Where should I start?A: Do the exercises in either "Keys to Drawing" by Bert Dodson or "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. Additionally, you can try the first few lessons of https://drawabox.com/ for building up muscle memory.

Hello /dig/. I’ve been drawing for about a year and a half give or take, and while I am happy that I have stuck with drawing, I 100% have shot myself in the foot with the way I have been doing it.Because despite sticking with drawing, I have not been putting in the practice I should have. I haven’t done any Draw-a-Box lessons or simple warm-ups with fundamentals, nor have I read any drawing books or even watched youtube tutorials. My main ‘workflow’ is simply just snagging a reference image and then trying to draw it with the character I want in it.Now I regrettably find myself floundering around and not improving or really knowing what direction I should go. Should I start over and fall back to Draw-a-box? Scrounge around and follow youtube tutorials for once? Or maybe commit to grinding out fundies?Really I’m open to any advice or recommendations, hopefully to boot myself into a more productive direction.
