I've found a bunch of figures online under the name of Mythic Legions, and I can't tell if it's shilled by a cult or if the figures are legitimately good figures in 2026.
Are there Mythic Legions owners here? I'm looking at PO figures like this Maxillus

Hello sir, welcome out from under your rock. We've had a Mythic Legions/Fantasy thread running on toy for nearly a decade, if not more. >>11682116

Generally speaking, they are fantastic figures but lack a lot of the extreme flexibility of JP lines or even something like Marvel Legends. They make up for that lack of articulation with excellent sculpts and paint jobs, as well as top notch soft goods such as that figure you posted. Not sure why you'd want to pre-order a figure that released a year ago, but they always have something new coming out.

If you are looking for super articulate, hyper moveable, inhumanely flexible figures, this is not the line for you. Their articulation is decent but outdated and far from the defining feature of the figures. But if you like thick, solid, well crafted toys with the option to mix and match parts between figures to customize your own fantasy characters, I suggest giving the line a try.

Also, there's one really butthurt troll who will sperg out because you mentioned this line, it's best to just ignore him.

What he said.

Thank you friend.
I hadn't noticed the thread because of all those damn lego threads recently inundating the board.
I first landed on that figure through a local website indicating a PO for the figure. As it turns out, it's just a crappy website here in Canada.
I'll take a look at the franchise via more legit sources like BBTS, and will keep an eye on the thread you mentioned before crawling back under that rock. Thanks!

They look awesome and have incredible sculpts. Their QC is a mixed bag with a few waves in particular being very prone to breaks. 90% of the line doesn't have good articulation, but some of their latest figures have finally started to address this. If you want figures to pose and put on a shelf and not mess with much, or do "serious" toy photography, they're good. If you want toys that are fun to play with, mess around with a lot on your desk or toss in a backpack to take on trips, don't bother.

BBTS is excellent and had some stuff on sale. Plus the pile of loot can't be beat if you don't have conflicts waiting on a preorder and stuff in stock.
>>
>>11682480
Everything in the first reply is spot on.
As for what >>11682566 said regarding QC, it was mainly the first couple of waves that suffered from paint that would chip easily or loose hips, but many of those figures have had reissues in All Star waves that fixed their issues. The Poxxus wave that was released in 2024 was the main one that had a huge amount of reports of joints snapping due to air bubbles in the joints, so be aware, though Four Horsemen are pretty responsive with sending replacement parts these days.
Articulation is limited in that most figures don't have double elbows and knees, but the range on the single joints is pretty good, and the knights from the same wave as Maxillius have much improved range compared to older knights which allows them to two hand a sword while still only being single jointed elbows. A couple of recent figures up for preorder have double knees and elbows along with butterfly shoulder joints, but so far only one or two released figures feature those parts.

Thanks guys. I'll probably grab a couple older figures that I find interesting, and I'll try to keep up with future releases as they seem to be improving their figures over time.
I also looked up the lore page ( sourcehorsemen com/mythic-legions/lore ) to try and understand if all those figs tie in to comics or something. It seems like they could build up to a show, comics, or video games. Am I getting this right?

be aware that even a totally unbiased middle of the road opinion on the line like >>11682647
will be jumped on and "Explained away" by jackasses like >>11682647 who can't stand even the most basic objective criticism of their line. i almost forgot how fucking annoying the fandom is for this line, truly the most insufferable cunts.

tldr yes it is shilled by a cult.

The best place to buy these guys is direct from the 4H themselves. They don't have a large variety in stock, but they're the cheapest you'll ever find em (short of finding an absurd deal on Mercari or something). BBTS is a good alternative though, especially if only getting single figures. The shipping costs kind of balance out the increased retail price.

The general has more info on their release schedules and upcoming sales. If you're curious, there's a small but decent variety of figures on their store right now. Stand outs, imo are Duban, Arrizak, Shadow Orc army builder, and any of the Armory Knights. And if you get a few and like the line, a new wave should be hitting retail next month and there will be a huge sale on the 4H's site in April that might have some rarer figures mixed in for their original prices. It's not a line you have to constantly check in on, but they still put out a LOT of figures these days so it can get hard to keep track. But the General usually shares any news as soon as it's announced.

This is why no one listens to you.

If you need any further proof OP just remember that we said very similar things about the toyline, but one person wanted to warn you about spotty QC and the other only brought it up after a glowing post who tried to downplay the negatives of the line.

Also this guy replying regularly likes to pretend every single person who doesn't worship the line head to toe is the same person. This is textbook strawman argument- ends his first post saying that there's "one guy" who is a sperg and to ignore any negativity. Now that one person posted something that wasn't a glowing review- even though i said they're incredible if your primary purpose is to put them on a shelf- the same guy comes back trying to downplay any negative qualities and says the first objective comment is actually someone who can't be trusted.

Your gut was right, it's a cult. The line may be worth checking out- but if you don't like anything about it, make sure you keep it to yourself or else you'll face people immediately and needlessly jumping on your shit. Cult.

That was my first reply in the thread, and I was mainly elaborating on which waves are more likely to have have QC issues. I always try to warn newbs to the line away from buying any figs from the Poxxus wave so that their first experience with the line isn't shit.
And the first anon that replied to OP didn't say to ignore all negativity. Do you even know what a strawman is? Because you made quite a few in that post.
Tell ya hwat, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you can post a pic of a figure with a timestamp.

I'm the dude who first responded to the OP, whom I'd like to thank for taking the "under a rock joke" in stride. I've been critical of the Legions Articulation since I got that first Test Shot in hand back in december 2015, I still have the copypaste review saved talking about it whenever anyone asked. I've always criticized the faults in the line, and have actually complained multiple times across /toy/ *today* about how frustrating it is they don't do cheap army builders anymore.

But Spergy McSpergsalot here >11682683 will ignore anything posted and just go on crazy rants of mostly made up grievances and escalating minor issues into absolute atrocities. I'm sure he'll start spamming his stolen pic folder in no time. Don't bother giving him the benefit of the doubt, he's been screeching about this for a decade. Any normal person would just ignore a line they don't like, but he's on an active campaign to ruin any discussion about it for reasons beyond normal comprehension.
>>
>>11682781
Kek.
Benefit of the doubt given.
Like I said, I wasn't trying to downplay the negatives, I was just elaborating on some of your points. It's fine to say there's been spotty QC and articulation limitations, but I'd rather tell newfags how to avoid the worst of it and what the articulation limitations are.
So we will spare you from the sacrificial alter, but if you would like to join our congregation at our compound in Guyana, we would be honored. All you will need to bring is a black shirt and sweatpants, and a new pair of 1993 black and white Nike Decades. Refreshments will be provided.
>>11682799
Yo. I'm the anon who brought up how we need more Legion Builders over in /mfg/, and specifically a gunmetal one. Then again, I always bring up that we need more Legion Builders.
I don't think it's "him." I'll admit, when >11682683 accused me of being you and samefagging, I was sus. But "he" would never post a creative timestamped photo like that, let alone one with a figure that only came out last year. His style of timestamped photos are always poorly lit in a dark room in front of his computer screen. Which is good, because that will totally fuck his eyes.
I recognise your posting style, and I'm pretty sure I recognize his wall from other posts on the board.
I don't think he's the boogeyman. Seriously, look at >>11682781
Only four words? Not his style.
We need to chill.
>>
>>11682821
Apologize to that guy and to you as well, guess I'm a bit gunshy when people start tossing out such blatant strawman arguments. I love this line, but it's certainly not perfect and I've always been vocal about it's problems. And yet some anons will still scream "shill" despite me telling people why they shouldn't actually buy these figures.

But even at their worst, I've always found the line and the company to be really solid and worthwhile. Despite having a fairly large collection of these guys, and the 4H routinely making absolutely dumbass decisions, when it comes to actually playing with the figures I always enjoy the experience. There's plenty of toylines I honestly can't say the same about, despite being fans of them just as long as I've been a fan of the 4h's stuff.
