All this talk about the "rape scenarios are canonically just roleplay" excuse reminds me of the factoid that Tom and Jerry were secretly friends and just pretending to beat each other up to convince Tom's owners that he was competent at catching mice. Not sure if that's actually true or it's just a headcanon but I've definitely heard it somewhere.
