>>11797961I got studio series 86 shockwave at a walmart this afternoon. As far as i could tell skywarp wasnt their but i wasnt interested in him anyways
>>11797961bless ya, Madge.
How would (You) stop Core Class from dying if you were in charge?
>>11797847The TFCC made concept art 11797847 a BW Megs out of Animated Grimlock, but it never went anywhere>>11797970My immediate ideas would be>G1 Retro Minibots à la United G1 Prime>show scale Beast Wars characters like the canceled Dinobot>Spychangers with actual articulation, could easily be redecoed several times over>Operation Combination Micromaster combiners, starting with Devastator/Sixbuilder to match Volcanicus/Dinoking
>>11797970Not being fucking retarded as shit with them and do braindead shit like make Rumble an insanely limited run that didn't even hit physical storesYou can't hate this god damn nigs at hasbro enough
>>11797970By not wasting a bunch of tooling making worse versions of characters you already did as legends.
HasBro is losing money by not making a selects retool of Commander Class Sky Lynx into a Deception Aerial Assault griffin toy.
>>11797963how is Shocky. I have the Seige version but am thinking of grabbing this one too.
>>11797970It wasn't dying. Hasbro just wanted to charge Deluxe prices for Core sized figures so the smaller class had to go.
>>11797983I figure core class died so cyberworld could slide in
>>11797970release some coresactually, make the class about 30% bigger. Core should be to deluxe what deluxe is to voyager. The recent cores are too small. They're the height of old Beast Wars 'basics' but significantly thinner. If you aren't gonna make chunkybots, then make them bigger.
>>11797973that's still not show scale no matter how many times you suggest it is
>>11797991No one but you is being that autistic about it.
>>11797973I still need to pick up that little authentics Primal.
>>11797992how many people being right does it take?
>core class star saber? nah give starscream that goofy looking lollipop
>>11797986What a horrible change
>>11797970Make a buncha new guys, have them turn into cars and planes and shit, make up some shit how they landed on an alien world and are fighting over energon as per usual. You can do 6-12 guys on either side, don't have to be bound by Earth altmodes and could look pretty cool if all the vehicles had some consistent alien aesthetic. Or just make them regular cars and tanks or whatever, it hardly matters. The point is to just make some new guys.
>>11797989BWAAHAHAAAAAA.Habsro giving us MORE for our money
>>11798024why do they have to be new guys? There's ton of existing characters who could use a CHUG figure
>>11798033i was about to say 'they can raise the price a bit' except cores already cost way more proportionately than higher size classes.probably because of packaging and shit>>11798035name three
>>11798035I'm bored of seeing the same guys, I want some new ones. Besides, I like the idea of the Cybertronian civil war having little fronts all across the stars, not just Cybertron/Earth/Nebulon or whatever. I think it'd be cool to start fresh with some new guys on an unfamiliar world like they did in Beast Wars. Nobody gave a fuck about those new guys at first but decades later people still like them and have favorites like Quickstrike or even toy-only ones like Airhammer.
>>11798041The ThrottlebotsThe OmnibotsThe TriggerbotsThe rest of the pretendersThe rest of the Autobot TargetmastersThe rest of the Autobot Headmastersshould I keep going?
>>11798052I can understand not making any more toys of the guys they've been making (Ironhide, Soundwave etc), but I mean, there's tons of teams and lineups that are still incomplete because Hasbro never made any CHUG figure of them.see>>11798054
>>11798054I want a new Micromaster Autobot HQ with the combining micromaster dudes, and Landfill, and my nigga Tote.>>11798059Fresh blood could invigorate the toyline, I'm never opposed to more chug guys too but I like my idea more than Weaponizers or those fossil guys they did. Maybe make it more of a thing by doing a web short or something introducing new characters, then people might care more and want to buy them. It worked with the Bay films after all.
>>11798064But that's not what the Generations line is for. It's literally in the name. It's celebrating the various generations of Transformers over the years. Occasionally, they throw in new guys, but 95% is new toys for the generations of characters. Like I said, there's tons of guys who could use new toys and for most people, they would be new guys anyway because they're fairly obscure so everybody would be happy.
>>11797970I wouldn't I'd bring back scout class
How are we all enjoying our BREASTFORCE?
>>11797983I think there's some truth to this. Core class stopped making sense when the average deluxe size was shrinking with the addition of minibots. There's also the fact that rising prices meant the cheap, impulse buy price point was no longer cheap enough to impulse buy (but still looked cheap).I also doubt poor sales at the time were a factor. They wouldn't have expanded to studio series if they were struggling to sell the mainline stuff.
>>11798072>But that's not what the Generations line is forI was responding to >>11797970>How would (You) stop Core Class from dying if you were in charge? And said they should do a bunch of new guys. Not everything has to be Generations anon, they can do other stuff sometimes and it might even not suck for once.
Star of the Dark God, part 1:Millions of years ago in the Galaxy Force World, Primus is aided in his plans of Transformer colonization by a team of Autobots from another universe led by Optimus Prime. With the visitor's spaceship technology and the Cyber Planet Keys derived from Primus's spark, they seek to bring together all sentient beings across space. While the disappearance of Gigantion ended the Space Bridge Project proper, all four spaceships landed on their proper planets and the colonists on all developed a vibrant culture that enures to this day. Optimus Prime helped found Velocitron and is now in permanent rest somewhere...
>>11798103the present day, Shockwave has revealed himself as the mastermind behind the Nemesis's transformation into Nemesis Prime using the remnant of Unicron's power from his destroyed universe that he seeks to bring back by resetting this world. With his Terrorcons mass-produced by Nemesis Prime's Wheelhouse trailer, Shockwave gathers energy and seeks out Optimus Prime, whom he has not found on the other planets, so he concludes he must be on Velocitron. He forces his new servant to hand over the Heart of Cybertron, which has been refashioned into a Matrix, as the Decepticon intended. The Terrorcons alert their master to their discovery of the Autobot leader in stasis lock underground.
>>11798105Knowing of Optimus's transformation into the mighty Star Convoy, Shockwave instigates a similar transformation by implanting the Unicron orb with the energy accumulated by the Terrorcons. Optimus Prime's body glows and expands, and the rechristened "Nemesis Star Convoy" emerges from the ground!
>>11798107The alarmed Clocker identifies the new entity as sharing the same wicked energy as the Grand Black Hole which threatened the universe, and Jolt informs the others that Primus has confirmed the giant as the powered up form of the "missing ancient warrior", who Motormaster takes as his eternal rival from his own world.
>>11798110Metroplex takes on Nemesis Star Convoy, despite lacking his Sparkdrinker axe, and is summarily taken down by the dark warrior's Chaos Bringer cannon. To help in the battle, Hot Shot activates his Cyber Key power, revealing that Primus has endowed them with new color change upgrades, becoming Fire Hot Shot. Motormaster, having come to this world to find such power, notes that this wasn't from either an evil god's power or forestonite. Before he can mull things further, the two are accosted by the corrupted modules of Optimus Prime—his trailer (reconfigured as a Micro Trailer) and Roller (in his Micro Carrier form).
>>11798103>>11798105>>11798107>>11798110This is /toy/
>>11798113Roller traps Hot Shot between his halves while the Micro Trailer has a head-on collision with Motormaster in his truck form. Stunticons Dead End, Drag Strip, and Breakdown help out their leader by taking out the Micro Trailer, but the formerly attached cannon continues talking and attaches to the Micro Carrier, blasting intense firepower everywhere.>>11798114These are comics made to promote current toys.
>>11798118Inside the abandoned Micro Trailer, the Stunticons find some fake forestonite, and, as Nemesis Star Convoy pulls out the Heart of Cybertron Gun, Motormaster realizes they were lured here solely to bring the Nemesis's power core, the Heart of Cybertron, to this world.
>>11798114Go be autistic somewhere else
>>11798120Satisfied enough with his creation's display of power, Shockwave has the evil Convoy unleash his Nemesis Star Meteor Fire attack in base mode to ravage the planet before leaving to attack the G1 World in search for even greater power.
I can't read moonrunes, anon.
>>11798124The Stunticons are left on the devastated planet of Velocitron. Drag Strip figures that Shockwave and Nemesis Star Convoy must be going to the G1 World to acquire the power of that universe's Unicron, Angolmois Energy. They attend to the fallen Nemesis Prime, who was hurt by friendly fire—Shockwave only needed the Heart of Cybertron from her. Motormaster has his team reintegrate Nemesis Prime back into the Nemesis's brain circuits and return to their home universe.
>>11798135 Drag Strip says his goodbyes to Hot Shot and promises to return so they can race again. As Nemesis Star Convoy travels to the G1 World, the Sideways duo, Sideways and Noisemaze, reveal themselves. Shockwave doesn't take to Sideways uttering his new name, but Sideways explains that they were both resurrected by the power of Unicron in another universe after the Grand Black Hole was destroyed.
>>11798140As Unicron acts as the natural counterpart to Primus, the evil god will never truly die. The black mist born from Unicron's power has revived the sparks of those who were absorbed or fused with Unicron, including Sideways himself. Shockblast, on the other hand, seems to have mixed with Mirage, giving him a new name and a new alternate mode (Energon Shockblast used Shockwave's jp name, Laserwave, while Mirage was called Shockfleet and used the Shockwave name in his original, the one we remember as Tidal Wave) matching that of his hated rival. Sideways promised Shockwave that they'll resurrect his brother once they've completed their goal of using an empowered Nemesis Star Convoy to destroy the Galaxy Force World and bring back the MD World, but this was all a lie. While Unicron can create a similar universe, his brother is still forevermore dead. The true brains behind Unicron, Sideways has Nemesis Star Convoy grab Shockwave and use him to rip a hole in spacetime to the G1 World.
>>11798143Megatronus, having recovered from his battle with Lio Convoy, is aghast when the Sideways arrive with their gigantic servant. Sideways explains that they're here to help their Unicron conquer all other Unicrons and the multiverse; Noisemaze takes out Planet X's Cyber Planet Key—a part of Unicron's spark—and inserts it into Nemesis Star Convoy.
>>11798145The corrupted Convoy expands to planetary size and, ignoring feeble attacks from the Prime Council, rips the Fallen's Matrix-encased Cybertron in half.
>>11798146The trio of Dark Amber Leo Prime, Bluebolt, and Untite, delaying their trip to Junkion to save Lio Convoy's son from the Primes' clutches, arrive in time to see the massive threat of Nemesis Star Convoy. Upon seeing him, Dark Amber recognizes that the planet-sized robot is a parallel to him—a Convoy corrupted by the energies of a Unicron. Meanwhile the Primes escape in Nexus Prime, who grew in size and has Silberbolt's frame, for some reason.
>>11798149Dark Amber Leo Prime fires a beam at his counterpart, attracting the attention of Sideways, who recognizes the lion's energy as Angolmois Energy. Since their stated goal is the subjugation of all Unicrons, Nemesis Star Convoy blasts back with the Nemesis Star Convoy Energon Laser.
>>11798143This storyline is pure betrayel-ception. So nemesis convoy betrays all the bots of velocitron, only to be betrayed by shockwave, who is then betrayed by the sidewayses, but all while shockwave planned on betraying them beforehand anyway?
>>11798152Dark Amber Leo Prime leaps off and starts... eating the laser, growing to enormous size! Since planets and stars are his favorite food, Leo Prime gnaws on Star Convoy, inadvertently consuming a different Unicron's energy...
>>11798157Transforming into Unicron himself! The angered Unicron gives Nemesis Star Convoy a good beating, but the Decepticon takes one half of Cybertron and swats his counterpart with it.
>>11798160Reverting him back to his leonine form. Before Nemesis can use his Heart of Cybertron gun to finish off Dark Amber, he's attacked by Shockwave, who hasn't took well to being used. The Sideways capture their ex-partner and have the Nemesis Prime copy Terrorcons throw him into the dungeon.
>>11798163The Stunticons aboard the Nemesis finally return to their home universe, only to see that Nemesis Star Convoy has combined with the halves of Cybertron in base mode. Chained in the depths of Nemesis, Shockwave notes that he expected this betrayal all along, having used some of the Terrorcons' energy to create a bullet that carried a control module into Nemesis Star Convoy's nervous system. With his radar dish as a remote control for his creation and the Terrorcons, Shockwave swears that if they can't resurrect his brother, then he'll start destroying all universes, starting with this one.>>11798156Nah, it's just Shockblast using the Nemesis computer, turning into a Prime, the steals the heart of cybertron from it. Shockblast was revived in the Cybertron continuity after his death in Energon and did all this for his bro.
>>11798168Major things:-Giant Dark Amber, that 2010 Armada Unicron G1 retool and Star Convoy are all on scale with their toys.-Planet X's gold cyber key finally shows up, and they actually used the Unicron connection Sideways/Noisemaze had in his takara toy blurbs, that key drawing upon Unicron's energies.-In Japan, Sideways from the UT are different characters(Double Face for ML, Noizemaze for GF)but homaging that, they're essentially called team Sideways here since their new toys use the english names.-Like mentioned earlier, both Tidal Wave and Shockblast used the Shockwave name in Japan, one using the jp version, the other using the en version. Shockblast hated Tidal Wave so being called that really pisses him off.-Armada Sideways has always been a bit nebulous on how much he was his own character, or if he was just some puppet used by Unicron. The dub made it seem like the latter, while the jp version went with the former (he was possessed, but was aware and working in simbiosis) this is the first time he's shown up as an individual and clearly had no issues assuming full control of Unicron.
>>11797963I too would like to hear your thoughts on shockwave. the gray backpack is throwing me off.
>>11798168>having used some of the Terrorcons' energy to create a bullet that carried a control module into Nemesis Star Convoy's nervous system.>>11798168
Smile!
>>11798103I love how this is a reference to these four having their G1 selves cameoing in Galaxy Force
>>11798168Where did Shockblast learn all this? He was just a thug in Energon.
>>11798103So, when "Sleeping Prime" releases, what are the odds of his box looking like the coffin here?
>>11798107The pervert in me is slightly disappointed that Nemesis Star Convoy isn't a woman like the Nemesis/G1 Nemesis Prime. Also I hope New Legends does well enough that we get a new Megaempress.
>>11798324Pretty low, Hasbro's not that creative.
>>11798345Creativity is overrated.
>>11798297Who are these?
>>11798359Yeah, it’s just the crappy core class Dinobots repaint as MonstructorWhat a waste
>>11798052> I'm bored of seeing the same guys, I want some new ones. This gets said all the time but when we get the likes of Modulators, Fossilizers, Junkions or the Primes, those same people aren’t interested.
>>11798390I meant, that's what they were always meant to be in the first place. They were just pre-tooled as dinobots because the dinobots sell better.
>>11798024I'd love it if a Transformers line did this. New characters with new designs would help paper over the deficiencies of modern Hasbro, too. The biggest issue with Generations for the last decade is that far too many figures pale in comparison to their predecessors, whether it's the previous CHUG iteration or the original toy. I honestly can't think of anything out of WFC/Legacy/AOTP I like the most. Studio Series is even worse about this with respect to the Bay movies.I'm not even trying to be contrarian. I'm sure there's something I'm just not thinking of, but it's (almost) all just charmless downgrades.
>>11798024>>11798406I've said it before; It would have been great if Hasbro had put their whole ass into the RID15 toysThere were a lot of OCs and reimaginings in that show
Dinoking > Volcanicus > Monstructor
more Beast Wars tom and jerry gags.want to draw Wazzpinator and Cheetor
>>11798399It was Dinoking, not Monstructor
>>11798420Oh, my bad.
>>11798419I really like that Inferno
>>11798429Fucking cool. I was gonna break down my Devastator for a new display idea, but maybe I'll leave him together a little longer to take pics when my Shockwave gets here.
>>11798296the camera should be a transformer too
>>11798406legacy animated bumblebee is great I'm hoe
>>11798429ooh, the purple matches pretty damn well huh
>>11797982>how is Shocky. He is really really cool. Shockwave is one of my favorite cons so i got him immediately after seeing him on a shelf. I havent transformed him yet but in robot mode he articulates very well. Heres a pic of him with a jurassic world dunkleosteus toy i also got yesterday. Also i can post pics of shockwaves barcode if youd like.
>>11798217I dont mind shockwaves backpack since his OG toy had something similar but i know some people have nitpicks that i dont. Heres a pic of shockys back if you wanted
>>11798459Anon what is that prehistoric fish toy??
>>11798465Its a dunkleosteus from mattels latest jurassic world wave. I didnt even know this was going to be released until i saw it at walmart yesterday, a different walmart then where i got shockwave. Dunkleosteus has always been one of my favorite prehistoric creatures so i snatched him up fast, ive always wanted a good toy of him.
>>11798467awesome i didnt know it's a new toy. This fish was always one of my favs - in every "dinosaur encyclopedia" it was one of the coolest creatures to look at.It's a fish with a shell-head and a bunch of literal razors in his mouth.there should be transformer of it
>>11798469Yeah Devonian era fish were always my favorite in documentaries or books like you mentioned too. Again i had no idea this was going to be a toy in the JW line until i saw him in person yesterday. I was so happy seeing him on the peg, like if a character you thought would never get a figure in a million years suddenly has one and you only just found out about it when you see him on store shelves. I felt like a kid again in that regard. >there should be transformer of itOh totally but hasbro doesnt really design new beast alt mode characters anymore they only remake older legacy beast wars characters as new figures
>>11798471I see there is this famous german company version alsoi think he can open/close mouth as well
>>11798445The new Animated stuff is a little trickier to judge because they're trying to meet the other figures in the middle, but even then they feel like lazy downgrades that don't commit to the aesthetic transition. The face sculpts in particular are just peculiar. I certainly don't think they're better than the Animated line.
>>11798406But Hasbro did that for a lot of Bayformer movie years. Barely anybody remember PCC Bombshock or Jetblade or Hailstorm/Mindset. You need a show to go with the toyline for the characters to take off or they are going to be "glub shitto" characters people complain about. And even with a show that still happened with a lot of the RID15 characters.
>>11798489I loved the PCC guys, Smolder and Bombshock are my favorites. RotF Hailstorm is fucking rad too, and Stockade and a bunch of other toy-only bots.
>>11798489PCC wasn't a very good toyline, though. RID15 never had a chance in general, for various reasons. For the record, I just said I would like that to happen, not that I think it's in Hasbro's best interest. I don't think a Beast Wars or even Car Robots level refit would be successful, at least not near to that extent. I'm not even sure I would enjoy it. Things are just very different from what they were in 2010 (or 1995), in all kinds of ways. I'm just saying Transformers as an IP has become too captured by self-reference and nostalgia, and while I don't think that's a problem for the Skybound comics it's not very flattering to HasTak's modern capacity as a toy maker.
>>11798429Huh, does it actually tab anywhere?
>>11798474It doesn't look as much like the cartoon as the original one, yeah. I still think it's a better toy.
>>11798497>PCC wasn't a very good toylineOnly because of build qualities, the designs were fun as fuck
>>11798143See, this is the high-quality autism I expect from my Transformers fiction.
>>11798510I like Crankcase as a good generic Decepticon cannon fodder bot, and him combining with his drones into a tiny not-Menasor always made me laugh, like he's cosplaying his hero or something.
>>11798513That's not even the best part, they outright say Shockblasts new alt mode is likely based on Tidal Waves cybertronian form that only shows up for a few seconds.
>>11798513Sakamoto coming up with random headcanon shit on the fly feels way more faithful and sincere than shit like Skybound ever did. I hear a lot that the Japanese "don't get Transformers" even though they technically made it but its the other way around.
>>11798527Go to bed William-san.
>>11798525
>>11798143For anyone wondering why he would have anything Tidal Wave related when they bring up that only those who fused or bonded with Unicron are being revived, Tidal Wave went with Starscream and Megatron into the energon sun.BTW, if we're taking Double Face's word for it, the black mist should be able to bring back a bunch of characters, notably Optimus Prime, not just Megatron.
>>11798527They only made the toys. It was Marvel that came back up with the actual story and characters.
>>11798444That's literally supposed to be Refraktor.
>>11798473> I think he can open/close mouth as well>SchleichAfraid not. Schleich only makes static figures - literally 0POA statues, just hollow and made of lightweight materials for children.
Sure wish I had a Shockwave (hurry it up Amazon), but this is all I've got right now.>>11798444It should, but I don't have DCS Reflector (yet).>>11798566It is just an accessory, so he's technically correct. Which is the best kind of correct.
>>11798566I don't see his ass transforming.
>>11798593C'mon anon, Refraktor is doing the whole size changing thing. That's maybe the one excuse to have a non-transforming Transformer. Or like having the tiny PotP Pretenders to represent when they shrink themselves in Super-God Masterforce.
>>11798605Uh huh.
>>11798605Technically for Metalhawk, the potp toy could be just a suit for his TR Titanmaster.
Armada Optimus got relisted for preorder on Hasbro Pulse.
>>11798626BBTS too. Damn it, missing out on him was the only thing keeping me from getting into the Armada toys. My wallet doesn't need this shit right now.
>>11798633Just look at Optimus's giant dangling blue labia to talk yourself out of it. That's what I did.
>>11798626Now I’m just waiting for Armada Nemesis to go on Outlet (in Outlet?). I’m guessing it’s going to be somewhat soon because Powerlinx Hot Shot took about the same amount of time and Hasbro just cleared a bunch of their Outlet stock
I skipped all the recent big Optimuses. Armada, Fire Convoy, Star Convoy, Big Convoy, G1 Commander, MPG Ginrai, I don't need any of them...But when Grand Convoy eventually comes out I'm getting that fat bastard. Always liked him
>>11798634I can probably just talk myself out of it just by reminding myself how mid Armada was as a cartoon (the Starscream stuff was good though).
>>11798429If you get 2 shockwaves can you give him double cannons?
>>11798419kek
>>11798396yeah because those all sucked and have basically no writing. a good design and even mid writing is enough to make new designs stand out
>>11798374It's the Battletoads.
>>11798649Better keep praying.
>>11798396I dont follow the kids line but I'm pretty sure they get new characters in those. The BW comic had some OCs. Crossover characters are all new at least here and not on Japan. Nemesis Star Convoy might count I still dont know what's up with that.
>>11798714Oh and that Japanese Wild Force stuff have a ton of new arms and leg animals and Rexblade probably more
Aren't most of the 13 primes all new? I haven't followed transformers lore much besides weird tangents like Dillo and Sentinel Prime or beast wars stuff.
Nerd alert.
>>11798719New molds, yes. The characters themselves...well, Alpha Trion and Prima have been around since G1, Liege has been around since G2, Vector was in the Cybertron cartoon, Alchemist was in Cyberverse (as Maccadam), and even if you didn't read any comics, Megatronus was still in the second Bayverse movie. The others were all in comics over the years, but this is the first time we've gotten toys of most of 'em besides Vector, Megatronus and Alpha Trion (unless you count the Build-a-Figure Maccadam as Alchemist's first toy).
>Ultra Magnus! A cursory evaluation of Decepticon forces indicates a distinct tactical deficiency!>In other words, Perceptor...?>We're outnumbered.
>>11798724>no tank modeIt's shit
>>11798738Honestly they should have went the extra mile and remolded the legs to remove the treads. They're just there for a shitty mode nobody even cares about.
>>11798724I honestly like the TR Perceptor mold more, headmaster nonsense aside. The Magnificus deco is kind of neat, though.
Incredibly lame that Studio Series persists in doing things that aren't "making Transit".
>>11798745The headmaster's gimmick is great too because his altmode works as a mini-base.
>>11798756So weird that after the great designs of Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts doubled down on terrible impossible Bayformers again.
>>11798719Alpha Trion - 1985 - G1 cartoonPrima - 1986 - G1 cartoon (via retcon)Alchemist Prime - 1986 - UK comics (via retcon)Liege Maximo - 1994 - G2 comicsThe Fallen - 2004 - DreamwaveNexus Prime - 2005 (first component) - FunPubVector Prime - 2005 - Galaxy Force/CybertronSolus Prime - 2011 - Prime cameo, Exiles novelMicronus Prime - 2011 - Prime cameoOnyx Prime - 2011 - Prime cameoAmalgamous Prime - 2011 - Prime cameoQuintus Prime - 2011 - Prime cameoThe Thirteenth Prime (concept) - 2013 - The Covenant of Primus book
>>11798359My brain tried to remember who this was and its not until >>11798390 that I remember it even existed
>>11798776and the overall concept for the Thirteen started in 1999 as the Covenant (here only 12, based on the zodiac), then reworked as the Thirteen for the Dreamwave-published Transformers Ultimate Guide in 2004, which would get built upon by FunPub and other media until 2011, when Hasbro solidified the concept and roster, eventually publishing the The Covenant of Primus in 2013.
>>11798776For those curiousPrima - 1989/1990 - G1 comic (pictured/named)Alchemist - 2004 - The Ultimate Guide (hints at Maccadam being one of the Thirteen)
I don't mind the 13 as a concept, but I wish they didn't keep shoving it in our faces. The one time I didn't mind them was in that JG1 version because they're not ancient guys there, just a bunch of assholes led by the only guy who can claim that pedigree (Megatronus, who's from another universe).
>>11798787In IDW1 the thirteen are just normal guys and there's a DIFFERENT set of ancient Cybertronian demigods:Primus - LifeMortilus - DeathSolomus - WisdomEpistemus - KnowledgeAdaptus - Transformation
>>11798787I genuinely would not bat an eye if they all ceased to exist tomorrow
>>11798796This, just keep Alpha Trion as "old guy who knows ancient shit" and leave it at that.
>>11798787I do find it interesting that Transformers is one of the few series where the Japanese side tends to be more sci fi in its explanations while the American side tends to be more spiritual instead. I feel like it’s usually the opposite in most cases
>>11798809JP TF has a metric shit ton of spiritual shit in it
>>11798809The 13 not being like other incarnations was mostly due to G1 having its origin pretty set, they already tweaked it and there's no real room for the 13. Hell, we're not really sure if they have all 13 traditional members, we already know they don't have an Arisen since Lio Convoy took his place, and we haven't seen a couple of members yet, notably Vector and Alpha.
>>11798811I feel outside of “life energy” stuff, JPTF isn’t really that openly spiritual. They usually try to explain most stuff in a sci fi way, if a little complicated. Stuff like Primus, the Thirteen, and there being a divinely appointed Prime are all concepts that originate from the US side of TF. Even Vector Sigma, God of the Transformers in JP continuity, is still explained as just being a powerful supercomputer
>>11798830I should also bring up that Liege will show up in the next toy tie in comic, bu5 what's notable is that he's already around with his Cybertronian empire around 2030's-2040's according to a number of MP bios.
>>11798795And in IDW the Guiding Hand are also frauds, just the first five Transformers, nothing special about them.
>>11798833We're just going to ignore Godmasters and Devil Z being the evil that was released from the Matrix?
>>11798467love me a dunkle. very cool teeth.
>>11798830The Thirteen don't NEED to follow any specific cast, or even even all be present as a group. There's no rules.
>>11798835The one that gets me in IDW is that Unicron doesn’t even exist prior to the Visionaries crossover and Shockwave traveling back in time
>>11798445Eh, it's still worse looking than the hydrodive mold.
>>11798767Great designs and nobody can still make accurately transforming versions of the two main antagonists while the "Impossible bayformers" were pretty much nailed on the 1st or 2nd attempt.
>>11798841Yeah, but they'd logically use the current toys since they're promoting them, and they did say they do currently have a line up of 13 at one point, and that was not long before Lio gave up his title.
>>11798519Crankcase is the best Motormaster we never got. I always wanted someone to blow the design up to a voyager with CW slots.
>>11798785>Hasbro solidifiedMore like "killed anything interesting about"
>>11798732>Megatronus was still in the second Bayverse movie. And had is debut in the Dreamwave comics in the second War Within mini-series before that. He also previously had a figure in the Titaniums line, as well as a non-transforming toy from Flame Toys.
>>11798887I really hope this isn't about ANOTHER Haslab Unicron! Or even worst, a slightly updated Haslab Unicron. It's bad enough when Hasbro tries to get fans to double dip by releasing a slightly improved version of a toy a couple years later, but there's a huge difference between doing it for a $40 toy and a $500 one!
>>11798898Probably a Haslab Unicron with some features gutted and one of the AOE Dinobots, so the spinosaurus with all the spikes. Not getting either of them, but someone will be happy.
It bothers me that the best aEnergon axe I can give 86 Prime, is the one included with MPG Optimus... which homage the same feature. None of the third parties seem interested in making one (plenty of useless Megatron arms though). The closest I've seen is a stylized axe on fire, but it's not what I want.
>>11798836>I feel outside of “life energy” stuffAlso, in JPG1 the Matrix is a receptacle created by Primacron to convert information into energy which sounds a lot more sci fi than Primus gifting it to the first Cybertronian created
>>11798898I feel like it's saying "do I buy Legends Gigastorm, or Titan Grimlock".
>>11798898Haslab Unicron cost just south of 600 bucks back in 2019. There's no way they're doing any kind of rerelease at just over 400 in current year.
>>11798905What features could they possibly remove from Haslab Unicron to bring it to $400? It cost $575 5 years ago.
>>11798908He already comes with an Energon axe.
>>11798918JtP usually tends to tease stuff we don’t know about yet. >>11798920>>11798921Scale, maybe, or make him closer in design to Armada Unicron
>>11798928The shitty rubber axe that melts his shit.
my kingdom for a Unicron that turns into a massive rhinoceros (the horns rotate around til they're pointing the same way and move to the rhino's nose)yknow people often think rhinos are related to unicorns. People who haven't seen.. unicorn drawings.
>>11798905They'll never top the Aoyi
>>11798918Titan Grimlock is this year.
>>11798933Dont say that, i want Armada Unicron at retail Maybe it can be cybertron Primus, he was spiky too.
>$400+ thing with spikesYou're all wrong, obviously the next Haslab is the famously popular Dark Nova
>>11798887He posted this in a studio series thread, so the 200 one is almost certainly a titan dinobot.
>>11798954It’d be funny if the $400 one is just a Dinobot multipack
>>11798958That's about the on $400 thing I'd actually buy
>>11798946plantigrade legs though.
>>11798583I can only think of Skybound comics Shockwave as the only time he mass shifted.
