Clearly, Mattel plans for Core to replace Origins.A clear pattern has emerged - when Mattel is phasing out a line there will be more QC errors to encourage collectors to abandoned the old and adopt the new. With Origins, that means waist pegs and shin pegs not locking in properly or arms easily falling off when articulating them. I recently purchased 3 figures from Mattel Creations, and all of them had the same flaw, the waist peg would not lock in, causing the figures to separate at the waist. Before that, I purchased 6 Sketchbook Spikors and each one had horrible defects - wobbly heads, bad paint on the eyes, shins and waists separating easily. One even had the rubber spikes melted between the waist and pelvis. Out of the 6, I found one that was acceptable and returned the others. That's what you have to do know when buying origins - buy multiples to find a decent one and return the others.Another thing Mattel is doing to phase out Origins is to raise the price. Origins should have never gone above $15. Now they're $22. If they can sell Core for $10-11, then there is no reason why Origins should be more than $15. A bit more plastic and ankle articulation does not justify a doubling in price.

Picked up the battle cat and it is very nice. The muscular body and longer arms give it a similar look to the Mondo. The only real complaint is the plastic quality. Outside of the forearms/legs the rest of the plastic feels very cheap. super hollow; almost brittle. Still worth buying if you see it.
