The smart play system seems to use elements which lego used in Fusion, Ultra Agents, Nexo Knights, Hidden Side, Vidiyo and Super Mario. So all of these themes were just testing ground for this whole evolution Lego plans for their brand. Quite crazy.
The prices shall decide the fate of this, maybe this will teach Lego to fix their prices according to the times we live in.

Just built the Anniversary Display set. Well, it's simply wonderful. Truly a generational Ninjago set. The build works really well and it's very displayable. The minifigures are aplenty, and they look fantastic. Still don't like the ZX armour being golden for all the Ninja though; it definitely leaves a (very small) sour aftertaste.

People keep talking about Star Wars, Space, Castle, and Pirates. The sad truth is that all of these themes have peaked already. And once that happens, corporate greed steps in. Suddenly what made them great isn't good enough. They need to ramp things up and get as much money as quickly as possible. They strip the soul and leave us with an echo of what we loved. And unfortunately that soul cannot be returned. All these themes best days are behind them, they will never peak again.
