The core strategy of GH is to grant other players resources in order to garner a positive relationship, thereby encouraging other players to ignore the GH commander in favour of each other. Eventually, the GH wins by either accruing so much resources on the side that it can overwhelm the 1v1, or it decks everyone out with massive card draw. Pillow Forts main strategy is to assemble a defensive board that will eke out the win while lowering the chances of initial retaliation as much as possible, eventually making it impossible for other players to eliminate the PF. The reason why I've paired these two is because of the fact they heavily borrow from one another. PF can gain some utility from giving resources as a tertiary strategy, while GH can use attack disincentives to great effect as their own tertiary. Their biggest connection is their main secondary strategy that is vital to achieve their primary; threat allocation. To explain the subject best, I'll use the prime example; Death Match. It gives your opponents the choice of playing a free bolt every time they play a creature. If you're not playing threats, then of course they're going to target the other players. Which leads to retaliation. And animosity. And eventually game-long vendettas where they belt the shit out of each other instead of you. This principle allows you to easily create threat amongst the other players and consequentially lower your own, and easily comprises the second part of both strategies.Now, onto Group Slug

This allows you to get away with dealing 120 damage without anyone focusing you down. How so? It's all about the unintuitive math behind symmetrical effects. You see, when someone has taken 4 damage, that puts them at a 9/10 disadvantage. A point more and it's 7/8. Eventually, burn reaches a breaking point and the player lashes out at you. However, once the ENTIRE table has taken 4 damage, everything changes. Sure, an individual player may be at a 9/10 disadvantage, but so is everyone else. And because there's three other players who comprise "everyone else", their total disadvantage is 7/10. This means that, when the individual compares disadvantages, they're at a 1/5 profit. So they don't attack the burn player, despite the fact that they dealt 12 damage to the rest of the table. Because despite the burn only having negative value, by the math of symmetrical effects. it becomes ridiculously positive! And this is what the GS player takes advantage of! This psychology of "I can do this. I can beat the House. I can go in, take what I want, and get out before I get burnt." By exploiting their lack of attention & focus, you can sweep the leg and take the win, all while securing the conditions of said win just as surely as resource gain & pillow forting
