Then just use a primitive cylinder part to make a 30x250mm peg to go into the peg holes instead of needing to buy a dowel or pipe and print it horizontally and with 100% infill for strength. The first one I printed fell out of my hand when I was goofing with it and broke due to the pegs being weak from the layer lines being vertical. I also recommend reducing the height of the pegs by 1mm each since they are slightly too longAlso printed all these in PETG to add a sheen to mimic a bit of a metallic shine since PLA is usually matteAlso found He-Man's axe. Ok, since someone at Mattel seems to really like Man-e-Faces, I had an idea: Singl-e-Faces three pack in which Man-E is split into 3 unique beings. And I don't mean just 3 Man-E figures, only with a head drum glued in place so each displays a different one. I mean fully unique designs for fully human Perkaedo, green-skinned monster and 100% non-organic robot. Tell me you never wondered what the full version of his faces would look like. >>11753520>ThangDoes it need to be spit on?
OK, assuming this movie is a hit that gets a sequel greenlit the Monday after it opens, which villains do you use? And more importantly, HOW?The Evil Warriors have Evil-Lyn and some dudes in makeup to do dramatic performances. If they do Snake Men, wouldn't they all be CGI except King Hiss in his human suit? How about the Horde? Can CGI villains like Mantenna and Modulok carry a live action film? If they can't use She-Ra characters, we might end up with an unmasked Despara (who can never get a Sword of Protection) carrying the drama alongside Hordak.
>>11753520Some people have resting bitch face, some have resting puppy face.>>11753539They could redesign Snake Men for more and less snake-like for variety. Snake Face at least can be human-like, so does Lady Slither.I think the deeper we go a) The less villains they'll need, Hiss and maybe one more can carry story while other villains are mooks b) They more confident they'll feel in trying to make CGI characters like Thanos or Sonic carry serious scenes.
>>11753539Snakemen that can be easily done with practical effects and minimum cgi:King Hiss (human form)Snake FaceSlitherPythonusTerroar Ditto for HordeHordak GrizzlorDragstorMosquitor (say the head is a helmet like cgi did with their mosquito)Wrap TrapAll of them could be guys in suits 90% of the time with maybe like one or two cgi display of their power
>>11753531Goddamn, Lyn, is that all you think about, spitting on Skeletor's thang?
If you were going to get into collecting vintage Motu, which characters mog their Origins counterparts?
>>11753629Vintage Kobra Khan, Rattlor and Tung Lashor are famous for having action features Origins don't.
>>11753629The ones with working gimmicks. Like origins mekanek has pieces while the vintage figure has a turn the waist and the neck extends.
>>11753642>>11753643Those are the ones that came to mind as well. What about Fisto and Jitsu?Mantenna is kind of tricky. I love how Mattel updated the legs...but now his eyes are gimped.Origins Roboto is missing some gears to.>my autistism is awakening and soon will have to go all in on vintage
>>11753629Modulok. I don't know if that's a hot take or if many people will agree with me but Modulok is the only one so far that I've opted to just take him out of the display in favor of his vintage counterpart. Even >>11753642 these three snakes, as pissed as I was over the removed feature, I'm still keeping in my display.
>>11753651What's your take on Moddy? I skipped him because it just looked too fiddly and I knew my kids would lose all the parts.I was going to get the Classics version of him because the extra size shouldn't make a different because he's a giant bug monster.
>>11753539fuck snakes
>>11753666I don't like Modulok being big, I prefer him as a little guyThe feature is not fun to play with because I hate the need for those connector adaptor pegs they were required to use to make him compatible with regular figures but still make weird combinations. The old one you could just pop and swap . And the combos you come up with look too awkward to me in a way I don't like. Origins Modulok is only good if you're the kind of collector that will put him in the standard two head, six legs configuration from thr box, put him on the shelf to look at and never touch him again. But if you want to play with him as intended, vintage is more fun for that

>>11754626Does the Skeletor have the old head or the toy/vintage head?
>>11754626oh thanks anon, Ive been wanting that Skeletor. He's got a much nicer dark purple.
Hey guys, I'm a little confused and I know you can sort me out. So I got that golden skeletor today, what line or series does it belong to? It's not origins but it doesn't have any movie references either. And what's the significance of the INAUGURAL on scare glow? It leads one to think a second version is coming but I'm just interested in him currently as I don't plan to collect the line but maybe cherry pick while I focus on origins.
>>11754660that golden Skeletor is from the kid line "first ones." He's the first one out and there will be more. No clue why they made him, but since he's a walmart exclusive it's probably just something they made up and shit out.
>>11754643
>>11754626WTF, he had to go to $10 on Mattel Creations to sell out.

I think that’s the route I’m going for movie related figures outside of a chronicles heman and battle cat. Don’t sleep on any of these lines. I highly suggest trying them if you’re on the fence about any of them.
>>11755311>Honey, I Shrunk the Masters of the Universe!
>>11749246>>11749331>>11749368>>11749453OK, what if less of a 100% completionist but more collector than a cherry picker. As if I'd like to feel like I have some kind of full set.
>>11755752I'd say at bare minimum, I'd go for at least 1 version of all the characters that appeared in the vintage line just because it's the generally accepted core of MotU. That way you have a goal, but you have some flexibility. Like you can decide if you want vintage, LoP or ToG to be your Mer Man, but know you have to get at least one of them. Of course, much of the cast only has one option, so that'll narrow it down a little.
>>11755752Who do you already have?
>>11755752Second what >>11755755 saidIf you can try for vintage, at least 1 version of said character (He-Man, Thunder punch He-Man, Laser Power He-Man, etc. = all fall under as a 'He-Man' figure) would be ideal. I'd try to avoid 100%ing side series like Filmation or Sun-Man or TMTN etc. because that is a whole other can of worms. It actually may be easy to get all the Vintage figures for near MSRP minus a few that may be more expensive. It depends on your own collection goals, and budget of course.
>>11755311Eternia Babies
I’ve been trying to shake the trees for more info on what’s coming out after the movie hits and not been too fruitful. I found a ton of info for another line coming but as far as MOTU, it’s been stuff a retard could guess. More Chronicles, Core and Origins of unannounced characters with meaningful appearances in the film. A broad merchandising program across multiple formats for many retail channels and partners centered around the digital release in the fall leading into the key Christmas shopping season. An exciting new “As Seen in the Movie” program will deliver key products such as toys and vehicles to excite collectors and fans. This will deliver exclusive branded products to major retail partners for the upcoming busy shopping season post theatrical window. Anyone speak legal bullshit? I can’t believe someone gets paid to write that shit. I trying to figure out if it’s all secrecy or lazy bullshit on Mattel’s part at this point. They hype up a bunch of Chronicles and the kids line, show those off at shows. Then all this other shit pops up out of nowhere unannounced and still not even announced like the minis and then we find out hey there’s Origins too. Only other thing I found was Amazon is supposed to have a big landing page with all kinds of shit on it.
>>11755777it all hinges on if the movie does well. you might see some prototypes leak in a few years if it doesn't, but otherwise we can expect a lot of the same for 2027 and beyond.maybe check what mattel has copyrighted recently? they renewed their C in Despara a while before making an origins of her, but then they also did for Granamyr too. otherwise your best bet is to dig through mattel employees and look at their portfolios.
Should Despara just be Adora's equivalent to Faker?

>>11755606>Mighty masters better fucking continue.I'm wary that it's never going to continue beyond a few "just a new head and gear" characters like Mer-Man, Stratos, Zodac, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Faker, Prince Adam, Fisto, Jitsu, King Randor, Clamp Champ, Scare Glow, Ninjor, Webstor, Moss Man, Stinkor and a Mekaneck with the standard torso and neck extensions (the curse of 2010s and 2020s MotU lines).

>>11756557>>11756613The initial crossover seems to have burned out. Our next best bet is the Thundercats movie slated for release sometime in the next 4 years.
Guys, I can not find my origins scareglow. I was planning a pic of my skull headed figures and the guy is gone. I've got a spare in box but I'm not trying to open it since it's a back up or possible trade offer one day. Oh yeah, the new gold skeletor doesn't scale nicely with origins but I'm sure you all knew that already.
>>11756921>it's a back upTime to back that ass up then>the new gold skeletor doesn't scale nicely with originsThe movie origins beastman should scale with core better than the actual core release

>>11757165See, that's something at least Nu-Ra got better, actual variety. Most of those women are incredibly samey. Just tell me chick next to Entrapta doesn't look just like She-Ra.

Have you gotten all the vintage toys you want up to this point? The movie is going to supercharge scalpers. It's gonna suck.
>>11757494We all know why
>>11758546>Have you gotten all the vintage toys you want up to this point?I had a large vintage collection I liquidated on eBay rather than move between US states with it, because we'd seen the Deluxe Wave 3 Origins and I had faith Mattel would get around to remaking everyone with gimmicks intact.About a third of the rare 87 figures, everyone from 84-86 except Prince Adam, Battle Armor He-Man, Thunder Punch He-Man and Horde Trooper, Evil-Lyn, Man-E-Faces, even a few 82 characters I can scarcely believe were still on pegs. Still had their mini-comics and card backs even though I was only age 4-5. Every playset except Eternia, the cats, horses, Dragon Walker and the 1985 vehicles.I mostly don't regret it, though in hindsight I should have kept vintage Kobra Khan, Rattlor, Tung Lashor and some vehicles.
Axel's trying to make GWB's playset happen. Featuring his pony, that red Khan guy, Cham-Or, the cyclops and the four-armed minotaur.
>>11758823This is neat, although i'd rather have the horde tower. But this is unique a concept enough I'd be into it. I do think they need to get away from the kind of sameness of the interiors, if it's just another round of "throne + weapons rack + jail cell" reskin type shit it's sort of a waste. Given the industrial look of this with the chains, it would be cool if the inside was more like an industrial factory/engine room setting with prisoners forced to work putting together some robots on an assembly line or tossing ore into an engine or something.
>>11758823I'm not going to pretend a flying skull fortress isn't cool but it's insanely impractical for a toy.
>>11758844>Given the industrial look of this with the chains, it would be cool if the inside was more like an industrial factory/engine room setting with prisoners forced to work putting together some robots on an assembly line or tossing ore into an engine or something. It would be extremely cool if they could put in a robot assembly line or furnace that prisoners have to work. Shades of Sky City from Flash Gordon.
>>11758853This isn't any less impractical than any number of other tower/clamshell sets except this is just a bit too large. Just imagine the smoke as some translucent plastic, it could be a removable stand type situation and have a split as well if it was an opening set vs a set with an open back like eternia tower. Lose an inch off the smoke, scale down the rest by like 20% and its absolutely viable.
>>11758823I will take the entire stock.>>11758853The netflix Grayskull was a floating fortress playset.
>>11758823>>11758844>>11758861>>11758865Here's a rough rescale to make it more practical. You could scale it down even more but I think it would start to lose some of it's cool factor then. And yeah, furnace was exactly the word I was looking for. The sky city is a good shout. I think a lot of fun stuff could be done with this, I really hope they bring the same level of imagination to the interior as they have to the outside.
>>11758844It feels very Horde-coded as it is. Like I can visualize this floating above the Fright Zone for Hordak to live in while prisoners are kept in the Fright Zone dungeons below
>>11758853Once you realize this would just be a hollow base I think it becomes more realistic It'd probably just be completely orange too
>>11758888Na, let is keep the bigger scale for that $500 they're already gonna be charging us
Apparently this guy's name is Komodo
>>11759198>Orange, strawberry, blueberry, & grape-lemon>, &That text was made by AI?
>>11759024Price is not nearly as important to me as size. It would be silly to have a massive brand new OC building that completely dwarfs every existing set including eternia, not to mention the practical issues of having something that takes up so much space. Even playing with something that large tends to be annoying. I'd much rather something that feels like it's believably part of the line, vs something the size of the classics playsets.
>>11759209It's an Oxford comma, and the ampersand is a symbol that signifies the word "and".
>>11759198>>11759197Next to Mighty Masters, I'm more excited for these than I am the movie.
>>11758888Who knew the key to selling me on the GBW was a four armed minotaur and a chameleon man.>>11759007I can really see it now that you mention it. It'd be a cross between 200X Grayskull and the vintage SPOP Crystal Castle.
>>11758391>>11758393Buzzsaw Horak with Hurricane Hordak arm is pretty fun. LoP Merman is so fun just for how silly looking he is. And I really like the design of ToG Ninjor with his dragon head that has an articulated jaw.
>>11759223>Oxford commaThanks. Never heard that.Weird. It is only used in England and now rarely, only in science. So i guess that this was an AI, they feed too much science papers. This feels like this – instead of - that AI likes to use.

>>11759926Smart plan to have the Great Black Wizard demo it too.
>>11752028Imagine getting this fella, but with engineering and articulation from the 21st century. .
The origins will scale with core. Don’t buy this.
>>11760276Also blaster confirmed
>>11760277
>>11760276Compared to origins
>>11760276I really dont understand making core and origins figures for the movie. The core stuff is going to emd up shelfwarming really bad.
>>11760318It’s a cheap mass produced line to get kids in. It’s that simple. >kids don’t buy toysBoomers do and they’ll buy this for their grandchildren to get into heman. Aunts and uncles walking the toy isle for cheap gifts will buy them as well.
Masterverse and 200x cartoon collection heads fit on the core buck. The 200x CC Heman vest fits scareglow.
>>11760343Fog effects sound pretty cool.
>>11760343Would it be dumb if I painted it purple? It's going to be $200 after taxes and I feel torn on customizing something so expensive.
>>11752028I wasn't sold on him looking at the product shots but grabbed him since he's part of the sale and he's a pretty cool figure in hand. I like the head a lot more than I expected. He's my first Chronicles so I'm experiencing the articulation for the first time and it really does feel great. Only the lateral shoulder movement has a ratcheted feel, and the rest is incredibly smooth. The articulation scheme is set up well, but some of the parts could use some refinement, like in the torso. It moves ok, and better than Masterverse, but a torso built this way should be able to get a lot better range. For the thighs they just have movement on the ball, rather than an inner thigh swivel, so that could be better, but it gets the job done. The range of the arms seems to be better overall than it looks to be on Scareglow, which is good to see because his range seemed quite limited. Butterflies are also more limited than they could be, ball pegged arms into to the torso with the floating cap would probably be the ideal setup here.
>>11760372If the movie does well somebody might release a proper havoc staff. If it doesnt you could always just buy a broomstick and 3D print the goathead portion of the staff.
>>11756969SUUUPERRRRRRRRRR
>>11760276Don't worry, I'm not buying any of the movie stuff. Not unless they make an Origins movie Gygor. I'd buy that. But only if it's Origins. Not if it's Chronicles or Core
>>11760402I didnt even consider a deluxe Chronicles Gygor. I wonder if they could get one out at BC price, or maybe they have no faith in it and opt for MC.
>>11760402An Origins Gygor would be a blessing just as much as the PoG dinos

>>11760464You can always settle for the stein. I agree it was a missed opportunity in anycase. Hell you could have sold Snake Mountain as a variant bucket, or sculpt both castle faces onto the same bucket. I like that better than the weird statue buckst thing.
>>11760466It's confirmed to do popcorn, drink, and candy. Popcorn goes inside the castle, candy goes in the skull and can come out of the drawbridge mouth, and the tower is the cup.
>>11760466You'd think the Power of Grayskull would be protein, not liquid and solid sugar...

>>11760954Man that would be a shame. They make fantastic desk toys, I kinda wish they had a bit more articulation to fiddle with but I really appreciate they are seeming to be super faithful to the OG toys. They feel like solid toys you could toss into your packet.

There was that one anon that posted on one of these threads about a wave of toys with an inspired by the movie logo on the box. It might be legit as there is a logo in that toy commercial.
