>>11836792So is the Mattel mr freeze pack an online exclusive cuz target said they dont carry it in stores when i asked? I hate how practically everything is becoming an online exclusive>>11836973Teen titans go isnt popular, it was only artificially pushed for years starting with some crack pot cunt who took over cartoon network in the mid 2010s and they were hellbent on forcing people to like that slop so hard that it drove what remained of the viewer base for cartoon network away and drove CN to extinction.
>>11837173then what the hell is wonder woman and zatanna doing there, they trans.
>>11837257TTG has to be at least marginally popular to get two theatrical movies. You can bully a network into doing your bidding, but a theatrical relase means flimflamming multiple divisions who have their jobs riding on your success.
>>11837268Their was a hypothesis some anon came up with on /co/ that the reason for cartoon networks bizarre hard on for teen titans go was in part because of a really bad snowstorm in the beginning of 2016 that forced most people to stay in doors and watch TV all week and coincidentally a TTG marathon was also happening that same week and it got massive ratings-not because it was particualrly a good show or well loved but more because it had a captive audience. The anon speculated that CN brass saw that boost in ratings and rather foolishly attributed it to TTGs nonexsistent popularity rather then the fact that a shit ton of people were snowd in and had nothing else to watch and that this was the main impetious for the TTG spam and CN suddenly overvaluing TTG and pushing it so hard and for so long even at such an expense that it eventually kills the channel along with other contributing factors. As for the TTG movies only one actually got a theatrical release and it didn't do that well and only made money cuz it was dirt cheap to make like the rest of that shitty show.
>>11837257>cuz target said they dont carry it in stores when i askedThat’s just some retarded wagie.
>>11837288Oh, I thought I heard somewhere it was getting a theatrical sequel. My bad.
>>11837316Their was talk of another theatrical sequel but i dont think its gonna pan out. The first TTG movie was 8 years ago now and alot of things DC has said they wanna make into movies end up being shelved. But unfortunately someone very high up in warner brothers still has a bizarre erection for the waffles XD teen titans cartoon and is still hellbent on trying to make it WBs own spongebob even though the incessant spam of TTG on CN is what caused no one to watch their channel anymore and is also in part what ended up getting CN studios closed.
>>11837288snowstorms don't affect an entire nation as big as America so this is kinda silly.
>>11837364It mainly affected the northeast AKA the most densely populated area of america hence the undeserved ratings boostI found the post i mentioned before that talks about this in desuarchive btw
>>11837367I've been stuck for a week due to snow, plows don't come out here, and id go crazy if I had to binge ttg for a week. It's an ok show but being stuck for a week kinda starts to screw with your mood and hearing beast boy talk for a week might just crack my soul.
this week i received Arkham Knight UPF and Red Death InArtboth are masterpieces and im amazed with the quality
With McFarlane losing the license soon, I'm finding it hard to want to keep buying the Multiverse figures. There are a couple Batman figures coming out soon that do look really good, but it just feels like a waste of money knowing they won't scale with anything moving forward. I brought this concern up (as did others) that McFarlane making the figures 7 inch scale was a bad idea because it meant they didn't scale with anything that had come before. I even initially refused to buy any but they won me over with some of the better figures. Just seems like a really short-sighted choice.
>>11837129Why does she look so greasy and oily? Special subtle paint hits I take it?
>>11837288That is a deranged level of Teen Titans Go. But that won't sell figures of it if no one is watching but TVs left on.What TV has become is really horrific to me. I remember when there was a feeling, an atmosphere of care around blocks of programming, where it felt curated. Now it's just huge day length periods of the same thing airing all day. How can people stand that? Who would watch it?
>>11837439McFarlane went 7" because it was a choice scale for higher sculpted detail. It was made when he thought the figures would look like this.Instead they ended up being blank booster gold bucks. Because consumers have no sense of artistry or taste. They just want their favorite characters in Ye Olde Spandex. Then most of them abandon your line anyway when you give them what they ask for and so you drop production to tiny runs and cater to scalpers for what little of them stick around.
>>11834460>need all of that for a job >it’s not real>will be automated in 2 years maxDon't worry, zoomzoomFlipping burgers and taking fries out of the hot oil is still something that can't be automated YETSo you'll still be able to pay your mom for doing your laundry while you live in the basement like a responsible 'adult.'
>>11837460>Then most of them abandon your line anyway when you give them what they ask for and so you drop production to tiny runs and cater to scalpers for what little of them stick around. This is so much BS. The Toddler's cultists are the biggest and most loyal stupid assholes to exist that actually get to consoom besides the followers of a certain orange grifterThey even keep his name on their shit and don't bother to open it and treat it like bitcoin/NFTs
>>11837460>They just want>abandon your line>when you give them>so you dropNo, when shelves are flooded with Jokerized vampire variants of literal whos instead of evergreen versions of the characters people like then retailers stop ordering new product and fill the shelf space with toys that sell, reducing the line to a gold label premium elite ruby platinum collectible case that each store only buys one case of and hides somewhere by the playstation controllers. This leads to less units being sold and less cash for larger waves, making the concept of filling shelves again impossible and so the license is given to someone else who can endlessly print cheap moneymakers kids and collectors want.If Todd had just released a Phantom Lady then McFarlane Toys would be a ten billion dollar company today and probably be in a position to buy WB outright. Sad.
>>11837509Toddler's cultists aren't the people who demanded blank spandex body bucks. Marvel Legends collectors did that.>>11837519There were plenty of figures with classic iconic looks released. Some are still pegwarming at a store near you, like Max Mercury at Walmart.
>>11837537I wish I'd picked up a Max Mercury while he was still on shelves. I could pick one up off ebay, but it wouldn't be the same, I want one from the wall of Sad Maxs I'd look at every time I went grocery shopping. Then I'd keep him mint, watching my DC shelf fill up with dioramas and characters fighting and playing and teaming up and doing cool stuff together but he'd still be trapped in his plastic cage, watching, alone.
>>11837540There's still time. A wall of Sad Maxs sits in Walmart warehouses still, waiting, hoping for anyone to buy him. He can still be yours.
>>1183754763 people rated that fig. 63.
>>11837552And somehow despite the headsculpt, the rating ended up being 4.8. I guess ratings are biased anyway since if you bought the thing you already knew it was shit from the pics and didn't care.
>>11837547Paying more than $10 for that thing is a big ask.Thank you for giving me the experience of seeing a Max for sale and backing away in shame, silently shaking my head in condemnation.
>>11837439him cheaping out on capes with mega shitty kids Mattel-tier fabric capes at the very end pisses me off. I saw the Alan Scott two pack the other night and, shitty as Grundy looks, I probably would’ve bit for a proper wired cape.

>>11837574Is Steve Trevor a man?
>>11837574Men? Allowed to set foot on Themyscira? No. Men are not allowed.
>>11837566I looked it up and I paid $9.52 at some point for mine as an addon to get free shipping. He's actually a pretty cool figure other than the headsculpt. But oh boy is that headsculpt bad. Maybe someone who is good customizing faces could salvage him. For someone who is supposed to be buff and manly that headsculpt is so passive and effeminate.
>>11837579Stop talking to yourself dork
>>11837547I used to have a few pics of ol Max with a clearance sticker in it. I kinda have fond memories of those days, it was like a game of chicken in a way. Will a figure get the yellow sticker? Will someone snatch it up to resell or will you save a few bucks on a figure you aren't too excited to pay $20 bucks for. I'm currently waiting for starman jack and vigilante to hit clearance, I'm not sure what the trigger is but they've been sitting pretty still since the store got their last shipment of multiverse figures. I'm really hoping that Savage Dragon gets clearance too, it looks ok but it's not worth $50 of my wage bucks
>>11837624I'd be interested to see the sculpts Todd or DC decline because they don't meet their standards. They must be really bad.
>>11837624He looks like he's getting his teeth cleaned.
There is zero chance any child is getting these 3 packs. They are nigh unobtainable.
>>11837667They're looks from comics no kid would recognize as they are from the 90-00s.
>>11837622Vigilante has hit clearance to order. Still to high at like $24/$28. I will wait to hope I see him at a Ross. If his hair doesn't come off, the head is pretty useless to me. I do like the jeans but the torso shirt is very clearly this Vig or something old-timey. He's tops $5-10 value in fodder, or Ross priced, like the Pennyworth movie which also had useful accessories and a head sculpt of Irons that you could use, swap or sell. The head alone could pay the $5.95 I paid. The Vig head would sell in a head fodder lot I would be lucky to make $10 on after fees and shipping unless I larded it with good heads I would probably prefer to keep instead, versus the sad junk and crap like side eye Arthur Curry.
>>11837552Blue diapers are so the thing!
>>11837667Kids are going to all die in the heat anyway.
>>11837439I will never get this mindset. I bought the Multiverse figures I liked for what they are, whether as designs I always wanted or from comic runs I enjoyed, not because "they won't scale with anything". Mattel will be fulfilling just that so if that's all you ever really wanted from the start then I don't see any reason why you'd ever dip your toes in McFarlane's stuff besides FOMO or the one/two exceptions of Megafigs or Spawn/Hellboy being able to fit in 6" scale.
I remember the good ol days of McFarlane pulling their platinum scams. It seems to have slowed down a lot.

>>11837757How can it be worse than McFarlane with the last few years of his line?
I bought another Flash because I've been thinking about making this custom Adam Strange. I haven't done permanent damage to either figure yet, of course. Ever notice that a lot of Todd's DC figures have weird scaling issues like how some of the heads seem sculpted for 6 inch but are on 7 inch bodies. Anyway I've heard Gundam markers are a great alternative to paint.
>>11837774>Anyway I've heard Gundam markers are a great alternative to paint. They're just paint in a pen
>>11837774This is a great idea
Supes in in the mail. Was hoping for it to be here by tomorrow but oh well. Mezco parts going to have to wait until next month.
I am retardedly stoked to have these guys on my shelf together. My plan as of right now is to buy mainly core from Mattel. The only exceptions I plan on making is Nightwing, flash and Superman related characters.
>>11837793One looks like a high end collectible, the other looks like...something else.
>>11837793I was going to call you retarded but I can’t think of any other characters that need modern articulation except females like cat woman or batgirl. The flash and Nightwing absolutely NEED to be super articulated but honestly Batman doesn’t need to be. Batman just needs a wired cape. Every other dc character you could get away with having them in core form.

>>11837721Don't get me wrong, I do like the figures, but most of the figures I bought I got because they haven't been or are rarely made by other companies, '89 Batman, Batman Forever figures, Batman & Robin figures, Arkham, Christopher Reeve Superman, the figures look good on the shelf, but I would be nice to have the option to mix them in with other lines both past and future. Just for the hell of it I'd like the option to pose my Reeve Superman with my Hammond Spider-Man without having to cheat the scale, y'know? And sure maybe Mattel will do a Reeve Superman in the future, but there's no guarantee. 6 inch just works as a good evergreen scale that lets you mix and match displays across lines and companies, putting them into 7 inch is just very limiting.
>>11837803Imports have already made Batman many times. No need to use a 12.99 mattel toy with no ankle articulation for Batman. It's able to be excused for obscure characters
>>11837999I'm surprised that the scale difference doesn't even matter in this image and its cheated very well. Looks perfectly serviceable despite mixing scales
>>11838070Thank you. On the shelf this could work, but it would just be nice to have the option to pose them in more vanilla stances like shaking hands or something.

>>11837999this. I absolutely would have bought every single movie villain cuz the casting choices are insane and the costumes are cool, but they would have looked shitty next to every thing I own. The only NECA figures I kept were Gordon Freeman and pixel color scheme Godzilla.

I think WB just sluts it up and wants money and nobody involved gives a fuck about micromanaging who gets to make the Collector's Edition Platinum Batman and the Rocket Launching Electric Rainbow Batman toys.McFarlane seems to copy what other companies like Hot Toys are doing then rushes out super cheap versions at a reasonable price for the wider market.
