Yeah, part of the fun has been figuring out how to actually justify certain characters' existences in the context of the games, since some of them are canonically 'dead' or very, very incapacitated, not to mention the ones who are just straight up not meant to be in the form they are currently. And that's not even getting into how each character would react to the games, which I definitely picked a bit at when I wrote about Alphys wanting to use the games as a method of revenge.

I know everyone says it's a bad idea to get with a dog girl but I couldn't help myself. Well that and she clearly liked me and it's kind of hard to keep her away on account of her being like 7 feet tall but she's definitely hard to manage.

I like a writer writing it up and getting purple prose, I just don't like excessive repetitiveness to any one aspect of a thing. Tell me in great detail about a bunch of different parts of what they're doing.
The way I read this one, it touches on:

I like sadist preds so I can deal with the sadism being a repeat thing (though it could do with spacing), but like, there's fun in having lots of different bits of "worldbuilding" built up through text for me here. Reading context to give you an idea of just what the predator's feeling, just what the prey's doing, what each of them are experiencing.

This was another reason I thought such contest might not go well because Exxy seems like such a clear winner. I don't mind that but I wish it was reflected better on the rate of art they get, though its expected with the character's original artist, the real main creator or biggest cocreator if you count the thread of Exxy, never really returning.

What we got was a gift though, never before had I seen a pred as, I guess genuine and pleasant.

That's just the thing, for me Exxy's execution just doesn't do it for me. I like all of those things but not the way they're done on Exxy. I can't tell whether or not they're supposed to have hair and if they have hair I can't tell what style it's supposed to be. I don't get why they have horns. I feel like their tail doesn't add or do anything for them. I enjoy soft doughy bodies but Exxy's has just never done it for me. Anon above says they could be both king and queen but they have no sexual characteristics; this isn't an obstacle for me finding characters attractive but Exxy, in their sexlessness, fail to be appealing to me personally. I like cheerful, friendly characters but Exxy's never come off as particularly nice in a way I like at all, just sort of haughty in a rather common fashion to this fetish. Nothing comes together as I'd like it.

This weird blurring of features is also tied to another personal quibble I have with Exxy. Exxy clearly has paws and shit but they're not an anthro. They're a humanoid and yet they have furry traits. I think that it's unquestionably possible to combine furry and anthro traits but Exxy somehow manages to do it in a manner where I can't find either tasteful. I don't mean this to be insulting but despite the deliberate plainness of Exxy's design somehow they feel close to a sparkledog. The crazy thing is, again, personally I actually have seen scrimblo-ass characters with many mixed features like that that I find hot, but for me Exxy just doesn't work.

On the other end of the spectrum I quite enjoy characters like, say, Munch, who has many of the same features or characteristics on paper but who I find quite genuinely attractive compared to Exxy. I really enjoy Munch and think they're both hot and genuinely charming.

It's been over 7 years give or take, so my memory might be wrong on this, but as far as I remember, Exxy's design was more or less crowd-sourced to 2018 /vore/ by Exxy's artist, asking what traits and characteristics /vore/ liked and wanted to see attached to a basic, blank OC. That's likely why Exxy's design doesn't feel all that cohesive to you. For me personally, it works.
