No ages are given but it's the easiest to assume a "virgin" male character is probably going to be on the younger side, which again takes away from the ability from anyone to "self insert" with a first person story. It's very clear that this was either written with both characters meant to be independent characters, or a self indulgent fic for the author. "I" am not a virgin child with a Gardevoir named Isha, therefore writing the story from first person perspective is weak and distracting.
