This is it anons, this is where the real kinography begins. Or rather it will be once I also figure out a couple other little things lol.But! This is still a major milestone. For months now, I've had visions in my mind of animations where the monster's body slightly deforms to the touch, where areas of fat move and jiggle a little with each heavy step, and things of that nature.Finally, I have managed to get a very basic, real-time, low resolution proof of concept working. Behold.I'm not even going to try and explain what I set up to make this happen, and how it works. One thing you immediately realize when you try and pursue any of this flesh/tissue stuff, is that in its current state, Blender is quite obviously NOT set up and properly equipped to handle this type of stuff, at least compared to some very specialized, very expensive software that big studios normally use.I've been banging my head against this one off and on for like two months now, and it's been an unfathomable pain in the ass, because there's several components of it that haven't wanted to work properly, or outright break in various different ways, for no easily discernible reason.Until now. This is the first time I've gotten everything to kind of sort of work together the way I want it to. It's rough and basic, but it works. It can be refined from here.Imagine; instead of a little sphere moving Velk's flappy bits around, it's a POV animation of (You) tenderly caressing and handling that part of the anatomy, at a higher resolution where you can see your individual fingers dig into the flesh ever so slightly, before you begin to push, grab, or otherwise move it around.I don't know if I'll ever be able to make it that high quality or not, along with any other problems I'll no doubt run into, but that kind of thing is the goal here.

>>78702354I made a post about the possible real world inspiration and function of that anatomy last thread.If Velk's flaps are anything like the canine and feline counterparts that they seem to be based on, then they're barely anything more than loose sections of skin/flexible scales, filled mostly with fat, some loose connective tissues, and some blood vessels.The primary function it's supposed to serve, is to act as a sort of strain reliever between the legs and the main trunk of the body. There's hardly anything there, it's made to flex; it's hardly supposed to be taut at all.Of course, who knows what the actual intent of the capcom artists was. For all we know, there could be an important tendon or something in there. All I can do is try and extrapolate from real world examples, and make my best guesstimation.Either way, you can get an idea for what "green" looks like in my two test examples above.

In my humble opinion, it's cash money.At first I thought it really wasn't doing that much, mainly since my rig can't get above 30 FPS playback in the viewport with everything going on, so it's slowed down by half. But then I did a side by side of the original with two Blender instances at the same time, and that's when I realized it's doing a LOT in a tastefully subtle way.Simply put, to me, the jiggle version just looks so much more natural and organic, or at least when you have it playing next to the non-jiggle version.Another thing I was pleased to see, is that it didn't seem to have any real trouble with the spots where the model clips into itself slightly during the animation. The stress test already pushed that to the extremes, but it's still a nice confirmation.Sometime tomorrow, I'll do a simple render of both to get the full FPS, then edit the two into one video for easy comparison.After that, I think it's time for me to put playing around on hold for awhile, and get back to animating. I really want to incorporate this into my own animations now lol. So many new ideas...And yes, I positioned the camera where it was, just for THAT moment at the end.
