The rope is secured to the back of the harness and makes it easy to pick her up without hurting her. You can even use it as a leash and go for walkies with her, though she'll have to sprint to keep up with your leisurely walk. If she's been naughty you can hang the ring on a hook in the ceiling, leaving her suspended in the air until she's learned her lesson.

The best thing she can hope for is that the new human hire who gets constantly flirted on by the other anthro girls in the office takes pity/a liking to her and keeps her on his desk to use her expertise and pass it as his own, rather than send her on meaningless errants or just use her as a paperweight or decoration.
Later, when the boss (who has made several passes at him already) praises him for his work and offers him a promotion to a managerial position and he tells her than he owes his accomplishments and newfound competency to his tiny coworker, she just answers:

To be fair, giving her a meaningless errand is going to take all her day if the office isn't built for 'smaller' races. Imagine asking her to fetch you a cup of coffee and she just looks at the cup that is bigger than she is, then down from your desk at the floor that is several body-lengths away, then at the closed door to the breakroom she'd need to figure out how to open, and realizing that all this is just the beginning. What a waste for a lady with a PhD, no wonder she prefers to swallow her pride.
