i hate the fact that i have such conflicted feelings about proper submission. Its genuinely fucked. Like, being forced to submit by force, is unbelievably hot. I am the top gamer on my planet. In one particular game anyway. I kept winning even after the affini took over, and one of them kept trying to beat me at tournaments but couldn’t do it. The Affini in the hab next to me seems to just be using it as a greenhouse to grow. I've never met them in person, but I can see their massive, dense foliage through their unusually large windows even from the street. They've completely overgrown their balcony and are creeping up and down the "fire escape." I'm pretty sure the Affini have better ways to deal with fire than rusty ladders hanging from the sides of buildings, and the last time I heard an Affini refer to them, they called it a "trellis." But anyway, my hab, and my balcony, are right next to hers. She's reached out with a little vine feeler and grabbed on to my balcony and is starting to grow over. I've tried knocking on her door to ask her to stop, but she didn't answer. The BXWC actually has a form for this, but it's like eight pages front and back, and requests a LOT of information, some which I don't have. I've seen domestication contacts shorter and less dense. I posted to florrit's f/xenoneighbors board asking for advice and they all said to just said to get some pruning shears and take care of it. "It's your balcony, you can do what you want" they say, "she's trespassing on your property" they say, but I don't think habs really work like that in the Compact. Thoughts? Advice?

I think your best bet is to file the Notice of Uninvited Incursion even though it'll be a hassle. That said, if there is a local affini you happen to like, you now have a legitimate reason to utter some of the most attractive words an independent can say: "I need some help with some paperwork"
but if you really don't want to go that route, put up a shade cloth over the contact area. blocking the light should gently signal the vine to leave.
