>11667044The worst you could call it is delicate, and yes, handgrenade is a strong term in general, that implies the item breaks easily in many areas to the point you couldn't touch it without damaging it (MP Hound, or MP Optimus 3). The only parts that break easily on Ginrai are the smokestack tabs, and while that does suck, you don't even need those to transform it properly.
>>11667064Nothing was wrong with MP Optimus 3 though. Shame about Hound though, he's my favorite character and he literally breaks by existing.
>>11667091>Nothing was wrong with MP Optimus 3 though. It had a weird mechanism on the knees that locked the joint and broke on many copies, such that they removed it in subsequent redecos.
So what can we expect from NuLegends? Some of my wants off the top of my head>AotP Big Convoy with better deco and maybe some remolding like bigger tonfas>Legacy Vector Prime with retooled shins>Delta Magnus from SS86 Magnus>Nemesis Prime from SS86 Prime (if Hasbro won't bother)>Side Burn with some retooling for a better car mode>More diaclones like Loudpedal and Reboost.
>>11667104It also had an issue with painted parts making hinges too thick, which would cause breakage on the legs, and the paint issues were wild.
>>11667124somehow, titan masters will return.I hope that they reissue the micromaster 10 pack to use as mini-cons for the new armada toys.
>>11667104Oh right, like how Reveal the Shield Jazz would break if you transformed the legs/feet wrong.
>>11667124My guesses are>Copy Convoy using new Lio mold>Bound Rogue from Tasmania Kid>Vorpal Saber 3-pack>Runiation/Baldigas from Bruticus >Diver from Gamakichi (long shot, I know)
Grabbed Legacy Devcon and Collab Jiggawatt recently. For the most part, I think they're pretty neat. Might want to track down KITT one of these days.
>>11667154For size comparison, here's the Doc with Nendoroid Nice Nature. Might be a little off, since I'm using the track platform and I don't feel like digging her packaging out to attach her regular legs.
>>11667141It does? I never noticed.
>>11667157And because everyone likes alt modes, here's Jiggawatt as the DeLorean DMC-12 with a bunch of crap attached to it. Compare and contrast with Nice Nature's alt mode.I actually like the texture of the DMC-12 parts. Shame that the hood/chestpiece sits so far up that it blocks the face in most angles. The unpainted flux capacitors on the knees are also a neat little detail.
>>11667164About the one thing I didn't like was that the wheels were very finicky when getting the car to transform to hovercar mode. Maybe I'm hamhanding things too much, but the front wheels like to pop out a lot more often. I do like that the Mr. Fusion can double as the gun's sight, though. As I said, I think it's pretty neat. Makes me want to try and chase down the KITT toy.
>>11667167I noticed that on my copy, too. They should have put the slot the wheel pin goes in on the other side to prevent that, but oh well
>>11667032Compared to modern toys, this era will mostly fall shortBut they were quite good at the time.
>>11667177Speak for yourself, I love Universe toys. They're bulky enough to build a house out of and I love the designs
>>11667038I dug mine out from my folks house and brought it back with me after xmas, He's a Chonky boy, but is a blast to play with and holds up very well for being 20years old. Would recommend if you enjoy the simplicity of SS86 Grimlock
>>11667154Careful with Gigawatt - his Flux Capacitor can break if you try to flip it in the wrong direction.
>>11667180Universe was something for sure. For every Onslaught you'd get an Ironhide. The line either went full tilt awesome or the shittiest Transformer you could imagine with no in between.
>>11667219and then you'll be trapped in 1955
>>11667218>He's a Chonky boy, but is a blast to play with and holds up very well for being 20years old. That's my experience with absolutely everything from the UT/Universe lines. They're not hitting any insane poses anytime soon but you could also drop them from a skyscraper and it'd come out fine. Just a shame they're so hard to get complete because of the thousands of gimmicks and accessories.
>>11667167The Mr Fusion on mine never wants to stick to anything, it's kind of annoying. I think the grey plastic points it's supposed to slot onto are too soft and don't bite.
>>11667164I'd like to see them retool Jiggawatt into Swindler as an unmodified Delorean since the actual Swindler update we got wasn't a Delorean at all since the car mode doubled as Blackjack..
Are there any plans for other Hasbro G1 stuff like picrel? Just got him and love it.
>>11667218I feel like I really lucked out on getting a boxed Onslaught for like 30 maple leafs a few years ago
>>11667239There’s the redeco G1 Magnus in the Target 4 pack, but that’s it. I talked about before that I hope they use it for a new Pepsi Convoy and if HasTak ever brings back Core they should do some Retro Mini-Bots to go with him
>>11666774What a terrible OP. I'm only moving because the last thread has hit image limit.>What the fuck?!>"Masterpiece Movie," the top brand for Transformers films, is relaunching as "Masterpiece Movie Next"!><Pre-orders start on Wednesday, January 14, 2026!>>■ Masterpiece Movie Next MPMN-01 Sideswipe>■ Masterpiece Movie Next MPMN-02 Sideswipe G1 Red
>>11667257Here's Missing Link Grimlock
>>11667258and MPG Rodimus
>>11667259>From the anime "Beast Wars Ⅱ " comes the long-awaited figure of the legendary green lion, Leo Convoy!>The body is made of a luminous material, allowing you to recreate the green glow seen in the anime!
>>11667263NICE
>>11667259Wow, a full size mini-Masterpiece!
>>11667263Wow, I’m shocked they did the green deco before Burning Lio. I bet that one anon hyping up the old one is super excited now
>>11667263Can anyone tell if this is the legacy Lio Convo or the Takara special 40th retool of him?
>>11667274It’s definitely the 40th retool, the face is completely different compared to Legacy's
>>11667257The G1 red version should have color separation to look better. At least make the face silver.
>>11667272You meant Flash Lio Convoy.
>>11667263I'm hearing tell that he glows in the dark
>>11667281Yeah. Why do they have different names, they’re the exact same transformation.
>>11667283It's a power up form for Lio Convoy
>>11667284I meant why do Burning Convoy and Flash Lio Convoy have different names for their transformations? I know it’s a marketing thing, it just seems weird when you think about it
>>11667286You're talking about the land that invented Super Saiyan and you find special forms having unique names weire?
>>11667259Wait this is a new mold
>>11667283>they’re the exact same transformation.Same transformation - but for two different characters. The names are based on their colorations; Burning Convoy is when Optimus Primal turns a fiery red and gold, while Flash Lio Convoy is when Lio turns a vivid, glowing yellow and white.
>>11667259I seriously do wonder how much the engineering it's going to match the 86.
>>11666807Does anyone have that screenshot of DJW telling prudes to shut the fuck up?
>>11667263WHY DID IT TAKE THIS LONG TO GET A GLOW IN THE DARK TRANSFORMER?! This can't be the first right?! Day 1 buy I wanted Leo Convoy but never got around to buying one and I fucking love glow in the dark toys
>>11667263When did this happen in the anime? I've only ever seen a few episodes
>>11667286It's not fucking weird at all what the fuck are you talking about? Burning Convoy is called Burning Convoy because he is a Convoy in burning fire colors and fire pattern decals and Flash Lio Convoy is called Flash Lio Convoy because he is in shining 'flashing' colors with sparkles. It hurt me to type this.
>>11667259>Style GenSo like MPG-17 this guy is going to come with some sort of a grab bag of accessories and some patch-work stylings? At any rate I think we can all agree if he doesn't have a fishing rod then the whole thing is a wash
>>11667307The finale.
>>11667307The final battle. It's Lio and his 'son' merged together.
>>11667305I can’t find it. I think DJW deleted it off his Twitter. >>11667309Jesus, anon, it’s not that serious>>11667314>>11667315It’s also his appearance through the majority of BWNeo
>>11667228can you put some nail polish on it?
>>11667310The old MP Hot Rod had a fishing rod, so I don't think you'll have anything to worry about for this
Does anyone know of blast effects similar to these (I am 99% sure these are Siege Jetfire's) but in a pink/purple more like Armada Starscream's? Preferably some that don't nuke the plastic if possible but I don't know how much of that is just fearmongering.
>>11667263So is this "New Legends" thing not Legends scale or is the 40th Leo Prime already Legends scale? I'm lost.
>>11667368Legends is also the name of Takara's side series of figures (somewhat like Gen Selects). They are bringing it back in a new series. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Legends_(franchise)
>>11667356
>>11667378Now to find a place to sell me those standalone. Thanks anon! Do you know if these are the kind you can leave in or should I just sorta be wary of all of them?
Why are there 2 transformer threads? Which one is the real one?
>>11667320No it's not serious but that guy or you are fucking retarded.
>>11667378>>11667381The two packs are the SS86 "Dying" versions and the Ironhide/Prowl is absurdly discounted most places and usually easy to find the full set $20 or so
Posted a thread ago or two about it, but I think the issue with my 86 blaster (re-issue) is his shoulder joint. It seems to force the body apart and is likely the reason a screw blew out (and stripped/cracked/broke its hole in the process as it wont screw in again) Whenever I move it, it feels uneven and pushes the casing apart. Is there a way to fix this at all? The left shoulder seems fine, not perfect but not forcing things apart
>>11667388This one is. The other one was made while the last thread was still active. >>11667389My vote is that guy. All I did was mix up Burning and Flash and then wonder why they are named differently
>>11667263This couldn't be more fitting. The first release of the New Legends line being LEGENDARY Green Lio Convoy.
>>11667259Style Gen continues to be the most retarded Masterpiece figures of all time
>>11667259Mite b cool. Not a big fan of the colors, though. Why can't we get Hot Rod's actual colors?
>>11667541I'm not really onboard with Style Gen designs, what they promote is implementing every iterations of the character into the design. But the final product really is just G1 Optimus with accessories from other Optimus.Would be much cooler if they fully embrace the stylize design like giving a busy mechanical details for the robot design.
>>11667306It's not the first toy to do it, but it's super mega rare, you can count on 1 hand the amount of toys that did Glow in the Dark>>11667305I got you>>11667543He's red for an amazing reason
>>11667544This is Style Gen
>>11667259He looks pretty good, I like the subtle panel lining.>>11667543He does seem to fluctuate a lot in the movie between a reddish magenta and borderline hot-pink. Personally I like this better.
>>11667551Based.
>>11667306>This can't be the first right?!Nope, the first ones were Natron and Freezon from the Electric Racing set way back in '85.I think there were a few others, but I can confirm with certainty that the Botcon CatSCAN has glow-in-the-dark cybernetic markings on him, too.
I get it’s to show off all the accessories, but this looks a bit ridiculous
>>11667657Him digivolving into something that has more storage space makes more sense now though
>>11667541I don't really see the issue. They skew more conservative than I would like, but the Optimus looks like it might be a worthy MP-10 replacement/substitute even if it isn't groundbreaking. Hot Rod looks like an upscaled Studio Series, but I don't see the issue with that either beyond the colors looking more like what Hasbro would choose.
>>11667032i still will keep Universe Onslaught even with newer combinable onslaughts cause its just that damn good of a toy. I wish they had done a Roadbuster from this mold.
>>11667657He looks like he's going on a camping trip.
>>11667657Holiday Roaaaaaaaaad
Anyone else have a strange appreciation for SS86 Kup? I believe he still has the best, most uncompromised alt-mode of any SS86 figure
Until they redeco Kingdom Cyclonus for SS86
Shit, just managed to nab Hot Rod on the Target site. Tried to find something to hit the 35 dollar minimum for zero shipping (it's bullshit that they don't give it to you with him just because he's one penny shy at $34.99), but I was worried he'd sell out in the time it would take me to settle on anything and just confirmed the order. Turns out I was right, hope they open up another round of preorders at some point for anons who missed him.
>>11667732Sadly it's ruined be robo skeletor face
>>11667740Still better than the Sgt Kup face which was so bad people actually bought bootleg replacement heads
>>11667740Yeah, unfortunately from around 2020 to mid-2025 you couldn't find an unmasked Transformer with a decent face sculpt. The new batch of AOTP/SS86 figures seem to have lifted the curse though.
>>11667736Hasbro Pulse listing goes up in about 10 minutes if you're a member there
>>11667732I liked him enough to get the achai head for him.
>>11667657No wonder the matrix upgraded him into a winnebago
>>11667551based djw owning the libs
>>11667755>sold outIt seems like premium members picked it clean when it went up at around 9am EST. Godspeed to any anons that are after Starscream from this same exclusive line.
>>11667551Rest in peace you legend.Mystery Inc from Jada and good Animated redos never
>>11667632There's so much shit I never knew existed just from the 80s alone.
>>11667776They're making good Animated redos in Legacy right now
>>11667780He said good. Look how Maher fucked Wreck Gar so his OC could have a whole new mold.
>>11667782They are good.
>>11667632Isn't one of those the first girl transformer?
>>11667824No it's those fucking faggots from the tfwiki and alspark almanac retconning bitches>Freezon was not named on any of the Electric Racing Set's packaging or paperwork, apparently having been solely referred to by that name on the set's television commercial. This spelling of her name was TFWiki's best guess and was later made official in the pages of The AllSpark Almanac, which also first identified her as a female TransformerHeadcanon ass motherfuckers
>>11667784>>11667780What animated redos were good?
>>11667091>Nothing was wrong with MP Optimus 3 thoughlmao.
>>11667856Bumblebee, Wasp, Optimus, Prowl.
>>11667837Wasp is really good which means Bumblebee is probably good too, and Optimus and Prowl both aren't bad imo but I get why people like them lessWreck-Gar pisses me off but Ratchet looks good so far
>>11667298It's just a remold of Kingdom Rodimus with more Hot Rod-style parts
>>11667001I’m going to make a basedjak of you
>>11667836I don’t mind, it’s not that much different from all the retcon stuff Sakamoto and Ichikawa also did, heck, Ichikawa worked on Ask Vector Prime to make sure details were correct
>>11667001
>>11667888>>11667837Optimus mold had weird qc problems. Weirdly Nemesis was fixed. But Prowl, Bee, Wasp were good.
>>11667912>Optimus mold had weird qc problemsLike what? I have it and haven't noticed anything.
Please be good.
>>11667919I think some people's copies had problems with the truck mode clipping together, but I have both Optimus and Motor Master and both are fine
>>11667919One of the wheels is missing on mine. I think it popped off while it was in the cart when I was in the store.
>>11667919Some copies arms liked to fall off and my copy can't rotate in torso otherwise it will do Darth Maul cosplay.
>>11667921Earthrise Prime? He's ok.
>>11667921Mp-10 has been out for a while now anon...
>>11667306>>11667632Also, didn't Hasbro just release a glow-in-the-dark Earthspark Megatron toy this past year? I saw it at Target a bunch of times, and the packaging sure made it sound like it glows.
>>11667940>the packaging sure made it sound like it glowsConsidering Earthspark Megatron is an FBI asset, well...
>>11667939MPG-17 has a significantly better truck mode I think, but if it's as solid as MP-10 I'll be happy.
>>11667836I've really come to hate those guys. They know Hasbro pretty much just uses them as their goto reference guide so they push out their dumbass takes on everything and make it law.
>>11667957The TFWiki isn’t the ones retconning stuff, that was Fun Publications, who got the license from Hasbro to write lore in things like Ask Vector Prime and the Allspark Almanac. It’s not any different than e-Hobby creating bios and comics under their license from Takara
>>11667947>MPG-17 has a significantly better truck modeNice foot fetish bro
>>11667973I think you're reaching a little.
>Wake up at 4 since after a long work night.>Turns out the Hot Rod with all the extra stuff went up and is already sold out.I think I'll have to stop buying transformers for a while, buying them is stressing me out.
>>11667753Well, that's a bunch of bullshit isn't it?.
>>11667919>>11667931Prime had notoriously loose knees. Motormaster had better joint tolerance than Prime and Nemesis has practically perfect joints. At least my copy does.Has there been another example of a mold getting better QC with each subsequent reuse?
>>11668019'Bullshit' because the claim is bogus, or 'bullshit' because you're outraged about it?
>>11668011I missed it too. You would think they know its a highly sought after toy and make a lot of them. Oh well, money saved.
>>11668029Target exclusives tend to shelfwarm nowadays; he'll be easy to find near release
>>11667300Is this like super sonic and super shadow?
I saw animated Motormaster at Ross for $20 at Ross yesterday, but I skipped him.
>>11668061That's great anon.
>>11668039>Gone in seconds online>Even Pulse gone tooYea no. The only target exclusives that shelfwarmed were the Sideswipe and Wheeljack nobody wanted
>>11668027Bogus claim. Plenty of good unmasked head sculpts in that timeframe.
>>11668073>WfC Megatron>WfC Optimus>Target 4 pack>SS OverloadSome of the latest releases are/did shelfwarm. The only ones I can think of that didn't was the devastation two pack and perceptor. Even then those two were easy to find in the first two weeks of release.
>>11667921I think what’s going to make or break this Prime is how good the Megatron that goes with it is
>>11668086Overload has to be the oddest reissue ever. Who would even want that with no possibility of getting the rest of the team?
>>11667967I hate them too.but the wiki loves them because they insist that the scribbles on the margins of the Allspark Almanac count as canon even though they're for other continuities and Hasbro, mostly likely had no clue they were even there.
Man I was like "Yeaa Animated Ratchet" and after really looking at it and seeing better pics Its so obvious it's fucking Earthrise Trailbreaker moldAnimated bros taking ANOTHER LInsulting reallyhttps://x.com/autobase_aichi/status/2002757602628047312
>>11667678Can't wait for Style Gen Starscream, which would be an upscaling of the Earthrise seeker mold.
>>11668103Trailbreaker is a good mold and it looks spot on to Ratchet though.
>>11668103Honestly, they’ve retooled so much of it that it feels pretty new, so I don’t mind. It’s not like Wreck-Gar, where they basically just slapped a new head on an already existing body
>>11667657DO YOU NEED YA NEED A BREAK FROM RELAXATION?!DO YA NEED TO REST YOUR WEARY WOES?
I really hope someone does like a third party upgrade set so all of the Autobot Targetmasters can get their Masterforce or toy heads. Those rebirth heads for Pointblank and Sureshot, suck.
>>11668118I wonder if that will be something the new Legends series does?
>>11668120We already know they have an alt for Pointblank, but I'd rather have a redo than pay takara tax for an alt head. Crosshairs would also need a new mold since his old one was a basic bitch repaint. On Sureshot, there's hints that imply he could be used for Joyride or his repaint Ranger.
>>11667124Hasbro are doing another Vector Prime but he could just be a rerelease in a AotP box.
>>11667235How many Sideswipes do you want me to buy?
>>11667167The problem with KITT is that he's massive. Too big to display next to the other modern crossover Transformers.
>>11668148Nah, there's no scale with Crossovers so he's fine.
>>11667893Won't he be too big? He looks good though. Looks like his head still opens up to fold out the visor.
>>11667378It's a shame they don't include blast effects as often these days. Sell me blind boxes containing randomly selected blast effects and weapon repaints.
>>11667732I like him. I must get hold of the Orion Pax and Dion versions.
>>11667921Why does he have Bayverse swords and his Siege axe? They're cool accessories (especially with the clear blades) but strange choices.
>>11668159I'd have rather had an alternate headsculpt or something, but the swords are neat. Can't complain.
>>11667657The burden hardest to bear
>>11667909>I don’t mind, it’s not that much different from all the retcon stuff Sakamoto and Ichikawa also did, heck, Ichikawa worked on Ask Vector Prime to make sure details were correctOnce they started trooning characters out I completely disregarded it. >Archadis is one of three Beast Wars Neo toys whose designs were determined via a contest held by Japanese Television Magazine. The winning designs were revealed in the April 1999 issue. The other winning designs became Mach Kick and Bazooka. The original design that became Archadis was female. This was referenced in an entry of the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime which described a trans male Archadis.
>>11667921The cannon gm like weapon placement for his gun is so cool. Is this the first optimus to do that?
I forgot to take off my name I used to make a shitpost it's over.
>>11668105SS86 more likely. I'd be alright with that.
>>11668180No.
>>11668178Oh no, they made a meta reference to the toy's development, the horror. As we know, Sakamoto would never do that
>>11668204He's a cute burb.
>>11667657Can I ask when did Hot Rod used a fishing rod? Besides Kiss Players, of course. If it's just Kiss Players, I would be pissed.
>>11668286Are you honestly fucking with us, anon? In the movie, literally the first scene he's in.
>>11668178Insane thing to choose to care about
>>11668151Yeah I have no idea, but you can tell it shares engineering with both Kingdom Rodimus and SS86 Hot Rod
>>11668286He had one when he was teaching Daniel how to do "The Perfect Cast". It was pivotal to the old '86 movie, c'mon.
>>11668298But it's not insane someone cared enough to retcon trannies/nonbinaries into random characters? Fuck you.

I'm going to refute that, Japanese comprehension from the fandom was in the gutter for so many years & coming from the same dumb minds that held Sideways as some multiversal wank because no one bothered to check the JP bio for his robotmasters toy in almost 2 decades....
>>11668358Optimus' thumb makes it look like he's giving the finger, which is funny to me.
>>11668367Welp, in order to settle it, we’ll either need to find a copy of TV Magazine's April 1999 issue or contact Hisashi Yuki directly (he’s listed as Archadis's designer, I really wish he hadn’t deleted his old Twitter, we lost a ton of info because of it)
>>11668382Welp, I found the scan for the TV Magazine drawings and it definitely looks like Archadis has boobs, but I could be wrong
>>11668373Looks more like he's giving you the Fig, which...honestly isn't much better.
>>11668386Boobs being held in place by the archaeopteryx's hands instead of a bra. Lewd - and even lewder because she's a Beast Former, meaning it's most likely actual flesh there.

>never got a breakdown to finish my Menasor/Stunticons>suddenly find G2 breakdown in neon blue/purpleIts go time.
>>11668398That gesture dates all the way back to Roman times. It has a weird origin - you're basically flipping off evil spirits (meaning that, when you use it on a person, you're essentially calling them a filthy hellspawn that's cursing your presence and saying they need to be warded off like a curse). It can also be seen as a crude caricature of the female genitals, with the shape of the fist representing the vulva and the thumb as the clitoris, thus earning it an obscene connotation akin tho the modern "Fuck You" from raising the middle finger. It's still in use in parts of Europe, so if you see a pissed-off Italian granny flashing that sign to you, she is most definitely telling you to fuck yourself.

Ordered the Sonic pack for my sonic shelf, Sonic is solid and overall really fun, Tails isn't as good, he has way more hollow parts and kibble and feels like he was designed with the intent of makeing tails into a transformer rather than a transformer based off tails, sonic feels like the opposite and is better off for it, love his head sculpt
>>11668159Style Gen is "we already had the CAD files open" the toyline, as the random bullshit they're packing with Optimus and Rodimus being the Studio Series toy again. Prime will sell, he always does. The riddle is if Slop Rod will kill this weird line.
In terms of Evergreen inspired design for Bumblebee, I think Cyberverse one looks the best.
>>11668671I don't think we've seen enough of the line to really gauge that. Hot Rod does seem very SS86 from what we can tell, but why wouldn't that be the case? What's the argument for it being otherwise?
>>11668103>>11668106>>11668109considering how a lot of TFA Ratchet's design seems to take cues from Trailbreaker with the hood beer gut, side panels and what not. its a good call honestly. they did a good job actually retooling it.
>>11668386so whats the legal ramifications of doing a contest for new designs and not compensating the original artist giving them a slice of the profits that their oc is now forever a part of a franchise it's not like creating ocs in cartoon or comic format where you're being paid for whatever work you're doing even if you don't claim full ownership of said oc.
>>11668719Takara redesigned them and gave them new names (the katakana in the three drawings are their original names) so that they were different enough to not have legal issues. I’m also going to assume that there were rules in the contest that told people that they wouldn’t own the characters anymore
>>11668103legacy tfa stuff must've sold poorly, seems they refuse to give them new molds nowdoubt we get anything major for the 2027 anniversary too
Despite it all, swapticons continue
>>11668808I wonder why they went with Skar over any of the other real dinobots.
>>11668784Hasbro always thinking of potential reuse of the mold for a different character. Maybe TFA Ratchet design is too unique.
>>11668808They're alright with a fun gimmick. But I don't think it worth the price.
>>11668813And he's a decepticon, for some reason.
>>11668719When you submit a design to a company for a contest you usually forego the rights to that design, but you get a prize in some way. Maybe money, maybe toys. And when you work for a company you typically also forego the rights to anything you create as part of your job in that company, so like, for example, if you created and designed a character named Decepticon Sneed for Hasbro and also engineered a toy for it, you wouldn't have any rights or receive any compensation over it because it would all belong to HasTak, even if Sneed became a fandom favorite and got new toys every new line
Are there pics or descriptions of the rest of the Target exclusives going on preorder this month?
>>11668367Look, I love Derrick, but I find it laughably hypocritical of him to complain about “fan fiction” and “misinformation” given he basically did the same thing during Ben 10: Omniverse, to the point that the Ben 10 Wiki had to declare his answers pseudocanonical because none of the Omniverse writers had any idea what he was talking about when asked about it. >>11668517I want the preliminary Hoist deco released as “Winch” (Hoist's working name. Your Monststructor, sir. >>11669718There's crossover toys of Frankenstein and Dracula as well as some various "monsters" like Repugnus, Squeezeplay, or Fangry
With the popularity of things like Mini-Brands and other toy-scale stuffs, how would you feel if Blaster or Soundwave turned into a like a DJ Mixing desk in-scale with other Transformers? Also, the modern Pretenders (Iguanus, Bomburst, and Skullgrin, who lack their old Pretender shells but now have their robot modes based off of their monstrous forms instead).>>11669756>wasn't there like skeleton transformers and some of them looked like their "flesh" was geting melted off? You're either talking about Bludgeon (Skeleton Samurai, who got two updated toys based off of Legacy Tarn in the past few years), the old Pretenders (who were robots inside of flesh-suits made of rubber. As mentioned above, a few were remade recently, though they no longer have the flesh suit gimmick), or this guy in the rear right, Skullitron, from The Last Knight (who's supposed to be rusting away from old age, apparently worse than ol' Kup). Skullitron (and his mold-mates) is a really neat concept, but unfortunately he and Steelbane are notoriously floppy; fortunately, the third use of the mold, Crimsonflame, fixes all of the old floppiness issues and even has a shield to make his beast mode back look better, though there was no way to fix the fact that his robot feet poke out in dragon form. Oh, and despite what his packaging says, Skullitron is an Autobot, not a Decepticon.

>>11669917with slight retooling so the dino head has somewhere to go, and the tail is in proportion in both modes.
>>11669995the ability to buy and sell IP has never made sense to me. How can you sell something and still have it? It's the same argument for prostitution, you're RENTING your body, not selling it. you can RENT out IP, you can LICENSE it, but you always still have it in your head, so it's impossible and unwise to sell the rights lock, stock, and barrel. They should stay with you, and expire shortly after you die.
>>11670040It's a risk I'm willing to take.
>>11670119>It really is basically the sameLmaoSo I guess I have SS87 Hound already then
>>11668986Cool, thanks, ill check them out
>>11670119I imagine all the people who bought the 5 pack just for him are doing a jig now.
>>11670206>tfw had none of those figures except for Jazz, whose individual release had translucent breakage issues anywayWas a good 5-pack.
>>11669707Random guesses: >"kick"Soccer balls in team colors, similar to the football helmets collab with the NFL. >"race" Maybe a Nascar collab? Or that horse-waifu gacha game, Umamusume? >"green"Possibly Green Lantern, although it would be surprising if their first DC collab was a character other than Batman or Superman. I'd personally be more interested in the car from The Green Hornet, although that'd almost certainly be a less popular choice. >"song (SDCC exclusive)" Jem and the Holograms, unless they wanted to revisit their Knights of Unicron set using new molds. If they're smart, it'd be some rushed repaints for a KPop Demon Hunters collab to cash in on its popularity before its fans move on to the next big thing. >"cemetary"The Walking Dead? Since the TF comics are with Skybound now, it'd probably be super easy to convince Kirkman on this one. >"monster jam 1"Hopefully monster trucks. But if not... General Mills monster cereal mascots?
>>11669707>>11669826here's hoping. two down, four to go.
>>11670245Song for Jem makes sense, I’m betting it’s the Misfit's van. I think cemetery is Grave Digger, hence why the last one is “monster jam 1”
>>11670119Neat, never got a chance at the 5 pack and was hoping for a solo release
>>11670287Patience is paying off more and more these days
>>11670309That’s honestly my go to thought process with any release these days, I know everything is either going to be discounted or be rereleased eventually
>>11670006>more football helmetsOh, of course it is.
>>11670224Honestly, the only duds were Sunstreaker and Wheeljack to me. Already had both and I hated almost everything they did with WJ. I didn't like the Sunstreaker mold either, specially the head.
>>11670135It sucks that no third party companies have made replacement clear windscreens. I'd need to either make my own (which is either an incredibly delicate job or requires me to get into casting) or I'd need to buy a donor Detritus (and that that point, I might as well just repaint the whole figure in the much better toy colour scheme)
>>11670345I know this is silly, but I do feel a little bad for the Hasbro and Takara designers on whether windshields should be clear or opaque because I swear the fandom is 50/50 on which is better
>>11670374It depends on the transformation. If the windscreen requires load-bearing joints it need to be opaque, if it doesn't then it can be clear.
>>11670338I mean, that's a mold they can milk for a while - they've got a whole League's worth of teams they can go through before they run out. It's easy money, really.
>>11670395or it would be, if there was any crossover between sports and toy fans
>>11667263Woah Ive been wanting it in this color so bad.
>>11670404I think there’s a little overlap, though I think it’s a bit silly to try doing every team
>>11669718Apeface and snapdragon are called horrorcons specifically because they're based on monster movies
>>11670416>How are Apeface and Snapdragon based on monster movies? One’s a giant gorilla and the other’s a giant lizard… ohThat’s kind of really obvious in hindsight
>>11670380They should use opaque frames with clear inserts more often.
>>11670428Windcharger has that for the windscreen, except then the side-windows are a huge translucent piece that requires excessive force to move, so he embodies both the best and worst examples of clear plastic usage in the same figure
>>11670374Opaque windows are unavoidable in some cases (Hoist's side windows immediately come to mind) but the flat baby blue paint they started using in SS86 looks horribly cheap. A metallic dark blue or something else resembling tinted windows would look so much better.
>>11670428right?i want more clear insets in general. they're so cool. especially with a textured pattern behind them, with metallic paint (or better, chrome)also? I want holograms. I want transformers to have little sections of their body with holograms. at least the chest.
>>11668517I know, I know, >IDW, but I always liked this guy. His design is so generic big bad in the best kind of way. I know there's a 3P but it's absolutely absurdly expensive on the aftermarket.
>>11670485>Unpublished design sketches reveal that Turmoil transforms into a big ol' tank with some sort of spiky plow on the frontHmm…
>>11669704>They deleted the articleAnd thus another five years of Megatron alt-mode discourse for some reason
>>11670506lego listings were fake so tfw deleted the article to seem credible
>>11670520Yeah? That’s what a credible website would do, either that or submit a retraction
I just found out Shattered Glass Wheelie was a Dark Crumplezone repaint in the comics it something now I wish it got made. Also its weird how back then we didn't have consistent g1 releases so they had make some SG have the exact same color schemes as their original versions and it was just being on a new mold that made them different so sometimes when genwunnified they make no fucking sense.
>>11670151There's that but i'm core concerned about the blasters/gun thingsThe Legacy toy has both pair of Lio Beams & Lio Missiles, but for the 40th toy he only has a pair of Lio Missiles newly scupted & painted....https://twitter.com/BigGodzirra/status/1961816020617969922
>>11670485Oh yo is there a 3p? Whats it called?
>>11670569lol the art's also missing the spoiler parts that everyone accidentally throws away.
>>11670638He’s talking about MMC Commotus
>>11670135Yeah, I can see why they left it that way for a CURRENT_YEAR SS86 release but I was hoping we'd eventually get it with a clear window to match alot of the previous toys.
>>11670428Preaching to the choir here but it's just another case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater with this fandom.
