He’s been slick recently, the game you two have is trying to figure out when. You have some ideas, small tells you’ve gathered over the years.>Whiskey is quietly reading another one of her true crime novels. >Mercy is doing push ups, her feet elevated on the chair. >And you sit quietly as the clouds pass you by. The travel between kingdoms has never been so safe, thanks to Atlas and Vale’s cooperation. Vale in fact has finally got the lead out with their standing army. Their over reliance on Huntsman has been a shackle for long enough. >Which is why the good General has dragged you across the world. Vale wants to set up a jungle school. >General Ebi exits the cockpit and surveys his most promised team. The team leader is counting sheep with brutal efficiency. Whiskey is buried. Mercy is distracted. >”Anga, are you prepared?”>”Sir, Ive been reading.”>”The jungle has the paper in a more raw form you know. The ink is still in ocean.”>”My point being that nothing in Atlas’s general curriculum covers woodland areas, outside of a few pages in an errent handbook about Argus. This is going to end in tears.”>He clasps his arm on your shoulder. “Youre my top team, and youre the brightest young man Ive ever met. I have full faith and confidence in your ability.”>”Im sure my father got excited when you gave him this speech.”>Ebi chuckles. “It sure did. Wake Ken up. We’re here.”
>>775852762/?>Ken rubs his eyes and yawns, Mercy kips up to her feet. Whiskey quickly places her book in her bag, takes three steps off the ramp and face plants in front of Valean Royal Guard. Didn’t even throw her hands out, nose straight to helipad. >In a show of royal grace, Queen Valefor pretends she didn’t see it, instead approaches General Ebi and shakes his hand. “Clover, its nice to see you.” >”Owlen, I see the weather is perfect for our little test run.”>Now that Whiskey is on her feet, she slowly walks over to meet what are Atlas Academy’s top students. Allegedly, the perfect candidates for a test run. >You had many, many problems with this set up. First off, “four students with aura walk into the woods” really doesn’t help your average soldier much. Two totally different skillsets and capabilities. You can punch down a tree given enough a time, the average infantryman needs tools that you just don’t. Conversely, you could live forever in the mountains, but you’ve had no training for the woodlands. This just seems ever so misplaced. If you hadn’t spent so long studying for this, you would be much more nervous. >You barely noticed Owlen stand Infront of you. She smiles when you start. “Lost in thought, are we?”>”Slightly.” You stick your hand out. The Royal Guard gets visibly nervous. >Owlen however, simply shakes your hand. “You remind me of someone Im scheduled to meet next week.”>”I assume you mean Jet. He’s a friend. We’ve worked together on a few projects, such as his pet gun.”>”….pet, gun?” >”Yes. I scanned a cat’s brain and placed a digital copy into a large cannon. He was quite pleased.”>Owlen seems a mix of concerned and amused. “And what became of the cat?”
Argentio's armor is hard to generate
>>775852993/?>”I made him team leader.”>Olwen looks over to Ken, who is still sleepy. He gives her his best :3 after another yawn. Hardly behavior fit for interacting with royalty. That might have been why Olwen took such a liking to him. She approaches and grabs his cheek. “Arent you just precious.” You can see the hearts in his eyes, he turns to you mouth “Im gonna fuck the queen”. Mercy slaps the back of his head.>She walks off, implying that everyone should follow. The group is lead to another room full of various staffers. One of which catches your eye. Your AI quickly reads the iconography of his uniform, you weren’t quite familiar with how Vale does things. Major Taz. Infantry. Various badges to indicate he’s very well trained. He’s who matters in this room, officially or not. You don’t see any other military brass around, just Owlen, suits, and one slightly overweight bear fanus sitting by herself. Hmmm….no. She’s out of place. >No one knows you have as much access to Vale’s records as you do, a simple favor from the right people. Lets see who she is.>”No_data_found.” Displays across your eyes. >You’re a difficult man to hide from. This woman in plain cloths who looks uncomfortable has managed it. Nevermind, there are two important people in this room. You need to know why. >Thankfully, you’re good at hiding your inquisitiveness. People shake hands, exchange pleasantries. Ken lightly scolds Whiskey for embarrassing them in front of the General. The Valean Major is eyeing all of you up as much as you are him. The woman wont look at anyone. She’s very intriguing. >In time, you reason. First, food and wine. Well, just food. Wine isn’t to your taste. Alcohol is for for the undisciplined. Which is why Ken is eager to indulge in drinks that probably cost a month of his mother’s rent per bottle. Thankfully he has enough sense to drink slowly.

>>775853575/?>”I have.” He cuts on his steak. “You’ve been thoroughly set up for failure.” >”I would hope not.”>”That’s the point.” He says bluntly. “You’re Mr. Aima, correct?”>”I am.” You don’t touch the food any further. >”Your old man teach you how to start a fire? So far every man from Atlas can barely do that.” >You raise an eyebrow. “You’ve not found the Atlas Military to your standard?”>”You’re a glorified police force.” He doesn’t bother looking at you. “So far every soldier from Atlas only has a grasp on small unit tactics and how to call an air strike. Proper maneuver? No. Your computers do all the thinking for you. Actually surviving in the woods? You get a class. A presentation on a screen. Far too comfortable.”>Precisely the point you were trying to make to Clover previously. ”Then I assume this exercise is to teach us?”>”Mph.” He seemingly disapproves. “It was the Queens idea. Cross training, she thinks. We have to create the standards, which means we need a baseline of what to expect. Congratulations. Youre a floating test rat.” >”At least I have the distinction of being able to float.” You adjust your glasses. “I will happily accept any guidance from a more experienced veteran.” >”They told me about you, you know.” He adds some salt to his steak. “Said your father was someone important, you were a hard worker, hard thinker. You, I’m not worried about. Youre not really useful for this dry run because you probably actually paid attention to those stupid classes.”
>>775853996/?>”Ive done far more than that.” You remove your scroll and start pecking away. “I believe ive identified every potential natural hazard in area. Plants and wildlife, I mean. Ive read the Valean training material for bushcraft. A far cry from actually performing the tasks, but a place to start.”>”Now, take a look at what your team leader is doing.” >Ken, of course, is trying very hard not to stare at Owlen. You can hear his internal monologue, thinking of every possible way he can score with royalty. It would be endearing if it wasn’t so poorly timed. >You pinch the bridge of your nose. “I can assure you, there is far more under his demeanor than you would think.”>”Still a city boy with no common sense.” He finishes his steak. “You think he’d survive in the wild for more than a week unsupervised? And that’s with your aura and semblance abilities, how long would the average Atlas ground pounder last? More than a week?” >”Likely not. Not here. We’re all experienced mountaineers, but this is different.”>”And whats your plan for being stranded on a mountain?”>You immediately realize his point. You always have Atlas technology in a moment’s notice. “Survive until extraction, which would take no longer 72 hours. Theres nothing in the frozen wastes to sustain off of. The cold will kill you by hour 73, even with aura. As far as holding ground for weeks to months, Atlas has little need to train for such things.”>”General Ebi seems to disagree.”
>>775854277/?>The food gets wrapped up, you meant to ask about that woman in the corner. You go to motion to her but she’s gone. How is that possible? She couldn’t have crossed your field of view from the corner. >At first you start thinking about how she could have moved, but ultimately decide youll find out one way or another. Better to just put it out of mind for now. Taz collects all four of you and takes everyone down stairs. He doesn’t talk much. No one does. >Once you get to outside, he leaves you with two other people you can only assume to be huntsman. A brawny mass of a man with messy brown hair and a well dressed woman who seems distracted with the tree line. Theyre standing next to a pile of rations and bottled water.>Ken approaches with his usual confidence. “So were going thattaway? :3”>”Basically. You know whats expected?” She looks like she’s trying really hard to spot something. >”Nope!” He puts his hands behind his head. “Nobody has told us anything.”>The big guy mumbles. “Great planning Owlen.” He sticks his hands in his pockets and turns to face the tree line. “We need you all to wonder, roundabouts three kilometers into them woods. Just survive. That’s all.”>Whiskey tilts her head. “That’s it? Are there grimm?”>Eirwyn shakes his head. “Naw. Just trees.” >Whisky scrunches her nose. “I don’t understand?”>Cen speaks up, “We want to see how you think. What you intuitively do as people who aren’t from here and haven’t seen a tree before. You’ve got two days worth of food and water provided, after that you’ll have to figure it out.”>Whiskey nods along. “Alright. Are you coming with us?”>”Your grader is around.” Is all Cen responds with, not looking from the forest.
>>775854458/?>Ken starts walking. “Well, no time like the present! How hard could it be?”>Mercy and Whiskey follow along without asking any more questions. You hang back and stand next to Cen, allowing your glasses to scan the area. She notices you surveying. >”A penny for your thoughts?”>”Funny you should say that.” Thermal scans turn up nothing. Image shading, nothing. “Youre trying awfully hard to spot something that isn’t there. Theres more to this than camping I assume.”>Cen rubs her chin. “We’ll throw things at you, but nothing you shouldn’t be able to handle. Like I said earlier, we want to know how you think so we can drum up some actual training for the next group of people who maybe aren’t as uh...smart. Clover says you’re some of the best he’s got.”>”Well, I suppose I’ll follow them in, if you have no further guidance.”>Cen shrugs. “Go for it.” >Nothing of note happens as the group wonders into the woods. Its actually pleasant, the weather is a cool, comfortable temperature. The overcast might be a problem by nightfall. The woods aren’t too thick, at least not at first. Whiskey spots a flower along the path. “That looks pretty.” She goes to pick it. You gently nudge her shoulder. >”That’s an irritant.” >”Im sorry?”>”Don’t touch it. Its covered in toxins.” You bend over and take a look. “Red Solanaceae, or in normal speech, Red Trickeries. Quite nice looking, but you’ll be scratching yourself to death if you pick that.”
>>775854689/?>”You mean these here? You think Olwen likes flowers?”>The other three of you look up to see Ken holding a handful of them. He even put one in his hair. You slowly exhale a disappointed “uhhhggg”. >Ken’s head already starts to itch. “Man, is there a bug in my hair or something?”>Mercy snaps a stick off a tree and pokes the flower off of Ken. “We’re five minutes into this and youre already touching random stuff. Try not to get us all killed please.”>”Well” itch “Curiosity” itch “Hasn’t killed this Katt yet.”>itch>itch>itch>Once everyone selects a site to camp for at least tonight, Ken is furiously scratching his hands. Mercy can only numb him for so long before it comes back, and it takes a toll from her each time. She ends up drinking her portion of water for the day too quickly. >She upturns the bottle, and its empty. “Crap.” She looks around. “Did anyone see a stream on the way here?”>No one did. She stands up. “Alright, well Im gonna go look around. Can you guys get a fire going? It’ll be dark soon.” >Whiskey and Ken both stand up to go collect wood. You decide to scan the area again. Nothing. Nothing on thermals. You mumble to yourself, “They don’t have drones out here. How are they keeping an eye on us?”>snap>You whirl around, nothing. Youre fairly sure that Whiskey and Ken went off in a different direction. You cant imagine the training area would have criminals or other threats.>”If anyone is there, I hear you. No need to hide.”>You step around the tree and spot a racoon. It has its mitts wrapped around Whiskey’s meal ration, happily chewing on preserved beef. Well. Too late now. >You crouch down and watch. It spots you, but seemingly doesn’t think youre a threat. Its keeps chewing. “Hm. Cute.” You say aloud. >Something hits your head.
>>7758548810/?>You stand up, blind as a bat. “Shit.”, as you calmly draw your back up pair of glasses. No computer in these. Nothing is around. Something very lightly tapped your face, you felt it. You look around the ground, but your glasses are gone. Thankfully, you have an app for this. You pull out your scroll and it says, plain as day that they are...>...inside of the tree next to you. >Right. You approach the tree, but instead of the gear, it’s a note. It reads “No cheating. You’ll get these back later.”>”So be it.” You say to no one. “Do be careful. Theyre more than equipment to me.” >The glasses start to move towards the tree line according, you peak around to see if you can spot whoever has them. Nothing. >”The grader is around.” You mumble. Ken and Whiskey return with firewood. Except it wont burn, given that its too fresh. They might as well have brought a living tree. >You don’t want to waste fire dust on this, so instead you watch as Ken furiously tries to start a fire by spinning a stick into a damp log. Well, he partially paid attention at least. >Whiskey figures it out and steps away to find dry wood. >”AAAAAAAHHHHHH!”>You and Ken jump up and sprint her direction, arms ready. Whiskey is standing very, very still, fear in her eyes, and a snake laying on top of her head. Its tail is dangling between her eyes. It isn’t very big, maybe two or three feet long and not terribly thick.>Ken slowly approaches. “Whiskey, don’t move. That’s a copperhead.”
>>7758553411/?>”Oaaaaahhhh gods I hate snakes I hate snakes I hate snakes so much. Is it poisonous?” >You giggle a little. “Venomous. And no, that’s not a valean copperhead.” You gently pick the snake up off of Whiskey, who quickly backpedals directly into a hole that was covered in thickets. You can hear her thump. >Ken walks over to the hole and looks down. “Can you stop falling over nothing?”>”Damn it, who left a hole here!?” Whiskey looks around. Its just big enough for a person to fall into. “If I didn’t have aura that would have hurt.” >You think about your ghost grader. Whoever they are, they saw that. Whiskey jumps out of the ground, but still wont get near you. You look down to the snake in your hands, which seems oddly comfortable with you holding it. You move your hands as it tries to slither away from you, like youre creating a treadmill for it. It doesn’t threaten to bite you though, oddly enough. You gesture towards the other two. “You can tell by the eyes. See the circle? Copperheads have a slit. This is a corn snake. That next to Ken is a copperhead.”>Ken looks down, then jumps into a tree when it spots it. You think he might have actually made a cat noise.

>>7758558212/?>You place the snake back in a tree and help collect actual, useful firewood. It didnt occur to you until later you could have killed and eaten it. A wasted oppuritinty. Oh well. There are snakes abound, probably. When you return, Mercy still isnt back. >You start to hope she isnt lost, or fell in a hole. >Eventually, between Ken and Whiskey trying their hearts out, a fire is made. Its not a great fire, but its a fire. You start thinking about water procurement. Hmm. Need a stone. A big stone.>You look around and find a rock. With dust blade to hand, you carve out a chunk to make a bowl. Should survive well enough to boil water, you think. That wasnt in the handbooks, but it should work. >This is probably cheating, most soldiers arent going to have your hard light technology, but you've all already had your asses kicked by snakes and holes, so you shrug it off. >The sun finally sets, the piddly fire murmurs. Mercy still isnt back. >You think to go look for her, something hits you again, this time your back. Is every damn tree a threat?>Ken heard it. Then his face starts to sag. "I saw something.">"What is it?">"Too fast for me to track, I gave it a few playbacks, nothing. Turn around.">You do so, and there was another note pinned to your shirt. "Its going to rain. Ken's fell over no matter how much he tried. He even attempted to rip some vines off the trees, only to dump another snake on his head like Whiskey. >You were able to construct a little triangle like shelter, but its not water proof at all. >Then the rain started. It was bad. Ken is scrambling, swearing and falling over trying to fumble with sticks in the dark. Even with improved night vision, its pitch black. >Whiskey's collapsed on her. She gives up and accepts that she isnt getting much sleep tonight. Everyone is soaked through. >You sit and wonder about Mercy. The woods are supposed to be safe, but you still begin to worry she may have had an accident. >Eventually the rain stops. You pull out your scroll and send Mercy a text. >"Where are you?">"Lost." Is all you get back. >"Do you need me to come find you? I can track.">"No cheating" is what you get in return, followed by a picture of Mercy sitting in a cave. Ken dives in a bush, thats full of thorns. It makes his aura flash just a little. >You decide to ditch the shelter. The clouds have separated, the moon now providing natural light. You slowly low crawl into a pile of leaves. Thankfully youre darker skinned, so you blend in a little more than the others do naturally. The white shirt is a problem. It comes off and gets stuffed into a bag. You grab a bunch of mud and attempt to mask your hair. You have no idea if this would be enough to fool a passing foot patrol or not. >After around 30 or so minutes, no one is moving. Ken falls asleep. >Or at least he did, until Mercy finally comes tearing through the woods at max volume. "Alright, where the hell did you guys go!?">She looks around. The only person she can spot is Ken. >"Ken why are you in a bush?">"Im hiding!" He says quietly. >"Dude you have bright red hair. I can see your tail from here.">Ken's tail quickly flies into the shrub, but he's still obvious. He isnt hiding from anyone. >Mercy looks around, nearly steps on you, and sits under the tree Whiskey is in. "Where is everyone else?">Ken points up. Mercy tilts her head. "Oh. Hi Whiskey.">"Hello. Um. Anga, why are we hiding?">You dont move. You dont speak. You just know this is about to go sideways. >Ken walks out of the bush out into the open. His ear twitches. "I hear something." >He steps around a tree. You hear him hit the ground. >Mercy runs over, he's sound asleep with a post-it note on his forehead that reads "Dead". >Mercy steps back, "He's out....shit he played it back to hard.">"Played what back!?" Whiskey asked in a hushed town. >"I dont know, something made him BWAH!"

Speaking of heights, our shortest male characters are Asher and Lao, both at 5'4", with our tallest being Augustus at 9'2"(and Carnicero at 13 feet tall, but he can shapeshift so I dunno if that counts)

>>77587253I think to a certain extent it would be scary, but in the same way dating a fire fighter or a soldier would be scary. If the huntsman actually loved the civilian and vice versa, the civilian shouldn't ever have to think about that unless it was a specifically discussed and consensual kink. I personally think the real emotional strain would be from the fact that a civilian's partner would be away frequently and in constant danger. Not only do you lose that emotional and physical support or at least an important aspect of it, but there will always be that "what if" in the back of your mind. In other words, while abuse would be easier, and possibly more frequent in civvie/huntsman relationships, the real pain would come from lonliness and fear of losing them to one of the many dangers of their job

What if say that kid Lao killed didn't die but now he has a reason to return home whenever he has a chance to visit his friend
Do you think penny has a whitley bot that she uses to masturbate? Like a bot that she's in control of like her other bodies, but that looks like whitley. Also, would penny literally fucking herself be masturbation or selfcest?
>>77587767Nah, I like to think she has a spare body she can use to bang Whitley with
>>77587767I imagine she'd always have a bot by Whitley's side for security purposes
The Great War was a decade long, interesting. Before I get started on a write up, any one have any headcanons they want to share? I was thinking about breaking it down into four phases and several theatres (and including some of the runoff of what I covered in the Vale and Mantle lore dumps to bring it all together).>The gist is basically that Mistral shot their alliance in the foot on several occasions despite having a numbers and (early) tech advantage over Vale>Vale on the other hand wielded home field advantage, a more experienced army, and information warfare to hold the line until Vacuo's formal inclusion into the conflict
>>77587953There's a couple battles mentioned in World of Remnant so I'd recommend taking a look at those for ideas. As for headcanons I imagine the Vacuan forces were heavy on ambushes and hit and run tactics, attacking camps at night and luring enemy forces into killboxes once Vale had broken their lines of communication. Real underhanded but useful stuff to keep them stressed and jumpy
>>77587953Valeans pronounce it as To-may-towMistrali pronounce it as To-mah-toe
>>77587884Hot>Penny has a beefacke body mainly as a joke>She once went up to whitley with it and told him "you look like a cut of fuckable meat, are you?">That night, the neighbors called emergency services due to whitley's nonstop screaming >>77587918Cute
>>77586671>>77586700>>77586706>>77586820So what are we thinking >>77586706 seems good for what I’m doing but I’ll have additional input
>>77587497I can see that. There's probably a decent chance post school for a huntsman or huntress to meet a civvie. During school i'd imagine less so considering the amount of time studying takes up. It would be more convenient and more likely to either be in a preexisting relationship or meet someone at a combat school. But what you're saying certainly could happen.
>>77588568I feel like >>77586820 is more accurate since some people are just above or below average height
I need to work on it proper, but Magna Kidmon could work for Jet.
>>77588719That’s true but I’d prefer ranges since it’s a tl I feel like the range person got it about right
Gonna do the height list/tl and do the range one
Everytime I see Aeth's doc entry I crack up
Which characters could make and mend their own clothes? And which ones would just throw away damaged clothes?
>>77590148>Which characters could make and mend their own clothes?Maybe Scarlet if Cinder taught her
>>77590148Lao definitely. I know Lumi can sew since she did repair Belka's bow when Alaska ripped it
>>77590148I think characters like Scarlet, Jet, Lupin, Malva, the Vacuans(aside from maybe Alyx and Beryl) would fix or make their own clothes
Discuss, all heights were found on character doc with the exception of Eirwyn's but found his on the archive, not many short girls
>>77590301>>77590484I cannot imagine Scarlet having the patience to repair clothes
>>77590810Maybe she does it as a means of calming herself? I imagine she was at least taught how to do it
>>77590720>Dear Diary.>The Huntsmen forgot about me.>Again.>End of entry.
>>77590922My bad I was mostly looking at the doc but I knew I forgot someone
>>77590920Still can't see it
>>77590720>Short assertive girl with tall introverted guy>Tall cinnamon roll of a girl with short upbeat guyThese are peak relationship dynamics and you can't tell me otherwise

>>77590720It’s interesting the ratio is fairly equal for both sexes.
I wish Vale was real
>>77590720Remember when people used to joke about Romeo being a manlet and then we settled on him being the same height as Jet.
I love Lao so damn much, I wanna kiss him and pick him up. I want to brush his hair and have my hands go through his luxurious locks. I want to hug him whenever he's sad. I want to make him happy.
>>77592632People are fucking cowards. Also I'm headcanoning that he's still a manlet (168cm).
>>77592641Based
>>77592632I still think mazarin should be shorter than liz. Because dwarf mazarin makes me giggle
>>77592641Ok Goose, you can't have him. It was decreed you will never get that boy
>>77592632To be fair, 5’9 is short to a lot of women
Loyal should bite and mark Lao as hers

>Whiskey gets Belka>Cen gets Goose>Loyal gets LaoEntire BGEL getting DOGGED
>>77592946None of them are canon. The first two certainly won't happen
I am Professor Rose's strongest soldier
>>77592946The dogs just plot on BGEL
>>77592946Now Liz just needs to date Sha and the dogging will be complete.

I think gpose would like RUSH
>>77593310Cute!>>77593363Cute..?
Penny should have complete control of the Atlesian government, economy, society, and culture like picrel
>>77593388>RUSHI don't know what that is
>>77593437It's a Canadian rock band. Their music is really good, especially the drums. Natural science is personally my favorite album, if you want a couple really good songs, "working man" "spirit of the radio" "natural science" and "YYZ" are all excellent. I think goose would like them because they're very esoteric and weird, but pleasant to listen to
>>77593557I like Rush, my favorite album by them is Power Windows
>>77593557Sounds interesting. I'll listen to it when I get the chance
That is all
>>77593868Goose x Cen are so cute!

>>77595045Luna looks so nervous looking at a nice BBC
>>77595136I did once, it was when I was in college. She was a lich back then, but I guess she got better before she got reverse yoinked into fork lift.
>>77595046I want to run up to Luna randomly like that and grab her belly
Goodnight ladsI haven't had a good pizza in years. :(

>>77595968>you fucksIt's one person. Presumably a shitter who just hates Luna and posts the same shit every time she's mentioned in an effort to prevent her from being discussed.
