FAQ
Q: I'm a total beginner. Where should I start?
A: Do the exercises in either "Keys to Drawing" by Bert Dodson or "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. Additionally, you can try the first few lessons of https://drawabox.com/ for building up muscle memory.

Does this kinda look kemono-y? I'm trying to draw a kemono-style Loona but I'm having a tough time.

Weekend Drawing Plans?
I want to try a style study on Elsword.

Without reference, what should I be working on first?

Hair texture, your art is good, the anatomy is good, the hair looks a bit cartoony/flat, add some kind of shine or highlights or hair texture to make it fluff up and match with the rest of the style.

this thread is super dead. It's usually alive during the weekends, no?

Is it okay for me to draw 8 hours a day? I'm pre beg and very impatient. I want to get to int by july 2026.

I’ve been procrastinating on this thing for so long that I completely forgot I made this. This was supposed to be anatomy practice so I could make sexier drawings, but damn I’ve actually impressed myself.

I need to get good. It just seems like I'm drawing whatever with no real actual studying or improvement. Does anybody have any good videos for improving things like rendering/coloring and line art?

Sadly I do not have any tutorials. I've mainly been looking at art that I see that have hair styles I like and try to use that as a reference as best as I can.

No worries, probably that's the way to learn lol. Im old enough to have fallen for the loomis/hogarth/peck meme instead of just putting in work drawing from life

I think you've made the hip box a bit too small to be usefully representative here. It might be worth considering using other means of sketching it out. Personally, I use three circles in most circumstances; one large one to place the pelvic structure in space, then two smaller ones to indicate buttocks/thigh joints. Once those rough indicators are in place, it's a lot easier to start figuring out the more specific tilting and angling.

Also, you're letting the side further away from the viewer have way too large a gap between ribs and pelvis again. Always keep the baseline rules of proportion in mind and double-, triple-check them when in even a slight bit of doubt, and note any significant proportional deviations your particular reference model has to pay extra attention to, especially if the character you're drawing is going to have different proportions.

Well 4chan is gonna be the worst spot to be lol. Trust me brother I've tried twitter, 4chan, reddit, discords. Get used to the fact that this hobby is very personal and that unfortunately most people are low quality.

Need some help. Making an edit of someone else’s drawing. Blonde in the middle used to be a chick. I painted out her tits and added balls but they don’t look right. Any suggestions?

Well, I tried. I ended up with a yordle-style Loona.
It's kinda early to say with your sketch, beyond just fundamental stuff being off. You should put the general shapes in place before rendering the eyes, make the silhouette read like Loona's.

>>79880570

try streaming platforms like picarto and artists discord servers, don't go in expecting interaction/attention, sometimes watching a persons process can inform you more than feedback on your own works can

Yup, like the other anon said, the balls don't look like balls, more like a very puffy vulva. I'd recommend making them a bit larger and the seam between the testicles less pronounced. Maybe even remove it entirely if you really want to emphasize a cute, feminine purse look.

I don't have the willpower to learn to draw properly, but I'm wondering what it would take to go from "toddler level scribbles" to "good enough for /trash/". Days? Weeks? Months?

Like a month or two.
