I just got the small nitpick that a small playful surprise kiss really would've meant the world for the fans after 9 years of waiting. Like, according to the picture books the ending just has Judy say "I'll erease it, after our next case"

imagine the closing scene that is described in the novel this way:

I am trying to be hopeful, we will see what they plan to do, but I fully expect Jared or Byron to come clean and confirm that "yes, we are hinting at starts of romantic feelings between the two" in interviews instead of bullshitting us further with "we don't knooow, we let the viewer decide" because then its really just exactly where the first movie left off.

weirdly, this interview gave me hope for wildehopps.

The interviewer ask about it, is interesting too.
She tells Ginni about that there are strong aspirations for wildehopps among the fans, and ask how Ginni fits that into her performance of the dynamic into - which would be a weird thing to ask if the aspirations would be misplaced, because then why would Ginni try to bring that aspect into the role?

Ginni then responds with, "I wish I knew... I wish could dissect how we have gotten here", since she was seperated from Jason during recording, she couldn't react to his lines and HIS performance of Nick. So she doesn't know how Disney does it, that they put the two voices together and it comes off as (and she doesn't really describe how it sounds)

Which feels like, that it something she would've put more into her voice-work if she knew that the movie would lean into romantic themes like that. And the way she says she is "rooting for them from the outside, just generally as like a partnership" sound like she isn't really against the idea of Judy and Nick getting together, as long as they remain great partners and they find success.

Overall glad there are interviewers that don't shy away from asking about wildehopps even if the actors and disney doesn't want to give us a straight answer about it.

while rumor 2 seems plausible and less ambiguous and more preferrable than rumor 1... its still way too open ended and doesn't confirm any form of relationship, only confirms the presence of romantic feelings that neither Judy or Nick acted upon yet.

After a decade of waiting, people were hoping for the RELATIONSHIP STATUS to get an official update, not just the feelings. I just don't see why they couldn't do both. Nah. It's a movie, not a radio show. "Show, don't tell" as they say. I would argue that the ending of Z1 went a bit above just merely platonic and yet 9 years later people are still arguing about it. Actions speak louder than words, so a mouth-to-mouth kiss has to be the bare minimum. A straight-up marriage proposal, and a "yes", would also work. The third option is doing what the Lion King did. Zootopia 1 felt like an underdog story where the rookies have to prove themselves even though the boos sabotages them. The other officers don't help them because they don't think they belong there.

Zootopia2 is obviously a "we have been framed" story. The other officers not just don't help them, but actively try to catch them.

What will Zootopia 3 do? I really hope we get so see Judy and Nick as established policed officers working together with the other officers well.

Gary is a total non-starter to me. I may be a furry, but I don't touch that vore/hypnosis crap with a ten-foot pole, and it's unavoidable with that character. He's clearly modeled after Kaa, so it goes hand in hand with the more depraved folks in the fandom who love that Kaa shit.

As for the Lynxes...I feel like there's something about their designs that feels weirdly off...like they are a little too exaggerated? The 2-D lynx from the book looks better, and I can't recall whether there were lynxes in the crime files, but those designs, in general, were solid and made for a good reference for species in Zoot that hadn't shown up in the film.

With the Lynxley's it's like...is it too much cheek fluff? Hands too big? Idk..I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not like the 'sheep' problem Zoot has, where, because of the 'henchrams' thing with Bellwether, all the sheep look barely sapient when they don't have Bellwether's model as a base. It was clear outside of Bellwether and Judy's childhood that the sheep were designed to be villains first, and now we're kinda stuck with that.

And the beaver...idk, she just seems annoying. I can't believe they literally stole the Rock Bottom 'phhbt' thing from ancient ass SpongeBob. Between her and the super sweet, fun Chinese pandering snake, Nick and Judy will be carrying a lot of weight for the movie. So I hope for Wildhopps fans there will be something there to make that worth it...but some of them seem willing to scrape crumbs off the floor for that ship, so they'll probably be satisfied with a 'flirty glance'.

Like "I am Legend", where the thearical version had Will Smith's character, Neville, sacrifice himself to create a cure by blowing himself and the infected horde up.
While an alternative ending thats more inline with the source-material's narrative, has Neville realizes the infected do still have thoughts and can be reasoned with, and in their eyes HE is the monster. He releases the captured infected, that the horde thanks by leaving in peace.

Other example is little shop of Horrors, that originally had the movie end with a "end of the world" tone which the alien plant eating the protagonists, Seymour and his love interests and then growing over the planet eating all of humanity.

The theatrical release had Seymour save his love interest and then defeat the alien plant and live happily ever after.

In Marvel films in last decaleds it was a used trend to film fake scenes and not tell the actors which ones would actually be in the final film so they themselves wouldn't know how it ends, until the theatrical release.

Bogo is the police chief, but also the main police station at Savannah Central is only "Precinct 1". I think it wouldn't be entirely unbelievable if another Precinct's Captain would be promoted to the head. In fact that is more realistic.

You don't promote a regular police officer to the chief of the entire police. You take someone who already proved himself in smaller leading position as the police chief.

Thats kind of hilarious, I was planning in my own stuff that Judy becomes his successor, and by the time she's been at it for years, she's basically fully emulated Bogo demeanor as a way to make sure the bull-pen takes her seriously.

That said...man, I know it's going to get a 'it's a kids movie' response...but if there's a bird reveal that's the same as the reptile reveal it's just...the reptile reveal is already garbage. But what are the odds, like...within weeks to months, two entire populations of new species previously undiscovered or forgotten are found?
