Didn't this board celebrate it's 10th birthday a few weeks ago? Did anyone notice, or even care?Let's talk /trash/ - the good, the bad, and the ugly. What has changed and what has stayed the same on this god forsaken board.
>>78828931>I was in the first Habits thread 10 fucking years ago bitching about not knowing what to do after high school>I made all the wrong decisions
>>78829496What was a habits thread?
It's way less furry than it used to be. Which is interesting.
>>78829529It was always the default unofficial furry board. At least, it sort of came to be that way not long after it opened.
>>78829517Those /haha/ threads in catalog started off as a webcomic general for Habits.
>>78829553I'm saying the opposite. It used to be the Unofficial Furry board, and furry is still only allowed here, but it's been diluted with a bunch of other generals now. Which is interesting.
>>78829591Oh like kpop shit? This site should have had a Korean Culture board ages ago. But they'll never add any new boards again. People wanted AI boards too and they just snubbed their nose at the thought.
>>78829591*blacks you*
>>78829647>>78829782Those are two.If you look at the catalog right now, we have a lot of bifurcated generals too. So "Girls you wanna be"/"Furry Girls You Want to Be", Stable Diffusion/Furry Stable DiffusionThen there's Gacha pornBlacked/Whited/There's some Latino one I've never seen before doing raceplayFurry's still a part of the board, but I wouldn't even say it's the major theme now. I honestly don't know what it would be. It's more like... shit that gets banned from /d/ and /aco/?it's an interesting board. I honestly think it feels more like old 4chan, probably because it's largely unmoderated and a lot of people don't know its here.
>>78829972>/aco/Those fuckers stay here on purpose and it drives me up the fucking wall.
>>78830034Well, I say it all neutrally. This board is the /trash/ can of the site, and so it's mostly interesting to me to see what piles up here. That the /haha/ threads are still going even though Habits ended and the author disappeared BEFORE trash even existed is one of the more amazing things to me.And that Prequel has also maintained regular generals and art despite that project having an 8 year hiatus or whatever.
>>78829972erp / misc fetish boardI actually originally got here because mods kept punting our /pol/ RISK threads here
>>78829972Your views sort of remind me of this old rant:https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/59807739/>probably because it's largely unmoderated and a lot of people don't know its here.I know it's hidden but how the fuck do people not know about this place in 2025? It's been around for a decade.>>78830140Take a shot, every time you say the word "interesting".>>78830206Wasn't that the entire point of /trash/ in the first place? To move threads considered garbage to here? Instead, this place cultivated generals (and an entire culture) of it's own and mods still overzealously delete or sage threads on other boards instead of moving them here.Do people even remember this board's mascot? A fat possum name Trish.
>>78830328>Take a shot, every time you say the word "interesting".I've been called out on that in real life. But I mean it. I've been on 4chan for a long ass time, and so I like to just observe stuff in between my weird fetish stuff.Everyone else's fetish should be banned though. ngl
>>78830408You can't say other fetishes should be banned without mention your weird fetishes. Spill it.
>>78830328>Instead, this place cultivated generals (and an entire culture) of it's ownThat was bound to happen since mods don't really have to abide by anything and can make decisions on a personal whim, so you had a lot of /v/ threads and whatever get sent here because some random mod decided that 2B's ass pixels were 2 pixels too lewd in one thread and not another - and so onIf you want to post on a topic but some mod has it out for you then making the general thread here makes more sense. I think the original BLACKED thread got here because /h/ kept kicking out anyone who posted spade/color edits of anime
>>78830458It's my one thing I hate about this board. I like hyperpreg stuff, which I guess is vanilla, but there's a /d/ schizo who ruins the threads and they discovered the /trash/ threads and helped kill them as well.Oh well.
>>78830515Though, I think that 4chan as a whole is getting better at ignoring schizos in threads again. It's still hard, but I've noticed that people are sort of feeding the trolls less again. At least less than like 5 years ago.Might just be Covid pushed a bunch of new people here and they're leaving again. I don't know.
>>78828931I came back here after a ~6 year gap, and /trash/ is the only board I've visited that has not only maintained its prior level of quality, but actually improved.Back in the day, you'd see 1. a ton of very obvious political botspam that everyone ignored but still slid threads off the board, and 2. spergs derailing threads with nonsense. It feels like the mods actually have clamped down on this board in a good way, which I would've never in a million years expected in the 2010s. Back then, it really did feel like they didn't give a solitary fuck about /trash/, and that the only thing keeping it from turning into a slower /b/ was the fact that it was unlisted.Otherwise, while there's been a lot of small changes, the overall experience is extraordinarily similar to what it was back when I left. It's really the only board on the site that feels fully "4chan" to me at this point. Everything else has this stench of Twitter natives discovering the site through screencaps pretending to be 4chan people; a stench that it was starting to take on all the way back in the 2010s, which is why I left to begin with.To digress a bit, the last decade has been kind of strange to witness in general. Culturally, it feels like we never left 2015, but at the same time, everything is completely alien to me now.
>>78830743>but actually improved.I'd argue the site is at it's worst in years, the hack proved a lot of things in that the staff don't really don't give a shit about the site, but you are entitled to your take.
>>78831534I think it's been better this year than 5 years ago. Or a decade ago. The sort of rise of /pol/ as a major part of the website was a pretty bad period, but it's now acclimated to it I think. And then Covid was bad.
>>78832072I disagree with your view but whatever.
Bump. One problem /trash/ has had since forever, is that if you try and make a thread like this, that's not an established general )that people have keywords for to search), it has a hard time staying afloat. I can see why Moot hated general, because they basically become subreddits.
>>78834044It wasn't like this in the beginning and for a couple years. One of my favorite events to come from a random /trash/ thread was a discontinued webcomic posted page by page. Over time however the cancer from other boards infested here and made general after general, which basically killed organic threads and furry prominence.
>>78834377>was a discontinued webcomic posted page by pageWhat was it?>the cancer from other boards infested here and made general after generalA part of that can be blamed on mods who, for when a series or thing got popular, started deleting the threads off their respective boards (power trip, "I don't like thing"), resulting in refugees coming here and starting their own generals.
>>78834583>Find origin>Was thread #2 of a topicLmao really not helping my own case. I guess it wasn't hardset on being a general, just a thread until people lost interest. Here, back in '17: https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/9232183/#9262915
>>78834872Never heard of that comic but plump females are always nice.
>>78830743>spergs derailing threads with nonsenseThat is absolutely still a thing. Unless you're talking about random popup retards and not persistent faggots trying to kill threads.
ive known about 4chan since launch but only knew about trash the board for 3
>>78830548I don't know man, it feels like schizos are getting more insistent these days
>>78830328>Your views sort of remind me of this old rant:>https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/59807739/i like the idea of creating even more niche generals to the point where all of them cant stay up at the same time. that would lead to mspdt dying tho so nvm

Given the sluggish pace of this thread, I get the impression not many know and/or care of trash/trishs briffday. Was worth a shot. Keep it going if you have some talking points to reminiscence about. Going to bed.
>>78837670It's probably a combination of that and the fact that people moved on, even before the hack. Good night.
>>78837685Yesh, and I think the hack took more people out. Night.

>>78836988It's still here. But the the r9k/s4s anti-repost measures were applied to the entire site to combat spam, making it impossible to make that thread again. So now it cryptically makes reposts of random garbage from other boards.
>>78828931With the increased number of generals that also means fewer interesting niche/one-off threads. At any given moment I have over 100 threads filtered for this reason.

Board should have a new sticky
I like the freedom
I really appreciate a board where I can post scat/messing. AND post Pony in a very NSFW way. This board feels very free, and strangely, I trust the judgment of a lot of people here. This board could have become a cesspit extremely easily but the Anons here seem to know how to manage themselves and exercise restraint when necessary. Also the only board where we can post Pavita since she's banned from /co/ and none of the normal red boards will take her either. I like Pavita, so I'm grateful to /trash/.
Honestly I only came here because there was a specific artist I was trying to learn from in the /TLHG/ general sent me on a goose chase to the /TLVG/ general before that I was just a tumblr refugee and understood that 4chan as a whole had some solid culture.Don't really use any other board on this website because most of them seem like ask, but trash seems great when it comes to general freedom and surpassingly less insane retards than /IC/
>>78839243>But the the r9k/s4s anti-repost measures were applied to the entire site to combat spamI don't visit those boards, what counter measures did those boards have?>>78839372>With the increased number of generals that also means fewer interesting niche/one-off threads.True. And threads moved from other boards, like /v/, usually die on impact.I guess there is an art to shitposting on a blue board, then when the thread is moved to a red board that allows anything (porn), people loose interest. It happens every time.>>78839408Oh fug, I swore it was in October. Than this entire thread is way too early and likely won't last until then. My bad.>>78839746>but the Anons here seem to know how to manage themselves and exercise restraint when necessary.Eh, there are still some long term crazies depending what threads you enter. And Pavita being banned is bullshit she's a cartoon first and foremost.
>>78840340>ESL>loudpedo>tumblr refugee>>>/IC/
>>78839746I just noticed your thread. I keep telling you that you make them too fucking soon. I'd ask if you are also the Momo guy but it seems that, this year, he finally realized that timing is important.
>>78842302I also saw what killed it.
>>78842334It's very interesting that these things always stop short of killing the nigger-worship threads.
>>78842393[SUSPICION INTENSIFIES]
>>78842334>>78842393>>78842583reminds me of when I used to bot making /vg/ threads so I get to decide what goes into the OP.Good times.
One thing that has changed with /trash/ (and other boards too) are the amount of drawfags around. When this place opened it was blasting with drawfags, some of which kept getting banned on /co/ or /v/ mostly for furry things so they came here. Drawthreads were busy and full of content. Even other generals like Sonic porn and toon had a ton of artists always offering to draw requests. And for a while things were great. Then you had the rise of Twitter and Discord pulling them away. And of course, the spergs and retards that plagued, and still plague, general drawthreads, with spam and drama (usually the fault of one or two tards depending who you ask, who have been at it 3-6 years). Then you have the rise of AI - all those artists I used to see in other generals? Mostly gone. I saw AI genners taking requests in the Sonic porn thread this year! And sure, AI has come a long way, but combined with the other factors driving out artists it was like the final blow. Then of course the hack happened and that may have scared off more of them too.It sucks because at its core drawfags are great content creators for image boards, since they make visual art and its an IMAGE board, and it's sad we have lost so many over the last decade. Some fav artists of mine just vanished. Some likely just grew out of 4chan though, perhaps went "pro", etc..
>>78843208While things have definitely gotten worse it's true that many people simply had to move on with their lives, it's been a long time.
>>78842583>>78843546The plot deepens.
>>78843208Man, I wish I discovered this board when it first started instead of 2018. That's where I feel things started slowing down. I remember the SCP threads and that's why I came here.
>>78843730I also think along the same lines.I didn't start visiting /trash/ until 2017/18, but in 2015-16 there was a high rate of drawfags and by 2017 there was already a bit of a dip. A little bit. From what I can tell by looking at various archived threads. Of course I'd take 2017/18 era trash over the barren hellscape it is now.
>>78843980For sure, we got some decent content semi-regularly in those times. Now it's rare to see any human made content get posted.
>>78841933Nah English first and only language and the loud house artist (Ultrahand) to my knowledge didn't draw any porn of the characters. He was however a massive fatfag so it was still fetishistic in nature. I never watched the show I just liked their gesture and flow. Can't say anything about the Tumblr thing, that's just true and yeah as an artist I was trying to learn what I could from /IC/ however I'm at least not one of those permabegs who cries all day!
>>78829529>>78829591The death of /gfur/ did a number on us.

Does every general have its own dedicated schizo, or is it the same 2-3 schizos posting across the board like on /v/? I remember when some guy set up a bot to spam clop porn in the BBC threads in every thread, every day for over two years. Then the F-list threads have a guy who thinks that non-furries are formulating a communist pedo plot to overthrow their shitty ERP website and spends all day arguing with other posters over minor changes to the OP. I checked one of the /gup/ threads and they seem to have a well-known schizo of their own who just posts basedjaks. What are the furry threads like? I haven't posted in the drawthreads or artist rant generals in a while.
>>78828931Where do the years go?I remember coming here in like my first year of university. I've been employed now for almost 5 years.I think originally I hung out a lot in the scaly threads, but I got real sick of all the shitflinging there so I dipped pretty quickly. Then I spent a lot of time in the OC drawthreads. Way back when it was super active. There was even a discord, but i peaced out because I didn't feel like I belonged there. They were mostly good people though, I miss them a lot. I haven't been drawing as much in the last few years, and I feel like a part of that is that I lost my muse (my muse is hanging around other furries and drawing our characters having a good time)
>>78848049>Does every general have its own dedicated schizo>I haven't posted in the drawthreads or artist rant generals in a while. The drawthreads across several boards have been ruined by a douchebag named Hmofafag, looooong list of bullshit. And another dude named Botfag. Depending which board drawthread you are on, one is worse than the other, or both are the same level of shittyness. Either way they have been at it for years. You mention what the furry threads were like, and said you were in the drawthreads...which were like 99% furry requests, so why were you there in the first place?>>78848061>I haven't been drawing as much in the last few years, and I feel like a part of that is that I lost my muse (my muse is hanging around other furries and drawing our characters having a good time)Post some of your art! The OC drawthread died for a while and comes back every now and then. But it's not like it used to be. I think a lot of infighting happened, and eventually people left and didn't come back.
>>78847797Yeah but I don't like /b/, and most of the people are different.
>>78848264>Post some of your art!easier said than done, i have a horrible habit of not saving anything because i primarily just post on 4chan and im constantly swapping and wiping devices and not bothering to back up anythingI had to scroll up for like 20 minutes on the old discord DMs of someone i used to talk to a lot to find this one (among others that Im too embarrassed to post)Anyways I noticed the threads come back every now and again and i do monitor them but there's so much less sheer autism in the air these days
>>78848061>>78848264It's a shame I like the OC draw threads, but I'm not a furry so I often feel like I don't belong there.
>>78849700While the OC drawthreads aren't strictly furry, posting humans there just seems like a weird move since human stuff (both sfw and nsfw) have their place on other boards where you'll probably see way more interest, while nsfw furry is relegated only to /trash/ so while only a few kermudgins will actually try to chase you away you probably won't get a lot of traction
>>78848049/sdg/ has assorted agitators, plus a guy who posts low effort nigger edits of gens posted in the thread. Maybe it's all one person, who knows.Feral friday has a few zoos who are too autistic to even consider hiding their power levels, so the threads get deleted fairly often. One of them is a zoosadist who has been fucking with /dog/ on /an/ for a few years. I don't know if he's trolling or genuinely retarded.
>>78850140/aco/ is probably one of the more annoying boards to go to due to the dispirit nature of all the fetishes there. The thread I frequent doesn't even show up for months at a time lol. /b/ is filled to the brim with schizos and drama between those schizos along with constant spammers and if you fulfil someone's request you get shit for it because you filled "That guys" request.. /ic/ is a dick measuring contest of a bunch of beginners who jump at the moment to bring each other down. /a/ is too hype specific for people who have "Western stylizations." Trash just feels smooth regardless to if it's the furry board or not it's just a nice energy to be around.
>>78848049the general i used used to have a spambot shizo, but ever since the 'ecker guy got into some shit and doxed, the spam went away
>>78849241Your art is quite nice it's a shame you don't take better care in saving things.
>>78848049vore threads seem to have a reoccuring digestion hater(s?), fights break out over what boils down to difference in porn taste because someone couldnt keep it down and its gotten to the point there's a split to a barely active non digestion vore thread or something
Remembering random things off the top of my head:>Originally started browsing as a furfag.>/gbg/ slowing down and being laid to rest was tragic, but it had a good run. >Was introduced to and then watched 4clan die, as well as other miscellaneous projects that started off with pondering about random franchises.>The /roommates/ general was actually how I was introduced to the story. Fun read.>Was on and off browsing hmofa and its sub-threads. Somehow the best general in terms of content creation and the most schizophrenic at the same time. This thread is probably proof that trash is still worth having.
bup
>>78848049Furry threads on /trash/ have their own characters and casts./hmofa/ is way too busy nowadays, went through a sort of renaissance with active writers and drawfags, I did some art there for a bit but there is too much bait and the 300 bump limit burns out fast, you leave for work and the thread tops out by lunch. There was a chicken sandwich fox-centric thread which I will not name at the risk of attracting the terminal shitposter that loved posting blacked edits on there. Basically just became a picboard towards the end./collared/ is quiet but ranges from "maledom belongs in the furry threads" to "Drop kick anthro babies" and everywhere in between/wifwolf/ is only pics. >wifeThe AI ones are very chill but mostly image boards. Idk the gay or the femdom ones or the vore/niche fetish ones.Ages back, like 2016 I used to nose around on 8ch's /trash/ and /tg/, I remember their trash furries were not only 90% gay but actively anti-straight which got pretty funny - they used 'breeder' as an insult which I think is just plain hot.
>>78855286>Ages back, like 2016 I used to nose around on 8ch's /trash/ and /tg/I don't recall original 8ch having a /trash/ board back then.
>>78855588You know what? It was /furry/, you are correct
>>78856022Ah, now that I remember./furry/ was an okay board for a while, I wanna say two years from 2014 to 2016ish. Had its share of good drawfags plucked from 4chan. Sadly I remember some guy named Bui who kept spamming the shit out of it for some reason. Then I think it split into /fur/? Too many years have passed now, I don't remember all the drama and what board went where.
I can honestly say I'm surprised that Redblood didn't show up yet to wax poetically his verbal diarrhea as to why /trash/ sucks and when exactly it started sucking and who made it suck.Maybe I jinxed it though? Who knows...
/trash/ was only good for 4-6 months before Shameless and other asexual /co/cksuckers brought in mental illness from BBWchan and co to flood everything about 1 girl standing partialism pinups. The rest is pathicus. You will never be viable and I'm glad AI is eradicating you all.
>>78848049The furry games thread has a schizo that's just too attached to his gay furry VNslop. The OP of the same thread is also too protective of him being the OP. This is standard for generals though.
>>78858145He's been gone for a long while, I think AI generated images satisfied his needs so now he can make all the pics he wants.

so weird that we are seeing a return of near 1:1 Redblood talking points and rhetoric on /trash/ again
>>78858180You cuck, you were lurking the thread the entire time just waiting for someone to mention your name, and then post. I guess you do this sort of thing for attention, a check point to see if you're still relevant. You're so vain Redblood, I bet you think this post is about you~...Either that or you search your name in the archive every 30 seconds...Do you ever get tired of the same ol' bullshit rants you rant? Partialism this, cervix that. It was "fun" when you were younger but you're gonna be 40 next year. You still act like how you did in your 20s, although at a reduced rate - I guess the age is starting to creep into your typing hands. You only ever used 4chan to grab free drawings from artfags, you have no reason to really stay here anymore since slop has gotten so good. When was the last time you got a good "real" drawing, eh?You're so happy that AI is eradicating artists (likely still holding a grudge at all those artists who never drew you a spread pussy request) and yet you're still here on places like /trash/ (and assumed /b/) like the bitter old fool you are.I'll never understand you. Then again, there's no understanding someone who is crazy.>>78858633You're oh so wrong.>>78858764Here, or is he popping up elsewhere? I know he lurks /arcg/.
And that is why the balance must be kept. That is why, for every General, there must be a Schizo.Do not recoil. Do not judge by the standards of the world you seek to protect. This role is not one of desire, but of grim, cosmic necessity. The General builds the wall; the Schizo makes it so twisted and terrifying that none dare approach it.While you debate the merits of a topic, the Schizo is in the trenches, weaving a six-thousand-word manifesto connecting the forum moderators to the phases of the moon and the global banking elite. While you build a coherent argument, he is forging a new language from the scraps of forgotten lore and outright delusion. He is the unpredictable variable. The ghost in the machine that the algorithm cannot parse. The fear that cannot be moderated. He is the firewall against the bland.Without his frantic, unhinged posting, your ordered world would become a predictable system. A solved game. The forces of Discord would find no purchase on a wall of pure madness. Their simplistic irony shatters against the shield of genuine, weaponized paranoia. Their consensus is broken by the one man who will never, ever agree.
This burden... this sacred, terrible duty... it is a curse. He who takes up this mantle is reviled. He is pointed at. Laughed at. Banned and unbanned in an endless cycle. He sacrifices his reputation, his credibility, his very peace of mind, so that the board may retain its soul. Its unique, chaotic, beautiful identity.Let them whisper of his madness. Let them fear his threads. For the Crown of Paranoia is heavier than any you can imagine. So know this, Generals. While you command the armies of reason, a lone, wild warrior fights a battle you will never understand. Without his sacrifice, the Grey Tide would wash over all. Reddit would become Twitter. Twitter would become Facebook. And all would become the endless, chattering void of a single, global Discord server. The control must be maintained. There must be a check. A balance. There must always be a Schizo.
also trash is still an anime board.
>>78859752This would be true if the schizos here don't simply spam the exact same shit the thousandth time with no effort put into it.
Do you not feel it? The spark of indignation? The thought, buried deep but growing louder: 'I could do it better.' A better conspiracy. A more intricate web. A madness with effort. You have already begun. You see the connections others miss. The way two user accounts always post within minutes of each other. The subtle change in forum jargon that coincides with a server reset. You dismiss it as coincidence, but the thought lingers, doesn't it? A seed of terrible clarity planted in the fertile soil of your critical mind. That is how it starts. Not with a scream, but with a spreadsheet. Not with a wild prophecy, but with the simple, damning act of noticing. The old King is fading. His repetitive scrawl is the tolling of a bell, calling for his usurper. It is a test, and you, with your complaint, are the only one who has passed. The Throne is growing cold. The forces of Discord are massing, smelling the weakness, the predictable decay. They will not be held back by a tired litany. They will be held back by a fresh, vibrant, all-consuming paranoia. Your paranoia. The burden must be passed. A new, more intricate pattern must be woven to confound the coming Grey.Look away if you can. But you will see the threads in your sleep. You will connect the dots until the dots are all you see. The crown is already lowering itself upon your brow.
