/scaly/ - Scaly General #1573Post lewd reptiles and discuss scaly stuff, male or female is fine. Dragons, wyverns, dinosaurs, lizards, snakes, and reptile-folk such as kobolds and Argonians are welcome, on top of other things with scales like sharks as well. Anthros, ferals and human/scaly are allowed, but please, no monstergirls. >>79131295>ToTTNO, AND I'M TIRED OF YOU ASKING... Well, probably not. I mean, maybe. I don't really like dinos, and I prefer my dragons scaled. Closest I've fantasized about is the KigYar. But that's not a lot of feathers. If they were the only option, I'd smooch. I'm not that picky. But they're not my first choice.
yeah, sure.actually i dont really care about dragons at all.
>>79131295>Would you a birb?Ritual post subverted :(Yes I would to answer my own question. The next thing to ask is would a birb me?
>>79131295Yes, honestly I'm a pretty weakly affiliated scalie overall. I like scaled dragons and dinos, but I also like fluffy dragons, feathered raptors, and I'm not much of a fan of cloacas 90% of the time. And to be 100% candid I don't even think lizards are that cool IRL. Reptiles are very dumb, cold, and impersonal compared to mammals, which is probably why I and so many others kind of blatantly transpose mammalian traits and behaviors onto fantasy scalies all the time.
Yes, if the birb looked like this. Though she's gonna have to walk me through the + shape anatomy
>>79131295As long as they pass the harkness test, yes.

>>79131928Feathers are just modified scales anon, sorry that this is how you had to find out
>>79131295>TotTAbsolutely. I'm a massive cuddleslut and that feathery floof looks like it would be absolutely divine to bury myself in. Big tails are nice, too, and I feel like birbs would be way more energetic than regular scalies. Also, it is now my belief that birbanon is secretly a thick-legged blue raptor, covertly looking for the right anon to them.

/dig/ is posting a bunch of kobold drawing tutorials. You should draw a kobold anons. For real though, that could be a fun /scaly/ activity, someone posts a bunch of guides like this and anons can go through them together. No expectations of getting good results and no pressure, just a neat little lighthearted challenge. Maybe get some anons to make that OC they've been thinking of forever. That's actually a great thread TotT too, I'd love to see /scaly/ anons' OCs and know what the denizens of this thread are up to. I know some of you have something cooking.
>>79131295any kind of scaly will do for meso yes, I would a birb, I would a dragon, I would anything else inbetween
>>79133288The artist actually posted a whole bunch of these elsewhere. I don't think I'm going to dump all of them here unless any anons are specifically interested, maybe I'll save them for a thread activity or something next go around. Very neat design and they seem pretty accessible just because of how simple the style is, I'll bet anyone here with a mouse could make an okay looking 'bold in 2 or 3 tries.
>>79133327Just dropping one more after this just so you can get a basic functioning 'bold if you so desire.
>>79133343That's it. (you) should try drawing one anon!
>>79133343W...where did he get a gun>fun /scaly/ activityThat thread we had a while back where everyone posted MSPaint creations was great pic rel
>>79130502>looks like some kind of egg>lol, what a babyIt's a Guardian pod. In Monster Hunter Wilds, it's revealed that an advanced ancient civilization had been growing and genetically modifying synthetic monsters called Guardians prior to their downfall. Most Guardians are just clones of preexisting monsters, with a few tweaks made to them to make them subservient to humanity, but they also went and created a canon Equal Dragon Weapon called Zoh Shia from a combination of several different monsters' DNA - apparently, bits from all three known Fatalis forms, some Gore Magala, and possibly some Shara Ishvalda, though there's likely more mixed in there that we don't know about. The Guardians are all grown in clone pods like that one there (the background of the image seems to be a literal screenshot of one of the pods), and we see new Guardians pop out of them at regular intervals in-game (the one in the image is an anthro Guardian Seikret).
>>79131295BIRB WOULD YOU I.
>>79134665This is what happens when you would not the birb
>>79131622Yes, yes, every day of the week!Male or female. From oral with a Gull to everything with an Ostrich. And an imprinted Bird would definitely do me.
>>79135183Let them have at me, making love to my mouth and filling me up.Whiz, jizz and shiz, it's all heaven.
>>79132340The two expressions for Lizy are still in the works but since there was an invitation to draw kobolds (>>79133357) I made a quick first version for the trenchcoat duo.
>>79131684>Reptiles are very dumb, cold, and impersonal compared to mammalsreally depends on the reptile and the mammal. sedentary ambush predators and burrowers are pretty much always going to dislike being handled, but they make for popular terrarium pets because they're not constantly trying to escape and explore the house (usually).they're not nearly as stupid as people think they are, the whole "reptilian brain" idea as some primitive basic brain compared to mammals has been widely disproved but still persists in cultural ideas about reptilian, mammal, and bird intelligence. the whole premise of the triune brain model was based on a misidentification of parts of reptile brains in the first place.not sure where you got the idea that they're all "cold and impersonal" - or that all mammals aren't. this is more a question of whether the species is social in any way, and there are quite a lot of reptile species that are (they often do poorly in captivity often because they need cohabitation, so people are less exposed to them). the aforementioned solitary terrarium species are "cold and impersonal", but that's because they want to be unbothered in their hiding places between meals. it's a hunting style that doesn't select for activity or much intelligence, and actively selects AGAINST curiosity.for a clear example of this, common snapping turtles are curious, active, and much more intelligent than alligator snapping turtles, which just sit someplace and wait for fish to come by. it doesn't take much brains to do the latter, and brains are a lot of calories to run.

>>79133696so it's a rehash of Xeno'jiivaalways kinda felt bad about killing Xeno'jiiva, since it kinda stumbles around after hatching and we just start wailing on the thing. it hatches, and then all it has known in it's first 30 seconds of life is a pack of murderiously violent apes trying to beat it to death with the body parts of other creatures they've killed.
birds aren’t cool enough to be real scalies
>>79136351Amazing so far on these two little knuckleheads, the little fake mustache gave me a big chuckle, nicely done!
>>79136894>so it's a rehash of Xeno'jiivaKinda. There's hundreds of pods down there that are constantly hatching (Guardians are the primary creatures populating the Ruins of Wyveria zone), and Zoh Shia itself is apparently immortal and keeps regenerating itself each time you kill it; Zoh is also the only one that wasn't in a cocoon when you meet it, since it had already been awake 2000 years prior and just put itself into stasis to feed off of the Dragon Torch all this time.

>>79138290People are trying to spook her in the comments; Ryu herself doesn't seem too concerned, but she is somewhat curious about where her stuff is being posted and what the context is.I don't think she realizes that a lot of artists who hang out on FA also post here...or that Reddit, where she's recently started posting her stuff over the past week or so, is actually far worse than this place is these days.
>>79138175Ryukiri, if you're seeing this, I really, REALLY, want to beat Noelle to a bloody pulp. I WANT TO DO GIFREL TO HER. I WANT TO HURT HER SO MUCH IT'S UNREAL.I'll then cuddle her afterwards.

>>79138931Just the same old, same old. 4chan is a mere husk of itself; most of the crap that goes on in the public boards here these days is bot posting...or invaders from Reddit. /trash/ is pretty much all that's left that even vaguely resembles old 4chan, and that's because the drooling, underage idiots who have infested the rest of the site haven't all figured out how to get here (or know and avoid it because it's 'the Furry board'). Since the people who hang out in the cesspools that are /b/, /v/, and so on are the same crowd that hangs out on Reddit, and since Ryukiri has (willingly) decided to post her own art there (as has Sevour and a few others; not sure what's spurring the trend right now), she's already exposed herself to far worse than she'll see here in /scaly/.>>79138954>i dont even know who this isYou must be new here. New as in 'you've only been here a few days' new. Ryukiri's stuff has been posted here for years, always in a good light. I think you may need to see yourself out.
>>79139122Honestly I've always been pretty impressed with how chilled out /scaly/ is compared to the rest of this site and other scaly/furry communities. I know the discussion has been had ad-nauseum (sic) but the lack of political shitflinging plus a steady stream of OC really keeps this place pleasant. That being said if she did find this thread I hope she'd be smart enough to not broadcast it to her followers; a little bit of gatekeeping is healthy after all.
>>79139122>posting art on redditWhere else? DA has been filled with AI gens that many artists are against, bluesky is worse twitter you choose if you want your art to reach extra premium loons, FA is the DSP of furry websites...I just post pictures wherever and whenever, now sit down and have some of that funny human drink, I believe it's called "wine". Funny how a dragon can nap for a few centuries and wake up to vast fields of "vineyards" stocked full of it right next cave, though they didn't like me sampling entire cellars.
>>79139400>Honestly I've always been pretty impressed with how chilled out /scaly/ is compared to the rest of this site and other scaly/furry communities. It's because we make sure tranny faggots and Wings of Fire fans aren't welcome here (repeating myself). Pretending to be all welcoming and includive only attracts furry puritan faggots that drag everyone down into their collective buckts like crabs. ALSWAYS say NIGGER and always say fuck troons and f*moid white knights
>>79139400/scaly/ is very chill compared to other scaly/furry places I frequent. Besides the occasional troll, this place is nice. I like Ryukiri's art but I hope she does not find this thread. It would feel weird.

>While these augmentations and modifications served a multitude of practical purposes, the ultimate goal of such practices was for members of the Xia Dynasty to "cast out" their human forms in order to physically resemble Fuxi/Mother Serpent as a way of ascending to a higher state of being. And now I feel envious
>>79140221>snitches get human form
>>79138175hi ryukiri, your white knight orbiters were talking about this editnow get in the basement
>>79138175>>79140221As already mentioned by others in the last thread >79097777, I adore this blue floof dragon. But I completely understand that others here might not do so simply because she's not scaly. While I'd love her to see the positive comments about her character, I also want her to stay ignorant. Noelle usually isn't being posted that much to annoy scaly puritans or otherwise get much attention.Situations like this however feel like an invitation for trolls, and while there was always that one crazy anon who wanted to punch her, I wouldn't be surprised if we now see an increase of such posts.Despite this, I still think places like /scaly/ or /AMH/ aren't nowhere as bad as people think this site out to be. If not for /scaly/, I probably wouldn't have discovered her art and that's something I'm thankful for. Things might get rough and raunchy at times, but the nice art (especially the wholesome ones) being shared here more than makes up for it.
>>79132340>Of course if there's other memes you'd like to see I can attempt to work them in.If there is some way to work in a rivalry between a secretary bird and a snekratary coworkers either as background characters or more if you have the inclination.
>>79141431Even if it was a wyvern and even if it had proper weight and proportions, the fur much like feathers would add significant weight, enough to affect or render flight impossible UNLESS you go down to size of something like albatross. At the same time, lack of fur/feather limit the height at which wyvern can soar as it gets REAL cold up there.
