We have air conditioning, electric fans and other such things to keep things comfortable, but now put yourself in the MH universe and there's a good chance that you're stuck laying in your little hut/tent/home, possibly with little to no real air flow, sweating your ass off as you try to get some sleep.Now with that reality in mind, imagine how exquisite it would be to hire the friendly local Legiana, or Velkhana if you were a wealthy person of status, and have them simply lay down beside you and chill the surrounding air.Of course, the majority of monsters don't really get any benefit out of currency, assuming they could even understand the concept of it. So what would a monster really want in return?I think the obvious answer is simply food, followed by safety. In it, there's a subset of monsters that are born more intelligent than others, and those generally end up working with humans somehow. IIRC Mizu was saying he was lucky because he produces bubblefoam, which is highly valuable in its pure form and allows him to get easy money for a luxurious life, going as far as having ready-made food delivered to his nest. Other monsters are not as lucky and mostly end up working as escort for caravans against feral monsters or bandits. It's not stated but ice and lava monsters could very well sell their presence too, though I bet it wouldn't be very confortable for them to live in an environment that doesn't suit them.I wish the setting was more developped, like maybe some groups of monsters chose to band together to live in safety in the wilds, or maybe even "feral intelligent" ones that didn't come into contact with anything smart until well far into their life.
