It could be an evolution of obesity where they start with a bus and they have to get progressively stronger transportation. Sling and crate could be a last resort, when we’d have to use artificial wormholes.Side note, a fatty like the wurmple conductor can get as fat as she wants because she’s controlling the public transportation itself. Canonically, she’s too fat to ever leave her train, but it can travel anywhere and she has staff at hand to get herself local treats.
