This is why I collect
I'm buying that lame ass "X-Men Villains" 5 pack because it was under 50 dollars.Figured might as well.
When are we getting a new Spider-Hulk!
>>11674326Why buy something just because it's on sale? That's how you run out of space
>>11674356fomo my dude
Who else is too poor to keep collecting in 2026?
Is the Daimon Hellstrom ML figure a bad basic body buck? I want a few for the feet and arms. I was thinking of kitbashing a Bombastic Bag-Man when he was in the shorts, bare feet and mostly shirtless - not the FF suit most everyone associates.
>>11674372I could but i feel like most figures are no longer worth it at the higher price points
>>11674356I'm in danger of running out of space, and I don't know, maybe I have jewish ancestry somewhere but when I see shit selling for half price or less I feel a compulsion to take the deal. It's why I own a Kamala Khan MCU figure (not the Captain Marvel 2 one), and she's still one of the best looking live action figures they've done. Shit posability, though.
>>11674402I'm not in danger of running out of space, I mean.
Odds we get a proper Marvel Legends boxset of her?
what's taking so long?the blokees stuff is pretty good but what are the rest doing? its been over a year of marvel rivals and not a single figure apart from blokees
>>11674412for anyone else who is waiting for MR figures but cannot stand the wait, the blokees venom looks good built right out of the box. his only issue is being short and lack of fists and his size. otherwise, great looking figure. the blokees spiderman needs a tiny of effort to look good. some easy panel line work on the webs will make a world of difference and color correction takes it further. easily doable with acrylic markers
>>11674412probably needing to make so much new shit for the figures
>>11674416The blokees are not 1/12 scale, they're like 1/16 or something
>>11674420Spiderman is 1/12. he's the same height as SHF SS Ultraman. he's also advertised 147mm tall which is about 176cm tall so it checks out. Venom is definitely out of scale
>>11674424But he's wayyy smaller than the mafex spidey tho?
>>11674441Mafex is just slightly oversized and from what I can find, spidey's height is 5'10 or 177cm according to his official marvel page and when converted to 1/12 it comes to around 14.7cm which is how tall the Blokees height is.
>>11674441I think Mafex as a whole is just bigger. It's consistent even comparing to SHF. I remember looking up reviews of Shin Ultraman and seeing the difference
>>11674441He's import 1/12 but not domestic 1/12. Mafex has been scaling their stuff to match ML heights.
>>11674464>>11674467>>11674468Fair enough. I feel like he's too small for ML, would've gotten him had he scaled well with ML
>>11674468>He's import 1/12 but not domestic 1/12LOL, this is absolutely retarded and meaningless.1/12 is 1/12 no matter what type of units of measurements you use or what country the toys are from.Maybe a toy company will lie about what scale a toy is, but AFAIK, most Japaense lines classify their figures as non-scale. No reason for them to lie.And the Mafex Spiderman definitely isn't oversized. Most MLs are pretty good when it comes to Spdierman being in scale, since most bodies are scaled correctly for the primary figure it was sculpted for: spiderman.Marvel Legend scale creep mostly comes from bodies being reused inappropriately.
>>11674494mafex is oversized in the context of 1/12. it is non-scale according to the officially linked amazon listing on their site. I don't know if ML has ever explicitly marketed themselves as 1/12 but if their specific spiderman sculpt is anywhere over the acceptable margin of error of 14.7cm then it is oversized or non-scale unless they're doing a while new spiderman whose height isn't 5'10/177cm
>>11674502I wouldn't consider anything oversized until it actually looks like it belongs in another scale altogether.Just look at the head and body difference between the Mafex and tha other spiderman here >>11674441 The spiderman on the left is almost an alien, instead of some 5'7 manlet like the height difference denotes.Whereas despite the MLs being taller in >>11674494 , their proportions are just as if different people are cosplaying at comic con. They belong together and not even a girl would be able to tell who's a 6'1 chad or the 5'11" manlet. With toys, the scale is never exact. So what we look for is something that's close enough that it doesn't distract from the character.
>>116745335'11 isn't the manlet. The 5'6" 5'7" dude is the manlet. The 5'8" - may be - if you want to be really cruel. Since that's pretty close to the norm or average height in the USA.
>>11674412The molds would require actual effort and not reusing bodies sculpted over ten years ago.
>>11674536my bad, i forgot that it's actually 5'10 that is the king of manlets. 5'11 is significantly better and fits in with the chads.Anyway, the point is that its almost impossible to tell whos taller when it's like a few cm in difference and are stylistically (or rather, not stylized since they're all human looking) the same. In scale, it's like MAfex Spiderman saying he's 5'10 when he's really 6', but everyone would believe him.Whereas that blokee (?) Spiderman could say he's 5'10" but most people would question if he's even human, muchless think he stands 5'8".
Guys, just don't reply to him. If you do he'll argue for the rest of the thread about what is considered short and what isn't. Just don't engage with him. I got my Cardiac and Owl yesterday. I got a bunch of stuff with them and haven't gotten to opening the MLs yet. Will post pics later.
>>11674533dudes arguing with math. it's okay to admit ML is non-scale to fit heacanon heights
>>11674494None of them are true 1:12, some are just closer than others. No one is making 5.25" Wolverines (lol, do it, Bandai). ML also has some proportion issues, with their disproportionately large hands, feet and heads. If I wasn't already wedded to the Mafex X-Men I would probably be in the SHF camp, as they scale closest to the lion's share of my import stuff.
>>11674570>fits in I accept your concession. Also, the average height for 99% of those women is 5'3" - so you're claiming: (a) men eight inches taller will want to literally stoop to date them; and (b) average women want 8 inches.
Getting back into collecting X-Men stuff this year thanks to the new Sentinel. I like 97 Cyke a lot after unboxing him, my only real gripe is the gold plastic they used for the visor. I get that they're trying to convey that it's made of metal, but it just doesn't look that way in XTAS or 97.
>>11674916Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of either head 97 Scott came with. I ended up swapping for the head that came with the Love Triangle 3 pack. The blues are slightly off, but it's not super noticeable imo, and the matte yellow visor looks so much better than the swirly twirly plastic Hasbro used for the 97 release.
whats the best moon guy figure apart revoltech's?
>>11674975One of the Hasbro MLs. Toy Biz ML if you're an odd duck.Other options include a LEGO minifig or the 3.75 ML figure, but I suspect that's not what you're after.
>>11674975I'm good with the west coast avengers gold belt one from the blackheart wave for now, plus it was cheap. They'll do a better standard or modern armored up one eventually, but better than the previous ones that are scalped at this point.
>>11674303
what figure/figures are (you) most excited for in twenty-twenty-sex?
>>11675055>>11675059pics?
>>11675247here you go, sonone day you'll be old enough to find pictures on the internet all by yourself
>>11675248I got a third party cape for that and it looks pretty good but it's fucking massive because it has to be big enough to do his moon glide but then if he's not doing that pose it's almost overly big doing anything else
>>11675257Yeah, I got one like that for Cabal Taskmater, and it looks great, but it's too fucking big and I ultimately went back to the plastic cape to take up less space.
>>11675248well im asking you for pics because this is the exact one of two figs that I looked at and thought "wow these are shit" and made me come here ask for the BEST moon guy figures in the first place
>>11675262I dont think I've ever gotten one that's more or less the same size as the Hasbro plastic one, cape makers are size queens
>>11675268if you're just going to be retard, don't post at all
>>11675202The rumored Crossing 2 packs
>>11675289Yeah, that Scarlet Witch will be nice, I can picture them retooling parts of it into pre-Asian Psylocke
>>11675279if you're mad that your reddit chungus response to me asking for pics didn't give you the satisfaction that you wanted, that's a (you) problem. I'm asking for the best figs. not some faggy shit that you will throw a tantrum to if someone doesn't like it
>>11675304cool paragraph
>>11675292oh right i forgot about mezco. i'll check those out
>>11674765>some are just closer than othersThat's the entire point, hence me saying they're "pretty good" when it comes to scale. The left spiderman is built like a lanky alien and the height of a child or a manlet.Whereas all the other figures have the body and height of an adult male human. They actually scale with one another even if they aren't exact.>>11674975Best Moon Knight figure is from Mezco.
>>11674975If you're not going the import route, I really like the classic Moon Knight but with the black head.
>>11675202So far, none, but that's because I'm a very picky person
>>11674920That seems like a good workaround. I'd head swap him with retro VHS sculpt, but the visor on the version I bought coming out warped and shitty looking is what made me quit out on collecting comic book shit like three years ago.
>>11675268>well im an imbecile who wants attention so im asking about plastic crack I looked at and thought "wow these are shit" and wanted people to agree with me and started crying when they didn'tNTA but ....
/toy/ really can't go a day without someone crashing out over something trivial
>>11675654>noo not my googlerinoNGMI
>>11675700It's made the board unusable
>>11675700It's always the most simple things too, like telling someone to Google something for themselves. Then they go on a three day long meltdown. I hate how mentally ill some of these people are. We need to reopen the asylums and lock these people up again.
hehe... it's been real, folks. but it's time to put an end to this once in for all :) in 3... 2... 1...
>>11675766
Why do you all act like such fucking drama queens all the time?
>>11675805I don't know what the specific strain of autism is called but it entails showing up in the Marvel thread and spazzing out when people talk about Marvel Legends, probably because they're the status quo, and then you pretend that imports or Mezco stuff has no flaws. It happens in the GI Joe threads too, with anti-ClassifiedUntil Mafex drops an Elektra and a Bullseye, I don't give a flying fuck about them
>>11675802you'll see ;)
I wonder if this increases or decreases the odds of ever getting a Netflix Purple Man figure. I feel like they'll definitely do a new Jessica Jones after Born Again season 2.
Can someone show the new Gamerverse Punisher head on the 80 years Punisher?
Does this torso BAF have any real value?I don't really put together customs so it's not of much value to me to hold on, and I'm going to put the 'Egghead' head sculpt in a fodder lot to unload with other junk. Or should I shave the top off, sand it down and repaint it to keep him as a possible Lex Luthor?
so.. what happened to the haslab F4 movie galactus…
>>11676133There never was one. What are you even talking about?
>>11676142it was rumored since last year along with the newly announced DP3 toys
>>11675929He'd be a good Smythe
>>11676058I always loved this pairing, it's like Mr. Conehead used his shrinking gun in reverse to create a new sex toy
>>11676233The BAF torso feels strangely a lot heavier and firmer than you would think.Egghead's head makes a decent deranged President Luthor but I don't want to shave it down, much less paint over that, when I have no ventilation where I currently live.
>>11676287LOL I MEAN GUFFAW. COME ON BRO FRFR?
>>11675753Yeah, or when you say you don't like a specific figure, and someone will get offended and tell you to kys. Like bro, there's 8 mil people in the world. There will always be someone who doesn't share the same taste as you. Just because someone doesn't like the figure doesn't mean you can't like it.
Has there been any other hot marvel legends lately apart from gamerverse psylocke? holy fuck psylocke has a nice body and im surprised ML managed to do something that Mafex cant. Are there any more of ML girls of this quality?
>>11676383Didn't look at the headsculpt?
>>11676403>head lol replaceable and still leagues ahead of mafex
>>11676409What head will you replace it with?
>>11676287I see some unfair distribution of neck between these four
>>11676437Yeppers, the black suit is a McFarlane Retro '66 body but it scales decently with the Marvel Legends. That head is also a Retro '66 but that figure has a peg and the black suit the neck just sits there, there's isn't even a hole for a peg. That Egghead head is too big, that's just there for laughs. It's not even pegged on. I doubt I will keep it, I will need to shave it. As soon as I figure out what fodder I want to unload, I'll just make a fodder lot sale.>>11676289EVERYONE ON LIFEIS FOR REAL FOR REAL, BRO
>>11676436>>11676403NTA but this exists and is pretty cheap new.
>>11676403>>11676409there are also plenty of custom headsculpts you can print or have someone make for you if the default head concerns you but if I am buying this which I probably will in the future, im good with the default head but I'm not opposed to buying a custom print or printing and painting it myself.
>>11675945i cant, sorry
>>11676409I have both but nah, Mafex nails the Jim Lee art style a lot better. I do like how thick and curvy the ML is but the face really could've been better. Hasbro should've reused the one from the X-Men uniform 3-pack Psylocke and matched the skintone. Sad that you can't even swap between the two figures since the skintone is too pale on the Gamerverse.
>>11676383She's from the same body mold as dark avengers ms marvel, warbird, phoenix and black widow with slight differences in the sculpts (e.g., ms marvel has a deeper cleavage than warbird)
>>11676287Clark looking like he spent too much time with the Ninja TurtlesSuperman looking like Mr. Curious right thereLex looking like he swallowed all the eggs used in the making of those forty cakes>>11676347People in these threads are simply fragile pussies. The amount of effort wasted to convince people to like figures they don't want to like is insane>>11676584I wish CT finally started releasing the X-Men Mafex figures. Btw, they just announced Hush Superman
>>11676543That's a 7in figure. It's too big to work
>>11676798She's actually on the petite size. You're right, Todd fucks up and made, for example, Power Girl into a mutant giant. And this head would look big on some ML body but it would work on others, it depends. But anyways, anon already answered here: >>11676553Getting a head isn't hard, it can even be cheap - PICREL cost me $8 and since I bought three other fodder lots from that seller, the shipping was negligible on everything. Getting a GOOD body, that's fucking harder than shit sometimes.
>>11675593Yeah, what >>11676809 said. Skin tones aren't even close. Shang has more of a pinkish hue, whereas Mandarin is the paler tone they've been going for lately.
>>11674372It's not that I'm poor, I just have decent figures of the characters I like
>>11676287Thanks for the kek
Hmmm
>>11677255Did you remove the underwear paint or is that too sex obsessed
>>11677390You guys are so cringe lmao
>>11677422Well yeah, so are you. You wouldn't be posting here if you weren't
>>11677255I still can't believe Disney let them make these
>>11675289>The rumored Crossing 2 packsI've seen the rumor of a Scarlet Witch/Vision pack, what else is rumored? Kang and Mantis in their costumes from that story would be nice.
>>11677520Even they know the power of the gooner. It's how Marvel Rivals is still truckin along
>>11677533Any Crossing two pack would have to be Wanda and Hawkeye since they are the only two new costumes from that period people care about
>>11675291>pre-Asian PsylockeYes please, she's the only one missing from my Outback lineup. I mean technically Colossus too, but his shirt is removable on the Marvel Select, and that's close enough imo.
>>11677928Psylocke used to not be asian?
>>11677933You need to try harder, weak bait
>>11677934I seriously didn't know, im a casual who got into xmen from xmen tas
>>11677935She was originally British and got body swapped with an assassin named Kwannon. Her name is Betsy Braddock, not exactly the most Asian name. Originally, after the X-Men were scattered after entering the Siege Perilous, Betsy ended up in Madripoor where some assassins brainwashed and had her appearance altered to resemble Kwannon. A few years later though, it was retconned to be an outright body swap where Betsy was inhabiting Kwannon's actual body and vice versa. Kwannon then died, in Betsy's white girl body, due to the Legacy Virus, although she was revived and I believe they switched a few times during Krakoa. I haven't read modern comics since around when Krakoa started so I'm not too sure the specifics, I just think I remembered seeing something about that somewhere.
>>11677947This is why comics suck. Why can't Psylocke just be Asian, full stop.
>>11677960Because she wasn't Asian when she was created.
>>11674298>https://imgur.com/a/YAVUq40Whom ever does these infographics, great job.Has the Gwen Stacy body buck ever been reused on anything and still look like it has a skirt? I want a female civilian body for this McFarlane head as a Lois Lane. The Clark Kent is going to be on a six inch buck as well so an ML will scale well. But since I don't want to use Zendaya, it looks like I have few choices without wasting money on something like the Gwen Stacy Retro Spidey?
If you remember the anon who posted about his senibtel sitting out in the snow for two weeks, I've just now unpacked it and it's like perfectly fine
got this as a present from a friend
>>11678172Thats a box, anon. Hows the figure?
>>11676383They’re reissuing ToyBiz figures?
>>11677960Because she's the sister of Captain Britain
>>11678206pretty fun figure
>>11678255>>11678206
>>11678185>mindbroken.webm
>>11676287Please god tell me this is a joke.
>>11678255Cover-tier pose, anon. Great figure.
>>11678206>>11678255>>11678257Nice. I have the Walgreens version. I would've gotten this if the only difference wasn't pins and a new head. The silver paint they used is even the same on the Walgreens one.
>>11678275
>>11675945Only because I love you, anon.
>>11675945>>11678451EVERY FUCKING TIMEAnyway, the head pops right on, but the 80th head won't fit on the Gamerverse body, so I'm guessing it'll stretch out the plastic if left on for a while. Skin isn't a 100% match, but you won't notice once it's posed up.
>>11675945>>11678453Okay, now I got it.
>>11676287
>>11677390I still don't know what's best to use for that kinda thing, but I don't know if I'd bother anyway. >>11678453>>11678454Thanks, should work for my kitbash. Now I gotta figure out how I'm gonna swap the legs.
