Actually having thirteen robots be the first cybertronians only sounds cool as a story, it isn't as cool in practice.
I prefer a straight lineage of primes from one era to the next, stretching backwards through time into the misty past. Optimus can commune with the matrix and consult the primes of old. There's no need for a bunch of spiky guys (and a girl, don't forget there's a girl now!) hanging around at the beginning of time embodying toy gimmicks.
The primes are dumb.

FIRST LOOK AT THE NEW GLUP SHITTO!!!

FINALLY!!! IT'S MY FAVORITE GLUP SHITTO
REMEMBER THAT PART WHEN HE WAS DOING "CHOO CHOOO" IN THE MOVIE :D HE WAS RUDING AND AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFORMING INTO A SHUTTLE AND BLASTING OFF!!
(hehe get it...Blasting Off...like Blast Off ;) - the other shuttle transformer? lol! :D)

The 13 Primes and the lineage of Primes are different things
Even if they both start with Prima

What is your fondest Transformer memory? Mine is getting some VHS tapes from my parents. I watched them for years. I didn't have any toys of any character who was in the show, until many years later when I had my first dollar I earned and went to a local junk shop and saw Sludge there and instantly recognized him from the episode SOS Dinobots I had. I bought him instantly.
>>
>>11775813
Slugfest and Overkill when?

He looks cool at least, but of course feels incomplete without damaged megatron

he will definitely go on sale around this autumn close to black friday's amazon sale.
I got Grimlock for around 47 bucks
Black Ttypticon went for 150.
transformers are not that expensive if you are not a preorder monke

I actually didn't remember these fuckers at all, probably because they only appeared in one episode of season 3 (all of which is better off forgotten). I'd like them now as well though, Overkill looks fucking cool.

Overkill got a toy in TR that was pretty great, he's not a tape but he can become a bird or a gun.
I'd like them to do the combining tape guys but they never, ever will.

The best part is they show up and the are immediately forgotten after their reveal. Makes it feel like Hasbro said "hey this episode isn't advertising enough toys" and the response was "shit uh... dinodudes for one cut".

Reading g1 comics at my barber
Watching Beast Wars every week
Playing with the toys obviously and when my parents would buy me stuff or get me present. The more expensive things get now the more I appreciate them for trying to give me a good childhood.

An older cousin gave me most of his G1 collection as he was going off to school, I got a bunch of transformers and GI Joes in a big aquarium box.
It was my first encounter with transformers as a concept and I got hooked as soon as I saw one transform back and forth. Soon after my mother brought home a dozen or so of the marvel comics from the antique store she was part-time at, and I poured over those for hours. I loved Circuit Breaker and wish she'd come back.

I actually really loved the Titans Return version of this guy. 'Course they had to call him "Overboard" because KILL is apparently too much, but the new name basically means the same thing. He scales pretty well with the other casetteish bots and makes for a good stand-in until he gets an actual new mold (never).

Just ignore this piece of crap. Few years later we will get another astro train and everybody will be shitting on this one even more.
Why are you being a cattle that just buys new thing when it comes out.

It's ok - you don't have to buy it. And everything says that it's a bad idea to buy this astrotrain. Just don't buy it. It's not a big deal...
This figure is so bad.
but at the same time nothing bad will happen to your or your life if your collection will be without SS86 Astro Train
>>
>>11775890
Yeah, I think I honestly like it more than mainline G1. It's a lot of the same characters and concepts, just put together better. And its take on certain characters is just straight up better. I always liked Shockwave, but these comics made me get why people love him (even if he's kind of fumbling the ball with Galvatron in the issues I've been reading recently).

Carnivac is cool - he's basically BW Dinobot. He showed up often enough in the comics along with the other Pretenders, but yeah - if you only saw the cartoons, you'd have no idea who he was.
While I wish they'd done to him what they did to Iguanus, Bomburst, Skullgrin and Bludgeon by integrating his Pretender Shell into his robot mode (instead of recycling the Weirdwolf TR mold and turning him into a Headmaster in the process), I'm just happy he got a modern toy at this point.

Anon is trying to ruin Hasbro one lost Astrotrain purchase at a time. Also good luck with the decade or more wait for the next release.
>>
>>11775934
SS86 is Astrotrain's third new mold in a decade.
>>
>>11775923
Space Warp is very unlikely. You don't see many remolds/recolors of command class molds.
Skyfire - Shattered Glass variant - three years after release
Motormaster - G2 version boxset - four years after release
Armada OP - Nemesis Prime variant cab only - two years after release

Frankly a Fanshobby version of Space Warp has better chances than Hasbro doing one.
>>
>>11775899
This 100%. Also Grimlock. In the original cartoon he's basically a mentally disabled comic relief character. In any Marvel comic written by Simon Furman, he's an anti-hero badass.

vampire bat over a jet

samurai skeleton over a tank

I've been reading the second US compendium and the jump in quality when Furman starts writing is immediately noticeable and pretty impressive, storylines and characters are way more developed and the tone makes me think of a dramatic theatrical play in a good way.

Already have the first UK compendium and I expect it to be as good.

I am collecting the Combaticons but I dunno if I'll combine them much, the individuals are great so far at least.
SS86 Devastator is great though, some weird choices aside like the limited elbows. I don't even mind the hips 'cuz they form a trailer and the rest of him is proper combining.

Never sadly.

Hasbro doesn't want to make a dedicated cassette mold for each of them and they pretty much killed the Classic era gimmick of simply recoloring Grimlock toys in Overkill colors and calling it a day, due to fan backlash and we only got a Squeezeplay repaint of Overkill because they HAD to recolor the mold to justify it's creation. And while we do have a stegosaurus mold now for Slugfest in the form of the Snarl POTP mold, it's never going to happen because of the backlash against doing such lazy repaints for them.

I don't give a damn what you consider an actual combiner. CW ones are wonky shit with bad proportions, stability problems, ugly thighs-as-elbows nonsense, and need 3rd party crap to not be total shit. Also the individual figures suck.

I'm not saying the new combiners are perfect, but they clearly are better toys. You guys have your idea of what a true combiner really is so up your ass you can't see anything else. Guess what? Transformers combiners have sucked since day one. Tons of partsforming with hands, feet, chests and heads. As combining robot designs go their transformations have always been pretty ass. But at the very least on the new ones all the partsforming actually makes for a solid figure and you don't end up with a bunch of unusable junk in alt mode or the shittiest hand/feet "weapons" imaginable.

So, as far as the armada toy goes, he's got all the articulation of a brick, BUT he's a very charming brick. No part tolerance issues, the minicon mirror has tons of range in his limbs, and requires absolutely ZERO parts forming to function.
The Age of the primes release definitely beats the original in terms of articulation, but as far as the construction goes, it is severely lacking. Two main components are faulty friction fits that pop off as soon as you handle them, and the minicon ALSO has a friction fit for the gray face panel(?) the pops off at the drop of a pin. While the concept is cool, it felt like they had an intern model this character off of the original toy, with absolutely zero lessons learned.

>>
>>11777011

>>
Really mixed feelings on this one. Starting with the positive.

The design of Sideways himself on paper works really well. The transformation is smooth and easy, the updated aesthetics really work for me, the proportions are a bit boxy but not in a bad way, and the poseability is a massive upgrade. Just looking at him makes me want to play with him, hes very cool looking.

Unfortunately its downhill from there. The bike suffers from the new robot proportions, fatter backend and looses that smooth curve from the shoulders at the front.

The quality control is completely out of whack. Its red alerts arms all over again but every fucking joint. It hurts my fingers after a while trying to play with him. And the stiffness of all the joints exacerbates the glaring lack of pins in tons of key spots. Are we so cheap we cant even afford pins anymore? Ive had multiple bits pop off when playing because the friction of trying to articulate him is too strong for the super shallow pegs. I expect the majority of this guy on ebay to be missing pieces within a few years.

Also the pipes are frustrating, the waffling underneath looks like shit, they used a clear plastic mold for the windscreen and didnt use it for the pipes to match the og, and they didnt even bother molding blast effect holes/nubs at the end for rocket boost bike fun.

And then this fucking minicon. His one good quality is decent face paint, everything else is trash. The parts forming is pathetic. He lacks the sliding masks so the faces are always showing, the grey ones face mode just looks like ass cheeks, and hes completely lacking in paint apps on the faces. Thankfully ive always liked the regular robot head on Sideways so its not a huge loss, might just grab an old version to use as a rider instead.

I went in feeling cautiously optimistic but in hand this is 6.5/10 at best

>probably i took one of the boxes (with wheeljack car/robot+some of guns) and put it on the side
>last week i was tired and exausted but still decided to clean my house
>was just taking and throwing some stuff right away
>today: umm....wait...where is that other Blokees-box??
I think i might actually threw that away....no fucking way... I can't believe this.
At least it just had Wheeljack (and his car mode and some guns) inside... oh well

I threw out several Blockees boxes because I didn't want to throw them away because they were shiny and pretty. I adore their box designs.
But over time, it turned into some kind of hoarding, and I decided to throw them all away.
Have you ever thrown away toys by mistake?

Sir, this is an 18+ site. Judging by your actions and your grammar you are clearly some sort of small child or at the very least a very unfortunate tween.

>you just want an action figure, not a transformer.
Wrong, I transform these a lot. Stop trying to force your nonsense on me.

>because it's not a combiner.
Again, I don't give a shit what you consider a combiner. You're so mindbroken by a toy transforming in a way you don't like you can't even form coherent thoughts. Stop being so autistic over this and go enjoy your CW combiners, the good thing about this brand is that you actually have choices.

>CW has weak ratchets and need upgrades, frames look hideously ugly and aren't even real combiners
See the difference here? The problems you wrote about CW are objective things that make for a bad toy, meanwhile the frames looking bad is just a matter of taste, and the "no real combiner" shit is just whatever word you want to apply to these. If the G1 combiners always used frames all of you would find the new ones normal and call them combiners no problem. That's how silly your "no combiner" thing is.

Anon why are you mad over nothing...I'm the one who lost a few figurines, not you. I should be buttblasted, not you...
PS:
checked my "blokees empty boxes box" (yes i had another box filled with these).
Damn... it seems that i actually threw Wheeljack away with that defender box...

Don't they weigh anything? I know when I pick something up and it's heavier than I expect, I investigate further.

I'm mocking you for your poorly written posts anon.

The whole thing with primus and unicron and the thirteen is a very bog standard creation myth. There's some number of original beings, they create a bunch of shit, they have some disagreements, blah blah blah all gone now. I totally prefer the classic origin story where they were built by the quintuplets and rebelled.

For all the bayverse bees out there I'd think I'd be able to find one that satisfies me but the search continues.

No problem anon, after all i was asking for it.

>Don't they weigh anything?
I have no idea really... i was tired and i guess i just didn't feel anything - just took it and threw in the bag with other empty Defender boxes.
