And I think it works better if they don't find out before the fight kicks off. I kind of want them to stay emotionally raw for at least the moment and not swap back into problem solving mode. I was thinking that I should also have part of the ritual kick off, but I'm not sure how I should handle that. The way I've written it, the ritual involves three sets of panties, and a corrupted elf. And having that kick off during the fight could give me something to cut back to. But I'm wondering what that might look like.

While I don't want to outright discuss it because I think it's better if it's something the audience can see for themselves out, there's a lot of subtleties to how the circus dimension society works. I sort of touched on it during the boardwalk arc. So basically I figure the heads of the family are all first generation immigrants from back between the 1890's and 1930's (I have an idea for how to touch on this in the Chinese restaurant). With that comes with a lot of things where the older generations are not PC. But they're not like explicitly super racist like we'd think today either. Given the Duchess didn't make the circus to be a white-supremacist dimension. So they're used to these people being their neighbors for more than a century. Likewise the younger generation (who the characters are talking to, and I want to have it brought up that they're much closer to Cal's age than a lot of other characters) are more used to growing up in a multicultural society (even if everyone has white skin in the circus dimension, they're used to operating a real circus in the normal US, and tour it and aren't shocked to see different kinds of people). Despite this, this doesn't suddenly make them free from any prejudices. But more specifically to their rivals, than say whole ethnicities outright. And I'm wondering how I can touch on this. I had been thinking of having the older generation (the leprechaun) being the biggest shit-talker that's the least PC, but I've instead figured she should be more like a 'we don't even talk about their kind in this house'. Which on that note I want to use to try to crank up the suspense, but again am not sure how to bring that up. While in contrast the younger generation are more willing to discuss it, but it'll turn out are much more the shit-stirrers.
