I wonder how many other old reptiles have been posting here so long. But to actually answer, I saw /trash/ get made and I was tired of going through somewhat relevant /co/, /v/ and /tg/ threads to find non-human stuff (let along not monstergirls) and seeing /trash/ be a free for all made it a very nice thread to hang out in. Sadly quite a few of the artists over the years have moved on or gone quiet, which I imagine is how a lot of the decade older guard felt too (2003-2013, I mean). Some other artists like hattonslayden or Tumblr in general in those old threads feel odd to see nowadays.Still, I do enjoy glancing in on the thread each day to see what people are chatting about. Though I tend to bounce around more generals now (a bit funny that, I went from looking at a bunch of different /trash/ threads to just /scaly/ to different /trash/ generals)>>77734106It's unfortunate, I think Chimera Squad was testing the waters for a 3, and when people found it lukewarm, they got cold feet. In the sense of "we don't want to release reskinned XCOM2 again" so 3 is stuck in pre-pre alpha state waiting for an idea man.

>>77734218It's especially sad since Chimera Squad was actually a pretty solid idea. The tactical gameplay was excellent, breach mode and the smaller scale of encounters was really fun. It's a pity they fucked up the strategy layer. Instead of a lite version of XCOM 1's base management, they should have focused it more on the police work theme of the game: leading the investigation into the syndicates while at the same time helping out with regular crime and managing relations with various city factions—mayor's office, regular police, general populace, maybe even XCOM HQ. The ideas are all there and I believe they would work in a full scale game, but I don't think Firaxis is capable of pulling it off anymore.

If you are getting writer's block or being annoyed/dragged down by what you are writing, consider what exactly you *want* to write - is the length you are going for something you actually want to do? Would sizing it down be fine for what you are going for? Or if it's not about length, try brainstorming, sometimes being a sole author trying to think up the next plot point/beat is noble but seeking other opinions isn't the worst idea, whether that be asking someone else, or doing a bit of research on a story similar to what you want to write. (If it's a story similar to yours, what did you like about it, what didn't you like about it, etc are all good questions to ask for your own stories)
