And Takara would probably get their colors right, unlike how the new Breakaway somehow manages to have the exact REVERSE colors for every single major part of the figure. Heck, they might even do things like give the torso bot a new head as Heatwave, resculpt the combined head to look like Timelines Nexus, or even make different mold choices for the limb bots. Unfortunately, it was years after Menasor's G1 release in Legacy that Takara stepped in to reveal their G2 set, so it might be a long wait. And even then, there's no guarantee, so waiting might just result on missing out on any limbs at all for Nexus without having to pay aftermarket prices. Makes me long for the days before Siege when it was almost a sure thing that Takara would make upgraded versions of Hasbro's figures (but that's probably why Hasbro eventually raised a fit and put a stop to it, 'cause too many fans were passing on their stuff to wait for the inevitable Takara versions).

Nexus prime is genuinely baffling to me. They really managed to do it in a way that satisfies nobody AND requires you to buy a second Silverbolt. This would MAYBE satisfy someone autistic enough to buy 2 sets of Aerialbots and use one set as Superion and the rest as individual bots.

Plus, the SS Coronation set from the Earthrise mold shelfwarmed so hard that I was still seeing piles of them at Walmart almost two years later, so I'm not sure how smart it is to copy that plan. The only logic I could see here would be if maybe Hasbro thinks the coronation set's failure was due to too many people already having easy access to ER Starscream, instead of its failure being due to there only being relatively few fans willing to buy an entire duplicate of a voyager at leader scale prices just to get a few accessories and a purple chair. If they want a coronation set to work, they should have that be the first version of Starscream they sell. After all, there are plenty of other random seekers they can use as exclusives to milk that mold for years that'll sell better than a double dip, and the only cost to Hasbro would be picking out colors for a new deco.

I was not expecting to enjoy Prima as much as I do. I’m slightly obsessed actually. His overall aesthetic is very strong and powerful. Even better after I modded him to be able to look down. My only gripe is the fact he has a motherfucking backward ab crunch. With not on but two swivels underneath it? Totally inexcusable that he dosent have a functional ab crunch.
Honestly, I think the reason Transformers is in a sort of lull right now is because it’s not really a priority series for either Hasbro or Takara at the moment. Hasbro is more focused on 6” lines like GI Joe Classifed or Marvel Legends while Takara is currently focusing on their model lines Tomica and Plarail
