Which way, Transformers fan?Previous:>>11720250
>>11723788holy shit, does the new one look awful
>>11723788All they had to do was smooth out the greebles like they did for Shockwave. But I guess the allure of functioning train wheels was too strong for autistic designers.
Funny, now SS86 Astrotrain won't scale with Blitzwing if it's still the Legacy mold.
>>11723788Siege Astro at least came with a bunch of cool weapons at the cost of being dirty and having a fat loco mode. I think I'm gonna stick with him until I die.
>>11723788It looks like a dollar store toy. And for $60? Genuinely, what were they thinking? This has to be an elaborate scheme to sell an overstock of Dramatic Capture Astrotrains, right?
The average Transformers fan experience
>>11723788Its time for Ejima-san to retire
>>11723822This guy is a retard.
>>11723814It's not that Blitzwing is too short, Astrotrain just has weird proportions. You'll notice both their bodies more or less line up to the shoulders except Astrotrain's head is too high up.
>>11723822That guy is quite literally a braindead redit soigolem who mindlessly shills for and slurps up everythingOf course he's retarded
Starting to think the OP calling everything "slop" is a marketer trying to convince everyone to buy the toys. He's forced it for the last four or five threads now...
>>11723788People are just jealous of Astrotrain because contrary to them he managed to lose weight.
>>11723788So instead of convering like the g1 toy, it has one half be the train and the other half be the shuttle, with a biiiig shell that you fold around to form the other half of eachI mean, it's a cool way to reinvent it, just absolutely dogshit execution
>>11723870Looking at the first pics of the alt modes it was pretty obvious that this was the case. It's neat, shame that the robot mode looks like it does.
>>11723822I don't give a fuck what cunts on twitter are doing fuck off faggot
>>11723792If you haven’t already packed it up because it’s over, feel free to do so now.
>>11723788My Siege Astrotrain can't even stand up so I'll gladly replace it with the one on the left. Won't even sell it because I don't want anyone else getting that stinker.
>>11723788But the coupling rods on the choo-choo mode move! That is its only redeeming feature.
>>11723788>>11723792toonerism is a mental illness
>>11723895I love how a poorly designed toy is because of the cartoonCunt, you’ve seen the cartoon, you know very fucking well this looks nothing like it
>>11723895This does NOT look anything like he did in the movieYou're fucking braindead and trolling
>>11723906Of course he's trolling, he used his meme word again.
>>11723895Based
I’ve been watching Victory since it’s up on YouTube and it bothers me so much when the subs leave in a Japanese phrase and don’t bother explaining what it means. It’s especially bad when you look up the phrase and find out that there’s a perfectly good English translation they could have used. Kisama is a rude way of saying “you” and easily translates as “you scumbag” or “you bastard”. They even have the same number of syllables
>>11723915That’s just how shitty old subs were
>>11723915>>11723918And still manages to be better than the shit subs Hasbro forced them to use in the official release.
>>11723788I can't unsee the miekun meme, bulkier arms would unironically do a lot of heavy lifting for this figure, but my goodness he's so scrawny where he shouldn't be and it just accentuates the other weakpoints. I love the 86 line and think it's the bee's knees but 86 astrotrain is just a laughably (or would be, if I didnt need an astrotrain to the point this just hurts my soul) weak link and let down. Of all the astrotrain toys, this sure is one of them.
>>11723915>Translator Note: Kisama means bastard
>>11723798these are pretty minimal greeblesOh you mean, all they had to do was recycle an existing figure that you like better, and smooth ITS greebles?
>>11723915I hate how modern anime dubs don't do this, during the times when you SHOULD do it.Just because they're overcompensating for this. There's no fucking excuse for having people address each other as "big brother Shouten" etc. We know what a nii-chan is, use it. But don't fucking leave in keikaku.
Now that Paramount won the WB bid. Will we finally get that Transformers X DC crossover?
>>11723788>>11723791>>11723792Fuck it. I'll just rebuy Transportation Captain.
>>11723945Knowing Warner's history, Paramount will own them for like 6 years, do nothing with them, then sell them to the next highest bidder
>>11723915
>>11723936How does this screenshot make you feel
>>11723948>who you calling pinhead
well, that discounted Razorclaw turned out to be missing his forearm gun. Oh well, I'll just ask for a little money back and live with it. I'm sure I can find another suitable gun...
>>11723945There was a batman collaborative leaked like a year ago.
>>11723958Now see that sounds right. Particularly when it's appended to a name. Proper nouns are always excluded from translation, everyone knows that.
>>11723936>>11723970It's crazy how scared of honorifics official subs are
>>11723974It’s because they don’t really exist in English outside of stuff like Mr., Ms., Sir, Ma'am, etc. so they can be hard to translate directly into English without just keeping them unchanged
>>11723915Well, back in the day fansubbers were the opposite of the fags running around today. I'll take extraneous kisamas, nakamas, ah mous, -chans, -kuns, and yare yare dazes over amogus references and trying to own the chuds.
>>11723980It's the same reason sentence enders tend to be ignored completely, because things like that are so uncommon in English they come across more as annoying than anything if they're let in. TFwiki still has a ton of "uuugh these Japanese people are doing Japanese speech THINGS" on a lot of their Beast Wars dub difference pages.
>>11723974Like I said, they're hypercorrecting.Just like how their translations are all way overly literal now, even when it makes no sense, and everything's super sanitized because they've been fed the 'japan doesn't have swears' meme
>>11723962aaaand the replacement hand jumped off the table, hit me in the lap, then hit somewhere on my floor where I can't find it. awesome. This is fantastic.
>wide body tiny armsIs this 86 Astrotrain starman?
>>11723997no because I actually like looking at starman
>>11723934My only real complaint with Siege Astrotrain was the greebles. They make his bot mode look like he was chewed up by a dog. His Titan Returns toy struck a great balance with detail, giving him probably the best looking bot mode of all the modern Astrotrain figures, but both alt modes are kinda awful, and the headmaster gimmick being shoehorned in is annoying.
>>11724022got it. yeah I would like to see recent-but-flawed toys redone with a few tweaks too
