Overgear can't come soon enough>leaks and rumorshttps://pastebin.com/92WE512y (updated)Previous thread: >>11762034
>>11765689I always liked how Cheetor and Ringo have the same catch phrase, and now we've added 'over' to it!
Mystery of Speedia 500This toy tie in is 24 pages so here we go!Aboard Untite's ship, Bluebolt explains to Dark Amber Leo Prime that Lio Convoy's green color and his dark amber color is the result of exposure to righteous Angolmois Energy and malevolent Angolmois Energy, respectively, examples of the color changing phenomenon. Such color changes can come from all sorts of power ups, including those induced by Energon Matrices and forestonite during the G2 era. Forestonite has the same power as Energon Matrices, and this is why the veteran Stunticons have embarked on a journey to find more forestonite.
>>11765697In the Nemesis, the Stunticons find a black hole, intending to go through to the other side. Dead End, ever pessimistic, doesn't mind the risk, what with the universe ending and all, while Wildrider relishes the thrill. Breakdown, on the other end, is terrified and not very good at hiding it. Dragstrip, on the other hand, is frustrated because this kind of space exploration isn't for him. He was built to be number one in racing, and none of this stuff interests him.
>>11765689the overgear designs look cool but they also look like the toys will be excessively fiddly like alternators & the 07 bayformers
>>11765698After he crosses the line in insulting the other Stunticons, Motormaster shuts down the whining, pointing out that they got this important job thanks to their record as a former scout squad, but get violent when the dismissive F-1 racer brings up his leader's rivalry with Optimus Prime.
>>11765701Crossing into the black hole, the Stunticons and the ship are affected by the dimension's forestonite particles, inducing a G2-style color change in their bodies.
>>11765702In 2010, four Transformers had went into a black hole and experienced similar changes, but did not investigate why then. Now it is realized that it was the result of the presence of forestonite. The Stunticons spot a rift that's pulling them in, and they willingly decide to enter.
>>11765703On the other side, they find the planet Velocitron (known as Speedia over in Japan) during one of its many races. In the race, the New Decepticon Trio attempt to use their Rocket Car to interfere with Hot Shot.
>>11765704Hot Rod manages to escape their clutches with Cyber Key power, and the three malicious doofuses end up crashing and arrested by police. The scenario speaks to Dragstrip's inner soul as a racer.
>>11765705The Stunticons are brought before Flatline, who explains that Velocitron is now a destination of multiversal travel since the denizens of this universe began the Multiverse Space Bridge Project. Looking up their origin, Flatline determines the Stunticons to be from the G1 World during the G2 era and, despite Motormaster's protestations, impresses them into racers to help generate energy for the planet and marks them with the G2 Decepticon insginia.
>>11765706. The doctor also gives them new livery to reflect their forestonite-granted abilities.
>>11765707 (You) #When they're let go, Motormaster ignores the entire racing thing, wanting to get back to their actual goal, which upsets Dragstrip, who swears off the other Stunticons to race to his heart's content. Motormaster doesn't appreciate the insubordination and walks off on his own to complete their mission to save their universe. Dragstrip runs into Hot Shot, and the two gas each other up for the next race.
>>11765709In the next Speedia 500 race, many Transformers from different universes participate: Prowl and Wasp from the Animated World; Knock Out and Breakdown from the Prime World; Lockdown and Shadow Striker from the Cyberverse World; champion and leader of Velocitron, Hot Shot; and Dragstrip from the G1 World. The other three Stunticons survey the race's spectators, figuring that they're all from worlds in their post-war era and decide to join the race.
>>11765710. Elsewhere, Motormaster, figuring he should learn about this universe's history, runs into the Mini-Con Jolt, who offers to serve as Motormaster's guide
>>11765711The race begins and Breakdown manages to take out both Knock Out and the other Breakdown with his oil-leaking.
>>11765712Wildrider's swerving causes Wasp to peter out, and Prowl jumps on the reckless Stunticon, forcing both off the racetrack—Wildrider activates his anti-grav gear and the two career off into the sky.
>>11765714Dead End uses his fireball charge to rush through the Cyberverse racers, and Shadow Striker is forced to take care of a disassembled Lockdown. In the "Shrine of Speedia", Jolt explains to Motormaster about his universe: after stopping the Grand Black Hole that threatened their world, they began the New Space Bridge Project to connect the scattered Transformer colonies. Motormaster, realizing that if this universe's denizens could save their world from destruction, the same could happen for the G1 World, is elated with hope.
>>11765716Jolt continues that the Space Bridge project developed into multiversal travel so that they could connect and collaborate with other universes. Motormaster speculates that his world could perhaps evacuate its population to those other worlds if needed. Spotting a display of the Ancients who began the original Space Bridge Project, Motormaster recognizes one of them as his rival on the road, Autobot Supreme Commander Optimus Prime! In the race, Dead End continues careening out of control as a fireball. He muses that perhaps it's finally his time to go and thinks back to his good times with the other Stunticons before he's rescued by Breakdown.
>>11765718Their tearful conversation elicits applause from the crowd, and the two sit out the rest of the race. It's down to the final two racers—Hot Shot and Dragstrip—as they enter a tunnel. Hot Shot uses his Cyber Key power to speed ahead, but Dragstrip has a trick up his sleeve; using his G2 power of Shadowstrip of moving instantaneously in darkness, the Stunticon slips ahead of his opponent and wins the race.
>>11765719Dragstrip doesn't appreciate the Autobot stopping the race just to help a fallen opponent, but Hot Shot points out that he did cross the goal already, even if his run ended in an accident. Hot Shot explains to Dragstrip that he had previously spurred help to win races, but that he was able to gain his first win with the help of his friends, just as Dragstrip had with his Stunticon comrades taking out the other racers (even if it's against the rules...).
>>11765720Celebrations are interrupted when the Nemesis goes out of control and Metroplex is called in to handle the wayward ship.
>>11765721To defend their ride, Motormaster transforms into Menasor by himself prompting Dragstrip to declare that it's their duty to help their leader.
>>11765722The four Stunticons combine, finishing up G2 Menasor and allowing him access to all of their superpowers
>>11765725With a ruby as lens, Menasor fells Metroplex with the Container Laser Cannon
>>11765726Before the battle can continue, Jolt rushes to stop the commotion, explaining to the giant Autobot the Stunticons' purpose in this universe.
Alone
Container Laser Cannon. Before the battle can continue, Jolt rushes to stop the commotion, explaining to the giant Autobot the Stunticons' purpose in this universe. He has talked with their Primus, who has explained that such color changes have occurred both in the unvierse that existed "before this one was created," and also in the past of this universe, where they were brought on a dark fog generated by the power of Unicron, the dark god who was destroyed in the previous universe. The Stunticons recognize this Unicron as different from the one they know and suppose that the dark fog must be a form of Angolmois Energy. The Nemesis, revealing its erratic behavior as the result of the strange fog, crashes and a figure emerges from the spaceship. It reveals itself as Nemesis Prime! Looking from afar, a cycloptic figure is satisfied with this turn of events, noting that a giant energon star will reset this universe...Notable things brought up:-Hot Shot recently reverted to his old sports car alt mode.-Forestonite is mentioned again, working how it did in that botcon story. It should be noted the material is mentioned in recent mp bios (which is currently doing a Cybertronian empire storyline, for some reason).-Takara initially had Galaxy Force as it's own thing, and not a continuation of Supwr Link, bur later had the same black hole excuse, even if no fiction touched upon it. Shockblast appears at the end, so maybe they'll finally so something with it.-Optimus is apparently "missing" not dead.
>Metroplex jobbing They did him so dirty.
>>11765735He jobbed against Menasor on steroids, so he did well enough.
Love how Sakamoto inserts toys from all over.
>>11765732Forgot to add a few minor things. The comic brings up the old universe designation from the club, and that they've moved to using the Legends world system which is simpler (but doesn't distinguish variant universes).-Wasp has been cured of his insect alt mode and has been cleared of all charges, still hates Bee.
>>11765710>Blurr's just hanging outWish we got more cute moments with alt universe counterparts like this.
>>11765702>breakdown in a puddle of his own piss>the author's barely disguised fetish
did you hear Hasbro might start using AI to design their figures?
>>11765732>ShockblastI has hoping it was this guy
>>11765634>>11765605nobody said they HAVE to or they're BEHOLDEN. It's just fun to think about, and yes it would be nice if a mold could be used to its fullest potential. If it was originally a combiner before, it could be a combiner again.
>>11765833Could be, but doesn't need to be. The focus should be on individual figures being good repaints. If they means they can't find a good use for Hook for example, then oh well. I doubt they're going to release Landfill with a pair of thighs he doesn't need. Also the idea of doing RiD Landfill from this set is stupid. They shouldn't be forcing ideas that are bad and don't work.
>>11765847you know you don't have to buy the figures you don't want.
>>11765732I know Sakamoto isn't a toy designer and thus does not know internally what future toy releases looks like but I really hope this is a sign that we will get a new Shockblast toy very soon, especially since we're getting Energon Scorponok of all bots in Leader Class next year.
Man...even at a discount, just looking at the patchy paint apps on his facial hair is already making me regret picking up this lazy ass retool.
>>11765732she cute
>>11765732>G2 Stunticons get superpowers like in funpub>G2 Breakdown doesn't get his superpower from funpubWeird. If Sakamoto was going to reference botcon, why not go all the way?
>>11765847The decos/heads are probably already done when they design the constructicons. We know that was the case for the CW Titan Devastator since Botcon was offered the heads/decos back in the day..
>>11765833They don't really need to make a whole new combiner for Scoop, he's already been part of Devastator before.I'm more curious about whether he'll have his target masters.
>>11765921I Just want Landfill, Quickmix would be neat too but I only had 2/3 double targetmaster autobots as a kid so they're the only ones I care about and I'm already happy with T30 Scoop.
>>11765920Janitors refuse to address the problem. I also think it's bullshit we still have time-limited threads on this board, that Ghostal memorial thread should've stayed.>introduce time-based auto-sage because of /tg/ necrobumper>remove it from /tg/ after a week>leave it on all the other boards
I know this will be a bit controversial here, but seeing new chapters of the Legends manga makes me really miss the old TFCC comics and prose stories. I know some of the people behind them are a bit controversial but it was nice getting stories focusing on lesser TF characters while Hasbro mostly stuck to the big names. Hell, Jim Sorenson still does occasionally work for Hasbro and other licensees, let him write a comic or something to tie into the newest Generations line just so we can get more than bio blurbs of a story
>>11765920That's because they hit the image limit
>>11765947It'd be nice just to get toy bios again. It's weird how the Legacy and AotP toylines are still conceived with a story in mind even though there's no media telling it. We're lucky to get even snippets of plot.
>>11765920Wild how active these are compared to every other general. At least the ones I post in.
>>11765921No, but this would be a good opportunity to get the other Targetmasters finished and while they're halfway done, get some other guys who could use new toys. what's the problem?tell me this is about some slot nonsense keeping you from getting the guys YOU want?
>>11765950Newfag
>>11765954>get some other guys who could use new toysSuch as?Your OCs who make up the other half of an Autobot Devastator who never existed don't count anon.
>>11765953Transformers are objectively the best boys toy. Cars, dinosaurs and robots all in one!
>>11765958what is your fucking problem?
>>11765961You didn't answer my question anon.
>>11765956I see the crybabies have entered the thread
>>11765954I'm mostly just afraid they use it as an excuse to dust off that shitty old CW Landfill idea. Which, ironically, would still leave out G1 Landfill.
>>11765962I didn't know I was on trial.WAT BACK, I made this post >>11761972 which seemed to cause all the triggering.so again, what is your fucking problem?
>>11765966They could pad it out with some guys from the Construction Patrol
>>11765967Wait I'm confused anon, are these "guys who could use new toys" or unknown question marks? Also you accused that other anon of just wanting his preferred characters to take up "slots". Well, what you think this also is? It also seems strange to say Scoop would take up a spot when we already know 100% he's coming.
>>11765973It was just having fun thinking who could be good repaints. I didn't know it was going to burn your ass so much. I don't give a fuck about slots, but I'm pretty sure that's what your big malfunction is all about.
>>11765981>I just made this up out of nothing but I'm pretty sure I'm right!!The "slot" thing makes literally no sense here.
So what are the chances the new leader class Lugnut has even 1/8th the SOVL of the old ROTF Voyager? Based on how price points work, there's a good chance he won't even be any bigger, which is tragic because that's really the only flaw with the original.
>>11765971You'd still need a crane for Hook. It would probably be some version of Hightower, and hopefully not RID Hightower.
>>11765990>ROTFI meant RTS, or whatever line he was in. Derp.
>>11765990I still think only commander class could do ol' Lug justice. The only improvement I hope this one has is for it not to have the "tail" hanging behind and that it makes better use of the plane parts.
Let the Autobot Devy posters cook
>>11765990Isnt it animated and not rotf?
>>11766011>Scoop>Quickmix>Landfill>Wedge >HightowerIdk who else
>>11766018The old RTS Lugnut was basically the Animated version being adapted into a more mainline aesthetic, which is presumably what the new one will be as well.
I am Wreck-Gar! I dare to be stupid!
>>11765988people tend to go autistic because they say hasbro has only so many available slots for figures a year and if they get filled with figures the anon doesn't want he can't the toys he wants.I mentioned it because that's the only reason I can figure that you're STILL making a big deal out of this like I suggested everyone go burn down your house or something. You STILL haven't told me what your whole problem is
>>11765991I was thinking Erector. They have him as a former Constructicon
>>11766029Someone previously mentioned Armada Scavenger for Bonecrusher, though someone else pointed out that already being green might not work.
>>11765990No chance
They released another wave of football helmet dudes on Pulse, btw - Buffalo Bills, the 49ers, and the Vikings. Apparently the Vikings dude is a Target Exclusive.
>>11765990I just want a fucking hulking mono eye bruiser, bros…
>>11766054>and if they get filled with figures the anon doesn't want he can't the toys he wants.Ok, but how does that not apply equally to you when you get disappointed they make actual characters people know and want instead of your headcanon Autobot Constructicons?>you're STILL making a big deal out of this like I suggested everyone go burn down your house or somethingUh huh yeah sure...except I didn't. I know you really want/need me to have done this for some reason, but just wanting it and deciding I did doesn't make it so.>You STILL haven't told me what your whole problem isI literally did. I took your post and disagreed with it. Nothing more, nothing less. Get over yourself faggot.
>>11765697so any black and teal guy has good and bad in him?
>>11765732I'd rather Sakamoto's comics get animated than any of the shit in energon universe
>>11766029Rollout
>>11766086He's ok
>>11766054I think he's actually just some autist sperg and doesn't even remember what he was having a melty about. So he's probably just committing to shitting up the thread
>>11766101Still cant believe they decided to retool this guy outta jhiaxus and not the other way around
>>11766080No, but there's a small trend of Unicron either being involved or creating Nemesis Primes. And there's the one time Cybertron Megatron(who has unicron bits) made his own Nemesis Leobreaker.
>>11766108There's also Minicons, who used greenish energy hues and combined into the teal Unicron of light, with Unicron adopting a black colorscheme in Energon.
>>11765732>rickenwait did they work on this too?
>>11766073(you)
>Stunticons actually feel like a proper team.Guess being around until the end of the Universe let them clear up most of their iaaues.
>>11766101>I think he's actually just some autist sperg and doesn't even remember what he was having a melty aboutHey faggot, can you point out where I had a "melty" in this thread besides pointing out to that other faggot "you didn't answer the question"? Yet another thread where ACTUAL autist spergs try to re-write the definition of the word and accuse someone else, btw...
>>11766122Your comment alone is literally proof of you melting
>>11766118>being around until the end of the UniverseWhere do I read the older stuff, it feels like I missed something
>>11766125Summaries are on tfwiki. They started an End of G1 universe story arc with an online comic promoting Dark Amber Leo, then had a other for Legendary Green Lion Lio Convoy and now for G2 Menasor. The plot draws from the precursor universe comics that came out to promote Star Convoy, Super Megatton, God Neptune and King Poseidon, the universe in that story waa ending and they wanted to use the energy from the universe that would replace it (the g1 universe). The current story is characters searching for energy sources to prevent the G1 universe from ending.
>>11766132>tfwikiI wanted something page-by-page, and also I've noticed that tfwiki takes a long time to load these days, not sure what's going on with that>Star ConvoyThe last few things I remember are slave revolts, Fire Convoy, and a whole bunch of different-colored Primes
how bad is the black paint chipping on galaxy shuttle?
>>11766124You've been melting this entire thread, sperg. All because some people don't give a shit about an Autobot Devastator.
>>11766144I'm not even related to your spergout, I just laughed at you having it
>>11766144You don't care but you won't shut up about it.Let it go, Elsa
>>11765883you would think with like, lasers and computers and shit, we would have perfectly figured out by now how to make precise paint apps down to the twentieth of a millimeter.
>>11765920Uhit's okay if they hit image limit. I'm not sure why one of them has 146, but the others have 151, I saw.>>11765925yeah seriously. this is not the right kinda board for that.
>>11766067wouldn't do to put it in walmart, minnesota barely has those. the metro area is totally walmart-free, but there's like 500 targets.however, the crossover between sports and transformers fans remains zero.
>>11766163>he says, while still posting about it himself
>>11766122when has this kind of response ever worked out?
>>11766169>however, the crossover between sports and transformers fans remains zero.Speak for yourself anon, I like transformers and sports. If they made one of the helmet guys for my team I'd buy it.But they're not even really made for transformer fans, they're made for NFL fans who want something fun to commemorate their team. If not a bot they'll buy a shirt, a jersey, a foam finger, an ice bucket, a bumper sticker or a million and one other bits of paraphernalia.
>>11766172>I like transformers and sports.. why?>Most people buying these will only like sports, not transformersyeah see. especially in the midwest, just saying. fuckers are joyless. you got made fun of for having toys past double digits.
>>11766170because we do care about the repaints. why wouldn't we continue to post, you dopenow answer again about how you don't care
>>11766190>.. why?Why what?>noooo you can only like one thing
>>11766260Except you're not posting about the repaints, you're posting about me. Did I really traumatize you that badly?
>>11766275I guess I just wanna know your reasoning. I have trouble picturing the same person explaining his like of each, since one requires... a totally alien mindset to the other. Meaning either I'm right and I expose you as a liar, or, more likely, you teach me some new perspective. My dad got into sports and cut his hair all short a few years before he died of a nervous breakdown, after six decades of being cool, so I don't really get it. I assumed the new gf did it. People watch real TV because their brains want stimulation that is not provided by guys running around on a field with a ball.
>>11766190>you got made fun of for having toys past double digits.you got made fun of for being a weird loner without charisma anon. You can be a toy collector so long as you're cool and popular
>>11766288mmm no, they said it was about toys. they were not creative enough to make up a lie, nor did they have any motivation to. They explicitly hated me right away for talking and havin long hair and being smart.I feel like you got mixed up and think I meant everywhere, rather than this specific time and place.
>>11766287>Meaning either I'm right and I expose you as a liarThe fact your brain went right to this is yet another example of the giga-autism I'm always mentioning in these generals. It's simple: I love Transformers, have since I was a kid. I also love playing sports and have since I was a kid as well. Do they require "alien mindsets" to each other? I suppose so, but so do any other two things you can think of, don't they?I don't know what to say about your dad besides "sorry" but I don't get what that has to do with sports, or transformers, or anything else. Maybe his gf did drive him crazy...he wouldn't be the first or the last. Also>tv>stimulation for your brain
>>11766287Get the chip off your shoulder. Sports fans can also get incredibly nerdy.
>>11766292Nah you were just insufferable, just from how you type I want to give you a swirlie.
>>11766285(you)
>>11766294chrissake anon, it was a joke. A little levity in a situation that might feel confrontational.>you enjoy playing sportswell shit, lots of people enjoy PLAYING them. but isn't watching them... almost the opposite? As the old saying goes "a football game is 20 people in desperate need of rest, and 20,000 in desperate need of exercise" or whatever.>>11766295I mean there's the ones who study it, sure. the ones who are into the stats. but that's hardly the same thing. That's like, people who enjoy watching tv shows and movies, vs people who obsess over celebrity gossip about the people IN those movies.>>11766298I hope someday you realize that makes you bad. Prolly not if it hasn't by now though. I'd love to see how you could talk about what I've gone through without sounding stupid. It's like trying to defend yourself against an accusation without sounding guilty. can't be done.
>>11766288Bingo. This anon gets it, dubs confirm. No one has ever, EVER made fun of me for liking transformers. And even if they did, I wouldn't care and would just flip it around on them.
>>11766301>well shit, lots of people enjoy PLAYING them. but isn't watching them... almost the opposite?Sort of...I don't disagree with that old saying. But some people watch sports because we know the game and appreciate it being played at a high level, because we were pretty good ourselves.I would imagine most toy collectors who follow sports are more of the watching variety, however.
>>11766303Lucky! I've heard tell of places like that.I didn't care either, just saying it happened. They had a very rigid set of norms that they could easily list on request, that everyone was held to. And none of it was questioned. and I've lived all over this wretched state. urban, suburban, rural...
>>11766305It's not about the place though anon, it's about the people. You could drop me right into wherever in your state and it would be the same for me. No one would ever dare or think to make fun of me, and even if they did I wouldn't care.
>>11766309Fascinating. What makes you think that? And we're talking about you as a kid, and in the 90s, too. No fair cheating and going with now. Now it's the place a guy had a fent overdose and the world ended. Negativity is not an allowed thing unless it's against a government agent doing his job.
What the fuck are you faggots talking about
>>11766312We're reminiscing about school and how it was being a kid into toys and stuff. We can stop if you want, it is kind of becoming a lot longer-winded than I ever intended.
>>11766311>you only think you're talking about this but you're really talking about that!I see we've gone full circle back to the autism. No one would make fun of me because I'm cool and good looking. It sounds shallow and it IS, that's the way the world works. It's why Joe Manganello doesn't get made fun of for playing Dungeons and Dragons, but you probably would.
>>11766317>you only thinkit's the subject at hand, dude. at no point did I ever say a kid who lives here NOW can't like toys. I have no fucking idea what kids are like now, and I haven't ever once been happy when I found out.I was the only cool and goodlooking guy around. That is NOT something they valued. That was very explicit. I was taller, stronger, further along in puberty than anyone else, with good diction, a pleasant voice, and an actual sense of humor because I was raised by parents who grew up in 70s socal. I was the only one into rock n' roll, instead of the rap and calling good things 'bad.'What they valued was ignorance and plainness. being even okay at school was considered extremely unbefitting of a boy. Only girls got good grades. Girls, maybe 1 or 2 very effeminate and/or overweight guys, and me. That was it. You could tell the guys COULD have gotten better grades, but refused to even do assignments, as failure felt socially obligated.Your experiences are yours, and pertain only to your area. If anyone's autistic, it's the one not grokking that.
>>11766323It's not the area anon, it's the people. And whatever gay little chain of command existed among the people you grew up with, I exist outside of it.>it's the one not grokking thatNigger what the hell is "grokking", like the AI site? Jesus christ we're just making up words on the spot now?
>>11766323>I have no fucking idea what kids are like now,And we weren't talking about kids either anon. You asked me how I (not a kid, for those keeping score) can like both transformers and sports so I answered.
>>11766332I see you're also a lot younger than me. I'm not familiar with the site you're talking about, but it must have been named for the old nerd phrase, which derives from Heinlein in the 60s but had a lot of use throughout the 80s.I'm glad you didn't grow up when and where I did. It wasn't the best. Who's your favorite in Transformers?>>11766335And you still haven't answered what it is you like about either (you mentioned playing them, but that's not what we're talking about either). My point was, in my upbringing, I never met anyone who liked both. So I'm curious how that works.
>>11766303Too many anons are super insecure about their toy collecting and it eminates off of them. People can tell. I've shown my collection to tons of people and get nothing but compliments. Honestly, the most common reaction is them finding a random character or shelf and then proceeding to gush about how much they love that particular franchise/character. I've had frat guys sperg out over my various anime figures, I've had yoked delivery guys absolutely lose their minds over my Dragon Ball collection (they were black, they are predisposed for loving DBZ), and various girls I've brought home all find a particular franchise or character they could relate to, be it TMNT, anime, Marvel, or video game characters. It all just depends on how you present not only your collection, but yourself. If your collection is organized, dusted, and not full of creepy gooner shit people aren't going to shit on it. And if you are a clean, confident, emotionally stable individual, then people aren't going to make fun of you for collecting toys. There are far dumber and more embarrassing things that people collect than little plastic effigies dedicated to movies, comics, TV shows, and other media that you really enjoy. The most negative comments I've gotten are related to how much the collection cost. But when I let them know it's been building over the course of a decade and a half, they get it more.
>>11766346yeah sure, now.that kind of thing usually starts in college, I think. Something about the public school environment, the fact that you're trapped there, that changes things. Makes it more prisony.
>>11766337waiwaiwait, I think I got it.so because they're fun to play, you like watching others play and... you can compare techniques and stuff? Get a bit of the fun you have by doing it, just by watching? I guess that tracks. I mean I like watching people play video games. But that seems a lot less repetitive to me than sports games. I mean, I wouldn't enjoy watching someone play Pac-man over and over and over for an entire 'season' of play. So it still feels kinda weird. Some of it is obviously just my taste, since I couldn't even enjoy Battlebots because of the sports announcers, those guys are just.. irritating in the extreme. (that and the fact the bots always broke down so, as the season went on, it was increasingly like watching the bot equivalent of old crippled men fighting)
>>11766351Jesus Christ anon just how autistic are you? You're one of the people who's answer to the question "what if you didn't have breakfast?" is "But I had breakfast".
>>11766354I mean that's the vibe I've been getting from you, so one of us is projecting.Consider that I was just describing my upbringing, which you seemed to deny so I had to confirm that's what happened, not just my assumption. Then you assumed you would do fine in that environment, as if you couldn't even picture a different scenario, and that I must just be imagining the one in conflict to your view. Kinda sounds like you're the autist here.
"Why do I get all the weirdo recruits? This guy sounds like he comes from the same place as Mindwipe!'
>>11766337>I see you're also a lot younger than me.I'm 45 so I doubt it, but if you say so. Favorite is Skywarp, always has been.>And you still haven't answered what it is you like about eitherConsidering you wouldn't be in this thread if you didn't like Transformers yourself I assume I shouldn't have to explain to you why I like them. I like sports because they're fun? And I'm athletic and enjoy competition? Don't know how else to answer that. And truth be told I don't even watch a lot of sports anymore anyway, I used to be a big NFL fan but the league is too corrupt and gay and I haven't followed it closely for years.>My point was, in my upbringing, I never met anyone who liked both.I get that, but your specific upbringing is a very small, myopic corner of the world anon. But I also wonder, if you were really so much cooler/stronger/better looking than these kids you grew up with as you claim, why you even cared what they thought? It would be like me caring about the pack of autists that was hounding me this whole thread because I don't want an Autobot Devastator (which you may have been one of, for all I know). They're like peons to me, insects even, so why would I care if they're mad at me or not? I'm asking you the same question.
>>11766359>Then you assumed you would do fine in that environment,No he didn't anon, because that was me, not him. You're talking to 2 different people. And yes I would do fine, seethe about it.
I wish they used Dev Optimus engineering on a voyager with the proper budget, that transformation has potential
>>11766373Well that's the thing, I wasn't sure if your transformers answer would be the same as mine.>league is too corrupt and gayshit I didn't even get INTO that, but yeah.>why do I care what they thoughtJust because I remember doesn't mean I care. I mean I feel bad for them being so warped. I don't see my inferiors as insects, but as dumb puppies that I don't want growing up to be Michael Vick's dogs, y'dig?
>>11766373>I'm 45 so I doubt it, but if you say so.Well uhhhhI'm 45 thousand.Million.
Does anyone know how tall Beast Wars characters are supposed to be? I'm putting them with other robots from other series on my shelf and I want to scale them vaguely. (Obviously not 100%)
>>11766451https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnK0x2r_ZMwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxknK04Ybd8Looks like it varies from "half of Megatron's size" to "the size of Optimus' head"
>>11766451They're tiny compared to G1 guys. The big ones like transmetal Megatron are like minibot size.I would just toss out cartoon scale if you want them on the same shelf and just go for your own personal canon toy universe scale. So a deluxe is a deluxe on my shelf, no matter what show they came from.
https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5288736062965141https://youtube.com/shorts/vkhfMDbBxQI?si=vPKPEYLjbNXXIji8
>>11766458Fuck yeah, I need 50 of them to create the Great Wall.
>>11766453yeah they acknowledged that they fucked up the scale in part 1, and in part 2 we immediately see Megatron menacing a much smaller PrimeI think the problem is they were thinking of TM1 megatron as like, human size.
>>11766468Not even we're all human-sized
>>11766473tru dat. You got your Deep Roys and your Andre the Giants, though it feels like they catch both of those situations a lot sooner these days and treat them.
>>11766435You don't look a day over 50
>watching review of figure that came out this year>reviewer calls the 5mm peg holes "mechtech ports"
>>11766489I still remember PVP calling the Red Baron's triplane a fighter jet.
>>11766489they'll always be 'blox joints' to me.
>>11766489those are obviously evo-fusion ports
>>11766495God, blox had some cool designs but those rubber ports were a disaster.
>>11765990How big is he? I'm wondering if he can even top the voyager's height as a modern leader class, especially since he'll needs to be pretty wide.
>>11766501i haven't had any trouble with them yet, though obviously none of them can hold much weightI'd say the bigger issue is they kinda cheaped out (you can tell Hasbro was at least calling a few of the shots). The whole idea is you can make anything you want, but far too many limbs had totally molded, immobile joints, and thus wouldn't make much good other parts.. and the heads were all tiny, so any big combined thing you made was stuck microcephalic.
>>11765920We run toytown
Well that's nice. Decided to futz with the recent Cybertron Hot Shot and the clear plastic 5mm peg on the gun just snapped off in his hand. Clean break but I'm still disappointed cause this toys what...2 years old now?
>>11765954>>11765981Other guys like who? Are there any good fits for Hook, Scavenger and Bonecrusher? Do they HAVE to be repainted? They could go without giving them any reuses and nothing would change or be lost. And we certainly don't need to force a bad idea just to make a mold repaint happen, like RiD Landfill. And honestly, if it spergs out some autist because it leaves toys that combiner without a full group to make a new combination because they think it's an obligation to do so, it's absolutely worth it.>>11765971That is a garbage idea.
>>11766541I guess note to self, don't leave the Gun in his hand
>>11766458This is way better than that beastbox garbage. At least this actually transforms into something.
What could deluxe wheelie even accomplish that his core class didnt?
>>11766661Being more expensive
>>11766502>a modern leader classclasses are meaningless now. They're just a price point. Very likely that a modern leader class could indeed be smaller than the old Lugnut.
>>11766548you're still having a conniption over this?
>>11766548>And honestly, if it spergs out some autist because it leaves toys that combiner without a full group to make a new combination because they think it's an obligation to do so, it's absolutely worth it.Lol this. Feature, not a bug.
>>11766502>>11766674To clarify, that Lugnut is a manlet like every Lugnut has been.
So Hearts of Steel Megs is kind of awesome. His shoulder-wheels obviously get in the way, but it's a small price to pay for his bitchin' silhouette. Also helps that his proportions, in general, are really fucking cool. Like he's got great "just standing there" energy. He even manages to make that "off-black" brown plastic look good, somehow.
When you browbeat the boss into taking a group photo
>>11766720that thing still transform?
>>11766711It's been so long since I've looked at the concept art I legit forgot he was supposed to be black. I thought the brown was intentional for the steampunk vibes.
>see new toy>want it>remember how much i hate the quality of new toys>don't buy it>see someone else enjoying it>regret not buying it>its price has now doubled
>>11766796Just buy the good ones like SS86
>>11766801>SS86>goodlol. lmao, even.
>>11766780If I pop the titplate off, she gets 90% of the way there. The main issue is that I can't connect the tank-barrel to the backpack due to her head being larger than SS1 Megs' and filling up the whole chest cavity. Her lower body, and some of the accessories, are from an OSKO SS1 Megs I got on Aliexpress for $5. The waist connector/extension and titplates I designed myself, and the head is from Mavs3d (resized it and modified the neck a little). Oh and the hands are some upgrade hands I got for literally 1 penny on ebay (seller mispriced them).
>>11766813>the one outright bad 86 toyNo line can be perfect
>>11766813every ss86 toy is greateven this one. It sucks just because the earthrise existsbut still earthrise has that horrible skin condition and weird shit stains AND the train mode sucks assSo even in this field ss86 is still the best AstroTrain. AND it comes witha LE HECKIN smoke effect AND MOVING WHEELS of classic steam train that move all together which transformers never ever did beforeSo..yeah. I'd say that SS86 is the best.
>>11766855>So..yeah. I'd say that SS86 is the best.
All they had to do was remove the train car in exchange for more vehicle tooling + no battle paint>fuck up all 3 modes instead
>>11766711>off-black" brown plasticIt's called"gunmetal".
>Prime!
>>11766870>One shall stand, one shall fall...
>>11766872>Why throw away your life so recklessly?
>>11766874>That's a question you should ask yourself, Megatron...
>>11766865No. Gunmetal is a cool, dark, blue-ish gray. Not brown.
Could someone with the western release TR broadside please post some well lit photos of him in carrier mode please? With attention to the deck and "joints" of each section. I got one from ebay that I took a bit of a rare gamble on and im not sure if it's the thing bothering me (some scuffed tampographs and possible discolouring) or an unrelated sale that fell through with no communication (full refund atleast but would have been nice to get the bot)
>>11766916
>>11766585that, or do leave it
>>11766796that sounds like you need to pull out completely
>>11766862>skipped leg day, arm day and head day
>>11766916>>11766968imagine this but BIGwhy some chinese company didnt do a giant transformer ship for 1000bucks so some tech millenial would buy it as "divorse toy"
>>11766990Probably because Broadside sucks
>>11766990they did make a bigger one.https://tfsource.com/3rd-party-figures/01s06-boardcon-01studio/?srsltid=AfmBOor9qU_56L4STy29OOgI0pL0nGM3GpN_bOWBoHxHhZMe8ZqWjwJs
>>11766993Broadside could be could if someone would just make the effort. It's a simple design. I don't know how they keep fucking it up.
>>11766998Not to be a size queen but that's only 16 inches. We need something the size of the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier.
>>11766862man I wish I'd bought siege astrotrain when he was still being stocked
>>11766990Because the bigger you go the more expensive the toy and thus the less buyers you have and the more risk there is in losing money in the process. Hasbro figured it out too. This is why Unicron was a HasLab toy.
>>11766990Toyseasy is already cornering the shipfag market by making a bunch of foot tall boatformers, Broadside being big just isn't important enough to really sell
>>11766916A shot of the stern in natural light, the panels on mine don't always play nice, and some of those stickers have gotten mangled over time.
>>11766990There’s currently a big G1 Broadside coming out
>>11766674I meant to imply that even the bigger ones barely reach the height of old leader classes
>>11766855You are trolling and it's immensely cringe because you're not even good at it
>>11765742They don't use FunPub's complicated designations; Flatline mocks it>>11766138Ngl I feel like you can count on 1 hand, the number of people who are a TF fan + can read japanese & english
SS86 is consistently good, but all of them great? Not when Kup and Arcee exist
>>11767082sunstreaker and wheeljack?
>>11767075To be fair, the Legends style only really works here because Takara decided to stuff everything into JG1. It wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to make Magami's manga part of it as well, even if it doesn’t make any sense
>>11767056Can he fit the aerialbots on the deck?
>>11766862I wish the new Astrotrain was better, I hate Siege Astrotrain so much, it's such a piece of shit. I wanted to replace it so bad.

>>11767141>>11767008Really, I would just love a Titan class Broadside. They could repaint him into Flattop
For some reason Target had Airachnid clearanced to $14. She's pretty great!>>11767144Mark stop trying to build up hype and just reveal your haslab Broadside already.
>>11767094Nice figures, but can you really give the credit to 86 when they're just repaints of WFC molds? See also Galvatron and Blaster.

You guys make realistic military altmode guys sound cool.
>>11767253Its possible to like the implementation of the Bayverse using real life equipment, and dislike the shit stories of those same movies. Even NEST wasn't a bad idea, just handled awfully. Humans always end up working with autobots, its preferabble that its' military retards than retarded kids working with giant robots.
>>11766862It wouldn't fix the arms, and I get that low detail like muh cartoon is the point, but I'm so used to third parties not having any details sculpted on them at all to match the cartoon that this just looks like a early third party figure, especially compared to Siege which is sculpted detail porn by comparison
>>11767256>Even NEST wasn't a bad ideaI miss that Allspark Blue era of figures, guys like Landmine are still great years later and only cost around $12. I can't imagine taking something like Payload home and paying nearly $30 for him.
"Perhaps I won't pay TaxesI simply don't believe in them""Does your evil know no limits Megatron?"
>>11767289Why would he pay his taxes when he could crush them with his bare hands?
>>11767056man, I was so excited for this... and then they revealed those fucking terrible alt modes
>>11767250I honestly would have preferred this guy over Guardian Robot because I prefer this deco and we need more evil Titans
>>11767339wow there's a lot of detail on him. Are those reprolabels or something?
the little deluxe authentics Megatron is surprisingly good for what it is, I only wish his knees were a little lower and that his cannon and hips were molded black instead of painted
Why is Hasbro Pulse more expensive than BBTS when it comes to G2 Menasor.
ALL HAIL SLASH, KING OF DINOBOTS!
>>11767402ladies can be kings. I read it in a book somewhere.also jeez, I didn't realize these dinobots were so big.. their designs look really simplified like big deluxes or small voyagers.
>>11767402Your majesty! I grovel at your feet!
>I've got to help Prime!>Stay away lad! That's Prime's fight!
>>11767102I am exhausted about that assumption that takara made everything into jg1 when it isn't the case, Legends is a multiverse setting; Takara clearly states "we have our own multiverse", only for ppl to state that "muh they'll make Overgear part of jg1" or some similar shit
>>11767406>oh, sure. Just ignore me. Ignore a 4 million year old veteran. It's not like I know what's what or anything, Primus help me, what happened to respecting the chain of command?

>>11767402i really like how Slash fits perfectly to SS86 dinobots.quality of build and colors and all.It looks like it was released as a bonus with one of other dinobots.

>>11767333Maybe Fanstoys one is closer to your liking>>11767158>>11767170Though he is somewhat larger
>>11767409>Neither of them listen and Optimus ends up deadand>hot rod turns into Rodimus Prime and his young, excited nature turns into a leader who wants to go back to being a teenager and constantly feels guilty and unworthy, which is why he degenerates further and further into depressionHot Rod is a young hero that wanst to go his own way. He's not a leader and i never saw him like one. He's more like adventurous Peter Pan-like character just more "heroic and cool".Man...just one stupid mistake and a lack of ability to listen to a person with experience and all of Transformers history goes to shit.(i'm talking about G1 story)PS:Wait...but...yeah.If Prime never died and Hot Rod didn't became Rodimus - they would never kill Unicron and i guess they all would die eventually.I guess Hot Rod was a "Jeesus" also. just like Optimus. Only he sacrificied his own ego.
>>11767422The PotP Dinobots couldn't do the translucent + tech detail the way the original toys did with how cheap they were made, Slash gets it done right since she's so small.
>>11767426I like Hot Rod taking on the mantle of leadership in the context of the movie, but everything that came after with Rodimus was annoying and bad. I think the reluctant leader characterization would have actually worked for Magnus if he'd taken thing over for real though. I always found his self doubt endearing rather than whiny. Like, not seeing himself as any better than the rest of the rank and file only makes him cooler and more worthy to lead.
>>11767431>I think the reluctant leader characterization would have actually worked for Magnusyeah it would be perfect if Magnus was just a boring normal leader like Leonardo or Cyclops from the 90s X-men but the main hero still was Hot Rod.they could have easily just made Magnust a leader BUT Hot Rod was the main hero that HELPED him and autobots to defeat Unicron and bring peace.
>WHAM!
>>11767474>I'll crush you with my bare chunk of debris!
>>11767476>*thunk*
>>11767426>>11767431
OUT OF THE WAY, HOT ROD!
>>11767407I meant that in more of “everything from G1 to CR is one long continuity that Takara constantly returns to”. I know not everything is in JG1
>>11767403>their designs look really simplified like big deluxes or small voyagers. To be fair, they're meant to look like the cartoon versions which did simply the designs for animation. Grimlock actually had molded detail in his translucent neck which they painted over in a solid gold.
>>11767431Yeah, it was kind of stupid that Hot Rod was The Chosen One only for him to be fumbling so much. Really, he should've be, naturally, a better leader right out of the gate if he was supposed to be so "chosen"
>>11767503They really call CR G1? What kind of timeline fuckery is at play here?
>>11767518Car Robots is a part of Japanese Beast Wars continuing after Beast Wars II and Neo and since Beast Wars is a part of G1, yeah.
>>11767518Yep, that’s why people used to constantly ask whether or not the RID Autobots are meant to be Maximals in disguise since they come from the future in CR. It’s also why the main villains are called Destrongers instead since the ending of Neo shows the Cybertrons and Destrons forming an era of peace in order to rebuild Cybertron after Unicron is defeated
Was combiner wars viper made of bubblegum and dreams or did I finally get hit with the unlucky stick? Some quick searching brought up a tfw thread with qc issues and concerns of ko/factory rejects, and mine has a few stress marks and this crack out of the box. His head was even half turned in the box hiding a paint scratch on his nose so maybe a sneaky repack?
>>11767522>>11767533Concept art for Fire Convoy had a Maximal logo. I wish they went with it.

>>11767536A new Viper is coming in 2027, walmart exclusive.
>>11767537Looking up at picture made me find these. I wish we got a MP Car Brothers with this much detail and proportions. Or even 3p. The legacy one we got was horrible and even if they did a MP now it'd probabaly have less details to match the anime. Theres a bunch of transmetals 1 art with this much detail too I cant find right now
>>11765689I dont know if it's just me but I hope we get repaints of these in more brighter colourschemes. Black looks (tacti)cool but I love colors on my robots. I wonder what they're going go with for Optimus
>>11767543A lot of this artwork is in the Beast Generations guidebook (which sadly has never been released in English) but it looks like the Internet Archive upload of it was taken down. I managed to save a couple of pages for the time being, though nothing of the Transmetals concept art
>>11767536Yes it has a KOAnd yes CW had shitty QC
Post your favorite unmade toys
>>11767543The legacy one was unfortunate, not a good Sideburn at all, but it's also not a good Shadow Striker either. And then haslab Omega Prime went the way it did. I wish Takara went and did CR properly on their own.
>>11767563I'll always be annoyed that Volkswagen refused to work with HasTak on Alternators because the Bumblebee concept art looks so cool

>>11766968>>11767048Thanks anons. Looking at these and my copy in actual daylight I can only conclude there is a bit of discolouration (the deck panel above the 6 segment, I am convinced) on mine and odd scratches/dings especially on the pins, which is odd as the aerialbots are still on the sprue. what is the best bayverse toy?price to toy quality wise,i am thinking bout getting the shockwave one.
>>11767630I don't know about "best", but the only one I still have in my collection is Human Alliance Bumblebee and he's pretty cool.
>>11767630I really like Stockade but he's almost not even a bayverse style guy. Hailstorm fits the aesthetic more and is great, so is Terradive. RotF era had some of the best bayformer guys imo.
>>11767630Something from the ROTF/HFTD lines, probably. The ROTF Leader Optimus is the most iconic. I have a soft spot for the DOTM Seeker mold, though.

>>11767538>>11767558After much research and digging, I have concluded he is a factory reject/run off/extra fun time party mode run of viper given his upside down chest badge (which should have been obvious, but I assumed it was a jet mode gi joe thing)His silver arms, the wing logo looking more washed out and dry and more brown than gold missile bits.At the very least, he doesnt smoke crack.
>>11767672I knew as soon as I saw EVA Prime that it was an Evasion OP retool but regardless, it's a very clever mold choice and Takara has done an excellent job with the retool. I'm very tempted to get it.

I guarantee you that the BW triple changers like >>11767664 were never going to happen for that exact reason. Although, the last six changer did end up becoming Sixshot so anything’s somewhat possible
>>11767773They've seriously never topped this?
>>11767786Nope.

>>11767794So, they are not painting the treads? Are you kidding me now?3 "new" releases, all fucking old models.

>>11767791I don’t know how to feel about this one. Why couldn’t they reissue his Earthrise mold with the toon deco?

I continue to be glad I don't care about SS86. they make a new figure? trash. they repaint an old figure for accuracy? trash. they retool a recent mold? trash.
studio series feels like its budget has been obliterated. it's like 90% repaints now and the few new molds are shockingly bad

cyberworld enjoyers stay winning in seriousness though, I really hope they give us an armored cyber changer dinobot somewhere down the line. The gear based spinning blade and sword are like, perfect cyberworld accessories already.
>>11767909>>11767916>>11767906Dunno why people are surprised. Cliff was always going to be a 86 Bee remold and Kingdom Cyclonus is pretty much perfect so they just need a better deco and fix the yellowing. Blitzwing probably isnt old enough to justify a new mold yet so just make the deco better and it's ok.I'm ok with Astro despite most people hating him but Shockwave is the one I actively dislike since Siege is so old now and he's so short compared to the other main 3 Decepticons and his deco still looks off.
>>11767951>I'm ok with AstroJust put this at the front of your post so we know to disregard it.

A part of me wants to like Cyclonus, but genuinely can’t stand him in season 3, and then idw went and made him pure cringe
>>11768043What is bad about Season 3 Cyclonus? He's competent and loyal.
>>11767983Devastation is dogshit, SS86 is better.
Glad Cyclonus is more than just a package refresh, makes holding off on the Kingdom version feel more worth it for me. Blitzwing's jet mode still looks like shit, but at least it looks like it's actually the DCS colors. Again, glad I held off on the Legacy release. Cliff doesn't look bad to me either, but I'm also someone who doesn't hate the SS86 mold.>>11768043>>11768047This, Cyclonus being the warrior with a code of honor is one of the only things I like about season 3. Shame about his misplaced loyalty to insane retard Galvatron though.
>I'll crush you with my bare lightsaber!
>>11768043>and then idw went and made him pure cringeMany, MANY such cases!>>11768047>He's competent and loyal.NTA, but look who he's loyal to.And actually, you never want a sycophant as your second in command. A good second in command will speak out against his leader when necessary and offer a dissenting perspective when needed. Obviously you don't want your number two going full Starscream either, but season 3 Cyc goes too far in the other direction. (and that would be even if Galvatron was worthy and competent...which he wasn't)
>>11768058>Shame about his misplaced loyalty to insane retard Galvatron though. That's what makes him a tragic figure
>>11768066He's the Ying to Galvatron's Yang
lol
>>11768069aside from the stumpy arms, this looks pretty good by combiner standards.
>>11768066He did try to get Galvatron focused on the task at times. And sent him to a mental health planet.
>>11768066>Obviously you don't want your number two going full Starscream eitherUnless it's Armada Starscream. Who was competent, about as loyal as any version of that character could ever be and gave his life to prove a point when he thought his commander was making a bad call.
>>11768073anytime people discuss 'a starscream' I always think of how hilarious Terrorsaur ison the surface he's a fucking buffoon, but every single act of his shows just what a complete loose cannon lunatic Megatron is. He's such a fringe actor that, even with his golden disk and knowledge of earth, the BEST predacons he could get were a double agent mad scientist, a loyal but absent-minded tech guy who was a few dilithium crystals short of a warp core, a Zuko who deserted him the MOMENT the situation looked even slightly like Megatron had failed, a goofball that speaks in first person, and the world's most unsubtle and ineffective Starscream. Megatron SAYS he keeps everyone around because they're useful, but it's clear that he just took what he could get, and all the rest of the preds think he's a retard. And at the end when he becomes a religious fanatic, it's not even a surprise. He was INCREDIBLY lucky to keep winning stasis pods and getting more useful allies, and even those had a tendency to defect or die.
>>11768069What did he mean?
>>11768067In one of many cases of G1 accidentally being more nuanced and intelligent than future Transformers media, G1 Cyclonus is a bot conflicted between his hard-baked duty and his intelligence in a situation with no good sides. He settles into the Decepticons as second-in-command at a time when their infraestructure is completely gone; he doesn't have any institutions, divisions, or ships to guide the cause away from Galvatron, all Cyclonus and everyone else has left is Galvatron, and he is the only hope for the Decepticons to steer Galvatron into a productive path for the cause of carrying the ideals and history of the Decepticons into the future or facing oblivion. At least being defeated with Megatron at the helm would've preserved their honor; under Galvatron, defeat means losing everything.IDW Cyclonus is just a generic samurai guy.>>11768071Abominus was surprisingly good.
>>11768075I always thought it was crazy, but really cool, that Dinobot was what the average Predacon was like in that era.
>>11768072>And sent him to a mental health planet.Yeah, and the one time he did something proactive to try to reign in his leader in it was because he fell for a Quintesson trick to have him lobotomized.
I was considering picking up one of my dumb ideas for customs so I went to check if there were any KO Sinnertwins to use as a base for Chainclaw, but they were all sold out. What the fuck?
>>11768080was he? I got the impression Dinobot was the opposite of Megatron, that both were extreme weirdos among the Preds.Like essentially the predacons are like post-war Germany trying very hard NOT to look like nazis, but at least some of them keeping in their back pockets 'hey we may have to fight again someday, let's just get everyone to calm down first, stop seeing us as a potential threat' and here's this goose-stepping loser talking about golden plates, and they're like jesus fucking christ dude, you're ruining everythingand Dinobot was more like the noble teutonic soldier who thinks he's a fucking viking and is barely aware the war happened as we know it. he just knows he killed some dudes and got medals.
>>11768084KO stock is notoriously unreliable
>>11768069You are like babywatch this
>>11768090>Like essentially the predacons are like post-war Germany trying very hard NOT to look like nazisThis comparison is hilarious to me, because I always looked at BW Megatron taking his name from the Covenant of Primus/original Megatron as the in universe equivalent of a guy deciding to call himself Hitler II after reading Mein Kampf. Like, you've got the Tripredacus Council desperately trying to keep a lid on things until they feel they're ready for war while a dude who named himself after the greatest war criminal in history is running around with a gang of mercenaries stealing starships and Energon. Can't really fault the Maximals for giving all Preds the side eye at that point.
>>11768102exactly.and I like that the show didn't try to paint the main predacons as good, either. Just... peaceful. Because peace and goodness are not the same fucking thing. Peace is when the bad guys aren't acting so the good guys don't have to react. and Beast Wars and fucking Star Trek showed that better than anyone. and it gets more and more relevant with each year, when fucking Cardassians constantly violate borders, abuse sentient beings, and infiltrate everyplace they can get their spoonheaded selves to.
Found Sideways at Walmart today after finding Nexus at Target last week. My only real complaint with Sideways is the feet and mini-cons. The mini-cons need some paint touch ups. Hoping to find Liege Maximo in the wild eventually
>>11767959Just hoping this version of Cyclonus doesn't yellow
>>11768043>then idw went and made him pure cringe>>11768066>Many, MANY such cases!Desu I really liked IDW Cyclonus UNTIL they made him gay. Him being a weird poetic father figure to Tailgate (who is way older than him) to the point of inspiring him to want to be a Decepticon is cool. Them becoming love interests is fucking retarded and weird with the whole father-son dynamic they have and at that point I'm out
>>11768079You've got to appreciate how G1 Season 3 really tried to change up the status quo. The Autobot leader was no longer the wise team dad but someone with doubts and a bit of inferiority complex. The Decepticon leader was completely batshit and sometimes as much a danger to his own troops as he was to the enemy. The Decepticon second in command was actually loyal and competent, with a sense of honor. The Quintessons didn't only expand the lore but were essentially a third faction. They really took a risk changing things up so much.
>>11767563I know it shouldn't hurt that much anymore now that the Legacy figure exists but it's still there just a little bit
>>11768145Indeed. Shame that kinda thing never became the norm.I will say though, all of my favorite TF shows have one thing in common: they started out with the good guys at a severe disadvantage, occasionally their entire faction but typically just the ragtag group we're following.

>>11768145>>11768153I was too young for it at the time but I kind of imagine if I had seen the shift to Season 3 and Robotech together it would have set me up for impossible standards TV channels would air cartoons that would be willing to go beyond a "everything needs to be reset by the end of the 22 minutes" style. >>11768946I'm betting they'll make another coronation set for Starscream or something cause I tried it with my SS and Thundercracker here to the same results. Capr you can kind of fudge if extended fully. A new coronation set wouldn't hurt since the mold won't fit in with the 86 collection if folks care about that enough
