>>11726621TVC March Madness bracket has been released. First round of voting starts Wednesday 3/4. How many of your picks made it into the tournament?
>>11726621is that teen wolf
>>11726628I did n_n
>>11726624seems like it's mostly the usual suspects
>>11726624Oh boy can't wait for more clones and trash
Don’t feel like worldbuilding and armybuilding with TVC anymore at $20 per fig so I’ve gone back to black series
>>11726804Cool. What cereal did you eat this morning?
>>11726804Black series isn't in a better state. But it is really disgusting seeing the two side by side costing the same. TVC is on the way out. People won't, can't, support $20 a pop.
>>11726862>People won't, can't, support $X a pop.If I had a dollar for every time I heard this statement over the years, I could easily afford it
>>11726804Funny. I went back to TVC for army and worldbuilding because it's easier to afford them than Black Series. Even at $20 a figure, that's still cheaper than other 1:18 lines I buy.
>Next year will be the 50th anniversary of A New Hope & Star Wars as a series proper>Figures that used to cost less than 10 bucks now cost 20I am kinda envious of the older millenial/younger Gen X. I would've bought so much shit during the 20th anniversary. Now this shit is too damn expensive for cheap plastic made in China. Good luck getting something like picrel for less than 75 dollars nowadays
>>11727083battlepacks were so kino. it was like $20 for four often unique figures
>>11726888for that price point though you'd figure they'd be forced to make slave leia or kruhk or something people really want
>>11727083>>11727094It was a golden age for 1:18 collectors. You could also get battle packs of GI Joes at a similar price point. Mid-sized vehicles in the 15 to 25 dollar range. Now a Advanced TIE going for over $100.
>>1172708330th Anniversary and Saga Legends was THE golden age to collect Star Wars, but a lot of those figures were far, far from perfect. Character choice was insane but we had to deal with shit like swivel cut elbows and Jedi having swivel hips with no ankle joints. Meanwhile the Joes next to them in the aisle had way more going for them for the same price. It used to always sting when I'd come home with figures from each line and despite being way more excited for the Star Wars stuff I grabbed, the Joe figures were just so much more fun to actually play with. There's a reason why so many people want redos of past figures done in current TVC standards.
>>11727158And it's not even painted and missing important decals pictured on the box.
>>117266218 more months until we get him and Labria.'ckin ell, what a wait.
Jesus Christ, was smoking space meth part of Vader's training?
>>11728057Say no to midichlorians
Darth Talon is now an 80s aerobics instructor lol
>>11728064That's pretty awful. Here's hoping she looks more like this by the end of Shadow Lord.
>>11728064You really should be getting this level of of sculpt and engineering/articulation at that price point. I honestly don't get how collectors settle for such shit.
>>11728109Everyone hates that Chun Li though
>>11728118
Fucking finally
>>11728064>an 80s aerobics instructorGoddamn even Olivia Newton-John had more sex appeal than this>me on the right btw
>>11728064I hate Star Wars so much now. Holy fuck.
>>11728216Why are they on the holodeck?
>>11728225Why is this so offensive to you? It just looks like a Twi'lek in casual clothing
>>11728291>Twi'lek in casual clothingWhere's the boob window?Where's the sexiness?Twi'lek don't wear normal cloths, anon.
>>11728294Adult ones sure. But I believe she's supposed to be a teenager, like Mission Vao.
Please let him get a figure
>>11728340Yakface says he's coming to Black Series but I hope TVC gets him too.
>>11728291Because for ~$25 I should be getting this.
>>11728384It's okay, now that all the tariffs are being reversed all of the major corporations will surely lower their prices back to pre-tariff levels! This is happening any day now!
>>11728340Not happening, sorry. Best Hasbro can do is Sigourney Weaver and random black character nobody wanted shelf-warming until the line dies.
>>11728384Why shilling that brand so hard not to mention all the hand posing
>>11728148those soft skirts pieces are really that soft?
>>11728340Amazing that they managed to fuck up the look of a hutt
>>11728321>But I believe she's supposed to be a teenager...so why no sexy clothes?
>>11728384cringe af
>>11728504Some guy thinks he's sticking it to Hasbro or something by shilling stuff like Storm and Jada. It's really weird.
>>11728557How did they fuck it up?
>>11728242Can't do that on Earth. You need to disengage all safety protocols.
>>11728340>Hutt warriorWhy would a Hedonist.bot slug race engage in physical combat? From what we see I don't even know if they have real muscles, they are barely able to move around aaaaaaaaaah ffs fuck this shit.
>>11728760It's an interesting idea, just not sure how they would get around the lack of mobility. I think there was a hutt jedi in EU
>>11728778There was and apparently Leia killed him by just walking behind him and cutting him in half because he was too fucking slow to actually fight with a lightsaber.
>>11728760Idk I quite like it. Honestly I've always thought it's kind of dumb that the the whole Hutt species is basically disabled/can't do anything themselves. How would members of their species come to lead criminal empires if they're all totally weak/physically powerless?I think it would sense that on their home planet, which is basically a swamp, the average Hutt is top of the food chain, an apex predator. It would also make perfect sense if all the Hutts we see are basically just old and fat, and their immobility is as representive of the Hutt species as an old mob boss would be of the human race.
A decent find at Ross (on baseline and cedar, for you fellow IE fags :p they had like 2 or 3 more there).Show is shit, but it's a decent figure, for $5.
>>11728760BWEEP BWEEP! FAKE FAN ALERT! BWEEP BWEEP! FAKE FAN ALERT!A Hutt that fights is not a new concept. Even in Disney's canon, there's been Grakkus the Hutt who was shredded. Most of the Hutts we see are the old ones who sit at the top. Jabba was over 600 years old when he died. Rotta isn't even 40 by the time of this movie.
Results for the first round of TVC March Madness. Not surprising that Luthen dominated. I'm hoping he doesn't win though. Not because I don't want him made, but he already won LFS and was the number one seed for this. I think the message is pretty clear.
>>11728886I hate Anbore slop so much so sick of seeing that ollies pegwarmer on this shit every time
>>11728871>Even in Disney's canonAnyone that consider's anything Disney as "canon" is the real fake fan.
>>11728886Why the fuck are people wasting a potential figure slot on some old fuck? Hasn't every figure from andor been a peg warmer?Who the fuck wants anything from sequel trilogy!? Kylo Ren is the ONLY one that should ever be considered, and that can get knocked out with one figure! It should be boskk and frog lady, for sure.
Hasbro where is our black series Darth Plegueis? stop doing shitty characters nobody want.
>>11728965A-fucking-men to that
>>11727083Whats the name of the clone soldier in purple next to commander Bacara? We need a black series of that one and pic.
Can some one put those 3 in a pic so I can post it eventually so Hasbro move their asses and make a fucking black series of those 3. There I saved your franchise.Darth PlegueisKashyyk soldier And the purple one next to Bacara
>>11728965How to spot a retard... he has always a kgaylo ren fig.
>>11729158You should try to speak English
>>11729172And should shovel a cheese burger in your ass faggot.
>>11729108If Hasbro made Plagueis they'd base him upon his appearance in the acolyte, not the EU.
>>11729188Yech. Better we don't get one at all then.
>>11729191You understand.
>>11729150It's a Galactic Marine
>>11728965And anyone who acts like everything from the EU was gold is just as much of a fake fan.
>>11729233Nah, they're more of a fan than you are.
>>11729235I only consider the six movies George made as canon, so I don't care.
>>11729233I've heard this a lot but literally everything I ever saw from the EU was badass. Shadows of the Empire? Great. Crimson Empire? Fantastic. All the dark horse clone wars comics with ashared hett and durge and shit? Badass. Heir to the Empire? Iconic in it's own right. Even the things I didn't spend much time on had logline plots that sounded good. The NJO with an enemy so dangerous the remnants of the empire and the heroes had to team up with stakes so high that major deaths started to happen? That's a good idea. That sounds badass. SW Legacy with a massive timeskip and the heir to the skywalker legacy being some shitheap space pirate who wants nothing to do with it? That's cool. I don't know (or care) how people really view these storylines and how successful or praised or hated they were, but I do know that just their very inception point sounds good. When you give a 2 sentence description of the sequel trilogy and the plots surrounding it a go, it's fucking laughably bad. The great thing about the EU was how everything fit together, and even though I didn't go through all of it, or even half of it, I knew that things slotted together relatively nicely and that there was always another tale happening just before or just after, that a bit character might have another story with more to do, there was always context waiting for you if you wanted to seek it out.
>>11726862Bold of you to think I'd support 1/12 garbage at any price. Star Wars is a 1/18 toyline, period. You could unload SW Black trash on me at $1 each and I wouldn't be buying it.
>>11729247No one gives a shit about your dead scale from yesteryear. Move on.
>>11729249Remind us again of how many successful Black Series HasLabs there are
>>11729246>The great thing about the EU was how everything fit together, and even though I didn't go through all of itThe really insane thing about it is that George didn't give a single a fuck, so it fit together as cohesively as it did because of what was a essentially an honor system between writers. I've been going through all of Timothy Zahn's EU work and the X-Wing books, which reference each other all the time for no real reason other than that creatives involved respected and enjoyed each other's work.
the eu was straight up held together by duct tapethey had a guy whose entire job was sorting through the contradictions and trying to apply retcons to make things fitlike 6 different times he had to invent a new character just to explain why some characters had multiple deathsit's insane seeing people now try to claim it was some cohesive work that all fit together neatly
>>11729342I do remember Spar existing as a clone trooper impersonating Boba Fett specifically because so much of Boba's history contradicted itself
>>11729239But RO is still good.
>>11729188What would be the difference besides what it says on the box?
>>11729342You are straight up a wrong asshole
>>11728064>>11728072Hopefully. I'm certainly not buying that pink one. Sex appeal aside, the color scheme just makes it an eyesore of a figure.
>>11729256The rancor was set up to fail. It had no paint apps and less articulation than the vintage one.
>>11729256Why do scale war fags think this is some kind of gotcha? Figures are the main indicator of line health and TVC sore losers are nonstop crying and pissing their adult diapers about not getting what black series gets.
>>11729246Yeah, star wars used to be amazing due to its tight canon; read this super niche comic about shit glorbo with your happy meal back in '98? It's valid! Really let fans know that their time and passion mattered.Whoops, Disney deleted it all, until they can pilfer it for a cheap 'member berry... :/>>11728965Yeah, because even if Disney's "new" canon WAS good, it was still a huge fuck you to fans that learned and loved old EU.As it stands, Disney canon is both shit, AND invalid, as it regularly contradicts itself.
>>11729345I'm an old EU boy and I think RO and Andor are great in part because they feel like live action versions of a Star Wars book or series I would have read in the 90s or early 2000s.
>>11729479>RO and Andor are great in part because they feel like live action versions of a Star Wars book or series I would have read in the 90s or early 2000sThey absolutely do not.
>>11729481Nah, they both had original stories with original characters that revealed cool things about the mechanics of the Star Wars universe, just like the EU did at its best. Also, Disney's version of how the Rebellion formed is better. The story of both Force Unleashed game sucked ass it's the only thing I'm glad isn't canon anymore.
>>11729489>Anbore>revealed cool things about the mechanics of the Star Wars universelol just lol
>>11729489Disney hasn't done anything of the sort
This will make for a cool ass figure
>>11729570No it won't
>>11729574I don't like poopooing on others excitement, but I have to agree; guy literally only has arms to articulate. Head will probably get a swivel, which is kinda fair, but if it could at least get a ball joint to be able to turn even just a little up and down. Pipedream would be an articulated jay so he could open and close his mouth.Absolutely no way they articulate the tail, so kinda very limited as a toy can even go....Looks grim :/
>>11729570Him and Embo are the ones I'm really excited to get figures for
>>11729589but what if he's made of bendy foam?
>>11729592Then he’ll tear after a few months
>>11729589Why does every figure need to be hyper posable?
Hope you nerf herders brought your cortosis. You're gonna need all of it.
>>11729391EU
>>11729657Shitcolyte
>>11728871I only watch the movies, anything else is fanfic
>>11729658
>>11729345Popping RO in after finishing Andor was major whiplash. The same quality just wasn't there. The end battle was still pretty good though, I'll give it that.
>>11729592That's a whole other bag of... Slugs (>>11729621)>>11729634"Hyper"? With as big and wide as his head is, a simple hinge mouth is not a crazy ask. What I'm asking for would amount to; ball joint head, hinge mouth, swivel and hinge shoulder, swivel and hinge elbows, swivel and hinge wrists, ball joint ribs. Again, he's a chonky boi, so these standard TVC/BS joints are VERY doable (even the mouth at 1:18 scale).I am not delusional enough to believe that they would articulate the slug lower half, nor can I even really see any way to that doesn't require what almost no other figure maker has done. And even if I got my "hyper" articulated hutt, it's still not guaranteed to make for a "cool ass figure", as the base design is very limited.
This week's haul.Padmé being $20 was super rough, and I could only justify it because I got the other two for only $5 each.Only got the cheaper ones because they still make for decent figures, even if I don't care about their respective shows.Has anybody else gotten any really good pickups or finds?
>>11728216 That's how you make Gatoraid. you filter the sweat from fatties and bottle it.
>>11729713I love that Padme. The $19 was worth it imo. She blows every previous version out of the water. Can't wait for a retooled Arena version. Zeb is also an amazing figure, so you were smart to get that and at a discounted price is great. I would buy another one of him if I found him for cheap without any hesitation.Besides that Padme, my only other recent pickup has been the new Shaak Ti and then I found the Genndy CW version of Barriss going for $6 on Amazon, so I figured I should pick her up. She's not a great figure compared to the new stuff, but I never had her or Luminara and they'd be good to have for this year's Geonosis theme. I also like her purple costume more compared to the black version since it compliments her green skin well.
*angry Sith noises*
I hate SWTOR, but black series Malgus is still a great figure.
>>11729719
>>11729672
>>11729692To be fair the quality of Andor is a very VERY high bar and nothing is likely to ever reach it or even come close. It's the greatest television series ever made period. Perhaps even the greatest piece of human art ever made. I'm so grateful for the genius that is Tony Gilroy and so happy I got to witness the absolute cinema that is Star Wars Andor in my lifetime. I really don't understand the hate for it. I think anyone that doesn't appreciate the masterclass in storytelling that is Andor is just lacking in media literacy or maybe they have a low IQ so they need childish things like lightsabers and explosions to keep their attention. I'm glad my IQ is high enough to truly appreciate the masterpiece that is Andor.
>>11729570I wasn't sold on Swole Rotta but I'm coming around to it

Are the EU Dark Troopers a possibility? I really want them and Kyle Katarn gave me hope.
>>11730594Not entirely out of the question but I wouldn't count on them getting too deep into any EU stuff. As it is I'm honestly not sure if we'll get anyone from the Dark Forces games besides Kyle.
>>11728827being more technologically advanced than others or having amassed enough wealth to pay off other species to do their dirty work for them. you don't get to the top of a criminal empire by being the physically strongest, but by being the smartest or most cutthroat, which hutts definitely seem to be.
>>11729246I think when people mention the eu in a negative way they have this idea that silly shit like han solo fighting a giant mongoose or that green rabbit guy, that I think they actually did make a figure of, was most of it instead of what it actually was.
>>11730097Yeah, lol... Anakin and Ahsoka should have let this fucker die as a slug baby.

>>11730376>>11730538>>11730543NTA but id much rather take mandalorian and grogu over pretentious slop like andor. Star wars should be filled with cool glup shitto aliens and action not boring drama about bland humans in brown bomber jackets.
>>11730704>No UTypical bot reply. I think it's safe to assume these are all AI chat bots.
>>11730594I guess it depends how many more years black series will continue and how many more years Disney will fail to make good media with toyetic characters. Last year or two, Hasbro didn't have much to make from new media so they made some nice EU figures. If gaps like that occur again we could see more cool things.>>11730707Based and correct true Star Wars fan take

>>11730746I genuinely appreicate it dude, thank you>>11730752Andor fags arent true star wars fans. Tony gilroy is a faggot who is ashamed of the source material and thats why andor is barely even star wars except in name only
>>11730752Yes but you can still acknowledge there are different levels of Disney garbage and one is more preferable if you have to choose. Mando Grogu slop is infinitely better and more Star Wars than a guy in a jacket monologuing and eating Trix cereal in his apartment in London, I mean """Corsuscant""".>>11730753Gilroy disgusts me. His handling of Star Wars is no different than Rian Johnson, maybe even worse actually. Because Gilroy clearly had no intention to make Star Wars. He wanted to make some sci fi thing with a political commentary but instead of just creating his own IP, he hijacked Star Wars to use as his vehicle. If it weren't for the prop and costume makers inserting things into the background or the story group inserting words into the script, Anbore would be completely unrecognizable as Star Wars. Though it already almost is because the production team clearly got no instruction from the director to incorporate more Star Wars elements. Favreau and Filoni on the other hand are at least nerds who will tell the prop department to make a Relby-V10 instead of just using an AK-47. If Anbore was an original IP, I might have actually liked it because Gilroy is a decent filmmaker and has made other good stuff but I am disgusted by how it pretends to be Star Wars to take advantage of the brand recognition and how fake fans praise it when it is the antithesis of the thing they supposedly love.
>>11730759>Because Gilroy clearly had no intention to make Star Wars. He wanted to make some sci fi thing with a political commentary but instead of just creating his own IP, he hijacked Star Wars to use as his vehicle. Thats my main gripe too. And i have absolutely no interest in his boring ass story either. He clearly hates the franchise just rian did but to play devils advocate for a second at least rian didnt out right hate all the aspects that made star wars sci fi. Gilroy is one of those obnoxious pretentious fucking redditor typed who hates anything seen as far fetched or outlandish or its too "sillly" or "campy" hence no aliens or robots or whimsy of any kind-just bland boring humans with cardboard personalities.
>>11730759>If Anbore was an original IP, I might have actually liked itNah not me, i hate sci fi thats ashamed of the genre. All that "muh realism" sci fi like the expanse or firefly is fucking dogshit in my eyes. Also the rebellion is both the most boring faction in star wars and also unfortunately the most overhyped faction since the disney buyout cuz the people writing these pieces of shit love to larp as "le resistance" even tho ironically theyve caused in uptick in IRL fascism by being so fucking obnoxious with their SJW feminist shit that people voted for unironic tyrants out of spite against them.
>>11730773i feel the same about the gay realism but season 1 had those big weird aliens when he got out of the prison that were fun to see, season 2 didn't do enough of that
>>11730706Because Hasbro pays attention to them and have said multiple times they use these as data points to judge community wants when they're planning future offerings. And they have made 4 out of the 6 winners so far as well as 60 other figures that have made the brackets several times.
>>11730813They really don't
>>11730812>but season 1 had those big weird aliens when he got out of the prison that were fun to seeI didnt watch enough of the show to see that, fuck andor but good on them for that at least>>11730813>Because Hasbro pays attention to them and have said multiple times they use these as data points to judge community wants when they're planning future offerings. >>11729940Is this some Sabine variation?
>>11730551It's the source of all my problems>>11730364Hello my fellow Star Wars™ fan
>>11730759What gets me about Andor is that it's not even that good on its own. Its political messaging as just as unsubtle as the movies but because there's no goofy aliens people think it's deep. Half the show is Cassian staring off into nothing while "contemplative music" plays (yes that is what the closed captioning calls it). How does he make a group that parallels the WW2 French Resistance? Dress them like WW2 French Resistance and have them speak pseudo-French. Gilroy couldn't even resolve the key motivation Cassian had in the first place, his mom tells him to forget about searching for his sister and he just kind of does and it's never brought up again. He made up some crap about how appropriate it was for Cassian's development that he never found that resolution but hey, write that into the show instead of talking about it in an interview after you realized you completely forgot about it you fucking hack. He wrote the Empire doing all kinds of desperate things to find Cassian because they were too stupid to realize he was already in their custody, and people argued that this was meant to portray the bureaucratic failures of the Empire (which the show otherwise portrays as cunning and efficient) instead of just recognizing it as bad writing.
>>11730901Honestly I don't think Gilroy even wanted to have Cassian Andor on the show at all. Half the time he barely feels like he's on the show, it's real Luthen Rael and Mon Mothma who are the actual protagonists. Cassian feels like he's just shoved into the show out of obligation rather than because he's truly integral to it.I feel like he almost had something with Luthen. He has this big monologue about how he's sacrifice everything and it works because Luthen is a mystery and the show avoids getting into his backstory and motivation. Stellan Skarsgard puts so much emotional weight into it that even if the audience has no idea what he might be thinking about it's clear that Luthen really did give up a lot for this and he carries the weight of that but knows he has to bury it and keep moving forward. Then they show his backstory and he's just an ex-Imperial who went "ugh this isn't what I signed up for" and that's it. No personal stake of any kind, no actual sacrifice made. Just completely deflates the character.
>>11730821>>11730827They have said it several times in Q+A's and the design team members show up in the chats of the livestreams for both March Madness and Last Figure Standing. Here is Emily talking about it when she was on the team>https://youtu.be/ELhihvE5FRM?si=2bWHv2QBLAbevEVv

>>11730931Not Dark Horse themselves, she was created for a set of TCW episodes that were never produced but were adapted into DH comics. So yes, Rook Kast is a pre-Disney character.
>>11730940Losing that season has always felt like a double edged sword. Missed out on some interesting storylines, but certain characters got an extended lease on life as a result.
>>11730951I still hope they'll adapt Son of Dathomir as like a special presentation or something. I know they're trying to consider TCW finished but I'd rather they go back and resurrect the unfinished episodes instead of the Tales Of shit that just keeps getting blander and blander.
>>11730901I kept seeing people everywhere talking about how good and amazing the show is and just kept wondering if we were watching the same show, if like some HBO prestige show had done the same shit people would be savaging it, are people really just that dazzled by the idea of a "serious" Star Wars show that they just ignore all of its problems?
>>11730934Yeah but Jabba always look stoned and is clearly an hedonist. Little Jabba here is a gladiator of some kind, he looks zesty with the whole fierce pose.
>>11730955Something I found weird about season 7 arcs is it seems like they remade them from scratch because they are different from the unfinished "reels" they released years ago and from other various plot leaks floating around at the time of the cancellation. Maybe it was a legal thing that made them have to be done again? But if Son of Dathomir or any of the other unfinished arcs were made, I imagine they would be a lamer versions with more glup shitto cameos and elements tying into the sequels or mando.>>11730990Well much like the narrative created around the sequels which was if you dislike them, you are sexist, the narrative for Andor is if you dislike it, you are low IQ. So people want to be seen as smart, cultured, "media literate", etc. so they like Andor and suddenly the Star Wars they loved before with lightsabers and action is now childish and bad. Then there's the other side which is shills who just love everything. They praised Andor for being so highbrow when months prior, they were praising actual trash like Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi. They will consoom all slop with the Star Wars name and never criticize it because all Star Wars is good to them.
>>11729570This is so fucking stupid. Hutts are supposed to be immobile, who the fuck things it's a good idea to have one that can get up and fucking fight like a gladiator?
Why do you come here to bitch about Star Wars if you don't actually like Star Wars. The fake fan shit is so weird. It's clear the guys crying don't even like Star Wars.
>>11731037Why do you let Disney shit in your mouth all the time?
>>11731041Brother, you've regularly sperged out at things that weren't even Disney. You don't even know who just a guy with a lightsaber is. Imagine doing this for a franchise you don't even really like. Pathetic.
>>11731047If you defend Disney you're not a true fan. I don't know why this is so hard for you to understand.
>>11731044>You don't even know who just a guy with a lightsaber isYou having a stroke? You're not much of a fan for gobbling up urine soaked leftovers just because it has a name attached to it.
>>11731009>Well much like the narrative created around the sequels which was if you dislike them, you are sexist, the narrative for Andor is if you dislike it, you are low IQ. So people want to be seen as smart, cultured, "media literate", etc. so they like Andor and suddenly the Star Wars they loved before with lightsabers and action is now childish and bad. I have gotten into SO many arguments with retards about this on my old instagram account before i deleted it. Its absolute insane how succesfully disney psy-op'd zoomers and gen-x burn outs into think andor sloppa is peak fiction. They all like pseudo intellectual arm chair critic douches and are absolutely fake fans of the franchise. In many ways andor ruined star wars even more then the last jedi has, feminists raped star wats the first time but normalfaggots shit taste in pretentious prestige drama shit as the final blow that killed it.
>>11731026>Hutts are supposed to be immobilesince fucking when
I'm reminded of the time Gina Carano got fired and all the dudes who had screamed about how her character was a feminist mary sue were suddenly claiming to be huge fans of hers and insisting Disney will crumble without their support and half of them couldn't even get her name right
>>11731093Yeah that was stupid, honestly imo gina carano was still an idiot but those grifter faggots will die on any culture war battlefield even when it doesnt make sense. Take the little mermaid movie for example, youd think the raceswap shit would be like giving women a taste of their own medicine as how feminists ruined star wars now disney fucked with one of their franchises but then you had a bunch of neckbeards being mad about it even though i cant imagine any one of them giving a rats ass about that shitty movie to begin with before the reboots controversy.
>>11731098I remember when they did the She-ra reboot a few years ago people would just come out of the woodwork swearing they were longtime hardcore She-ra fans and how offended they were that their favorite cartoon was defiled in the name of feminism or whatever and it was the most artificial shit, I didn't even watch either version of the show and I couldn't escape seeing these people bitch and cry about something they clearly didn't even care about all in the name of their culture war obsession
>>11731083Exactly my point. Lil bro doesn't even know who I'm talking about.
>>11731103Yeah that was obnoxious as fuck, as a /co/ user i will say as literal bat shit insane the showrunner for that show is the show wasnt all that bad and alot of good waifus and porn of said waifus was spawned from itAlso the toys are ridiculously expensive now too
>>11731126Damn that's a lot of money for such a shitty toy. Also I hated how they clearly had She-ra as a boy in girl's clothes and pretended everybody else was in the wrong for calling out that shit.
>>11731140I literally do not care about She-ra dude
>>11731137>Also I hated how they clearly had She-ra as a boy in girl's clothes and pretended everybody else was in the wrong for calling out that shit.Fun fact-the creator is a rabid man hating dyke feminist with intense penis envy who wrote the most unhinged blogposts you could think of and its very clear she omitted adoras breasts as a extension of her own dysphoria to her own boobies which yes-she eventually lopped off.Its honestly astounding the show managed to be as good as it was considering who was in charge of it>>11731140>muh groomersKill yourself, youre just as cancerous as the feminist cunts who think a ten year age gap between consenting adults is "literally rape!!"
>>11731114Okay, you're being a fucktard.
>>11731153At least I'm not some weirdo getting fake outraged over something I'm not even actually a fan of. Freak.
>>11731147>>11731155This is the kind of xher that Disney fans want in charge of Star Wars
>>11731200You're projecting so hard
>>11731037Or if you like one aspect of modern Star Wars, you're automatically a Disney shill. There is no nuance anymore. It's exhausting.
>>11731223It's the truth. Nobody with any taste could say they like Disney NuSlop, so you either have no taste or you're being paid to promote them.
>>11731223If you like modern Star Wars it's pretty clear that you've given up any actual want for good Star Wars. The fandom is dying because you cede ground.
>>11731227>>11731231Thanks for proving the point
I'm going to watch Mandalorian & Grogu, might be good, might be ass. There's nothing you can do to stop me.
>>11731236Based
>>11731236That's fine, you'll forever be made fun of for being a dumb piece of shit in the fandom. Lotta stupid people got us to where we are in the world, good to see you're one of them.
>>11731248That fandom are the same stupid people that gave Lucas so much shit he decided to sell the IP to Disney and got us here.
>>11731253It's so funny that the same people that shat on him for decades are now pretending they always loved him
>>11731256The prequels were pretty bad, but they at least came from a place of Lucas actually wanting to tell a story. I mean, there is a compelling story there, the rise of Anakin Skywalker, and his tragic fall to Darth Vader, one of the most iconic villains not only in cinema history, but in probably all of fiction. The problem is, when making the OT, Lucas had people to rein him in, and tell him when his ideas were kinda dumb, and there was a better way to do shit. He was surrounded by peers who weren't afraid to tell him when something was a shit idea. When the 90's came around, Lucas was surrounded by people who were star-struck by this supposed legend and by that point he had a big head and ego, so anyone who challenged him was just fired or ran out of the room, so no one wanted to tell him his ideas were shit, or there was a better way to do things. The writing was awful in the prequels, but at the very least it created some great visuals and worlds, and some neat and memorable places and aliens and other stuff. Yeah, he probably went way to far with some of the visual effects, but again it was just Lucas waving his dick with his effects studio. Most of the backlash came from the garbage writing, and altering the OT with shitty new visuals and changing shit. When Disney got their hands on the franchise, they played it safe with TFA, since all they had to do was "not do the Prequels again" and they put out a bog-standard, safe borderline retread of ANH. And yet somehow, they managed to crater the IP after a movie that was maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10. They had no actual plans for the new trilogy, they booted out Lucas and his ideas almost immediately, and then they started nostalgia-baiting hard with all the TC shows and 'memberberry walk-on cameos and shit. And they forced shitty new characters almost no one cared about because they have zero understanding of what made the OT, or hell, even the PT work.
>>11731267I don't think anyone's faulting people for not liking the Disney era, and I don't think even the people who like some parts of it are really defending Disney as a whole. The problem is it gets tiresome to have people who come here purely to accuse people of being Disney shills, who see a picture of a figure shelf with a single Disney-era character (or sometimes even a TCW character that they don't realize isn't Disney) and throw a fit over it. We all know Disney dropped the ball, we don't need people screaming about it day in, day out. A lot of the rampant screeching about Disney started with TLJ and we're coming up on a decade of it. It's just become so tiresome.
>>11731332>A lot of the rampant screeching about Disney started with TLJ and we're coming up on a decade of it. It's just become so tiresome.Jesus fucking christ, why the hell didnt the culture war shit stay in the 2010s where it belonged? Why did it have to bleed into the 2020s to make this decade into the 2010s 2.0? Will this cancer era ever fucking end already, what will finally kill it and end the shit flinging and performative moralfaggotry?
>>11731334>what will finally kill it and end the shit flinging and performative moralfaggotry?WW3's coming up, hopefully we'll all perish and be free
>>11731236Same. Haven't seen a Star Wars movie in theaters since Rogue One, so I'm looking forward to it. Already ordered all the toys from it for TVC as well. Even if the movie sucks at least those will be good.
>>11731332>I don't think anyone's faulting people for not liking the Disney era, and I don't think even the people who like some parts of it are really defending Disney as a wholeI hated TLJ when it came out and I still think it's the worst Star Wars movie ever made. That said, I think the people shitting on any SW content put out by Disney are obnoxious as fuck. Most of it isn't to my taste either, but I still liked seasons 1 and 2 of Mando, RO and Andor and Clone Wars S7. Timothy Zahn wrote two excellent new trilogies about Thrawn too that, references to the current canon or not, feel like they fit very neatly as the origin he always had in mind for the character in the EU. And again, most of what Disney puts out is low effort slop, but I'm also not going to pretend there's nothing of value there period. You take the good with the bad (even if there's more of the latter than the former right now).>The problem is it gets tiresome to have people who come here purely to accuse people of being Disney shillsThis is why I'm way less active in this general compared to others. I don't even disagree with most of their criticisms, it just gets really annoying to listen to them screech autistically whenever anyone tries to discuss this stuff in a way that isn't as negative as fucking possible
>>11731342>WW3's coming up, hopefully we'll all perish and be freeThis timeline is so irreversible fucked and cursed that nuking america would be consider mercy to me at this point
>>11731236Im watching it too. All the glup shittos look awesome unironically and i loved the first two seasons of mandalorian still>>11731348I wanna get the action figure of that guy that was on the holodeck chess board in ANH who is now showing up as an actual character>>11731353I mostly agree, i too hate TLJ and hate disney but i do also like the mandalorian for the most part and it is tiring when ever people dunk on you for liking anything star wars made by disney. But my hatred for disney reach far more then just star wars as i feel theyve ruined alot about animation and sabotaged alot of their animated projects for shitty reasons as well too but that's more of a /co/ discussion. As much as i hated andor i did very much enjoy skeleton crew, a shame no one else watched it.
>>11731392>As much as i hated andor i did very much enjoy skeleton crew, a shame no one else watched it.I did and I actually liked it more than I thought I would too. Just a fun little space adventure, which is really all I want from Mando and Grogu too. Also, that scene where Jude Law is swinging around the blue saber while threatening to kill the kids' parents really made me wish they'd drop George's stupid fucking rule about red lightsabers being mandatory for all dark siders. Black and red are always cool, but I feel like the franchise really needs some more diversity within the color palette of evil after nearly 50 years.
>>11731398>Also, that scene where Jude Law is swinging around the blue saber while threatening to kill the kids' parents really made me wish they'd drop George's stupid fucking rule about red lightsabers being mandatory for all dark siders. Black and red are always cool, but I feel like the franchise really needs some more diversity within the color palette of evil after nearly 50 years.Oh youre absolutely right, honestly force shit and jedi are really boring to me thats why i loved jude laws character because he was a force user that was actually interesting and fun as a character-because mainly in part that he was an irredeemable piece of shit too but i digress.
>>11731398Skeleton Crew was crap, and thankfully everyone forgot it existed after the first week. The toys were instant clearance crap.
>>11731334
>>11731430The fact that this living embodiment of a basedjack is still alive and well and wasnt picked off by a disgruntled star wars fan years ago is one of my 13 reasons why
>>11731392Mando went bad after the first season. And the fact that the shitty money maker is back is proof that the show took a nosedive and fast.
>>11731439I liked the second season, third season mostly sucked. Im hoping the movie is at least fun
>>11731430Also wanna check back and say i keep rewatching this clip over and over again fuming at how fucking dopey this shit eating redditor acts. How does this literal cartoon stereotype of a nu male exist in real life? Its inhuman
>>11731445The ironic thing is you probably look just like, if not worse than he does. Post your fat rolls and comb over.
>>11731451Im not balding and i dont have copious amounts of male feminist estrounaut energy in my system like rian johnson does
>>11731453Sure.
>>11731445What I still think is funny is on the special features he whines about Russian Bots being behind thr negative comments about the movie. That's in the special features doc. Not "ohhh wow making a movie is magical, check out the movie magic guys!" No, it's "all the hate was fake, see?"
>>11731466>What I still think is funny is on the special features he whines about Russian Bots being behind thr negative comments about the movie.Really? Is there a clip of this online per chance? Because i would LOVE to see that little fart sniffer flinch over the hate on screen. He always looked so smug in interviews i always wanted to see him look uncomfortable or indignant about all the criticism he got over his shit flick.
>>11731392>I wanna get the action figure of that guy that was on the holodeck chess board in ANH who is now showing up as an actual characterMe too. I actually think a HasLab with all of those guys would be great but I doubt that'll happen. At the very least, I hope they make the Mantellian Savrip.
man I hope well get a vintage collection prequel Palpatine
>>11731654>At the very least, I hope they make the Mantellian Savrip. With how much hes in the trailer its practically a gaurentee. Ive genuinelly wanted him as a toy since i first saw star wars when i was a toddler and i am so happy he is getting a figure this year hopefully.
>>11731661>he thinks there'll be figures of things from the movie that aren't more repacks and weak retoolslolololol
>>11731872For black series there will be yeah. Not for TVC though
Amazon leaked this TVC Deluxe Baze Malbus
>>11731945>deluxe
>>11731950You should know by now deluxe doesn’t mean anything except higher price and there will always be a handful of random deluxe figures per year
>>11731945Really bad idea selling him as a deluxe, he's not popular enough to justify the price and "people will want to complete the team" will only go so far
>>11726621Looks dumb
>>11731950I figured he would be the longer it took for him to be made and that SKU was introduced. I don't mind though. I'm just glad he's finally here and we're one step closer to finishing that crew.Hopefully Bohdi isn't too far behind. Also lol @ RO's anniversary at least getting something, meanwhile TFA's went completely ignored
>>11730759
>>11731466I saw that scene. I dislike b-roll footage cause it's just extra scripted junk that would've been interesting behind the scenes movie magic but now it's just a documentary of how bored Hollywood workers are waiting until the next scene is ready to go.
>>11732005Honestly other than the shock value of hearing fuck in Star Wars, it wouldn't have done anything to make the scene better. "Fuck the Empire" is just a statement. "Fight the Empire" is an actual call to action.
>>11731945really funny having this leak during march madness
>>11732037But everybody would mouth gape over it and spam a hashtag on twatter.
>>11731945>more rogue one shitHard pass
>>11732037Fuck Star Wars, amirite?
the biggest problem with star wars is most of the people brought in to do it think they are making a sci fi movie. star wars has always been a fantasy movie set in space with princesses rogues wizards etc. bring in the guys that did that chris pine d&d movie and we'd have a perfect star wars property
>>11732150I agree with this, but I think the problem also stems from the current crop of writers trying to emulate the feel of the original trilogy without actually having clear memories of it. By which I mean everyone tends to remember the OT as being more light hearted and fun than it truly was in a lot of instances. I rewatched Star Wars last week and a podcast I listen pointed out something I'd never considered before: Vader tells that ballsy imperial officer who talks back to him that they're going to fake a distress signal and tell the Senate that everyone aboard the Tantive IV was killed. The dots I'd never thought to connect were that there are Stormtroopers escorting captured rebel fleet troopers down the hallway not long after the initial firefight...meaning that basically everyone aboard that ship except Leia got executed on the way out or, in the best case scenario, were probably sentenced to life in prison without a trial. Which is pretty fucking dark for a franchise that a lot of people seem to feel should just be fun space adventures all the time.
I legit dug up and started reading some Star Wars expanded universe books that were around home in my boredom. I’m more impressive at the amount of dedication they had back then at building lore and the setting even though it was just a few movies and a Clone Wars series. It also gives me a lot of appreciation to their Troopers’ armor since there is a good chance a big portion of the Clones and Stormtroopers we saw getting shot onscreen actually survived unconscious.Which is why I’ll be searching toys of the troopers cause I’m finding them really cool nowI never felt that invested in Star Wars back when I was a kid. Only now I’m understanding why.And yet… they sold it to Disney instead of using what they had.Sorry if this is the wrong thread for dicsussing, if there is any board elsewhere it’d be better I’ll go there.
>>11732185Based. I'm mostly an OT/post OT EU guy, but I love clone troopers to the point that I basically forgive everything that's bullshit about the prequels because of them.
I think it's so weird how you have people in this thread get so vitriolic towards Disney era Star Wars, yet in the same breath admit they've never consumed any EU content. It's wild to hear how some of you don't know much about Kyle Katarn or realize that Shadows was a multimedia deal and not just an N64 game. I mean, I understand why the guys who were deep into the old lore getting pissed. Hell, I was before I stopped caring. I was meck deep into the EU during my high school days, to bad it was garbage Vong bullshit or worse, Cade fucking Skywalker, but I still found ways to enjoy it. But now, I'd actually be shocked if any of you guys even knew who Anakin Solo was.
>>11732196In fairness Katarn never really mattered much to the EU as a whole. I can definitely understand how both fans under 40 and over 50 wouldn't really care about him even if they did like the EU.
>>11732202That kind of beseeches the point does it not?
>>11732196Hot take: Cade wasn't that bad and Legacy as a whole was fucking great. My preferred future for the Stat Wars universe.
>>11732209This. Legacy made me like the Vong stuff.
The old EU stuff is so good that whenever it does get republished it sells out quickly and immediately jumps up on the aftermarket. Dark horse collections over the past few years are harder to track down for reasonable prices than the chase micro galaxy squadron ships.
>>11732209I didn't think it could get worse than the Vong bullshit, Legacy proved me wrong. Don't get me wrong, most of the EU was pretty bad, but I wouldn't say it's quite as bad as the current era stuff.
>>11732219Makes sense. I don't collect physical media of any kind (why waste space that could be used for toys?), but I wouldn't mind a nice omnibus for the Tales of the Jedi and Kotor comics.
Vong stuff was more interesting, good or bad, than anything the Sequels farted out into the world.
>>11732196I have a ton of problems but I felt just having the Mandalorian Wars being canonized in The Mandalorian helped me deal with them.As much as I dislike Bokatan’s subplot in later seasons, having Din Djarin pair with her for a while explaining their culture and creed turning her into a better leader was a good development. She just saw that stuff as constraints and theatrics while Din became an apostate exactly because he was forced into a contradictory situation but his belief was that they were scattered and those old traditions were what made the Mandalorians together. In subsequent episodes she wanted to go straight to the results while he was the one that stopped, talking to people and displaying the respect to their culture.I dunno how much of it was intentional but really nailed the point that she had lost something while he had it.
>>11732260The writers have a contradictory arc for Din Djarin. They prove he is the one who knows and is willing to unite all Mandalorians but they pulled a Jon Snow special. "I don't want it (to be king)" and "muh queen" are exactly what Din Djarin started spouting throughout season 3. He could've been Bo Katan's close companion, confidante, even intimate partner but no. Once he does his duty of boosting up his queen into ruling he fucks off to going back to his old life as bounty hunter only now he has his stupid forever toddler and a shitty house in the desert.
>>11732272>The writers have a contradictory arcHow can this be anon? Surely they're not just pumping out product for profit!?
>>11732272Season 3 as a whole felt like they were trying to get the Mandalore and Gideon plotlines over with so they could make Din just a bounty hunter again
>>11732196I never read the vong stuff that much but i thought they were cool and i still own the vong action figure i got as a 12 year old
>>11732272The way season 3 ends was actually the only thing that made me feel like I could keep going for another season or two. I've loved Mandos since I was a teenager and I always will, but holy fucking shit was tired of Mandalorian clan politics by the end of that season. The whole culture just kind of comes out looking retarded due to their fixation on the dark saber, but I guess that's one more reason to be glad that stupid thing finally got destroyed. Maybe now the ruler of Mandalore can have a badge of office that actually makes sense. Perhaps some kind of helmet.Anyway, I'm very down for some solo bounty hunter adventures at this point, just give the other bucketheads a rest for awhile.
>>11732324Funny you metion that becaue many theories were around the Mythosaurus being the original way to determine the leader of Mandalore and the King Arthur stuff developed later after the Darksaber was built. The season starts with the Mythosaurus dragging Din underwater and Ryze witnessing it after she rescues him then it ends with the Darksaber destroyed (until they inevitable dig it out and repair it now or in some MMO later)So they have grounds to return to the old ways pre-Jedi
>>11732196As a gargantuan EU fag, you don't have to love the EU to hate Didney Wars. Even if you only like the movies, 1-6 are retroactively made worse by the "sequels." And most people who claim to disdain the EU actually played KOTOR and Battlefront and shit, they just don't think of that as being EU.Also the Vong rule, fuck you!
I would like a Leebo, please.
>>11732405I would like an MGS Outrider. Please?
>>11732412That'd be pretty fucking rad too. I'd also like the Virago, since I had the micromachines toy as a kid. Really just need more Shadows of the Empire shit in general, still holding out hope for black series bounty hunter Chewie and Leebo eventually.
>>11732405I can't figure out who this guy is suppose to be. They marked him as Dash Rendar, but he looks nothing like any of the Dash Rendar illustrations. Was their an IDW comic I missed with this redesign?
>>11732248>>11732302>>11732395Black Series Nom Anor would sell fucking gangbusters.
>>11732441For me it's how he looked in the stills on the N64 game. The figure kinda looks like Kurt Russell, which if I had to base Dash on an actor, it be 80s Russell.
>>11732324Din Djarin reverting to being a stinky single dad bounty hunter AGAIN and not uniting the clans so he can finally do away with their cultural feuding is a failure on the writers. If that icy bitch that forges the armor simply gave him the okay he would've done exactly that. Have him leading an entire faction of mercenaries that hunt Imperial Remnants and recruit from worlds they defend like a Warden.
>>11732405Guri too.
>>11732441Someone did find an obscure illustration where he looked like that back when they first announced the figure, but i don't remember what it was from. Still dumb they didn't go with his iconic look instead.
>>11732405>I would like a Leebo, please.Seconded, add Bounty Hunter Chewie, sexy blonde android Guri and a deluxe Swoop bike with Jix too please!>>11732412>I would like an MGS Outrider. Please?I would love that; I was always surprised we never got one back in the Action Fleet. I would like to see more EU stuff in general.>>11732421>I'd also like the Virago, since I had the micromachines toy as a kid. Really just need more Shadows of the Empire shit in general, still holding out hope for black series bounty hunter Chewie and Leebo eventually.Virago was a cool design. I still have my old SOTE stuff, but we really need some modern versions.
>>11732771I was so disappointed Kenner never released the Virago.
>>11732196I don't think those are mutually exclusive. The thing with EU material was I treated it like a bunch of 'what if' storylines that could have happened outside the movies. It was all like official fan fiction to me. Disney could be seen like that in a way. But I think where Disney messed up is by trying to have its cake and eat it too. They wanted to cater to nostalgia and try their own thing. And it doesn't help that these were made during the peak of a culture where companies wanted to hate their core audience while catering to a new general audience. Again, have their cake and eat it too. That is what led to the stinker that is Episode 8, probably the biggest mistake Disney ever made with Star Wars, leading to Episode 9's disaster, and a bunch of other stuff. At least with the EU can ignore some comics about Luuuke or the Yuzhang Vong because they aren't coming from the same place. Or if they are, its all a bunch of authors doing their own thing. Compare that to Disney and you see that they didn't learn form the past, all they did was again try to cater to everyone ending up catering to no one. That said, I do like a few Disney things. I still also like quite a lot of the EU stuff. There is an appel with EU stuff I don't get with most of Disney stuff.
>>11732918>There is an appel with EU stuff I don't get with most of Disney stuff. I think it's the same reason Star Wars had more charm under Lucas than Disney. Which isn't to say Lucas did everything right, but there was something you could appreciate about all the mainline stuff in that universe being curated by a single weirdo instead of a soulless media conglomerate. In the same way, I think the EU feels more like Star Wars because it was kind of just a bunch of Star Wars nerds having fun writing fan fiction together. I know it was a job at the end of the day and that they all did it to get paid (as they should), but I can feel the love for Star Wars oozing out of every page when I read something by Timothy Zahn, Michael Stackpole or James Luceno and I just don't get that sense of passion from any of the people currently working on this stuff.
Is SH Figuarts general grievous worth it?
What do you think or know of Trooper armor? I have been searching recently including the scene Rex is sniped, which burns up his nerves but my reaction is more of that the armor was really good since it basically made him survive.Though I did read Phase 2 and Stormtrooper armors are overall worse so I don’t have anything to gauge
>>11732978I really don’t think stormtrooper armor does anything I don’t know why they even bother with it when it doesn’t protect against blaster fire at all
>>11732978Stormtrooper armor is generally considered dogshit compared Clonetrooper armor. Much all like nearly all imperial snubfighters being mass produced cheap as fuck without shields or hyperdrives, Stormtrooper is pretty much worthless because Palpatine would rather throw as many bodies at a problem as it takes to solve than funnel any amount of money into keeping his troops alive longer.
>>11733004iirc while inferior it’s enough for most legal weaponsThough then you have people like Han Solo with an overloaded blaster and the rebels too so…
>>11732942I would say it's marginally better than black series but still has issues. Not really worth $150 just depends how much you want it
>>11733043the bandai parts kit grievous looks nice, it's around the same price his BS version goes for secondhand
>>11732939who's the broad that wrote the nightsister as a lesbo lol
>>11733051Sam Maggs apparently. I don't really care about Merrin being into girls though. Dathomir is like Themyscira: I just assume lesbian sex is happening somewhere in the background at all times.
>>11733059>decided to look the writer up>Maggs is openly lesbian[61]>Prior to 2022, Maggs was openly bisexual. Why would these cunts offset their usefulness to become pure dykes just to spite men? It almost sounds like she still is attracted ti guys still but her feminist msiandry is too rabid to accept it
>>11732942Nah, it sucks. Outdated, wonky articulation and breaks really easily. Looks nice, but also the cape is wrong.
>>11733099NTA but any Grievous yoh recommend?
>>11733106Get the shf if you're rich, black series if you're not, model kit if you are good at building and painting. Those are your choices for 1/12
Feels like it's been a while since any PT reveals... I want to see more stuff to go with the TVC gunship. I hope they make the phase 3 clone pilots, I don't really mind if they reuse parts from the Mando AT-AT driver even if it wouldn't be totally accurate
>>11733141The next mainline wave yet to be announced is supposed to release in July according to Yakface. I imagine the bulk of that is going to be Geonosis stuff which will likely be revealed in their May 4th stream.
>>11733138I have the black series one I don’t think it’s that bad but I really love Grievous and if the Figuarts is that much better I’m interested
>>11733306I sold the black series before getting the shf and feel like I wouldn’t have missed much if I had just stuck with the black series. It has some nice things like the paint and weathering details and open hands and is a little better at standing but still fails at that. But the price is a joke for something so light and flimsy without much mass. No toy is worth that much, I only got it because I’m a retard.
>>11732405This looks like the Jamie Lannister nigga who, to be fair, is exactly how I would expect a live action rendar to look and act, but yeah he doesnt look like any of the well known older looks.

And I haven't had it that long, but wiring the LED lights together is a pretty intricate process, which means it's probably going to be left as it is for long periods unless I have really specific setup I want to try. Having said all that, I am pretty happy with the end result from a photography standpoint, so I won't say it's not worth it all. Just be prepared to block out a day or two for the assembly.>>11734519Thanks man. The shots don't always come out the way I want them to, but the goal is always to generate worthwhile discussion. The initial Dashpost got people talking about Shadows of the Empire and that made me happy, so I figured I'd keep it going with the stuff I posted tonight. It was a lot of fun and I haven't really messed with Dash much since the unboxing, so it had the added benefit of making that purchase feel more justified.

>>11735148Thanks anon. I had that Luke when I was a kid too, which is part of why I picked the black series up. Shadows of the Empire was a formative Star Wars experience for me, so all those old figures are pretty special to me. Definitely get Dash, he and Luke are my favorites of the new figures. Can someone hold this stevie retard at gunpoint until he makes a haslab of a tvc Outrider with Dash and Leebo and the swoop bike on board? and with Xizor, Guri and Luke as stretch goals? thanks.
>>11735696I've day dreamed a lot about this exact scenario and I think it's not out of the realm of possibility based on how they do things- someone would just need some sack to do it. The great news about Shadows is that the majority of characters are already in other things- meaning that given what we know about slots and budget for TVC, and how they like to support haslabs with more retail figures and even multipacks- there's easily 10-12 characters that exist in both other more prominent media AND Shadows that already have figures that can be re-used with minimal to no changes in SotE cardbacks. Even if they did put out a new figure of one of these that wasn't a repack, it would allow for future releases of it as well which we know they care about it. There's really very few SotE characters that would need entire or near entire new molds- Dash and Xizor being the obvious picks, and then things like Leebo, Guri, and maybe one of the new bounty hunters or those red and black lizard dudes which could all be part of the haslab. Leaving minimal retool or new accessory figures for mainline releases and multipacks. Absolutely spring for a swoop which would come with Jix and pop one in with the outrider if they're feeling spicy. Chewbacca in Snoova getup and Luke with his vest are probably the most significant needs of new parts with existing figures, ie not fucking much. A lot of the other characters could be just repacked or repainted. Mishmash all this stuff into a 3 pack and a few waves with one or two of the significant tools and you have a great recipe for a full on anniversary shadows push, with haslab, while following their current business model. Man, if fucking only.

What is a good price for that, they seem kinda expensive and hard to find>>11735696I feel like SOTE is too niche for Hasbro to go too deep into. Imo SOTE, is too inaccessible for younger fans. Only a subset of boomers know what it is and like it. Personally as a zoomie, I have a vague idea but also don't really get it because it feels like an inside joke only the boomers who were there at the time get. If it was a movie or show on disney+ or a game you could play on current gen consoles, it might be more popular
>>11736017NTA but he mentioned it in either this thread or a different one but yeah that is the Ubiquitous. I took a look and it looks like it was reissued and BBTS has it for $130. I have the NECA street scene diorama that goes for slightly less than that and for something modular, and with lights, and with expansion opportunities, I'd say that's a pretty fair price. Anon did say it was kind of a bitch to set up though with wiring all the LED lights.
>You are to be congratulated for your survival, Jedi Skywalker. Why don't you give yourself a hand?>>11736017Thank you anon! It's been fun taking them and I'm glad other anons are liking the end results. And the other anon was correct about it being the Ubiquitous Base, the reissue being available on BBTS and that I said it was a bitch to put together. And while the assembly is a bit of a headache, but I am happy with how it's helped me step up my photography game. Whether it's worth 130 bucks really depends on how much enjoyment you get out of this sort of thing. I find posing and taking photos of my toys fun and relaxing, so for me it's been worth it to enhance something I do frequently to begin with. And as the previous anon pointed out, it's a reasonable asking price compared to a lot of other similarly scaled dioramas.
>>11736094>Oh...it would appear that you already have.
Time for a mirror match.
>>11736036>>11736094And it does come with everything needed to set up the lighting right? BBTS description seems to say so. $130 does seem like a lot but idk it does look very nice and versatile and I have made more retarded purchases. My biggest regret is not getting the GTP Space Walls when they were available. 1/12 was $100 and 1/18 $50 or $60 I believe. Seemed a bit pricey at the time but looking back and considering how much prices have increased, I think the 1/18 scale at least was an absolute bargain.

That's why literally all major SW content for the past 5 years has shifted into nostalgia bait for people that grew up with the OT and the prequels.

I was thinking of adding the black series purge trooper 2 pack too but they increased the price of that from 45 to 55 before it released... Comparison between the new TVC Mando (left) and the previous Imperial Base version (right). The new sculpting for everything above the belt is overall much sharper and more proportionate to how he looks in the actual costume. Plus better and accurate details like the holster and on the gauntlets.
>>11739102I thought it was a waste for them to give him more new tooling but he actually does look a lot better. The helmet especially
>>11739108The helmet is definitely a highlight for me along with the accurate flak vest. I didn't want to buy anymore Mandos until they fixed those two things so I'm glad to see it finally done. All the other updates are just much appreciated gravy. Just stinks that I have like 5 or 6 of the various other releases of the character that now instantly feel inferior and I'm going to have to replace when they put this new one out with a normal jetpack. Wish they'd just release them already so people can move on. Pretty sure they were on the Yakface leak list before he stopped posting leaks.I don't remember if Krell was on that list but weird they haven't announced him yet since they usually do make the winners. All of my top picks were gone by the Sweet Sixteen.> i'm all salty at the bad batchWe all are. Even the guys that run March Madness are tired of seeing them on the bracket. Someone asked if they could consider just lumping them all together as a single character for future tournaments so they wouldn't take up so many spots but they said they can't because it goes against the spirit of the tournament because they all require unique tooling. I disagree with that though, because when a character has multiple looks, like Qi'Ra for example, they consolidate them down to a single costume for the tournament.I just wish for Hasbro to make a pipeline announcement for the rest of the Bad Batch before the next one so there can finally be a reason to dismiss them from the bracket altogether. Especially now that the final matchups are basically Bad Batch vs Andor/RO characters.

If there are no stakes then what is even the point of a serious storyAgree, but this was always a problem. The main characters have plot armor; they're not going to get shot so the Troopers are going to miss. Some games try to explain it by making E-11s hard to handle with low accuracy. Kinda helps balance things out. But yeah, it gets old.
>>11739870My taste in Star Wars runs pretty specific, so I only really collect EU and OT stuff. I like stuff from the prequel era too, just not enough to really commit money to it. Can't say how they compare a lot of the more recent black series releases, but these two are far and away my favorites to come out in awhile. Kyle in particular feels very good to mess with, though I think it's probably because he's the first SW figure I've picked up in a long time whose articulation doesn't feel limited by their character design.>>11739980I liked the first season of the Mandalorian, but something I really hated (besides force heal) is that scene where the two scout troopers are taking pot shots at a bush and missing every time. Making imperial forces canonically bad shots isn't funny, it's annoying and gets in the way of immersion.>>11740026The Republic Commando novels also tried to rationalize by introducing the idea that Strormtroopers were second generation clones grown on the cheap from a different source then the Kaminoans (though some percentage of them still used Jango's genetic template). Some of the RC's note that they have inferior marksmanship skills compared to the previous generations of clones, but it's also revealed later that that's more due to a combination of them being grown and educated in like a year and having no practical training or real world experience of any kind. Not sure if I like that either, but it's more well thought out explanation than every Stormtrooper being incompetent for no reason.
Need Desann, Tavion, Jerec, some EU Darktroopers or Reborn for my boy to fight please.

Making imperial forces canonically bad shots isn't funny, it's annoying and gets in the way of immersion. So something I noticed but never really paid much attention to was the fact that most blasters in Star Wars don't have any fucking sights to aim with. I recently tried that Star Wars overhaul for Starfield and it's really cool, but until the recent update, most blasters didn't have any sights making them a fucking bitch to aim properly. I was actually missing more shots when I would ADS because who the fuck know where I'm aiming exactly. It'd be even worse in real life. The latest update, he added Holo sights for any weapon that didn't have sights built in, which was the vast majority of blasters, only a handful actually have sights built in. The holo sights made a world of difference and made me kind of torn about the whole thing. From a gameplay perspective the no sights thing fucking sucked, but lorewise, actually made sense and could explain why everyone sucks at aiming in SW.
>>11740026I don't think you even need to explain it. Every main character in everything has plot armor and every enemy in everything misses their shots. But no one else gets meme’d on like stormtroopers. >>11740129That scene in Mando was so fucking retarded. Filoni put so many shit scenes like that in Rebels too. It’s literally amateur hour writing to show the villains as an incompetent joke right before the epic finale where the protagonist is in dire straits. Mando backed into a corner by Gideon's overwhelming forces? Who cares, they are clearly not a threat.
I like that the boxart for TBS bounty hunter ventress puts her next to quinlan vospersonally I think they should do a dark disciple variant, all they need to do is swap out the lightsabers for her yellow one, and alter the head to have haircould also sell it in an exclusive dual pack with quinlan
>>11740256of course i'd prefer a bad batch ventress figure though, but we just got bounty hunter so don't mind waitinghopefully some show or something puts a big focus on her like tales did, so they make a figure for the show
>>11739895Red Jammer looks cool. I wonder if they'll start making novel versions of the squadrons like Yellow and Blue X Wings and Green and Red Y Wings.
>>11740578there's a blue squadron, green squadron, and black-n-white partisan x-wingthere's going to be a blue TCW Y-wing
I should get my Target exclusive Mando in his brown armor. And then Amazon is delivering my Mando and Grogu Mando today. Real interested to see if the upgraded are with it.
>>11741090I saw the new stuff at Walmart yesterday. They had both BS and TVC Mando and Grogu sets along with the VS troopers. They looked really good. I grabbed the TVC pack for the new Mando and he's a huge step up from the old one. I dig his new rifle. They also moved the whole Star Wars section to be right at the entrance of the aisle instead of randomly plopped in the center like it's been for years. I even saw a kid and his dad looking at the toys as I was making my way up to them. Can't remember the last time I'd seen that in the wild.
>>11726621Can someone PLEASE post the barcode for the guard droid and mercenary stap set? I really want to try and get it today
>>11726621>>11741161And if someone could post the barcode for the basic figures too that would also be appreciated as well
Got the two new Mandos in. They're good. Beskar Mando is basically the same figure as the Glavis Ringworld minus the new ball wrists and a better cape. I wanted the new wrists and accessories and I like the more muted colors better but he's definitely kinda steep for an upgrade. Brown Mando is great though. A clear upgrade from the old one. Glad Hasbro kept the plug for the rifle if you have one still so you can complete his look. Yes, he should've come with one but you know Hasbro.
>>11741262Here's Glavis Ringworld vs the new movie version.
>>11741263And then here's the ep 1 Mando comparison with the old one. We really have come a long way from this figure. Black Series look like a whole new level from how they used to be just even 5 or 6 years ago. Gotta hang on to this one though. It was my first Black Series figure, found it at a random Target. A few weeks later I found a random RotJ Luke Walmart exclusive and fell down the rabbit hole.
when are we getting a scout trooper that isn't double-jointed shit
>>11741161>>11741165I didn't have the barcodes but Target has them all listed online so you can get the UPC under the details>https://www.target.com/p/star-wars-actionverse-guard-droid-38-mercenary-stap/-/A-94744404
>>11741262Did they just forget the rifle? I get with some of the beskar versions they might have omitted it because he didn’t always carry it but with the brown armor I thought he always had it? That kinda sucks desu
>>11741455The figure is technically supposed to be sourced to the opening of the first episode. He didn't carry the pulse rifle with him and only first brought it out to shock the ravinak biting onto the ship. HOWEVER, since this is a Target exclusive they should have at least sprung and included either the tracking device or the holopuck showing Mythrol's bounty to really sell it. I'm sure they're going to wind up doing a mainline release down the road with the beskar pauldron and source it to Arvala-7 and include the rifle with that one.
>>11741326Thanks nigga
Been over a year since I got some micro Galaxy stuff, but Amazon had a sale for the Tie Whisper at 10 with a blind box, the Tie Avenger got and it's one of my favorite ships, plus Walmart had the AT-TE for 22. Still haven't gotten the ships, but the AT-TE is alright for 22, but no way is it worth full price, tolerances are all over the place and it's a bit annoying that it's been going for years and issues like that still crop up. Paint is better on the mini find, shame that they hate making figure packs so you can deck out the walker.
>>11741269>Old one>Better cape>More sculpted details>More natural stance>More painted dings and dents>Actually comes with rifleOutside of the slightly better head what exactly is better? I missed your earlier post >>11741262 and looked at the picture for a little bit and genuinely thought the one on the right was the newer figure.
>>11742523To be fair the cape on the old is a 3rd party custom cape.
March Madness final 4>Luthen>Wrecker>Pong Krell>Saw GererraI hope Krell wins again, I would even accept Saw. I will be very unhappy to see Anbore slop or lame batch win
>>11742634I just can't believe Krell is the potential to be the first two time winner. I had enough time believing enough people really wanted him that bad the first time he won
>>11742634Luthen is the best character on that list by a mile but I really don't think it would sell very well.
>>11742676He is and I loved Andor, but they really shouldn't bother with toys for it. The series just doesn't lend itself to that. Krell would make the coolest toy, so he should win.
HERE WE GO
>>11742853
>>11742854
>>11742855Preorders go up 3/26 on Pulse and Fan Channel retailers. $79.99
>>11742859Who the hell is going to spend $80 on this?
>>11742861The price is a bit steep. It could be misreported, which wouldn't be the first time. The AT-RT was going to be $80 according to the press release in its reveal too.
>>11742859This looks lame ngl. I guess they made this for the older collectors that already have the main three monsters. But redoing those might have been more exciting because this creature is pretty bland design wise. As for figure interactivity, it's really only good for the Anakin and Padme kissing scene right? Hopefully there are more interesting plans for the Geonosis theme.
>>11742893I think it looks great and I want the Geonosian and the Orray but I don't really care about the cart, since like you said it's only good for the scene of Anakin and Padme being led in. Whereas the riders and the Orrays were all over the arena and would bolster the Geonosian forces. There are other things for the BoG theme that I'm probably going to prioritize like army builder packs, so I'm probably just gonna put this one on the backburner and wait for a sale.
Hasbro was actually pretty smart for making the Mando movie tie in figures imperial army builders. They are less likely to pegwarm after the movie flops so it won’t be a repeat of the sequel pegwarmers they overproduced
>>11743060Only once they hit clearance. The prices are keeping everyone away
Target's having 20% off star wars toys til the 28th, for whatever reason it didn't work on my remnant ATAT driver but did work on the Mando and Grogu figs, so just bring it up at the check out to have them manually give you the discount.
>>11741161I tried to find this in target stores around me and none of them have it. If they bothered getting the stap as an exclusive they why are they too lazy to be able to stock it in tome for the street date? Fuck target
i'm still mad that tbs made arguably the best 1/12 scale astromech body, and three different heads for r2's, r4's and r4's and then proceeded to do fuck all with the latter two, and only released a single other r2 on the new body that's a christmas glup shittothere used to be multiple astromech packs with the shitty body, where are they now with the actually good new one?tvc barely makes astromechs anymore either, but even when they do they're all on the shit body that can't close the front arms that we've had for nearly two decades now
