I read losertown (https://greenglas.itch.io/losertown). It's clear that the creator is in his early 20s and is putting his "uuugghh I gotta find a boyfriend" wish fulfillment laments into a visual novel, kinda like one of those short twitter "fagslop" webcomics I bump into recently, but it's not on-the-nose. It's also only a demo, you can read it in about ~30 minutes.
Hello again, /fvn/. This time I went for Dead Ringer. It seemed nice, and since it is the season, it felt right. It's a very stylish game with some nice music. It also has one ending so far, but I can live with that. I think the writing is good, but it leans into the humor and quirkiness a bit much. It kind of sours the tone. The stakes are pretty heavy, and it never really feels like the MC really feels that at all. It can be funny at least sometimes, but it misses more than it hits. It's a nice point-and-click adventure overall. It feels very straightforward, and if you get stuck, just asking everyone everything, mostly focusing on new options, will most likely progress things. The whole thing is only about 2 hours long, more or less depending on how much flavor text you choose to read. A much slower turn on the auto clicker or grind the minigame for faster progression. I think it is off to a good start. Might get repetitive after a while, but unlike say robin morningwood, It doesn't expect you to grind for hours just to get one scene. The VN part was good and had a lot of animations as expected.
