Are you more excited for Bruticus, the newest frameslop combiner, or Monstructor, the newest nonframeslop combiner?Previous:>>11715466
Mistress of flame?
>>11720256might get this guy whenever he drops, he looks fun
>>11720250>>11720256Monstructor > Slopticus
>>11720250Bruticus, it's got more play value than a bunch of compromised bricks that barely transform.
>>11720250CWcels claim to hate frame combiners and can't stop using le epic "slop" term for them but yet also can't stop from making new threads starring them in the OP pic.
>>11720250Bruticus, if only 'cuz the individuals are actually pretty neat (or at least the two I have, Vortex and Brawl, are). Combined mode looks, eh, fine. Monstructor is a disaster.
>>11720256The original Dinobots/Volcanicus mold is poorly designed, resulting in the terrible Dinoking and this Monstructor. The combined mode suffers from kibble hindering articulation and involves a lot of parts-forming.The last good Core/Legends class combiners I can think of are POTP Battletrap and T30 Centuritron.
>>11720250I had a mild interest in getting one of the frames before seeing this picture. They really all suck, don’t they?
>>11720233>him just being camo tryp isn’t going to be as good as him being part tankIn that case, I propose they redesign him as a literal dragon tank, a la Tankdramon.
>>11720349>They really all suck, don’t they?On the contrary, they're all nice and sturdy and look quite nice together.I hope they do the Protectobots within the next couple years so I can add Defensor (excuse me, DEFENSLOP) to my growing framechad collection.
>>11720350With the horn still, and him being a literal tank dragon thing is also a double-reference to him being Megastorm too, though putting a bit more intelligence in the eyes would also be needed. Base to Giant Railline Tank thing like a Cybertronian version of this to Tank Dinosaur
>>11720250It won't be too long before someone puts out upgrade kits to replace the limb bots completely, huh? Seeing as how they don't really contribute to the combiner outside of basically being stapled onto the frames. That fuckass Prime combiner's practically begging for one. They'd probably be cheaper than buying all the components to boot. Also, Ai-chan has nothing to do with this post, I just think she's cute.
>>11720250Modern transformers suck so fucking hard. Any adult that prefers these over 3rd party or MP must be genuinely autistic. You can't even argue about play value because legends does it better.
>>11720363Imagine if Megatron transformed into that instead of a generic tank. Also, the shape of that is closer to a pistol.
>>11720373Already exists
>>11720375This is cool but this is an original IP not related to Transformers nor Megatron
>>11720380It's very clearly nazi Megatron. This is the like the 3rd Megatron they've made.
Managed to find Rewind’s boyfriend
>>11720373So, do you have any suggestions for Tanks that could turn into a base then, since this still has to turn into a fucked up evil dinosaur robot tank
>>11720390I'm talking about Megatron transform into a railway gun, not related to the previous conversations
>>11720399So then suggest tanks for Gigastorm to turn into then.
>>11720402Not a tank, but I think a giant excavator like Cybertron Metroplex/Galaxy Force Megalo Convoy kinda resembles the dinosaur/kaiju/gojira silhouette.
>>11720371Reject modernityEmbrace tradition
>>11720256this looks like absolute batman dogshit
>>11720407I would prefer a tank due to again megastorm/gigastorm thing
>>11720367>It won't be too long before someone puts out upgrade kits to replace the limb bots completely, huh? It's inevitable. There one for Superion already.
>>11720250Both look like shit. This design team really can't make a combiner.
Monstructor, because I don't have one yet. That said, my current Bruticus is that spindly Fall of Cybertron one, so yeah. Ready for an upgrade. Plus I need the frame for Nexus.
>>11720436Looks pretty bad
>>11720440Is this meant to imply that monstrosity on the right actually looks good?
>>11720440
>>11720440Are you seriously saying that the misshapen abomination on the right is better? For all the CW crap you could have chosen you went for the most terrible barring the Motormaster mold, Dorito Elita and the Volcanicus dinobots are terrible.
Sticking with me turd parties for combiners. You can get either kino all-in-one or something that doesn't look like a mess when it does use extra parts. The only official + upgrade kit I'll go for is Nexus because there is no good way to solve for him with HasTak releases.
>>11720457>>11720461Yes

Posted about this in the last but it got buried by the leaks.86 Astrotrain seems to be directly based on the og toy rather than the animation model in its proportions and kibble management and even the chest piece gimmick. Almost guaranteed the mold has a toy head for a retro style release. But it begs the question of why they put this in SS86 after they said they were going 100% toon with the seekers.
>>11720506The OG toy looks like less of a mess than the new one. That's fucking sad.

Ended up getting an Amalgamus for 35. Don't know if I'll be able to get it cheaper since I don't live in continental USA.
>>11720250I'm getting Bruticus for sure, he looks the best of all the frame combiners so far and each team member is good on his own. Plus Swindle comes with a gun for Onslaught.
>>11720371we're poor, you mook. who can afford 3p or MP? we can't even afford mainline.
>>11720508they're huge on stability now, which is appreciated but.. the fuckers are falling off the shelf no matter what you do
>>117203713P and MP are annoying to transform and have terrible play value and only look good on a shelf. Don't know what legends comes out anymore but those suck. Titans Return legends Seaspray is shit next to modern Seaspray for example
>>11720534Overpaid for the worst figure. Falls apart and doesn't even transform into anything.
speaking of not overpaying, I just got a nicely discounted Razorclaw. I have the upgrade shit coming, so.. should be one more cool guy that i literally cannot fit on my shelf soon.
is this worth it if i only care about Transformers?
>>11720570Not really. The only real benefit is being able to preorder figures an hour early and free shipping, so unless you’re planning to preorder a ton of new figures, it’s not worth it
>>11720570look at how much shipping usually isDo you think you'll buy 50 bucks worth of transformers (in terms of shipping) for a year (the length of time I assume this membership lasts, but do check) ? if so, yes.
>>11720440I hate frameslop as the next guy but no way elita 1 pulling off her best bayverse starscream impression looks better than that.
>>11720570How many TFs a year do you usually buy?
>>11720577I was just curious what they meant about 'discounts'>>11720578true, though I try to buy enough for free shipping but it'd be more lenient>>11720612quite a lot. to be honest.
>>11720618it's probably like 10% during this or that month, nothin hugehonestly the way things are going now, I say just wait for shit to go on sale. I got Razorclaw cheap because his accessories fell to the bottom of the box (unless the seller is lying, at which point I will get my money back) so presumably a MIB collector who didn't want that.
It's good. I kind of wish I'd waited to see if they put out an Ultra Magnus redeco, but nevertheless it's good. There are a handful of things I like more about MP-10 but it delivers.
>>11720577>free shippingI already get free shipping. Hasbro raised prices so much it only takes a couple of figures to be eligible. I'm surprised they haven't raised the order price for free shipping yet.
>>11720274I like the colors but I'd rather get predaking, this guy does look really great though and would match with those g2 color way reissues from a year or two ago.
>>11720561Average 3PMP is $100. Getting one 3P is a far better value than 2 hollow hasbro leaders or a commander. Half the adult fans here have shelves full of shitty hasbro McDonald's toys, if you replaced them with half as many 3P toys they'd be much happier>>11720566There's 3 legends Seasprays and they all shit on Hasbro
>>11720452Not the point.
>>11720681>There's 3 legends Seasprays and they all shit on HasbroThose genuinely don't look any better than the recent Seaspray, or even the old Titans Return one.You probably shouldn't have picked a design as simple as Seaspray to make a comparison.
>>11720681I dont have 100 bucks to spend on individual toys
>>11720697and when I did, I spent them on things as massive as the MPM starscream, the one the same size as the old leader one, back when leader meant BIG.and even that felt a little extravagant.
>>11720697Everyone says this yet they have bookshelves full of deluxes. Average chug shitter spends 10 times the amount that 3P collector would due to the sheer volume of crap they checklist.
>>11720720
>>11720720that is a bit excessive, but the color coordination is kinda neat.I have three shelves of transformers, 14x33 inches each, and one little riser table on two of the shelves, to make extra room (one has instructions under it which I REALLY need to transfer to somewhere else)and they are fucking packed, so I really need more shelfage. But all my other shit takes up so much space too. I need to move. I need a lucrative job.

>>11720759Prime wars isn't modern anymore
>>11720751i actually like copious holes, but it helps when they aren't so big.. i kinda wish zoids went with holes instead of pegs, so they were cleaner-looking sans weapons. They go with roughly 2-3mm most of the time. 5mm leaves BEEG holes.
>>11720765Anon, Prime Wars ended 8 years ago. Modern chug (Studio Series and Siege) is nearly a decade old.

>>11720799Mogged.>Which one?Which ever one you're thinking of.
>>11720723>nothing but live-action movie stuffMovie stuff is the only stuff I'd get 3P for because Studio Series doesn't have the paint or budget to make them look good usually due to their designs. But as far as non-live action stuff goes I mean pretty much everything in AOTP doesn't even have 3P figures of to even get anyway.
>>11720799I don't like CW menasor but I could see why people do. I think CW superion actually looks pretty good but I prefer my AOTP but this... I don't understand why anyone would prefer CW bruticus. Proportions are trash. Individual figures are hot garbage. Colors are godawful. UW bruticus looks better in a lot of ways and shuttle blastoff makes the set have 3/5 passable figures instead of just 2 but.. ough. Just fuck-ugly.(CW defensor is God's gift to transformers though because defensor has always been the best combiner in terms of toys)
>The matrix toy actually plays the touchWelp, guess that's $140 gone. I'm a sucker for toys that play music.... A little disappointed it doesn't play the theme song too though.
>>11720814why the fuck is speaker technology still so bad? The same tinny tiny-speaker bullshit has been with us for like 40 years. Is it a physical limitation on the projection of sound? Because headphones can make okay sound, and they're small. but they can't project it?
>>11720817i cant remember the guy's name, but he made a blaster boombox and he went into detail on how he had to engineer how sound bounces off walls within the boombox so that it to can deliver stronger sound.hasbro probably doesn't give a shit about any sound design whatsoever and just chucked something stupid basic in the matrix
>>11720823well I mean it's not just them. Phones, toys, small electronics, portable speakers, everything.. if it's below a certain size, it seems impossible for the speakers not to sound like absolute shit. People are pouring so much money into phones, and the quality is the same that it was when touch-tone was still new enough that you had to mention it. If the tech is lagging this badly, I have to wonder if we've hit some kind of insurmountable limit.
>>11720814And I'm sure it won't be long before people start modding it to play any song they want
>>11720799I don't care if people cope "durr it needs 3P lol"It is still better than AotP at half the price

Or a Triceratops bot paired with another jeep that turns into Dr. Allen Grantbot. While we're at it, I want more Monster Hunter crossovers - TM2 Megatron as Fatalis, maybe TR Weirdwolf/Carnivac (heavily) retooled into Zinogre, a slight retool of Rathalos Prime and his recolor for a Rathian and Gold Rathian, or some completely new molds to give us popular monsters like Nargacuga, Mizutsune, Tigrex, Yian Kut-ku, and so on.
>>11720920Oh, one more: Rajang Primal, though I have no idea how to handle the horns without partsforming. Really, though, there's a ton of options for crossover monsters, and they chose to go with the most boring one.
>>11720920Mite b cool>>11720923they could retool the transformation to be more like the original primal, though you'd still have to carefully hide the rajang snout I suppose. nothin wrong with partsforming horns though. and the tail could be a weapon!
>>11720900I was a Beast Wars kid but I do appreciate the new stuff they're making for The Movie. Well, the ACTUAL new stuff.
Shield D Prime is a disappointment. It should be named Liger Convoy DX. "Liger" represents Zoid, "Convoy" represents Transformers, specifically Lio Convoy, and "DX" represents Diaclone Crossover.
>>11720799Can we just agree that they BOTH look like shit?
>figure is bad because it is oldThis thing sucks
>>11720950yeah the name is a huge fuckin dump. I will certainly be calling him something else. Actually I haven't decided yet where he goes, I mean maybe on the zoids shelf? the zoid mode is a lot better than the robot mode, as long as you transform the feet properly (though the shoulder and hip pads still look kinda weird)
>>11720957He clearly prioritizes the Shield Liger mode with a cockpit that can fit a Diaclone pilot. I would say it fits well on the Zoids shelf.
>>11720969except the legs really look weird in some places and in some poses, and the liger head is kinda small.. it's odd they didn't scale it up to fit the diaclone pilot, instead they just made more room in the cockpit. The head's the size of a normal SL, while the body is 'roided up. But not to the extent of the tragically flawed AZ ligers, so I'm still gonna be content with it. I mean there's no way I wasn't gonna have the first zoids-transformer crossover... buut.. if not for the fact that I know a guy who knows a guy in Japan and is gonna grab us a bunch at a discount, I would have to say no to the price tag, just as sure as I say no to the 200 dollar 3P movie Grimlock that actually has proper dino anatomy. Just not that rich. Annoying since they did another run of it, but...
>>11720969also it's still fuckin weird to me that they included the transparent nose tab, something which literally no other release or iteration or adaptation or depiction of the Shield Liger has ever used since the original kit. I will just have to mask it off and paint it, just as sure as I do on the kits. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one thinking about logistics like "would a mecha use transparent material for what is obviously sculpted metal panels attached to the cockpit? Would a hinge be made out of glass?"
I am thinking of another round of crossovers that are cheaper and more clever, which basically means minor retools and repaints of existing Legends-scale toys.
Speaking of crossovers, I am surprised they've never done anything with Shinkalion.
>>11720983A Shinkalion crossover could be interesting. By using a Shinkalion base body with Optimus' head, it could serve as an homage to Optimus ExPrime.
>>11720957I wanted him but that pricing was ridiculous and all that extra Diaclone garbage was put on just to pump up that price for a toyline I don't even collect.
>>11720990Post some of your collection.
>>11720697Those ones are about 30-40, here’s what you get for 100And fuck you, Seaspray is great
>>11720988That'd be good fun. I'd love them to do a new version of the JRX with the CTW 3 train combination style.
I have an idea for a Transformers x Brave crossover: taking King ExKaiser and repainting it as Rodimus, with ExKaiser in Hot Rod colors and King ExKaiser in Rodimus Prime colors.
>>11720991I don't collect Diaclone so there's nothing to post.
>>11720995What do you collect? Post it. Post any toy you actually own. You won’t.
>>11720900>Beast Wars Kingdom figures >everything but one Optimus Primal goes on deep clearance >Every UT figure in the last decade>all but Optimus Prime ones go one deep clearance >many are still under their original retail price to buy>miscolored legged and over priced G1 leader Megatron sells out and stays in demanded >the Dinobots that don't even come with all their parts and have questionable transformations/proportions sell very well>Sunstreaker and Sideswipe keep getting released over and over again and sell. >Everything with the fucking seekers for the last ten years Yeah no shit they put all their money into what the drones lap up. I don't like it either but I can't fault them for catering what sells. It's a fucking miracle things like Tasmania kid and Armada Sideways get even get green lit. Seems like the moment it's outside of G1 the market won't buy it.
>>11720999Beast Wars was always a mid show, if I didn't rent a copy of Transformers the Movie while it was airing I'd probably just have drifted away from Transformers completely.
>>11721000Show was fine and it's right for the praise it gets, the reach wasn't the same, however no toy brand can match what was going on in the 1980s. You didn't have access to quality video games and the like so that half hour cartoon commercial really worked and you would be more engaged to what that shit, that started to trickle away the closer and closer we get to 6th gen gaming and that was what started to both drive down and fracture toy sales and "loyalists" I say for every kid that grew up attached to Beast Wars you had 5 kids that were like that in the 80s to shows like Transfomers and MotU.
In defense of frameslop, it's cool that you buy one leader figure and it combines with its trailer to form a super mode, magnus style.I'm still gonna stick with my CW bruticus since brawl looks like the only good figure in the new set
>>11720955Why do people hate this figure so much? Even PvP was taking an endless dump on it. Is it disappointment/over expectations since everyone was all over this thing for so long hyping it up?

I feel like playtime made some of his parts more loose.(by playing i mean pretending like he fighting multiple transformers or stomping - i do that sometimes and it lasts like 5 minutes)I imagine when there will be Bruticus - both of these will end up being loose and with scuffs because i will be sure to make them fight each other!PS:Btw legacy size blokess are AWESOME for representation with combiners.I got just Long Haul and Mixmaster and i want the whole team now. They look like the exact size of Skybound where combiners are ultra gigantic.I wonder when they release galaxy size combaticons blokees...

>>11721018I don't really see what is so outdated about it though and it's remolded enough to the point it looks like a proper earthmode. The articulation and aesthetics seemed to have aged well. Could they do better and make a new mold? Yes but it's not the end of the world.
>>11721025They could easily just release them in a two pack or separate deluxes. Their engineering isn't complicated either, less so than other combiners.
>>11721018Hound is just a bone tossed at Target for exclusive deals but also consider that the teams get excited over engineering challenges over just updating figure. Short of fluff their just isn't much left to do to improve Hound where as Astrotrain they saw a lot more work they could pour into the attempt of Masterpeice light. Keep in mind these efforts that have lead to things like Cosmos getting a whole new mold because they figured out how to do it in three spurs and their attempts at Leo and Big Convoy. Adding to this however Astrotrain has always been more popular than Hound. Hounds always been in that clump of bots that we know exist but most forget he exists.
>>11721033I was going to argue they are too obsessed with what they can redeco the mold into but they are giving us Armada Sideways which has very little room at redco into anything other than Energon Raid Run so that gives the twins a chance.
>>11720751The play value of Transformers is in the transforming. Always has been and always will be. Official stuff, while vastly inferior in quality to 3P, has the benefit of simplicity to where you can idly convert a toy between modes without needing to dedicate time to doing it.
>>11721032>I don't really see what is so outdated about it though and it's remolded enough to the point it looks like a proper earthmode. The articulation and aesthetics seemed to have aged well.that's the thingwhy they did make the new astro-STAIN which is worse than siege one???but they didnt do the new mold for Hound
>>11721034>Hounds always been in that clump of bots that we know exist but most forget he exists.I very much doubt that.>original Diaclone carbot>one of the few with a unique mold>lots of screentime and dialogue early in the cartoon>decent enough role in many recent comicsAny TF fan who knows ball is very familiar with Hound and likely fond of him. >>11721039wait, why are you wanting them to make a worse Hound?
>>11721079Damn you
>>11721042>>lots of screentime and dialogue early in the cartoonHe falls of the cliff after season one. Most want Season 2 stuff and Hound ain't there. He's just not that in demand otherwise he be like the seekers or astrotrain and keep getting made over and over. Fucksakes people lost their shit over exclusive and Shotpacked Cosmos they rolled him into a main line release shortly after that, but the fandoms weren't losing their shit a G1 hound was wrap up with 4 other figures in a just as limited exclusive item. I get you like him but let's be real: no one is even getting excited at the idea of a new Hound. Hell I bet most here are still wanting an easier to get G1 style Prowl over him.
>>11721067>NOOOO you can't just prioritize the figure looking good over the transformation or alt modes!Someone was wondering aloud in the last thread why it seemed like a lot of TF fans don't collect any other toylines. Well, posts like this one nicely show why.
>>11721085>He falls of the cliff after season one.And Prowl doesn't? Prowl doesn't even get any significant screentime or lines, let alone plots, in season 1. And he was supposed to be the second in command. None of it really matters because the franchise (even just G1) is much bigger than just the cartoon and you'd have to be pretty myopic not to see that.>Most want Season 2 stuffAccording to who? All the most loved characters are season 1, even the 1985 toys who showed up early (Dinobots, etc).>He's just not that in demand otherwise he be like the seekers or astrotrain and keep getting made over and over.Uh, he HAS been made over and over.> but the fandoms weren't losing their shit a G1 hound was wrap up with 4 other figures in a just as limited exclusive item. They literally were though, 90% of the people who bought that 5 pack got it just for him.
>>11721096>And Prowl doesn't? Prowl doesn't even get any significant screentime or lines, let alone plots, in season 1.You took the bait, and now understand there is more to demand than screen time. good. That's the path you need to follow here, what people ask for not what "relevance" the fucking thing has. It's who's buying that makes these things happen. >According to who? Sales. Play the games you want but at the end of the day that's what matters, again you are starting to see the bigger picture fighting my points. >90% of the people who bought that 5 pack got it just for him.So then it goes to stand simply re-releasing that mold ensure better sales than wasting time on a new mold when their is still demand for the old one. There ya go, question answered why they made a new Astrotrain but not a new HoundThanks for playing
Bros...i love transformers toys so much...
>>11721099>no no, you see you refuting my stupid arguments means they were ACTUALLY RIGHT!>uh, somehowPeople asked for an Earthmode Hound AND an (alive) Earthmode Prowl. And lo and behold, we're getting them both, so I don't know what retarded point you seem to think you were making.Meanwhile, people were actually NOT asking for a new Astrotrain and most people were happy with the prospect of Siege Train getting re-issued with the battle damage and maybe some greebles scrubbed off. No one asked for Ozempictrain besides maybe a few autists who collect boxes and not figures and needed to see that magic "Studio Series" labelling on it.That latter category of which I can only assume you are a member of.
>>11721105Damn we're pretending both Siege Astrotrain and Legacy Blitzwing are good now? Contrarian General strikes again
>>11721011>>figure is bad because it is old>This thing sucksI think the guy is being sarcastic...As someone who also has that hound- it is fine. Though I don't like the how weak the transformation joints/connections are specially when rest of the body moving joints are still as strong as before.
>>11720784sug my chug
>>11721105>People asked for an Earthmode Hound AND an (alive) Earthmode Prowl. And lo and behold, we're getting them both, so I don't know what retarded point you seem to think you were making.Just have to follow the reply chain, start with >>11721018Also I enjoy clowns like you that claim what the people do and don't want.like you actually talk to anyone.
>>11721093The whole anger over action masters and non-transforming TF toys is so weird to me, because non-transforming versions to be more media accurate or cheaper, are just common with every other mecha franchise. I get the frustration with the US side only having the Action Masters for the last few years besides Micromasters, but the franchise was dying at the time.
>>11720681$40+ Legends scale figures are the stupidest shit ever. no matter how good they are they never feel impressive because small robots just aren't as cool. I'm not paying $90 for a fucking 4-5 inch Optimus.
>>11721157I feel like Transformers is screwed in that aspect because the franchise has the word transform in it, so people are going to expect all figures to transform in some way
>>11721152>like you actually talk to anyone.Nice projection fag, right now I'm talking to a shut-in autist who has no idea what people want or how they talk to each other in the real world. You're in too deep into your little bubble online. Also new Hound is not a recolor of Siege Hound, they share a lot of engineering but he was a new mode. He was supposed to be a Target exclusive years ago until they backed out. Then the mold saw release as Detritus who was widely hated (despite being a perfectly nice figure in his own right) solely because he *wasn't* Hound which would seem to fly in the face of your argument earlier that no one knows who Hound is or cares. Then people went on in the 5-pack mostly just for him.So what have we learned?>Hasbro puts Hound in a 5 pack- BAD!>Hasbro later puts him out as a solo release so people who missed him can get him- ALSO BAD!There is no pleasing you miserable dorks is there?
>>11721113Siege Astrotrain IS much nicer than 86, yes. (especially the DCS version)You can either expect the same out of 86 Blitzwing or he'll just be Legacy re-issued in new colors anyway, take your pick.
