I always liked how Cheetor and Ringo have the same catch phrase, and now we've added 'over' to it!
>>
Mystery of Speedia 500

This toy tie in is 24 pages so here we go!

Aboard Untite's ship, Bluebolt explains to Dark Amber Leo Prime that Lio Convoy's green color and his dark amber color is the result of exposure to righteous Angolmois Energy and malevolent Angolmois Energy, respectively, examples of the color changing phenomenon. Such color changes can come from all sorts of power ups, including those induced by Energon Matrices and forestonite during the G2 era. Forestonite has the same power as Energon Matrices, and this is why the veteran Stunticons have embarked on a journey to find more forestonite.
>>
>>11765697
In the Nemesis, the Stunticons find a black hole, intending to go through to the other side. Dead End, ever pessimistic, doesn't mind the risk, what with the universe ending and all, while Wildrider relishes the thrill. Breakdown, on the other end, is terrified and not very good at hiding it. Dragstrip, on the other hand, is frustrated because this kind of space exploration isn't for him. He was built to be number one in racing, and none of this stuff interests him.
>>
>>11765689
the overgear designs look cool but they also look like the toys will be excessively fiddly like alternators & the 07 bayformers
>>
>>11765698
After he crosses the line in insulting the other Stunticons, Motormaster shuts down the whining, pointing out that they got this important job thanks to their record as a former scout squad, but get violent when the dismissive F-1 racer brings up his leader's rivalry with Optimus Prime.
>>
>>11765701
Crossing into the black hole, the Stunticons and the ship are affected by the dimension's forestonite particles, inducing a G2-style color change in their bodies.
>>
>>11765702
In 2010, four Transformers had went into a black hole and experienced similar changes, but did not investigate why then. Now it is realized that it was the result of the presence of forestonite. The Stunticons spot a rift that's pulling them in, and they willingly decide to enter.
>>
>>11765703
On the other side, they find the planet Velocitron (known as Speedia over in Japan) during one of its many races. In the race, the New Decepticon Trio attempt to use their Rocket Car to interfere with Hot Shot.
>>
>>11765704
Hot Rod manages to escape their clutches with Cyber Key power, and the three malicious doofuses end up crashing and arrested by police. The scenario speaks to Dragstrip's inner soul as a racer.
>>
>>11765705
The Stunticons are brought before Flatline, who explains that Velocitron is now a destination of multiversal travel since the denizens of this universe began the Multiverse Space Bridge Project. Looking up their origin, Flatline determines the Stunticons to be from the G1 World during the G2 era and, despite Motormaster's protestations, impresses them into racers to help generate energy for the planet and marks them with the G2 Decepticon insginia.
>>
>>11765706
. The doctor also gives them new livery to reflect their forestonite-granted abilities.
>>
>>11765707 (You) #
When they're let go, Motormaster ignores the entire racing thing, wanting to get back to their actual goal, which upsets Dragstrip, who swears off the other Stunticons to race to his heart's content. Motormaster doesn't appreciate the insubordination and walks off on his own to complete their mission to save their universe. Dragstrip runs into Hot Shot, and the two gas each other up for the next race.
>>
>>11765709
In the next Speedia 500 race, many Transformers from different universes participate: Prowl and Wasp from the Animated World; Knock Out and Breakdown from the Prime World; Lockdown and Shadow Striker from the Cyberverse World; champion and leader of Velocitron, Hot Shot; and Dragstrip from the G1 World. The other three Stunticons survey the race's spectators, figuring that they're all from worlds in their post-war era and decide to join the race.
>>
>>11765710
. Elsewhere, Motormaster, figuring he should learn about this universe's history, runs into the Mini-Con Jolt, who offers to serve as Motormaster's guide
>>
>>11765711
The race begins and Breakdown manages to take out both Knock Out and the other Breakdown with his oil-leaking.
>>
>>11765712
Wildrider's swerving causes Wasp to peter out, and Prowl jumps on the reckless Stunticon, forcing both off the racetrack—Wildrider activates his anti-grav gear and the two career off into the sky.
>>
>>11765714
Dead End uses his fireball charge to rush through the Cyberverse racers, and Shadow Striker is forced to take care of a disassembled Lockdown.

In the "Shrine of Speedia", Jolt explains to Motormaster about his universe: after stopping the Grand Black Hole that threatened their world, they began the New Space Bridge Project to connect the scattered Transformer colonies. Motormaster, realizing that if this universe's denizens could save their world from destruction, the same could happen for the G1 World, is elated with hope.
>>
>>11765716
Jolt continues that the Space Bridge project developed into multiversal travel so that they could connect and collaborate with other universes. Motormaster speculates that his world could perhaps evacuate its population to those other worlds if needed. Spotting a display of the Ancients who began the original Space Bridge Project, Motormaster recognizes one of them as his rival on the road, Autobot Supreme Commander Optimus Prime!

In the race, Dead End continues careening out of control as a fireball. He muses that perhaps it's finally his time to go and thinks back to his good times with the other Stunticons before he's rescued by Breakdown.
>>
>>11765718
Their tearful conversation elicits applause from the crowd, and the two sit out the rest of the race. It's down to the final two racers—Hot Shot and Dragstrip—as they enter a tunnel. Hot Shot uses his Cyber Key power to speed ahead, but Dragstrip has a trick up his sleeve; using his G2 power of Shadowstrip of moving instantaneously in darkness, the Stunticon slips ahead of his opponent and wins the race.
>>
>>11765719
Dragstrip doesn't appreciate the Autobot stopping the race just to help a fallen opponent, but Hot Shot points out that he did cross the goal already, even if his run ended in an accident. Hot Shot explains to Dragstrip that he had previously spurred help to win races, but that he was able to gain his first win with the help of his friends, just as Dragstrip had with his Stunticon comrades taking out the other racers (even if it's against the rules...).
>>
>>11765720
Celebrations are interrupted when the Nemesis goes out of control and Metroplex is called in to handle the wayward ship.
>>
>>11765721
To defend their ride, Motormaster transforms into Menasor by himself prompting Dragstrip to declare that it's their duty to help their leader.
>>
>>11765722
The four Stunticons combine, finishing up G2 Menasor and allowing him access to all of their superpowers
>>
>>11765725
With a ruby as lens, Menasor fells Metroplex with the Container Laser Cannon
>>
>>11765726
Before the battle can continue, Jolt rushes to stop the commotion, explaining to the giant Autobot the Stunticons' purpose in this universe.
>>
Alone
>>
Container Laser Cannon. Before the battle can continue, Jolt rushes to stop the commotion, explaining to the giant Autobot the Stunticons' purpose in this universe. He has talked with their Primus, who has explained that such color changes have occurred both in the unvierse that existed "before this one was created," and also in the past of this universe, where they were brought on a dark fog generated by the power of Unicron, the dark god who was destroyed in the previous universe. The Stunticons recognize this Unicron as different from the one they know and suppose that the dark fog must be a form of Angolmois Energy. The Nemesis, revealing its erratic behavior as the result of the strange fog, crashes and a figure emerges from the spaceship. It reveals itself as Nemesis Prime! Looking from afar, a cycloptic figure is satisfied with this turn of events, noting that a giant energon star will reset this universe...

Notable things brought up:

-Hot Shot recently reverted to his old sports car alt mode.
-Forestonite is mentioned again, working how it did in that botcon story. It should be noted the material is mentioned in recent mp bios (which is currently doing a Cybertronian empire storyline, for some reason).
-Takara initially had Galaxy Force as it's own thing, and not a continuation of Supwr Link, bur later had the same black hole excuse, even if no fiction touched upon it. Shockblast appears at the end, so maybe they'll finally so something with it.
-Optimus is apparently "missing" not dead.
>>
>Metroplex jobbing
They did him so dirty.
>>
>>11765735
He jobbed against Menasor on steroids, so he did well enough.
>>
Love how Sakamoto inserts toys from all over.
>>
>>11765732
Forgot to add a few minor things. The comic brings up the old universe designation from the club, and that they've moved to using the Legends world system which is simpler (but doesn't distinguish variant universes).
-Wasp has been cured of his insect alt mode and has been cleared of all charges, still hates Bee.

It's just fun to think about, and yes it would be nice if a mold could be used to its fullest potential. If it was originally a combiner before, it could be a combiner again.
>>
>>11765833

Could be, but doesn't need to be. The focus should be on individual figures being good repaints. If they means they can't find a good use for Hook for example, then oh well. I doubt they're going to release Landfill with a pair of thighs he doesn't need.

Also the idea of doing RiD Landfill from this set is stupid. They shouldn't be forcing ideas that are bad and don't work.

I know Sakamoto isn't a toy designer and thus does not know internally what future toy releases looks like but I really hope this is a sign that we will get a new Shockblast toy very soon, especially since we're getting Energon Scorponok of all bots in Leader Class next year.

I know this will be a bit controversial here, but seeing new chapters of the Legends manga makes me really miss the old TFCC comics and prose stories. I know some of the people behind them are a bit controversial but it was nice getting stories focusing on lesser TF characters while Hasbro mostly stuck to the big names. Hell, Jim Sorenson still does occasionally work for Hasbro and other licensees, let him write a comic or something to tie into the newest Generations line just so we can get more than bio blurbs of a story
>>
>>11765920
That's because they hit the image limit
>>
>>11765947
It'd be nice just to get toy bios again. It's weird how the Legacy and AotP toylines are still conceived with a story in mind even though there's no media telling it. We're lucky to get even snippets of plot.

So what are the chances the new leader class Lugnut has even 1/8th the SOVL of the old ROTF Voyager? Based on how price points work, there's a good chance he won't even be any bigger, which is tragic because that's really the only flaw with the original.

Summaries are on tfwiki. They started an End of G1 universe story arc with an online comic promoting Dark Amber Leo, then had a other for Legendary Green Lion Lio Convoy and now for G2 Menasor. The plot draws from the precursor universe comics that came out to promote Star Convoy, Super Megatton, God Neptune and King Poseidon, the universe in that story waa ending and they wanted to use the energy from the universe that would replace it (the g1 universe). The current story is characters searching for energy sources to prevent the G1 universe from ending.

My dad got into sports and cut his hair all short a few years before he died of a nervous breakdown, after six decades of being cool, so I don't really get it. I assumed the new gf did it. People watch real TV because their brains want stimulation that is not provided by guys running around on a field with a ball.

The fact your brain went right to this is yet another example of the giga-autism I'm always mentioning in these generals.
It's simple: I love Transformers, have since I was a kid. I also love playing sports and have since I was a kid as well. Do they require "alien mindsets" to each other? I suppose so, but so do any other two things you can think of, don't they?
I don't know what to say about your dad besides "sorry" but I don't get what that has to do with sports, or transformers, or anything else. Maybe his gf did drive him crazy...he wouldn't be the first or the last.

No one has ever, EVER made fun of me for liking transformers. And even if they did, I wouldn't care and would just flip it around on them.
>>
>>11766301
>well shit, lots of people enjoy PLAYING them. but isn't watching them... almost the opposite?
Sort of...I don't disagree with that old saying. But some people watch sports because we know the game and appreciate it being played at a high level, because we were pretty good ourselves.
I would imagine most toy collectors who follow sports are more of the watching variety, however.
>>
>>11766303
Lucky! I've heard tell of places like that.
I didn't care either, just saying it happened. They had a very rigid set of norms that they could easily list on request, that everyone was held to. And none of it was questioned. and I've lived all over this wretched state. urban, suburban, rural...
>>
>>11766305
It's not about the place though anon, it's about the people. You could drop me right into wherever in your state and it would be the same for me. No one would ever dare or think to make fun of me, and even if they did I wouldn't care.
>>
>>11766309
Fascinating. What makes you think that?
And we're talking about you as a kid, and in the 90s, too. No fair cheating and going with now. Now it's the place a guy had a fent overdose and the world ended. Negativity is not an allowed thing unless it's against a government agent doing his job.

>>
>>11766312
We're reminiscing about school and how it was being a kid into toys and stuff. We can stop if you want, it is kind of becoming a lot longer-winded than I ever intended.
>>
>>11766311
>you only think you're talking about this but you're really talking about that!
I see we've gone full circle back to the autism.
No one would make fun of me because I'm cool and good looking. It sounds shallow and it IS, that's the way the world works. It's why Joe Manganello doesn't get made fun of for playing Dungeons and Dragons, but you probably would.
>>
>>11766317
>you only think
it's the subject at hand, dude. at no point did I ever say a kid who lives here NOW can't like toys. I have no fucking idea what kids are like now, and I haven't ever once been happy when I found out.

I was the only cool and goodlooking guy around. That is NOT something they valued. That was very explicit. I was taller, stronger, further along in puberty than anyone else, with good diction, a pleasant voice, and an actual sense of humor because I was raised by parents who grew up in 70s socal. I was the only one into rock n' roll, instead of the rap and calling good things 'bad.'

What they valued was ignorance and plainness. being even okay at school was considered extremely unbefitting of a boy. Only girls got good grades. Girls, maybe 1 or 2 very effeminate and/or overweight guys, and me. That was it. You could tell the guys COULD have gotten better grades, but refused to even do assignments, as failure felt socially obligated.

Your experiences are yours, and pertain only to your area. If anyone's autistic, it's the one not grokking that.
>>
>>11766323
It's not the area anon, it's the people. And whatever gay little chain of command existed among the people you grew up with, I exist outside of it.
>it's the one not grokking that
Nigger what the hell is "grokking", like the AI site? Jesus christ we're just making up words on the spot now?
>>
>>11766323
>I have no fucking idea what kids are like now,
And we weren't talking about kids either anon. You asked me how I (not a kid, for those keeping score) can like both transformers and sports so I answered.
>>
>>11766332
I see you're also a lot younger than me. I'm not familiar with the site you're talking about, but it must have been named for the old nerd phrase, which derives from Heinlein in the 60s but had a lot of use throughout the 80s.
I'm glad you didn't grow up when and where I did. It wasn't the best. Who's your favorite in Transformers?
>>11766335
And you still haven't answered what it is you like about either (you mentioned playing them, but that's not what we're talking about either). My point was, in my upbringing, I never met anyone who liked both. So I'm curious how that works.
>>
>>11766303
Too many anons are super insecure about their toy collecting and it eminates off of them. People can tell. I've shown my collection to tons of people and get nothing but compliments. Honestly, the most common reaction is them finding a random character or shelf and then proceeding to gush about how much they love that particular franchise/character. I've had frat guys sperg out over my various anime figures, I've had yoked delivery guys absolutely lose their minds over my Dragon Ball collection (they were black, they are predisposed for loving DBZ), and various girls I've brought home all find a particular franchise or character they could relate to, be it TMNT, anime, Marvel, or video game characters. It all just depends on how you present not only your collection, but yourself. If your collection is organized, dusted, and not full of creepy gooner shit people aren't going to shit on it. And if you are a clean, confident, emotionally stable individual, then people aren't going to make fun of you for collecting toys. There are far dumber and more embarrassing things that people collect than little plastic effigies dedicated to movies, comics, TV shows, and other media that you really enjoy. The most negative comments I've gotten are related to how much the collection cost. But when I let them know it's been building over the course of a decade and a half, they get it more.
>>
>>11766346
yeah sure, now.
that kind of thing usually starts in college, I think. Something about the public school environment, the fact that you're trapped there, that changes things. Makes it more prisony.
>>
>>11766337
waiwaiwait, I think I got it.
so because they're fun to play, you like watching others play and... you can compare techniques and stuff? Get a bit of the fun you have by doing it, just by watching? I guess that tracks. I mean I like watching people play video games. But that seems a lot less repetitive to me than sports games. I mean, I wouldn't enjoy watching someone play Pac-man over and over and over for an entire 'season' of play. So it still feels kinda weird.

Some of it is obviously just my taste, since I couldn't even enjoy Battlebots because of the sports announcers, those guys are just.. irritating in the extreme. (that and the fact the bots always broke down so, as the season went on, it was increasingly like watching the bot equivalent of old crippled men fighting)
>>
>>11766351
Jesus Christ anon just how autistic are you? You're one of the people who's answer to the question "what if you didn't have breakfast?" is "But I had breakfast".
>>
>>11766354
I mean that's the vibe I've been getting from you, so one of us is projecting.
Consider that I was just describing my upbringing, which you seemed to deny so I had to confirm that's what happened, not just my assumption. Then you assumed you would do fine in that environment, as if you couldn't even picture a different scenario, and that I must just be imagining the one in conflict to your view. Kinda sounds like you're the autist here.

>I see you're also a lot younger than me.
I'm 45 so I doubt it, but if you say so. Favorite is Skywarp, always has been.
>And you still haven't answered what it is you like about either
Considering you wouldn't be in this thread if you didn't like Transformers yourself I assume I shouldn't have to explain to you why I like them. I like sports because they're fun? And I'm athletic and enjoy competition? Don't know how else to answer that. And truth be told I don't even watch a lot of sports anymore anyway, I used to be a big NFL fan but the league is too corrupt and gay and I haven't followed it closely for years.
>My point was, in my upbringing, I never met anyone who liked both.
I get that, but your specific upbringing is a very small, myopic corner of the world anon. But I also wonder, if you were really so much cooler/stronger/better looking than these kids you grew up with as you claim, why you even cared what they thought? It would be like me caring about the pack of autists that was hounding me this whole thread because I don't want an Autobot Devastator (which you may have been one of, for all I know). They're like peons to me, insects even, so why would I care if they're mad at me or not? I'm asking you the same question.
>>
>>11766359
>Then you assumed you would do fine in that environment,
No he didn't anon, because that was me, not him. You're talking to 2 different people. And yes I would do fine, seethe about it.
>>
I wish they used Dev Optimus engineering on a voyager with the proper budget, that transformation has potential
>>
>>11766373
Well that's the thing, I wasn't sure if your transformers answer would be the same as mine.
>league is too corrupt and gay
shit I didn't even get INTO that, but yeah.
>why do I care what they thought
Just because I remember doesn't mean I care. I mean I feel bad for them being so warped. I don't see my inferiors as insects, but as dumb puppies that I don't want growing up to be Michael Vick's dogs, y'dig?

>>11766373

They're tiny compared to G1 guys. The big ones like transmetal Megatron are like minibot size.
I would just toss out cartoon scale if you want them on the same shelf and just go for your own personal canon toy universe scale. So a deluxe is a deluxe on my shelf, no matter what show they came from.

How big is he? I'm wondering if he can even top the voyager's height as a modern leader class, especially since he'll needs to be pretty wide.
>>
>>11766501
i haven't had any trouble with them yet, though obviously none of them can hold much weight
I'd say the bigger issue is they kinda cheaped out (you can tell Hasbro was at least calling a few of the shots). The whole idea is you can make anything you want, but far too many limbs had totally molded, immobile joints, and thus wouldn't make much good other parts.. and the heads were all tiny, so any big combined thing you made was stuck microcephalic.

Well that's nice. Decided to futz with the recent Cybertron Hot Shot and the clear plastic 5mm peg on the gun just snapped off in his hand. Clean break but I'm still disappointed cause this toys what...2 years old now?

>>11765981

Other guys like who? Are there any good fits for Hook, Scavenger and Bonecrusher? Do they HAVE to be repainted? They could go without giving them any reuses and nothing would change or be lost. And we certainly don't need to force a bad idea just to make a mold repaint happen, like RiD Landfill. And honestly, if it spergs out some autist because it leaves toys that combiner without a full group to make a new combination because they think it's an obligation to do so, it's absolutely worth it.

>>11765971
That is a garbage idea.

So Hearts of Steel Megs is kind of awesome. His shoulder-wheels obviously get in the way, but it's a small price to pay for his bitchin' silhouette. Also helps that his proportions, in general, are really fucking cool. Like he's got great "just standing there" energy. He even manages to make that "off-black" brown plastic look good, somehow.

If I pop the titplate off, she gets 90% of the way there. The main issue is that I can't connect the tank-barrel to the backpack due to her head being larger than SS1 Megs' and filling up the whole chest cavity.

Her lower body, and some of the accessories, are from an OSKO SS1 Megs I got on Aliexpress for $5. The waist connector/extension and titplates I designed myself, and the head is from Mavs3d (resized it and modified the neck a little). Oh and the hands are some upgrade hands I got for literally 1 penny on ebay (seller mispriced them).
