Just had a thought: why did Jevil and Spamton go insane from talking with the Knight? Did the Knight share some primal truth with them that they couldn't handle? If so why hasn't Kris gone crazy from it? What could it have been?An interesting contrast is that Jevil already considers himself free whilst everyone else is not. Yet Spamton is actively seeking to free himself. Also if Carol is the knight, it's hard to believe she somehow found out some crazy truth that drives darkeners crazy.

I believe a combination of receiving a crystal and speaking with this someone led to both Spamton and Jevil to realize that they're videogames characters. Gerson did not speak with anyone, but did receive a shadow crystal, so he might be kind of aware but not as much as Jevil and Spamton are.

Which I'm assuming will be the penultimate challenge.If all the crystals make the light crystal to in turn create the twisted sword, the idea that the crystals are stringing you along to be inquisitive aligns with Weird Route being heavily hinted towards through many secrets. The Sword Route, and the hidden imagery in the Jackenstien fight to be precise, among other things. TDLR; the third party is subtly hinting towards you to do abandoned weird route IF the shadow crystals create the light crystal for the Twisted Sword.I'm seriously tempted to go for abandoned weird route for my main save on my replay I'm doing now. I was put off from it since some people were claiming it's a trap, but there seems to be too much intrigue saying otherwise. (Really don't want to do weird route to Noelle in Chapter 2, but I hope it's for the greater good.)
