I think what I've settled on for the moment is focusing on all the 'npc's' cause they have a lot more to talk about and advance the plot than Beck and Lucy do (who are caught up in interpersonal drama). Plus Monica is more on mission than her mom. And I can just cut back to them when the fight starts. Though I'm still figuring the specifics of the ritual. Again something with Agnes and Elizabeth. Though I'm thinking that it ends up failing, from a combination of the fight, and Agnes not actually willing to go through with it. Maybe just making out with Agnes getting really shy (it'd be nice to highlight that she's all offense zero defense).

Secondly, I think it's something I have to power through for a bit, since I think it's much worse to try to suddenly swerve the story halfway through, than it is to lean into the curve. That's how we got the sequels trilogy. I think it's something I'm gonna have to review when the story is over, and people see the full context of what I was going for. I am planning on addressing any further cleanup in the following Ninja Minisode, and anticipating that there's going to be some, but again I probably want to wait to come up with specifics until after the story is over. I think the feedback next chapter will be more important though, since that's when we're gonna get into Lucy's headspace more specifically, and I hope clarify some points on why this is all happening. I should note- what's happening to Lucy isn't meant to be like good or deserved, it's meant to be Jayden's hand as the author not mine. I'll also say there's going to be a big story shift next chapter that'll move the plot along in a different direction, which I hope appeases people a little. But again, I think it's something that I'll need to consider once the story is completed, and I can review all missteps in full.
