Now that HE has stopped collecting the line mcfarlane is going to ramp up production as the one mcfarlane wanted to miss out on every figure is no longer a concern
>>
>>11674832
If leaker anon is to be believed which given his track record I do he said mcfarlane was going to completely switch over to clam shells to counter act swapping and returns before losing the license. It’s interesting that page punchers seem to be getting accessories and wired capes now and the regular releases are phasing the extras out completely.

Generic, printed symbols, all on the same body with some massive ab cut, because he-man is the gayest shit ever and the fags running Mattel will think Batman being able to suck his own dick is important
>>
>>11674917
The articulation for the basic kids line will be like jakks stuff
>>
>>11674460
The DC Direct looks better aesthetically and probably looks more like the comic arc. But it will articulate the least - which for Flash you might care more about. Most of my DCD Flash figures are in the back rows or in static poses and I really haven't fussed with them much. But as a comic book reader still, I love some to death.

The DCUC will articulate better but still worse than some Marvel Selects and even early Marvel Legends. The DCUC Flashes are all pretty much on the same buck and he's muscular but lanky.

Both are expensive NIB on the secondary market. Even loose/used they can be over-priced.

Todd made a nice looking Kyle in blue. Why no Flash, who knows?

You could look for the translucent JL Task Force blue Flash and give him a blue power battery and the right sticker.

I now regret I passed him by at a Ross last summer when the entire lineup was at one store at S7.99 each because the rest of them looked so fucked up.

Yeah, the metallic looks great in hand, I don't own him but a friend has a huge Lantern collection including almost every blue made.
But you're right about the hand. On a lot of the DCD's, you have to sort of pry and carefully almost shove the power batteries in, but there is a way to hold it.

>indigo
They will look good with PICREL.
I think those would work since the constructs should be translucent.
In fact, if those were between $10-20 I would buy them myself - EBAY or elsewhere?

Son of a bitch, I'm so jelly of that Kyle figure. I hate Todd so much for not releasing him seperately. Tried to have a 90s line up but so far, the only GL is the shiny Rebirth one. Still like the look of that one though and it's not like the Grant Morrison team will ever be complete after my deciding in favour of classic (Digital wave) Aquaman instead of Hook Aquaman

How the hell do you already have the new Flash though? Could you showcase whether his forward range on the legs is of any use?

Not gonna lie, I noticed it when I first took it out of the box. Then I put him on the shelf and you can't see shit from two feet away so that was a relief. Not that I'm that nitpicky with minor things anyway but to be fair, I'm not gonna complain when it comes to a figure I got for 15€

>I think I paid like $65 after shipping for him
It's definitely a fair price for an original Mafex. If they were more around the 50-buck ballpark, I'd consider getting them but where I live, you can't get any Mafex under 80€. When I got into collecting, I promised myself never to pay more than 50€ for a DC and Marvel figure though and so far, I've been able to do that

My friend, you do understand that COLLECTING toys is a big part of this board correct?

Question for the thread, why do so many of you buy toys from a company you seemingly dislike? This thread has such open contempt for McFarlane that you're announcing that you're free after making one last pre-order. I like DC too, but not enough to buy toys I know I'm going to be unsatisfied with. Any insight is appreciated because quite frankly, I just don't get it.
>>

I like the characters, where else can i get Firestorm or Deathstorm or Captain Carrot or Parallax. I may not think these are the greatest 'toys' but i think over all they look decent and with a few accessories here and there you can end up with pretty sharp figure. If i were totally unsatisified id never buy another figure. I think when people say they are leaving i think they primarly mean they are leaving this crock pot of conversation where the same people spout the same drivel each and everyday.

from either a Constantine or a ML Strange, or similar
even some power rangers shit might work
and it probably wont be CHEAP cheap since you'll waste money on postage trying to find things on the secondary market.
I would go to some customizer forums and also the BST and ask there for people who have effects and craps they didn't use or don't want and try that first - maybe someone will even be willing to trade you plus postage for something you no longer want who has a bunch of effects just sitting in some tackle box?

I'm having trouble getting the white gloved Alfred hands off this retro Bat '66 McFart - should I really dip the arms in a warm (or hot) bath and for how long? They pull out and slide out a bit but it feels like I am going to break something to get the hands off completely.

Also, cheap suggestions to add some neck for the Clark Kent? I thought it would be a one to one swap since its the head off the Retro '66 Supes.

I don't mind buying some neck peg fodder but it looks like I need the neck piece, not just a higher head peg.

And I don't have one or think I have a body that I want to chop up that isn't already painted. I do have some WWE bodies I would chop up but those are fucking thick necks?
>>
>>11676068
Heat the water to where it's nice and hot to the touch, but not boiling. Then dip the part in question in for 15 to 30 seconds to heat it up. See if that works. Be careful though, if you feel like it's breaking already, you may just make it worse. That's what I do when heating parts though, usually letting my faucet warm up to the hottest temperature is enough.

>>11675994
As someone who is able to both praise and shit on McFarlane, I feel like for most people in these threads, it's the same dilemma as for me most of the time. Only difference being that I buy selected figures (I am only buying JL members). McFarlane offers extremely poor quality for the price most of the time with the main positive factor being the character selection. I wouldn't give that much of a damn about sculpts and paintjobs (for the most part) if the articulation were great but it's just not. So buying the figures is always connected to having mixed feelings about the figures each and every time. Despite being able to get joy out of all my buys, the only figure I have where I can really say I have no issues is the Silver Age Superman. I do however appreciate that we are getting the versions fans ask for somewhere down the line but even with that, a lot of it is coming too late (like 90s Grant Morrison Flash while everyone has already bought the Dawn of DC Flash)

>>11676028
The customiser forum idea is amazing, didn't think about that. Constantine has hands attached to the effect so it's impossible to use that one. Most of the ML Strange figures have the same thing although the other day, I found one that didn't so I was already playing with that thought
>>
>>11676175
There are like one or two figures where that would apply but no, they're pretty sturdy. My Plastic Man Wave Black-and-yellow Batman fell off the shelf like three times due to his heavy-ass cape and he was fine every single time. You shouldn't worry about it

>>11676528
Really eager to find out what Mattel has in store for fans. I won't be getting them since I already have my McFarlanes while also having the main Leaguers in DC Icons form. That being said, I would love it if fans finally received some really good figures without the negatives. Also hoping the size is at least comparable to Marvel Legends so people can finally shut up about that

What?
>>
>>11676779
It's way too complicated to explain but the gist is that Cosmic Boy became Tine Trapper when the original Time Trapper died and created temporal clones of himself and the rest of himself and the rest of the Adventure Comics era Legion circa right before Ferro Lad's death, because said clone Legion escaped from custody of the dominators resulting in them being needed to be created to patch over the paradox.

Basically DC fucked up the Legion so badly with a grim and gritty reboot in the early 90s, that they introduced a clone version (referred to as "The SW6" per their clone batch name) of the classic 60s era Legion roster and gave them their own spin-off book. When it failed to boost sales, they basically gave up and used Zero Hour to reboot the Legion from scratch with only the SW6 costumes carrying over for what was referred to as "The Archie Legion" by fans.

So technically the Platinum Cosmic Boy is both the SW6 clone and Post-Zero Hour reboot Cosmic Boy.

They made too many in the early days and they all went to clearance is the general idea. Some of us that have been here for awhile can recall joking about literally waiting for things to go on clearance but those days pretty much ended with max mercury and then shortly afterwards multiverse left the toy aisle at walmart and became a collectible in the electronics section.
This is just my recollection of things, and may be incorrect.

Patio General, formerly Detective Comics Comics General
>>
>>11678022
As someone who was collecting the line since 2021, random figures were going on clearance as far back as 2021. A few were harder to get but nothing insane. It depended on the figure but most figures stayed on Amazon for quite awhile. The line was a bit easier to get than Marvel Legends basically and there were some cheap deals on some bad figures.

The Parallax/Azbat gold labels were the first signs of madness, but they were acquirable. Azbat less so.

Then the Catwoman Bulge wave was the real end of availability and some figures skyrocketing beyond reason. After that the rarity just seemed to keep getting worse and then by 2024 eventually you had to be there within a few hours to minutes of preorder drop to get the figure with some notable exceptions.
>>
It will never not blow my mind how you apes absolutely lost your marbles over the fact that I had a patio built for my new house. Absolutely unreal. I mean the original post that even brought it up was a response to someone saying $100 is a lot of money or something along those lines. I was merely pointing out that $100 isn't really that much by comparing it to one of the larger purchases I had made around that time. You guys then decided to sperg out about it for literally months. That's not my fault, that's 100% on you weirdos. I'm really enjoying the patio by the way. It's nice to go out in the mornings while drinking my coffee and reading my morning 4chan while sitting and enjoying the sunrise.
>>

>play the best song in the world or I'll eat your souls

It's definitely a waste to spend $100 on a McFarlane. Even $35. They're such poor quality most I wouldn't buy for 10, some like say King Shazam you'd have to pay me to take because it isn't worth the space it'd take up.
>>
>>11678390
I want to say the post was discussing imports, as I recently also purchased an import and that was how the topic of price originally came up. I do agree that spending $100 on a McFarlane is outrageous. I don't collect McFarlanes though so that's kind of a moot point.

And that's great that you wouldn't spend $10 on most of them, but no one cares and that has nothing to do with what we were talking about just now. I guess this random anger at shit no one even brought up is exactly why you faggots can't let go of the patio thing. Consider seeking therapy or something, you have problems. Jealousy being chief among them.

MV figures are 7in and thus larger, which means more coverage, which means its higher cost to give them a matte finish. This is why people who want 7in figures over true 6in don't make much sense. they're lowering the quality to just have something that's bigger when it doesn't need to be.

DC Direct exclusive - but he's actually not fully blue
https://www.walmart.com/ip/DC-Blackest-Night-Hal-Jordan-Blue-Lantern-Action-Figure/291449311
And you can find him cheaper than the WM listing. But that listing had the box and info in case you wanted it.

And I thought there was also a Mattel two pack but that's a YELLOW Hal and a Blue Kyle. So it must be a custom I saw as a Mattel DCUC Blue Hal. I know there are several DC Direct Blue Hals customs floating around on Figure Realm.

The DCUC Hal body/head sculpt is not hard to find cheap, used. But he's an ugly ass head sculpt. The McFarlanes are much better looking. Putting a McFarlane Hal head on that Kyle blue buck would be so much easier to do and look far better ultimately.

There's also this weird thing:

The robots look good, the Minions look good, and some of the Marvel Rival stuff looks good, when you see it on people's social. If you can pick it up for $19.99 (or better yet, the prices people are paying in Vietnam and Singapore), it's a great looking action figure.

I agree, and had my doubts when they showed the Batman Blind Boxes, and still hate the fucking Gunn suit with a passion of a billion brilliant suns, but after seeing a lot of videos and pictures, it's the best looking CorenSupes, bar the Inart, on the market. Sucks that it's so small.

>>11679059
Yeah, I saw that on two reviews, and one showed that it was fraying. I think it's their first cape, because the Marvel Rivals Thor they did has no cape and I haven't paid attention to their batcrap.

Mister Nobody isn't hard to suggest with an entirely black skin-suit/spandex equivalent body - no boots or other, I don't know that Todd has done this because they all still have boots and in some cases busy crap on them.

But there's some Marvel Legends bucks like that and one anon on a custom board came up with a clever way to suggest the body cuts - just how do you do the head successfully is the final question. The rest would be hard.

They did a Flashpoint Cyborg build a figure wave with Barry using the Blue Beetle buck. Then they used tooling from that Barry to make Kid Flash from the Crisis on Infinite Earths Monitor baf wave. Then again for Wally in the Justice League Task Force Darkseid baf wave. Then repainted the JLTF Wally for that Gold one. The new Barry is just the Flashpoint Barry with a black outlined Flash emblem, no alt head, extra hands, and a comic.
>>

they both use the blue beetle buck but with different heads and shoes and obviously paintjobs. yes one is flash and the other is different flash, and to the the average casual there's no difference flash is flash but to people who care Page Punchers is Barry Allen Flash, basically the dude who most people consider THE Flash. while JLA is Wally West Flash, if you grew up with JL or JLU then this is probably your idea of Flash.

to grossly over simplify them basically Barry Allen is Peter Parker while Wally West is Miles Morales.

Ali Express has him cheaper. I'm sure there are other import companies from the far east that can sell him.

BBTS has SOME of the Marvel on sale. I'm personally hoping that they will list the DC but I already know they can't 'announce' it or market it (which is the same for some of the other import stuff they sell). And you'll probably have to wait for that - and many collectors have no patience.

Entertainment Earth is the 'affiliate' in North America for Blokees, but all I see listed on their site is the Transformer's and weeb stuff. For all I know, they sold the Poke and Minions and it's just sold out, their search sucks ass sometimes unless you're search from a web browser (and then it comes up as an "informational post").

If you have hobby and kit shops in your area, you might ask them. I suspect Entertainment Earth can import it from the manufacturer and ship it into the USA and send it to mom and pop retailers but none of them can list it for sale on line (so no third party listings on Amazon, maybe?)

I don't get how people get away with all those obvious awful licensed Marvel, DC, Star Wars and other franchise tee shirts on Amazon if that's the case, though.

I suspect that Todd's shitty shitshow contract terms prevent Blokee from being

>does anyone own the old DC direct Kingdom Come figures
I own the Kid Flash and its a staction figure like Todd's shit from the previous decade (Gears of War, etc. and the new sports craps he keeps shitting out).
The Green Lantern looks neat but can barely stand or move.
The translucent Flash looks great on my display but it's in the back where it's back lit which is part of it.

I only own maybe four or six more? Some have never seen the light of day since they arrived from winning an auction.
These rest I have listed to sell, plan to, or have sold.
There are boomers who buy these all the time, so they are easy to flip.

I actually prefer the Alex Ross Justice figures, if that's what you're specifically wanting - and just bought a second one of the armor figures and might army build with at least four of these if I can pick up two more for cheap:
https://toywiz.com/dc-alex-ross-justice-league-series-7-armored-superman-action-figure/

Now if you are just asking about DC DIrect, a lot of people here will tell you they are crap that doesn't articulate well, and that's mostly true but they are also a hell of lot better looking than Mattel or McFarlane.

Yeah, am passing on Page Puncher, but pre-ordered that "repaint" - the "JLTF" body last night when it popped up again at Walmart at $24 but would cancel if Titano was the same.

what made you think mcfarlane was going to bring the best out of DC? Looking at his past work, the best we were going to get was detailed staction figs. I'm surprised todd even added this much articulation.

>>11680541
when you narrow it down to companies that produce domestically yeah i think mcfarlane is the only one to pick up the mantle realistically speaking (without hindsight ofcourse.)

McFarlane Toys may have been artistic but technically they are incompetent. The articulation was never going to work properly and with super heroes, articulation matters

Todd refuses to admit shit like the side eyes is not his fucking fault and doubles down and floods his shitty line with more, even NEW fucking head sculpts with this problem because he wouldn't just say, "Sorry guys, we fucked up." If I owned the company, I'd offer a coupon where if you bought two of the next wave from him you could pick two replacement heads for like $2 each that didn't have side eyes. No one would view him as cheap for refusing to do this with the big box retailers if he called it a McFarlane Club promotion. He'd still make money on the heads and come out like a good guy

Instead he's an idiot who refuses to publicly admit to making a mistake.
>>
>>11680911
The amount of paintwork on the heads actually most likely cost more than $2 which is why mcfarlane did faceplates rather than extra heads with only a few exceptions

Cheapest one is $100+ from Italy.
Also, surprised to see new product listed on BBTS but nothing licensed other than homegrown (JP) lines.

I remember hearing about these during lockdown in the DC Fandom toy section of the forum and looking up prices and thinking they are absurd

The Batman TAS line is closer to 1/12 scale than it is to Todd's 1/10 scale. This is because the line initially, and still does I think, was just reusing the old DC Collectibles molds that Todd somehow acquired or something along those lines. So those will be slightly underscaled compared to a regular DC Multiverse figure. Todd did do a handful of DCAU style figures early on in DC Multiverse's run like >>11681143 but they're separate from the Batman TAS line and are 1/10 scale. Todd didn't even have the old molds at that point I wanna say.
>>
>>11681176
>>11681174
DC Direct you are buying from BBTS today is todd slop. You are getting either a 6" or 7" figure. Whatever is telling you to buy is DC Direct from the original (non-Todd slop) version, which was run by Warner Brothers and DC Comics. You will only find that on EBAY although some third party sellers like Toy Whiz or Toynk might list it on say Amazon, Best Buy or Walmart.

>>11681184
>line initially, and still does I think, was just reusing the old DC Collectibles molds that Todd somehow acquired
When they did the renewal, I think it was, of the license in 2020? 2021, Todd got the right to use DC Direct, which included access to their molds, designs, etc. That's why we got, for example, the Bernejo design of Superman in the Page Punchers and I think that's what Page Punchers was originally supposed to be, not just another confusing name thing - especially when Todd started shitting things up with Red Plats and plat plats and all his other nonsense. They were supposed to do the Capullo, Cooke and other designs but Todd begged off by arguing the Bernejo hadn't sold.
>>
>>11681184
This is correct. Todd did not get the DCDirect stuff until part way through the license. Before that he made animated looking figures in 7in but they were never well liked since they looked weird
>>
>>11681176
if your pockets are deep enough id recommend the mafex batman, and only the mafex batman. tim verse figures are unfortunately stuck in the past with articulation. think these are 6inch
