/scaly/ - Scaly General #1549Post lewd reptiles and discuss scaly stuff, male or female is fine. Dragons, wyverns, dinosaurs, lizards, snakes, and reptile-folk such as kobolds and Argonians are welcome, on top of other things with scales like sharks as well. Anthros, ferals and human/scaly are allowed, but please, no monstergirls. As some may take a few creative liberties on their creations, do inquire if there's a particular edge case you're unsure about.====================>Lurking or just reading the FAQ before posting is encouraged.>Anatomy arguments never go anywhere, don't bother instigating one.>Before asking for a source, consider looking into the tips under resources to help find what you're looking for.>Please avoid reposting images from the last few threads to keep the latest more fresh.>There is no Discord server, don't ask.===================Scaly Smut - Many lewd lizard writings>https://mega.nz/folder/pM0EHaQK#qpaXTV7AKpDWNAQn8-ZpYgScaly Lit - Even more lizard writings>https://rentry.org/scalylit>https://rentry.org/scalywnMisc Resources - Source finding and other fun stuff>https://rentry.org/scalygeneralFAQ - Common questions already answered>https://pastebin.com/bpUrZimpYou are free to contribute to either, simply reply and post the information.Did you miss something? >>77806356Writing to you Calorie anon>Wow, you gone far, anon! I've actually read both of your stories, and yeah, you've certainly been practicing. I've been meaning to write a review of your Giratina story (and hopefully the Wyvern one as well), but I, as typical, got very distracted. That's all right, feel free to leave a review on Ao3! Even if you don't have an account, guest reviews should be activated so anyone can commentate on them. I've love to know your thoughts, good and bad. >While Giratina might've not been fat focused, I really enjoyed the description of her enormous, fat tits. Thanks, they were part and parcel to what was asked of the story, so I tried to emphasize them without overdoing it.>I'll go find that list and post them to you ASAP. (big lists)Wow, those are some pretty big ones! I've mainly stuck to a formula of human x nonhuman as it's what I like to see more of, but I'll have to take a look at them some time to get an idea of some other stories. I hope your writing goes well for you too brother.
dear anon that draw displs sign it or give name :v
>Well?
>>77811350>tottIt's hard to pick favourites, Vainquerer the Dragon has to be the best I've read so far if I had to choose though. In terms of anon fics Vipers, Nights, and French Fries would be the fav there. And in terms of current ongoing it would be Draka.Honourable mentions:Not Your Usual Magical Girl recently completed on a good ending (warning: story does contain some h*manform)Hunter or Huntress and it's sister series Learning to Fall. I'm surprised these two haven't been added to the scalywn list yet, they're good even though the og series is HFY so has some cringe at the start and falls for the humans = endurance hunter myth, though the dragonettes and dragons beat humans in every other measure which is a nice change of pace for the genre.
>>77811350>TotTI'm a fan of Playing Goddard tbdesu. I haven't read a whole ton of scaly literature though so I don't have too much room for comparison.
>>77811350Raptors in the Rainforest, the Battle/War Before Time fanfics were good too.>>77814851Haven't read Learning to fall, definitely going to have to pick that one up
>>77811350On the Fringes. That story did things to my heart I didn't even know were possible.
>>77807026>>77807050>>77809329I would recommend some fanfics but they require one to have read arc 2 and Legends: Darkstalker. The only one that just requires to have read arc 1 is about Orca, that animus seawing princess that tried to challenge Queen Coral.https://archiveofourown.org/works/53701996>Orcafall>20 chapters (ongoing), 4045 words>Summary: Every SeaWing dragonet may think they know who Orca was. The Tragedy of Orca, written by Queen Coral, was as full of kelp as all her other writing. This is what really happened…Until now I'm enjoying this fic, it will be interesting to see how the author is going to explain why she decided to create that killer statue from book 2 given that he's aiming for her to be kind-hearted.>I have never read about Blue in WoF (yet)Blue is one of the protagonists of arc 3, an story that involves another continent called Pantala. He's a Silkwing (basically big sized faes that can shoot silk like spiderman) and he's shy and delusional, he aims to be a model citizen in a society where his tribe are second-class citizens.
damn, anon, what did you do to get the whole dragon squad blushing??
>>77817888>yeah I just finished my 12 hour shift flying boxes from point a to point b
>>77811350Declaration of Love to a Dragon is a strong favorite, followed closely by Playing Goddard.
Anyone got some good dinosaur ass? Preferably feral.
>>77811350>TotT is on storiesYay. I'm not picking favourites as it depends on my immediate stream of consciousness.Been enjoying most of the scalywn books that I can keep up with.>The Dragon HeirDespite the hum*nform (well, monster girl technically) in vol 2 (she gets to dragon out enough to string me along and she can use her anthro form because that is apparently a thing once drakari are powerful enough) the story is fun and Jade finally chomped on some tasty elves. Got a new cover so it might be stubbing if you care to read at least the first volume where it goes 100% dragon after the TF chapter.>EmergenceHas finally started posting the rewritten chapters. and I should start it again. Hesitant because of my ever growing backlog.>A Benevolent Evil DragonBeen going steady along with this as the author is doing interesting things with his dragon MC.>>77814851>Hunter or Huntress and it's sister series Learning to Fall. I'm surprised these two haven't been added to the scalywn list yet,They should be on the unreviewed list. Give a quick one-liner for me to add them to the main list.
>>77818963Here you go.>feralI don't see the point of anthropomorphizing theropods beyond eye expressions and giving them more dexterous hands with thumbs. The body plan is pretty good as-is.
>>77819433>Give a quick one-liner for me to add them to the main list.HFY guy gets portal isekai'd into a world with human sized anthro dragons and large regular dragons, trouble and shenanigans ensue including laying one of the Dragonettes.
>>77819433>Learning to FallAnother story in same universe as above series, without the human this time. Dragonette gets shipped off to the capital to work due to financial issues but their Dragon transport is ambushed by bandits and crash lands on an abandoned floating island with no way off.
Would you a birb?
>>77819921>>77820103Added.
What if you played as a dragon in Silksong?
>>77811350>topici think i have to second >>77818912it's been a while since i read either one of those stories, but both are superb>>77818963how's this?
>>77818963You wouldn't happen to be raptor lovin in any discord servers would you
>>77816939>On the FringesSame, lots of feels.Honestly, French Fries, Fringes and Nest egg...Why are there so many good stories about snake women and why aren't they real T___T
>>77811350
>>77811350>tottDragon in the Dungeon and Volunteer Maiden were really nice, along with the whole bunch of xcom ones like On the Fringes, Advent Provides, Vipers, Nights, and French Fries and the others. The Knight's Ward was also great, but anthroforming made me reeee a bit.And if we are talking about examples of pure smut... Dragon Ship with followups, Project Sigma, Whitewillow the Scaled Courtesan and The DragonRider Chronicles. Just love feral x someone smaller.
Hey everybody, check out this cool flag
>>77822886How did they get through the hole?
>>77811350>TotTI will ALWAYS answer Raptors in The Rainforest to any TotT like this.>rich worldbuilding>compelling dinosaur characters>fan-favorite Raptor Pack>god I wish I had a bondmate to chill with (not even necessarily sexual)There is so much to love about it! Go read it on Ao3, anons!!!https://archive.transformativeworks.org/series/371546
>>77823078Crawled through, though would be a struggle with the spine fin and wings
Was this grey stripe on Shade here intentional? It goes against the template.
>>77823145>Raptor Raptor Burning Bright got four sequelsGenuine awe.
>>77822886Did they make him intentionally goofy
>>77824499I see no grey stripe there, it's all black. Did that get fixed already?
I want to be a Tama!
For me? It's Jyothky and Co.
helloI was considering purchasing one of these, but I don't know if its the right idea. first, I don't have anywhere to really put it at the moment, and its 0.6m long, so I would have to store it. Additionally, I would want to display it somewhere safe where it wouldn't get dirty or damaged, as it is a limited production thing. It would be cool to own and I love noodles, but I don't know if I am giving myself FOMO. On the other hand, it would be roughly $200 to purchase, and another untold amount of money to ship this large ass noodle. I don't regularly buy shit, and can afford it. Although it would be cool to own I just don't know if I should. Does anybody on /scaly/ have advice?
>>77826897Well, what's it made with? Is it an articulated BJD, or just a statue? Do you live in the US (meaning you're subject to both the tariffs and the additional flat charge that's now in place since de minimus was halted)?
>>77826897>I would want to display it somewhere safe where it wouldn't get dirty or damagedShop around for a long enough display cabinet, literally took me less than a minute to find one long enough from ikea.
>>77827103its just a statue, polymer clay and a core of wire and quilting batting. I will be subject to those charges. I was looking around for international shipping options, just looking at tenso for shipping and the only companies that seem to ship would cost around the same price as the statue itself.>>77827148the main issue with the display isn't that I don't have one, its that I don't really have space at where I live currently. there's probably some acrylic display box I can pick up with the correct dimensions, just don't got a place to put it.I would appreciate any advice as well as ordering overseas from japan as well, never done it before.
>>77826897So it's a display piece that you don't have the space to display? That honestly sounds like waste of money even if you can comfortably afford it.
>be me>on cooking class>exam time. I have two hours to make an original dish>teacher compliments my dish and cooking skill>feel good>remember that scalies aren't real>feel sad>mfw I will never cook for a scalie>mfw I will never be complimented for my cooking skill by a scalie
>>77827627>your cooking's the best, anon!
>>77827778Thanks bud, it's the closest I'll ever get.
>>77827276>Its just a statue, polymer clay and a core of wire and quilting batting. So not really worth it - usually the extra price is from engineering a moving skeleton, but this is just a hunk of polymer that honestly looks like it should be around $70 tops with that kind of craftsmanship.>I will be subject to those chargesEven worse. With de Minimus repealed, you're paying a flat $80 on that first and foremost; next, $100 for tariff charges, minimum. Lastly, your actual shipping price, which is usually around $25-30 for something that size. So you're looking at a minimum $400 for a statue worth about $70, plus the price of buying a display case to put it in.Pass on it. There are cheaper options out there that you can get locally, including ones you can actually pose - check Etsy.
>>77828102that's fair and very helpful. I was unsure of what to do as I have an extreme weakness to eastern dragons and already love the guys art, so when I saw it I was very tempted and felt some FOMO. I flipped a coin to see if I should buy it, it came up heads so I started researching about purchasing it, but then had doubts so I flipped a coin again and it came up heads 5 times. at that point I thought the coinflip thing was stupid so I just decided to ask instead. i did wish there was more to it, I find it really cute, but I guess I should look for an eastern dragon plushie or something similar instead to fulfill that want.
>>77829859Not to go hard on the other anon but focusing so hard on the market price of things is not how to value something, especially for luxury items like display pieces.Basic economics: People buy things when the value they find in something is greater than the sell price for it. e.g. I'm hungry so I would value feesh highly, I go buy feesh and eat it, I'm no longer hungry and so buying feesh isn't worth it.So regardless if other stuff is better or cheaper, it's how you personally feel about the value of something that makes a purchase a bargain in value for you. If the net price of shipping, shelf and display case is less than the value you place in having one, then it's a positive trade.
>>77821962Nope.>>77821900>>77819549Kino, I could use a bit more cheek though.
>>77830772>I'm hungry so I would value feesh highly, I go buy feesh and eat it, I'm no longer hungry and so buying feesh isn't worth it.Dranon explaining basic economics.
