Sometimes you got a potf figure that might be a little sticky years later, but not whatever the micro machines brand was using. Every time I go to an expo/convention, people are always shilling g the idea that toy quality sucked until the mid-2000s with 3d sculpts, etc., but there are a lot, like these, that have stood the test of time well.

The only ones I’ve had plastic problems with are Playmates brands (TMNT, Trek). Occasionally a later wave potf2 with softer plastic for an accessory will get a bit sticky in places, but not a big deal. Or a few G2 TF or beast wars figures that have special kinds of plastic on their bodies somewhere.
Only playset I knew no one else would have around my neighborhood was the Hillhurst Manor playset from Big Bad Beetle Borgs.
