What if the dess in the code/knightdess is a dess from another timeline, shes not the same dess that noelle has lived her life with. If we bring her back it wouldn't fix things. It seems like some gaster-erasure stuff happened to Dess so it's possible that only one type of Dess survived, maybe even a Dess from a worse timeline where Carol was even more strict and controlling, though this aspect of Carol might come from Dess's disappearance in the basegame so we aren't able to really speculate. Noelle could try rehabilitating this version of Dess but she wouldn't be the same one that Kris and Noelle knew, the old Dess is long gone already
